    Or we realize that achievements are supposed to remain what they are: achievements. Not every achievement is for everyone and just because some players cannot finish it, is absolutely no reason to get rid of them. If anything, I would consider the reserves achievement to be the best achievement we have thus far. I have read so many players who had as goal to complete this achievement and felt rewarded once they did so. If achievements are too easy they stop being rewarding or have any meaningful impact. Plus you totally defeat the purpose of having said achievements.

    There are different achievements for different people. Calling this achievement not achievable is very unfair, especially considering more than 15% of players have already completed it.

    Likely our biggest and only form of advertisement for now will be contacting youtubers, magazines, streamers etc. to write or talk about our project, or even better to play and share that experience with others. The open stress phase was very useful to fix prominent bugs, but now we need to also first make sure our servers still work properly when there are many more players online. Since release me and zyna have already fixed a couple of issues that were not easily detectable with lower player base. The servers are handling it very well and release could almost not have gone better, but we just want to make sure that any possible issues due to the increase in players are fixed first before we start actively advertising using the previously mentioned methods.

    The release finally happened and we can play this awesome game again. Our community is expanding and more and more challengers step into the sparring grounds but... who will be the Champion? Let us find out with the first 1on1 tournament!
     
    Format?
    EDIT: Since an overwhelming number of participants entered the tournament the format will be best of one (one match) in round 1-5 and then return to the regular best of 3 (2-3matches) in the winner bracket. The lower bracket will be played best of one round 1-7.

    1st place  - 2000 BFP
    2nd place - 1200 BFP
    3rd place - 800 BFP
    4th place - 500 BFP
    And one free Boosterpack for everyone participating!

    When?
    On 03.01.21  starting on 2pm CET (Berlin time), the stream will start about 30 minutes in advance.
     
    Organisation?
    The tournament brackets will be on Challonge, so register and join the tournament there. Please use your in game account name to make communication and finding your enemy easier.
    The streaming channel that will be covering the tournament is DasToggy on twitch.tv.
    In case of problems contact me or one of my mods via Discord, Battleforge or in the stream.

    Rules!
    -No bugabuse, cheating or insulting the other players. Penalties may vary from a warning to default loss.
    -Disconnection during a game results in a default loss. If both sides agree it is possible to have a remake.
    -Not showing up to your match after 15 minutes results in a default loss. The plan is to play a round of matches every ~30 mins.
    -After your match, go to Challonge and insert the result. That is done by clicking on your match and selecting the winner/stats . The brackets will be updated automatically.
    -The Map Pool is:
    1st round: Haladur, 2nd round: Simai, 3rd round: Wazhai, 4th: Elyon, 5th: Lajesh, 6th: Uro and 7th: Yrmia (same pool as in ranked duel). The first match (and only match in best of one) of the round will be played on the fixed map, then it is losers choice.  The winning player (who won the last match in this bo3) also has to lock in his deck first.
    -The brackets for the tournament will be shuffled before the tournament starts.
    -Use your account name for the tournament. If your Challonge account differs from your Battleforge account name use the "Sign up with an alternate name" feature. Finding your opponent will be a LOT easier this way.
    If you do not register for the tournament with your Battleforge name we cannot find you for the booster.

    Well it would be stupid if everyone get so much boosters for nothing.It took me about 3-4 hours to get my reserves under 25 and i think its good system,bcs if reserves drain like normal everybody would get that boosters so easy and where is enjoy in that?

    At what point the game becomes 'too much easy'?  The guys made everything possible to be on the side of casual gamers that cannot play as much as others and tried to make the experience smooth for them as well since they can't pay up to catch up as in every other game. 

    But here we are talking about 4 hours around of gameplay. If you can't even afford to give 4 hours of gameplay on a random day of your choosing  then I am sorry but how much easier do you want the game to become? 

    Helping people with time issues is one thing, making the game a bit tonned down to assist the fact that p2w is removed is acceptable and demanded obviously. But dismissing the entire community of hundreds to be on the side of the few that can't even afford a few hours ONCE to get the boosters, then we shoot the game in the foot ourselves.

    Yep, the point is that these are achievements, not straight up free boosters. You only need to get below those thresholds once, and then never again. Maybe you've not managed it in the past couple of weeks, I know I haven't, but that doesn't make it a bad system. I'm sure at some point in the next few months/years we'll be able to dedicate the time to do this.
    Saying "it's to long" is like saying you should only need to play one match with the various deck types to get the mini booster that comes with the top tier of those achievements, and just devalues it. As a casual player myself, I think the team have done an amazing job reworking the system - for playing 45 mins a day you likely get 50%+ of the rewards of someone who plays every single hour of the day.

    As second person to ever complete “Among the Old Gods” achievement in Battleforge, I started using title “The Old God of Battleships”. As we learn from King of the World himself, best way of starting a cult is being friendly and helpful. Therefore I wish you will enjoy this read, aimed at providing you with both comprehensive and powerful knowledge.

