What would you think about an AI that could play 'pvp' with you? I mean an AI that plays pvp maps using cards, monuments like a player would?
Would that be possible / wanted / interesting?

Are you suggesting the people that disagree with you are new accounts paid off with virtual gaming cards? What are you even talking about? How does that ... what? It doesn't make any sense, I can't.
>I will tell you later why.
Please don't.
>Donuld
This has to be a troll account, please. For my sanity, please be a troll account.

Those are the most incoherently rambling posts that I have ever read, no joke. So many completely irrelevant if not downright cringe remarks. Actually this song in written form.
Okay, so let's take this seriously for a moment.
No doubt some people that were previously banned for multi accounting would actually embrace a new chance after release and never do it again. But for others it would just be an additional incentive because now any progress they make by farming BFP on multiple accounts would be permanent.
People squeezing the most amount of BFP they can out of one account is one thing. But imagine what it would do to the crucial early days after release if you invited people back in again that massively inflate BFP amounts on the server by grinding multiple accounts, even if only for a few days. There will definitely be a surge of multi accounting after release, why give chances to previous multi accounters too? It's just more workload for the moderation to ban most of them again.
If anything, somewhere down the line, a few months after release after the economy got more stable, the team could lift pre-1.0 multi account bans to give them that chance. But they are busy enough at launch as it is. No need to also invite known offenders back in, a lot of them will try either way.

Metagross31 liked a post in a topic by Buddelmuddel in Offering help for rpve lvl 10
So, right now, there started to be a reasonable amount of lvl 10 players, which is good.
I would give some tips for advanced lvl 10 gameplay, I know its the beginner guide, but I think its also good to keep it together:
To keep a healthy mental in lvl 10:
- you probably wont win every match except when you have a very experienced team, with decks which are build to win
- not every fraction has the same difficutly, and not every map in each fraction has the same diffcutly:
so there are maps with air units at the start, with towers, without them and camps at the t3 camp or without it
the difficutly varies immensely if there is air, and also if there are camps at the t3, expecially for certain positions, 1,4
it also varies immensely depending on the fraction starting from bandit, to twilight to stoneskin to lost souls
- not every position has the same difficulty
this is probably the most interesting point:
pos 2 is the best position, then position 3, then 1 and then 4
when you play with me i will usually be on position 2. Mostly it is the position, where i can clear my stuff easily and i am able to help the others to get to their spheres. If im on position 4, my impact on the game is slimmer.
in 50% of the games there are camps at the t3, so when they get triggered, which can happen from the inside player or the outside player the outside players have to cope in the worst case with 3 incoming waves. On those maps it is good when you have an experienced inside player who helps you.
- generally when you are the better player, start inside, position 2,3 and help your outsides
- position 4 gets the least amount of energy income. It is good to change the position every match, or you build a low energy income deck especially for position 4, or just dont get frustrated if it is not the game of your life and you will maybe have to get carried through the map.

I to this day am insanely grateful for the support and progress we've made throughout these 5 years. It's been a wild ride and a half, and I've seen it all; from glorious hype to grossly overstated goals, from an amazing supportive community to hate and abandonment, from major progression blocks and team issues to the fantastic appreciation, progress and teamwork that we're going through today. It's so cool to finally be able to say we are releasing after such a long time, and thank you all so much for sticking with us throughout it all with your messages of support, passion and dedication.
I've been here from the get-go and although perhaps less intensively as I used to, I'll be very glad to stay a part of the team and continue to develop with the team for future content to come as a designer and moderator, and I'm very excited to see what we'll come up with to make the game that much more exciting and long-lasting. Perhaps you'll also start seeing me in-game more often once we go gold
Keep it up team, keep it up community, and thank you so much every single one of you. It's been a long time coming, and the moment is finally upon us.
Nyn is ready to be conquered and protected, it's yours to explore without a looming reset, December 18th! Go get 'em, Skyfolk!

Hello Skylords,
The day everyone has been awaiting has finally arrived. After all these years of hard work and dedication we are excited to tell you we have an official release date for Skylords Reborn!
December 18, 2020
As you might know, we will also have a progression reset alongside this release. This means everyone's progress (this includes cards, BFP, gold, upgrades etc.) will be reset on release day. So hold back just a little if you were planning to play before release (or don't if you don't mind losing the progress). We have always said that there will be a reset on release date and it will definitely happen. If you would like to follow what we are up to and what is still left to be done before release, you can do so by looking at our Trello here.
On another note, we are looking for new staff members!
With the game being more stable and bug-free than ever before, and the upcoming release, we will start to look for ways to expand on the current game. This includes adding cards and maps, doing card and map balance changes, holding events and tournaments etc. And this is where we need your help. Listed below are three positions which will be open for applications. If you want to offer your help you can do so by applying in the recruitment section here on the forum. Please apply in the `Development` section and specify what role you would like to fulfill.
- Designer: Design game mechanics related to progression/quests/rewards.
- Map Scripters: Fixes bugs in map scripts, and assists the map designers with map scripting.
- Map Designers: Makes new maps, or polishes existing maps so they can be added as official to the game.
That's it for now! For more information you can watch the livestream we did here. Thank you for your support thus far and we will see each other around.

