    Heya Skyfolk!

There have been increasing concerns lately about people selling and buying in-game content for real-life currency. We'd like to clarify that we do not and will never sell any BattleForge content for real-life money. This is due to the project being non-profit and a revival passion project in which we do not own any of the rights required to sell anything that's part of the game. Also, we like giving you a free experience of this amazing game without you ever having to worry about it being pay-to-win!
ANY kind of activity in the games, the forums, or our official discord server that involves trading in-game content for non-in-game content, be it real-life currency, accounts, games, literally anything that's not a part of the game, is strictly forbidden and not condoned by the Skylords Reborn Team. We do not and will never tolerate any kind of transactions that go beyond the game, such as account sales or trading BFP for real-life money, even if it was meant as a joke.
These kinds of malpractices put the entire game at risk for everyone involved; they could and will shut down the project entirely, never making Skylords Reborn available to the people again.  We don't want that to happen, and hopefully neither do any of you. We're very proud and happy to provide the BF experience to you and we intend to keep doing so!
For the safety of the community as well as the entire project's future, please consider the following:
If you see anyone attempting to sell or buy in-game content for out-of-game content on any platform report this to SR staff as soon as you can! We will do what we can to crack down on these cases as soon as possible. You can report someone by right clicking their name in the game and then clicking the report button, using the report function on the forums, or sending a DM to the SR Staff Mail bot on our Discord server. We will never sell you in-game content for real money. If someone does, report it. Attempting to sell in-game content like this is considered a threat to the entire project and its community, and will result in a permanent ban. This ban is NOT negotiable; you will never be able to access the game again. Period. We take these kinds of issues very seriously and we will always do what we can to keep Skylords Reborn a safe and enjoyable place for you all, and that means we try to keep it free from black market practices. By reporting, you can help keep Nyn safe and keep the game alive for all of us!
Thanks for keeping the game safe and enjoyable with us! Stay cool, stay safe, and enjoy the forge!

What I really propose - if only pure colours are allowed - every collour should have it's own competion, it's really important. Otherwise some decks won't be good choice for most of participants. Separate contest for every colour.
Also would be nice to have in game notifactions about tournaments.
  3. MephistoRoss liked a post in a topic by Zyna in Fear of a slow death of a community
It all started out with you publicly complaining about the issue of the lack of tournaments. In that discussion you were already showing a somewhat passive aggressive attitude towards @Ladadoos. A few days later, you approached him via his DMs in a rather aggressive way. He told you that he's not ignoring the issue, but not interested in a personal discussion with you, due to your attitude. Normally we wouldn't mind discussing something like this, as long as there's respect and common courtesy. In fact, I discuss topics like this with @Toggy quite often. It is rare that we decide to ignore someone. So to conclude, it was not the choice of words, but your general attitude you have shown both in public and in private.
He also obviously did not ignore the content of your message, because even before you DMed him we already decided to address these issues. We wanted to make a general project status update, and we wanted to add the positions for the community ambassador and the event organizer role.
We literally put thousands of hours into this project in the last year. Obviously @Toggy is one of the most engaged community members, but you're seriously underestimating how much work goes into this project. A lot of the work we do is generally not suitable for announcements to the public. Especially back in January, we had to spend a huge amount of time on the project just helping out new people with technical support and moderation issues. There was so much moderation work, that pretty much everyone had to help with that.
The platforms Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube were in fact not decently managed before release, but also definitely not ignored. In the period from the end of 2018 to early 2020 there were no posts on these platforms. However, starting in August 2020 Ladadoos and I started with helping managing these platforms aswell. Obviously, given our roles in this project, and the fact that we have personal lives, this could not be kept up, especially given that our previously very active server developer Kubik left the team. Looking at the unofficial steam or skype groups for example, they mostly already died down on their own 2-3 years ago. I was able to find barely any posts, even after we announced the release. So these issues did not suddenly start after release.
Also, you really seem somewhat conflicted here. On one hand you say "If the staff do nothing, why should the community?", but on the other one you say "[...] but the future of this game should, UNLIKE the big companies I mentioned, in my opinion be more open and community driven". We believe this project is a community effort, not just a staff effort.
We post updates when we make progress in development. However, in the last two months there was simply just not a lot of progress. Which is mostly due to the fact, that both Ladadoos and I heavily neglected our studies for the sake of this project in the year before. At the moment, we are the only server and client developers. Expecting constant updates at the pace they were released in the last year is completely unrealistic, especially given the fact that we're unpaid and doing this in our free time. Feel free to read this announcement aswell, we also touch upon the topic of unsustainable progress there.