     
    Introduction

    The thread is aimed at players who struggle with Among the Old Gods. In order to complete the achievement, you have to win all campaign missions on expert difficulty. You will be rewarded generously in 8 General Boosters. Many maps have different exploits and tricks that may make the map trivial – however, as they feel unfair, require particular cards and may be removed by developers, they are not covered here.
    Deck choice usually is irrelevant when it comes to expert difficulty. The important aspect is to specialise your deck for each map, and prepare it for particular threats you may encounter. On my first playthrough I have completed the campaign with  Pure Frost deck, as it is my favourite faction. It was before first balance patch, so back then all factions were weaker and had lower amount of viable cards. Pure Fire still may struggle with the achievement, nonetheless, overall you should be able to finish the campaign with your favourite PvE faction. There is no need to sacrifice fun for playing meta, as there is no “the only correct way” – the only limits are in your head.
     
    Approach is important
    Expert is not meant to be easy.
    Try, lose, improve.
    This is how humans become better – by making mistakes and learning from them. Thanks to the guide, you can learn on my mistakes and significantly decrease amount of necessary tries to complete the achievement. Pay attention to which enemies you will face, what is their position, weak points and how to exploit the situation. Check map topography to quickly reach Power Wells and intercept enemy attacks. Learn attack timings and understand triggers. [1] Be prepared and do not leave anything to a chance. You will come across problems – enemy attack too strong to deal with, restricted access to cards or monuments, mechanics that doesn’t work like you expected.
     
    [1]. Trigger is a condition that starts a particular event. For example in Behind Enemy Lines if you destroy any of spawners that are nearby your Tier 2 locations, enemy waves will become significantly stronger and use specialised units. Keeping spawners alive allows you to explore the map and prepare defence in a more relieved way.
     
    Explore. Adapt. Overcome.
    There are many cards in Battleforge that are neglected and overlooked, as they are not as flexible as the most popular choices. If someone told me I would be using Icefang Raptor to complete Ocean, or pre-rework Sunken Temple to win Soultree with Pure Nature, I would laugh, as those cards seemed worthless to me. I was wrong, niche cards are awesome in niche situations. When you will start looking for solutions, you will notice those little gems in your collection.
    If you are looking for something cheap and solid, you may want to check @Weak1ings ‘s deck, as he was the first person to complete Among the Old Gods, he used an affordable flexible meta deck.

    Make sure to use what you already have to forge your path to victory, possibly in an unique way. Amii Monument may make many missions easier – however, it is easy to get lazy because of it, and majority of maps are difficult due to situations that happen before you reach Tier 3.

    Merry Christmas everyone,

    We hope you all are having a jolly time. Christmas has also reached Nyn, and therefore we'd like to give all of you a little special present. Yesterday we added a new ingame achievement which will be active until 31.12.2020 and will allow you to earn Santa Claus as a card!

    Furthermore, we're quite satisfied with how well the release launch went. There have only been minor issues and hiccups, which all were fixed relatively quickly. However, with the increase in playerbase and player activity since release, we have to take extra measures to ensure we have healthy servers. One of those measures will be an automated weekly server maintenance. This means that from now on you can expect the servers to go down every Wednesday at 7:30AM CET for a brief moment (couple of minutes at maximum), after which you will be able to play again. There will a Discord and multiple ingame notifications when the servers go into maintenance. We hope you understand this measure.

    We are currently also working on a roadmap on what you can expect from future updates. One major topic on that roadmap will be balancing changes to cards.
    As some of you might have heard already, we've been working on some changes for the last couple of months. We believe the balance between factions has drastically improved, especially in regards to factions which start with nature and frost in PvP. Therefore, the first iteration of those changes will be released on the live server on the 01.01.2021. A detailed list of changes will be released within the upcoming week, but you can already view the current list of changes from the public test server on the community wiki.

    Skylords Reborn: This is the main discord server, run by official moderaters from the Skylords Reborn team. Here you can find announcments, development updates, links to the test server, and general chat rooms. Skylords Reborn Balance Changes: This is an official discord, used for discussing balance changes. You can't participate in most channels unless you are voted as a "community representative," but you can read the discussion, offer thoughts in a general channel, or PM a representative with your suggestion. Skylords Tutors and Apprentices: This was originally for PvP tutoring, but has evolved to a place where anyone can ask for help (but most members are PvP players). I don't think it's an official discord, but @Ultrakool is still one of the moderators Skylords Reborn Creator's Guild: This is an unofficial discord. This is a discord for content creators to come together and help each other. If you are interested in growing the largest BattleForge youtube channel, this is the community to join. Skylords Map Community:This is an unofficial discord, for map creators! Skylords Reborn PvP: This is an unoffical discord for PvP matchmaking, set up by @felkin Allegedly there's a Russian discord server as well, for helping translate the game for Russians that don't speak another language. If you make a BattleForge related discord in the future, you can also write a post here and I'll add it to the main list.