The Nightmare Shard was overrun in a joint effort and we could determine the most fierce of all the Skylords!
1st - RadicalX (7:33)
2nd - Pritstift (8:08)
3rd - Mynoduesp (8:09)
Notice that RadicalX replay has to be viewed on the Testserver, otherwise it wont work. The next PvE Challenge will come soon...

@Karl Lavafeld You can view your free PvP cards in your inventory (in the same way you could view your tome cards in the old BF), by clicking on the dropdown menu top-left of your inventory. This means you can also create new decks from the cards you get from the two decks you select. In other words: some players might consider looking at the cards in the decks instead of the deck themselves, so they can form a new deck based of the cards from the two selected decks.
About maximum deck count: yes, they count as a deck and therefore also for your 100 deck limit. It should not be possible to have more than 100 decks this way. If it is, then it is a bug and should be reported.
Maybe we should clarify that you can view your free pvp cards using that dropdown here

THIS IS A COMMUNITY-DRIVEN TOURNAMENT. WE ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE SR-TEAM.
Hello fellow Skyladies and Skylords,
Change is coming ... Let us battle it out on the Testserver. It might be the last time we are showing off before we go into full release and the Stress Test Open will come to an end. Who will claim the title of the strongest Skylord?
To get to the testserver, get the data (~10mb) in the official Skylords Discord under channel "#dev-updates-test-server" in Technical and Test Section. Please confirm its working and build your decks before the tournament. Direct link to #dev-updates-test-server
Also here is a link to the balance changes already done: LINK
Format?
It will be a 1vs1 double elimination best of 3 tournament, the grand final will be best of 5 (one match, no reset). Winner and losers finals will be played on stream.
Prize Pool! (The more people participate, the bigger it will get, of course rewards are for the normal server)
1st place - 15€
2nd place - 10€
3rd place - 5€
All participants - 300 BFP
Bonus reward: Whoever wins a best of 3 against RadicalX also gets 5000 BFP.
€Prizes will be distributed via PayPal. Big thanks to Nachtwolf for organising the sponsoring for this tournament!
When?
On 08.11.20 starting on 2pm CEST(Berlin time), the stream will start about 30 minutes in advance.
Organisation?
The tournament brackets will be on Challonge, so register and join the tournament there. Please use your in game account name to make communication and finding your enemy easier.
=>LINK TO CHALLONGE<=
The streaming channel that will be covering the tournament is DasToggy on twitch.tv .
In case of problems contact me or one of my mods via Discord, Battleforge or in the stream.
Rules!
-No bugabuse, cheating or insulting the other players. Penalties may vary from a warning to default loss.
-Disconnection during a game results in a default loss. If both sides agree it is possible to have a remake.
-Not showing up to your match with after 15 minutes results in a default loss. The plan is to play a round of matches every ~30 mins.
-After your match, go to Challonge and insert the result. That is done by clicking on your match and selecting the winner/stats . The brackets will be updated automatically.
-The Map Pool is: Haladur, Simai, Wazhai, Elyon, Lajesh, Uro and Yrmia (same pool as in ranked duel). The first match of the round will be played on Haladur, then it is losers choice. Second round will start with Simai, third one... you get the drill. The winning player (who won the last match in this bo3) also has to lock in his deck first.
-The brackets for the tournament will be shuffled before the tournament starts.
-Since we play on the TESTSERVER, no cards are banned.
Reply in this thread if you have questions, I will check it out later.
We came a long way in ~20 tournaments in the Open Stress Test and it is time to step it up. May we celebrate the upcoming release with this tournament!
Best regards,
DasToggy

I think they are trying to soften that blow by making you pick 2 decks at a time for one week. So you don't have *everything* at once, always only one part.
I guess it depends on what you consider the bigger issue. PvP being virtually locked for you until you have upgraded cards and can even begin to compete on a raw power level? Or the economical impact of providing a set of cards for free and undermining of the collection aspect?
You also have to consider that originally all these things were baked into the monetization model. Want more charges? Pay up. That means that being more competitive in PvP was an incentive to spend money. That's not the case anymore, you can't just buy progress. So they have to somehow try to dissect these methods out of the game design.