There are so many little things staff could do all the time. Give responses to all posts, ask for clarification on bug reports, remind people to send their logs, offer to help people with technical issues, participate in feature discussions, and the list goes on. The issue here is simply that all of these little things, some of which are in fact not little, together do in fact take a lot of time.
This is just a another example of things, which might seem like they don't take a lot of time, but they in fact do. Who looks at all the replays? Who decides what's the funniest entry? Who hands out all the boosters? Who organizes the challenge? Who manages the challenge? And even then, people do have quality standards, and they don't want to waste their time with half-baked challenges. It's also generally not good for our image if we just try to pump out content with no real thought behind it. Generally we would like to go for quality over quantity, although we're aware that currently there are no challenges or tournaments. Staff members had been working on both a challenge, and a tournament in fact. They simply couldn't find the time to continue with these plans, hence why we're looking for more volunteers. As you can see from @Toggy and others, staff involvement is not a must for challenges or tournaments.
Obviously we care, and we try our best. And the best we can do right now is to get more volunteers on board, who can help us solve the exact issues you're bringing forward. It's disappointing that you imply that staff doesn't "really care" about tournaments, challenges and growing the community after more than 5 years of hard work.
I really think we're doing the best we can in the current situation, and I'm honestly not sure what you expect us to do differently, given the circumstances. @anonyme0273 in this post you only mention all the issues, and how you don't care that we're hiring new staff to attempt to solve them. Given the current circumstances, what do you expect us to do differently now?
You mentioned that Ladadoos and I participate in a lot of topics. We believe though, that there is a difference between particpating, and actively contributing. Here's how we participate in all things you mentioned:
Staff recruitment: yes, we handle that alongside the respective lead roles. Client modification: yes, we handle that completely, we're the only client and server developers at the moment. Community management: I would argue we're not doing the job of a community manager, but feel free to correct me. The most we do in that regard are maybe official statements. Project planning: there are examples of multiple different projects which work independently from Ladadoos and I: There is the Skylords Reborn Descriptions group, managed by @Mynoduesp. They are working on revamping all of the ingame descriptions. Our participation in this so far has been mostly limited to a meeting, where we discussed their proposals. There is a group working on additional rPvE factions. It started with @CrazyCockerell, and since then @Emmaerzeh has been looking over that project. There is the balancing team, which is managed by @ImaginaryNumb3r and will work autonomously. At the moment I'm still training the balancing developers a bit, until they can work on their own. Game design: we just give feedback on proposals (independently worked on by dedicated designers) in regards to technical limitations, and as server and client developers we implement finished proposals. Cloud you clarify what you mean with "pretty much everything else"? I hope it's clear that we have a team of more than 20 people who are putting their time into this project. They handle moderation, balancing, design, map creation, technical support, etc. Obviously we do a lot, which is to be expected as both an admin and developer, but to claim we do everything is absurd. You could even say that there are already multiple "project administrators" in the project who are overlooking a general process:
@ImaginaryNumb3r is the lead in game and faction design. @Emmaerzeh is the lead in map making, and organizing the map making effort. @RadicalX is in charge of the PvP expert group for balancing. In the future @WindHunter could be in charge of a similar process for PvE. It really does not seem like you are aware of the limitations we are facing. Our current biggest limitation in this regard is the lack of active developers.
Currently we have freund17, and Maze, who are working on a (for now internal) web interface/admin tool for Skylords Reborn. They are organizing themselves and the features they work on are currently determined by the moderators, who are in need of a moderation tool. We have Chibiterasu and Razeroc, who are part of the balancing team. There is fiki574. He's not as active as he once was, but he's maintaining our public APIs. He also listens to feedback from the community there. We have Aviat0r, who is also not too active at the moment, who has been working on a new updater tool. There is also empty, who's currently inactive. So unless you want to manage Ladadoos and me, there's unfortunately not a lot developers to manage right now, hence why we are looking for new developers rather than such a position right now. If with "developers" you mean people who are not in staff, you are generally welcome to organize these kinds of special projects without staff involvement. We're generally happy to assist you if we believe you are working on something which can help out the project. For example, Maze made this useful tool before he was added into staff:

We hope that we could answer all your questions. If everything goes well, all of these things will be less of an issue in the future. We plan to add the positions we are currently lacking to the staff team in the upcoming weeks.