    Everyone constantly only looks at the promo announcements and nothing else. At the time of writing less than 0.02% of cards are promos. Keep in mind that not everyone will trade their promos, not everyone will use their promos constantly and in the late game people will get less boosters than now. They are much rarer than everyone thinks from the announcements.
    I bet if we were to turn off the announcements everyone would think it is completely fine how rare the promos are.

Keep in mind that not everyone will trade their promos, not everyone will use their promos constantly and in the late game people will get less boosters than now. They are much rarer than everyone thinks from the announcements.
    I bet if we were to turn off the announcements everyone would think it is completely fine how rare the promos are.

    DESCRIPTION: Game crashes consistently by picking 4-player rPvE after having played a campaign map. Re-logging and trying to play rPVE still crashes to desktop.

    REPRODUCIBILITY: Can keep doing it consistently even after logging in.

    Unfortunately the installer is detected as some type of harmful virus, even though it is not. Why it is being marked as a virus is beyond me, and believe me, it is extremely annoying for us considering we've put thousands of hours to make everything work properly and then there are issues like these. We don't do anything harmful and never will.

    As you might know, we will also have a progression reset alongside this release. This means everyone's progress (this includes cards, BFP, gold, upgrades etc.) will be reset on release day. So hold back just a little if you were planning to play before release (or don't if you don't mind losing the progress). We have always said that there will be a reset on release date and it will definitely happen. If you would like to follow what we are up to and what is still left to be done before release, you can do so by looking at our Trello here.
    On another note, we are looking for new staff members!
    With the game being more stable and bug-free than ever before, and the upcoming release, we will start to look for ways to expand on the current game. This includes adding cards and maps, doing card and map balance changes, holding events and tournaments etc. And this is where we need your help. Listed below are three positions which will be open for applications. If you want to offer your help you can do so by applying in the recruitment section here on the forum. Please apply in the `Development` section and specify what role you would like to fulfill.
        - Designer: Design game mechanics related to progression/quests/rewards. 
        - Map Scripters: Fixes bugs in map scripts, and assists the map designers with map scripting.
        - Map Designers: Makes new maps, or polishes existing maps so they can be added as official to the game.

    Hello everyone.
    I'll keep it short. Past few months, I've been working on our web API that is completely public and available for everyone to use. I've also created simple, functional (but stylistically not very pretty) user interfaces that visualize and consume the said API.
    User interface applications are open-sourced on my GitHub. The repository also contains complete instructions on how to consume the API yourselves, if you were to decide to create your own frontend applications. But, you have to be somewhat profficient in web development to understand and begin doing stuff on your own. 
    Issues tab is to be used freely for any and all suggestions and bug reports.
    Pull Requests that improve and extend the existing UIs are more than welcome. After manual review, they might get merged into the master branch and appear as a part of the next website update.

Have in mind these applications are also the first version, they will definetly get improved and extended, as well as the API.
    For some of you, these applications and the API open up whole lot of possibilities.
    For example, now you could create an application that tracks the average price of every card and makes a nice graph. You could even extend the search options with card orbs, expansion, rarity, etc. 
    Or you could create an application that tracks all auctions for a specific card and sends you a mail or push notification when a card appears on the auction house, but is equal or below the specified price.
    Average concurrent players/matches graph could be visualized by querying the Statistics API every 2/5/X minutes.
    Those of you who understood everything said and know what you're doing, will use this to its maximum potential.

    Greetings Skylords, Skyladies and Skyfolk,
    We are about one week away from release and with that we would like to share our schedule and plans around release. This way you know what to expect.

    December 16, 2020: We will reset everyone's progression in preparation for the reset on actual release day. This allows us to make sure our systems work properly after a reset and to potentially fix any remaining issues that could be caused by resetting the progression of all our players. A progression reset means you will lose your gold, BFP, cards, boosters, PvE and PvP ranks, friends lists, auctions etc.  Both the main server and the test server will stay online and you can continue to play the game. Any in-game items gained after this initial progression reset will not be carried over after release.

    December 17, 2020: The main server will be closed until release. This will give us time to prepare the server for release and to fix any potential issues found with the reset from the previous day. During this downtime everyone's progression will be reset for release and you will be asked to create a new in-game character when you login for the first time after release. You do not need to create a new account for release and can login with your current account after release. The test server will still be open throughout the release period. The server will likely be closed in the evening (UTC).

    December 18, 2020: Release date. This is the day we will put the servers online again and is the day you can join and start playing again with a fresh start. After this day there will be no more resets so you can play/grind all you want. Depending on how drastically the player base suddenly increases, we might have to resort to putting a limit on the number of people allowed on the server at a time. Our current server is very performant and should be able to handle a lot more players than it currently is, so even though we don't expect to need to do this, you never know. There will also be a countdown livestream on our twitch channel https://www.twitch.tv/skylordsreborn, after which we will open the servers again. The release will likely happen in the afternoon (UTC).

    We hope everything is clear. If you have any remaining questions feel free to ask them and we will update this post accordingly.