Greetings, Skylords, Skyladies and other Skyfolk!
The time where PvP players had to grind cards and upgrades in PvE in order to unlock the PvP mode will soon be coming to an end. Today we're rolling out a patch where we'll be introducing free pre-built level 120 PvP decks. All cards in those decks will be fully upgraded and charged. This will reduce the entrance barrier to PvP and ensure fairer conditions. Every week you will be able to choose 2 out of 16 different PvP decks. These decks are not locked! You will be able to freely modify these decks by adding cards from your own collection. However, the cards offered in these free PvP decks will not be usable in any of the PvE modes.
We'd like to offer thanks to RadicalX, Hirooo, and TopS3cret, as they were the ones who designed the decks! They are among the most experienced PvP players, and have carefully arranged these decks so they are accessible to both new and veteran players.
On a side note, we will be live on Twitch this upcoming Sunday on the 1st November 2020 at 14:00 CET! We want to talk about some future plans and answer some of your questions. There will also be a very important announcement in regards to the release and reset you are waiting for. You will be able to find the stream here: https://www.twitch.tv/skylordsreborn
You will be able to choose between these decks:
Tainted Darkness (Pure Shadow)
Gifted Darkness (Shadow Nature)
Blessed Darkness (Shadow Frost)
Infused Darkness (Shadow Fire)
Tainted Flora (Nature Shadow)
Gifted Flora (Pure Nature)
Blessed Flora (Nature Frost)
Infused Flora (Nature Fire)
Tainted Ice (Frost Shadow)
Gifted Ice (Frost Nature)
Blessed Ice (Pure Frost)
Infused Ice (Frost Fire)
Tainted Flame (Fire Shadow)

Blessed Flame (Fire Frost)
Infused Flame (Pure Fire)

I haven't talked with the devs yet and yes, the graph shows the lowest current buyout values. (I planned to add another graph inside it that shows the current number of auctions for this card, for more depth of information)
To get the data from the game itself would mean I'd have to use "tools" on the game, but that would break the rules. So I won't do that to acquire the data, as I still want to enjoy playing the game and not get banned.
I know that the way I set up the page is not a completely accurate representation of the auctions, I just wanted to implement this idea of mine, as best as I could. I will probably change the site to just a better filtering site for the cards, if I can't get my hands on the parts of the auction data that I need without risking my account.

Metagross31 liked a post in a topic by Maze in Skylords Marketplace Journal (SMJ)
Greetings fellow Skyfolk,
after reaching a point where it just wouldn't make sense to continue working on the now outdated version of the SMJ-Website, I decided to completely rebuild the website with different tools and development strategies.
The redesigned site is now at a stage of development where I think it is viable enough to replace the old version, which broke with the anniversary patch of 2021 anyway.
The new version can be found here: https://smj.cards/
The old version is no longer available due to changes made by the hoster heroku that would require paying to host it, but it didn't receive any more updates anyway.
The old version was available here: https://smj.herokuapp.com/
The new site provides a lot of the features the old one did and more.
There are a few exceptions though, which I haven't implemented yet due to time issues, as I wanted give you access to the new site since the old one doesn't work anymore, but I will reimplement them in a later version:
Deals page Filtering/Sorting the cards by powercost, damage, lifepoints, abilities Using URL parameters to set filters/sorters Aside from these, the new site has other things going for it, which are best experienced by playing around with the site, but just a few that may be of interest to you:
Bigger variety of filters (excluding the ones mentioned above) like: Playable with certain orb setup max charges, squad size, starter card, gender, etc. More price details for each card: 1W/2W/3W/4W Median/Mean/Min/Max 7 Days Daily Meadian micro-chart in the main table view Differences of current price to 1W median / yestedays daily median to the daily median of one week ago Short Term chart that updates every 10 minutes but only shows 4 weeks worth of data (limited because of data size reasons) Long Term OHLC-charts that update every day and give a better sense of price development over a longer period of time compared to a regular single point chart Card Auction details of what auctions currently exist for each card, when the auctions were approximately started, when they will switch and when they will end (still a small bug in the calculation sometimes, but I will fix that independently of the site) Average value of the reforged card, when destroying 4 of the same card General card info: Maps to get the upgrades from for each card List of cards that share 5/4/3/2 similarities with the selected card for easier reforging decisions Button to the wiki page for the card Button to copy the shorthand card url for sharing Some other info: The main search field has a "fuzzy" functionality, try searching "LSS" and you will see what it means 😉 I created my own card IDs to not be as vulnerable to changes to official card IDs (Plague), Promo status (Lord Cyrian), affinity (Sandstorm R -> B), as well as potential name changes In some cases SMJ IDs as well as official card IDs can be used for some things: The following links will all redirect to https://smj.cards/card/grinder-promo-p: https://smj.cards/7z https://smj.cards/[1607] All card images are automatically generated from their static data through an api that you are able to use as well, but I will explain how to use it at a later date
The site is still in development and some things might still be subject to change in the future, but I didn't want to make you wait any longer, seeing as the old site doesn't work anymore.
Also, just as an info, the features that the site currently provides represent about 50% of the features that I plan to add in the future. 😉
Just like the previous site, the new one will also only provide information about the prices, the cards were put in the marketplace for and not actual sell prices!
If you find anything that is not working properly or is irritating, please let me know and I will look into it. Also, if you have any specific feature ideas that you think would be useful, don't hesitate in telling me about them and I'll see what I can do. Design/Layout suggestions are also appreciated, as I'm not a designer and just did what came to mind, especially the boosters and card details tables with their cells that display the prieces, which I am not entirely happy with yet.
I hope this little project of mine will be somewhat helpful to you all, as that was my foremost goal from the beginning. 🙂
Thanks and I hope to see you all in the Forge. 😉
PS:
I would also like to mention that I have a discord server dedicated to the whole SMJ project, where I post about the project more regularly than on the forum and where it's easier to get in touch with me regarding everything related to the SMJ.
You can join the discord server here: https://discord.gg/m5Dm5fweSV
Over there you are are also able to interact with a discord bot that allows you to set price notifications for cards that you want to buy/sell and a few other usefull features.
Most of the features the bot provides are only listed by the bot itself, but you can read up a little bit of info about it in this forum thread: https://forum.skylords.eu/index.php?/topic/7300-smj-bot