    Best regards,
    Ladadoos and Zyna ~
  4. MephistoRoss liked a post in a topic by Eirias in Proposal: Dev-Sponsored PvP Happy Hour(s)
Since the reset, the PvP scene has been healthier than it has in years. However, matchmaking is still difficult in North American times, and 2v2 ranked is essentially dead, as we've seen by @LordJay trying to self-organize a 2v2 ranked "happy hour."
There are a few problems why 2v2 is especially dead. First, there isn't a "culture" of 2v2--most people just play with random partners without voice, and they would rather mess around in unranked than lose to a team organized with voice. The players who do have dedicated partners need to come to unranked in order to find a match . . . and even if two teams want to play ranked, they will probably just go unranked because they don't think anyone else would be queueing ranked. If you type something like "looking for ranked 2v2 opponents" then most people worse than you will switch from ranked to unranked, and maybe some really good players will come to snipe you.
I suggest that we implement a dev-sponsored happy hour to focus PvP activity into certain time windows. For example, anyone who queues during this time gets 10x bfp return from the reserve while they wait for the match. Or, matches played during the happy hour grant 3x gold.
There could be a couple of these "happy hours" each day, which is convenient for people in different timezones. There should be happy hours for both 1v1 and 2v2. The idea is to create a couple reliable times when other PvP players will be online. Suppose I log into battleforge for an hour each day after work, at random. If I know that logging in from 9pm to 10pm will give me better rewards than any other time, I will probably play in that time instead of a different time. Or if I play both PvP and PvE, I might decide to play my pvp during the happy hour and PvE during another time.
Or imagine that I didn't care about the happy hour reward at all--but just knowing that more players will be online at a certain time, I might also try to be online at that time. Suppose that 10 players would play from 8-9, 10 different players from 9-10, and 10 different players from 10-11, which happens just by chance. Wouldn't it be better if we had 30 playing at once? Probably, we'd see players continue past the happy hour because there would be a variety of opponents to play (I guess a lot of people only play for a few games because they get tired of facing the same opponent).
    Advantages:
Focuses PvP in certain times, improving the experience at those times  by ensuring a variety of PvP opponents and possibly reviving dead modes like ranked 2v2 Causes more players to play PvP (because happy hour is strictly a bonus) Causes players to continue playing after happy hour, because the experience is overall better (less time queuing, opponents closer to your skill level, etc). Disadvantages:
If there is no net increase in PvP playtime, but simply players moving from one time to another, then certain times (such as 1 hour before happy hour) may have very few PvP players online, because they changed to only play during happy hour. This would be extremely annoying for PvP players who do not have flexibility when they can play. Personally, however, I don't think we'd get fewer PvP players at non-happy hour times. Still, one way to improve the experience for players without schedule flexibility would be to rotate the happy hours. For example, there could be 4 happy hours spaced 6 hours apart. On day 1 the happy hours might be 1:00, 7:00, 13:00, 19:00....on day two they would be 2:00, 8:00, 14:00, 20:00...and on day 6 they would repeat The only disadvantage to a rotating schedule is that players may forget when happy hour is, which results in decreased "advantages."
  5. Volin liked a post in a topic by MephistoRoss in Looking for a solid Construct deck!
I would change the orbs to Frost T1 Shadow T2/3 Nature T4 so you'd have access to the shadow spells and void manipulation in T3. This is the deck I built:

I have added Overlod as a secundairy T4 unit to kill flying enemies (also use spells for this) and to be able to Nether warp the constructs to them when the constructs get too far behind. You could also consider Lost spirit ships for killing flying units and alround damage.
If you still want T2 to be nature then I would use mountaineer in T2 with some nature spells:
(I dont have Mountaineer myself so I used razorshards)
I would suggest not to use Coldsnap btw because it reduces the damage you do to enemies and it is quite expensive.
  6. MephistoRoss liked a post in a topic by Clouds in Ironman mode/ solo mode
I just recently  wanted to start a new account that I will be playing with NO TRADE and NO MARKETPLACE restrictions.
So you will be only able to play with the cards and build decks around the cards you get from buying packs or get through achievements.
This has several benefits and is based on the formula that Runsecape and Oldschool Runescape have added to their game modes, called: Ironman mode.
    It allows for:
    - To strategize and make us of the resources you have at hand. So more "useless" or less played cards will get used in-game and new strategies will be formed around them.
    - Replay value for people who already own all the "interesting" cards and upgrades. For me personally the will to play came from grinder for BFP to buy the cards I wanted. But once achieved, it left me in a void not having a real goal to strive for and as a result I lost interest.
Making a game mode where you will have to make do with what you have and grind for cards you need or want to have to complete your deck is on a much bigger scale. This will give you a much bigger sense of accomplishment when making progress.
    - The pack buying process adds a whole new dimension to the strategic concept. You might have to think about which cards fit well with the ones you have now before building out an ideal deck from the start. This way, players don't immediately jump to the most powerful cards such as Batarial and Enlightment, but rather have to go for a well rounded deck first with "average" and more "common" cards in order to progress in the game.
    - Probably some other topics I'm not thinking about at the moment...
Currently it is impossible to make a new account due to multi-account restrictions.
Would I have to delete my existing account to start anew or how does this work if I want to go about making such an account?

Making a new playstyle with simple account restrictions like this will open a whole new game + discussion panel on the forums about strategies and tactics of which people think of.
It also let's people know in game that you are playing with cards you pulled yourself, so you are more restricted in the strategies you adopt. You will have to coordinate with your team members on a bigger scale to complete certain aspects of the game. It will also be much more rewarding.
So I think it could be cool.
    Just a suggestion

  8. Sekij liked a post in a topic by MephistoRoss in UPDATE: BFP Reserves and Boosters
The total bfp you can get with this system is dependent on several factors, like if you didnt play the day before.
So if you didnt play 2 days before the specific day, you can get 550 from daily boost and 450 from quests (1000bfp) in total for 1 hour of playtime. After the first hour the reserve starts which is really depending on how much time you play exactly that day and the breaks inbetween. I would estimate about 350bfp in one day if you play really a lot (which I dont think many will reach in practice), so that would make about 1350bfp in total.
You dont need to play the full 60 minutes with this system to get a reward, if you play 40 minutes you will get the reward for the 40 minutes (unlike the current booster-quest where you get nothing if you play 29minutes). So 40 minutes playtime will let you drain 166bfp from the daily boost if nothing was carried over from previous days.
With these values you need to play 48 minutes to be able to buy a booster each day if nothing was carried over from previous days and you finish 2 quests in that time. The next day you would need to play even less because a part of the leftover daily-boost is transfered to the next day which let you drain the daily boost a bit faster.
Several suggestions like this have been made, but nothing concrete has been decided yet. It is not a priority right now but it will be on the agenda in the future for sure.

There was a bug with the change of year. Devs are already on it to prevent it next year, but it looks like nothing can be done to correct it for this year.

We are planning to add more achievements, specially focused on mid-game and end-game. So it is good to make suggestions for them as all input we can get is appreciated.
Please also consider achievements that are not just focused around individual cards as well.

Right now it is technically not possible because of the networking structure of the game. If it ever becomes possible this suggestion will for sure be put on the todo list.

    Hey everyone,
I have something new that I want to share with you.
In the last two days I tried something new and built a simple Discord Bot that allows you to set notifications for card prices.

    DISCLAIMER:
Please note that to use the automated notifications you will have to subscribe to the bot, meaning that you need to confirm that your publicly visible Discord ID and all your personal notification settings for this bot are stored in one of my databases. You can unsubscribe at any time, which deletes all your user data including all notification settings for this bot from the database, never to be recovered.

Here are some things it can do right now:
Set multiple notifications for different cards with criteria for when there are buyout prices below (for buying) or only buyout prices above (for selling) a set price available Unset all notifications for a specific card, so you can set new ones, if your criteria change Unset a specific notification Show all your current notification settings Show all current buyout prices for the cards you have set notifications for Show all current buyout prices for a specific card, or cards that include a specific set of characters (no subscription needed) I set the Bot up so that it checks for new data frequently and sends notifications each time a previously set criteria is met, which should be not later than 1.5 minutes after new data is available from the API.

If you are okay with subscribing, just want to use it for displaying the buyout prices of a card or simply want to stay updated on changes to my website or bot, join my myDiscord Server and start interacting with the bot in your DMs. If you joined the server, when the bot was not online, simply DM the bot with !help once it is online again. You can join it here:
    https://discord.gg/m5Dm5fweSV
Also, since I haven't spent a lot of time with programming this little bot (or Discord Bots in general) yet, there might still be some issues and other stuff, like a not so understandable command documentation or the nonexistent description on my Discord server.