Metagross31 liked a post in a topic by Eirias in 2v2 Troll-nament
Since the April Fool's video I made, I've been playing with the idea of having a Troll 2v2 tournament where teammates start on opposite teams.
Let's imagine 4 players: P1 and P2 are on a team against P3 and P4. P1 and P3 will be the "leaders" of their team.
The game would start with P1 and P4 on (map) team 1; P3 and P2 would be on team 2. So actual teammates start on the opposite teams as each other. If team 1 (aka P1) sees the victory screen, P1 and P2 win the game. I team 2 (aka P3) sees the victory screen, P3 and P4 win.
So basically, P2 and P4 are trying so sabotage their temporary teammates.
Shadow is of course the obvious choice for trolling, so I am thinking the "sabotage" player should not be allowed to play any shadow orbs. We can see how creative people can be. I have thought of some interesting strategies to troll your partner even without shadow
I am also wondering if the "lead" player should also be penalized from using shadow. For example, cards like corpse explosion or shadow phoenix would still be very strong in this scenario.
Here is the current ruleset I'm thinking about:
Each team is composed of a "lead" and "sabotage" player. The sabotage player starts on the enemy team and is not allowed to play any shadow orbs. Victory is determined by the winning "lead" player.
Pairings: Swiss system with a random seeding
Points: 7 points for victory, 3 points for loss, -3 points per shadow orb played
Teams will play 2 games back-to-back.
Maps: Fyre, Danduil, Gorgash, Zahadune, Turan. Any other map (including Generated) is allowed if BOTH teams agree to it.
One team will ban 2 maps. The other team chooses any of the 3 remaining maps. The team that banned chooses the starting position of both players.
After game 1, the map picking roles reverse.
I don't know if it's feasible to stream the games live, especially since I would want to hide troll strategies from the competitors. But I'd like all the games to happen on the same day, so there is less chance for cheating (i.e. sharing replays with someone so they know someone else's strat).
Anyone interested in playing (or watching) this?

After the dust in the PvP arena settles there is still evil to slay: We must venture to the Nightmare Shard and take it at all cost! So after a lot of PvP tournaments I want to give some sugar to the PvE community aswell. This is a first attempt to give a little challenge on a map that probably nobody speedruns (and surely not on advanced), so everyone should be able to try some new strategys.
What?
Speedrun contest on Nightmare Shard. Send me your quickest replay to participate.
Find the replays under Documents=>battleforge=>replays
Infos!
map: Nightmare Shard
difficulty: advanced
players: solo
restricted cards: Enlightenment, Amii Monument
Until when?
Send me your replays via Discord until 25.10.20. I will sort them and cast the quickest run.
Prize pool!
1st place - 3000 BFP + Construct Promo
2nd place - 2000 BFP + Enlightenment
3rd place - 1000 BFP + Amii Monument
4th-last - 300 BFP
most creative strategy (in the top10) - 750BFP
And every participant will get a Booster after the reset!
If you guys like it there will be more and more of these little challenges in the future, let me know what you think about it.
Looking forward to several cool replays!