Nonetheless, I hope you still like it and find this simple bot useful.

Or we realize that achievements are supposed to remain what they are: achievements. Not every achievement is for everyone and just because some players cannot finish it, is absolutely no reason to get rid of them. If anything, I would consider the reserves achievement to be the best achievement we have thus far. I have read so many players who had as goal to complete this achievement and felt rewarded once they did so. If achievements are too easy they stop being rewarding or have any meaningful impact. Plus you totally defeat the purpose of having said achievements.

There are different achievements for different people. Calling this achievement not achievable is very unfair, especially considering more than 15% of players have already completed it.

    Fellow Skylords and Cute Beings,
As second person to ever complete “Among the Old Gods” achievement in Battleforge, I started using title “The Old God of Battleships”. As we learn from King of the World himself, best way of starting a cult is being friendly and helpful. Therefore I wish you will enjoy this read, aimed at providing you with both comprehensive and powerful knowledge.

    Introduction

The thread is aimed at players who struggle with Among the Old Gods. In order to complete the achievement, you have to win all campaign missions on expert difficulty. You will be rewarded generously in 8 General Boosters. Many maps have different exploits and tricks that may make the map trivial – however, as they feel unfair, require particular cards and may be removed by developers, they are not covered here.
Deck choice usually is irrelevant when it comes to expert difficulty. The important aspect is to specialise your deck for each map, and prepare it for particular threats you may encounter. On my first playthrough I have completed the campaign with  Pure Frost deck, as it is my favourite faction. It was before first balance patch, so back then all factions were weaker and had lower amount of viable cards. Pure Fire still may struggle with the achievement, nonetheless, overall you should be able to finish the campaign with your favourite PvE faction. There is no need to sacrifice fun for playing meta, as there is no “the only correct way” – the only limits are in your head.

    Approach is important
Expert is not meant to be easy.
    Try, lose, improve.
This is how humans become better – by making mistakes and learning from them. Thanks to the guide, you can learn on my mistakes and significantly decrease amount of necessary tries to complete the achievement. Pay attention to which enemies you will face, what is their position, weak points and how to exploit the situation. Check map topography to quickly reach Power Wells and intercept enemy attacks. Learn attack timings and understand triggers. [1] Be prepared and do not leave anything to a chance. You will come across problems – enemy attack too strong to deal with, restricted access to cards or monuments, mechanics that doesn’t work like you expected.

[1]. Trigger is a condition that starts a particular event. For example in Behind Enemy Lines if you destroy any of spawners that are nearby your Tier 2 locations, enemy waves will become significantly stronger and use specialised units. Keeping spawners alive allows you to explore the map and prepare defence in a more relieved way.

    Explore. Adapt. Overcome.
There are many cards in Battleforge that are neglected and overlooked, as they are not as flexible as the most popular choices. If someone told me I would be using Icefang Raptor to complete Ocean, or pre-rework Sunken Temple to win Soultree with Pure Nature, I would laugh, as those cards seemed worthless to me. I was wrong, niche cards are awesome in niche situations. When you will start looking for solutions, you will notice those little gems in your collection.
If you are looking for something cheap and solid, you may want to check @Weak1ings ‘s deck, as he was the first person to complete Among the Old Gods, he used an affordable flexible meta deck.

    Weak1ings' deck:

Make sure to use what you already have to forge your path to victory, possibly in an unique way. Amii Monument may make many missions easier – however, it is easy to get lazy because of it, and majority of maps are difficult due to situations that happen before you reach Tier 3.

Thanks and the Title suggestion is a great idea and one that I can easily implement.
The idea of a favorite list is something that I played around with as well, maybe in combination with other features that I thought of which would be quite easy with a log in feature, but that's for after the overhaul.
Edit:  The Titles of the pages are now the respective Names of the pages.

    Nice work.
One small suggestion: When looking at a card page, could you add the name of the card to the title of the page?
So when you have multiple tabs open in your browser, you know which is which.

Of course it would be even nicer if everyone could make his/her own list of cards to follow and view a summary of the list prices on one page.

Yeah they stay true to their words from the beginning and make a fair start for all... how annoying, couldn't predict that. How dare they not lie!
But honestly i can't wait. Makes the best christmas present there is for me.
