I agree that the looter ability is the main problem from thugs but to completely remove an ability is the wrong approach.

Just by changing the effect from gaining power out of nothing to gaining power out of void would be already good enough i think.

But since i think that is not possible for the devs to handle a slight Hp or Dmg nerf would be already good enough as a nerf to just lower the threat of them a bit or maybe increase the cost to 65 power. Sure it would make them also worse against Frost and Nature but they are anyway bad in this matchups. I dont think they ever play a big role in pve since Nomads or Scavenger is way better due to the swift and mine combo and the fact that pve mobs dont give power from the looter ability.

Want to quickly thank Kubik for his great work. His openness, friendliness and willingness to communicate (towards me at least, cannot assess the climate in your team)
and the hard work he put in this project.

But the others are right, the dirty laundry should not be aired in public. Clarifies this in private and remains professional.

Wish you all the best on your further ways Kubik.

Let's all not get too heated up about this and chill for a moment.

First of all, let's establish this: Yes, we enforce our policies. I'm not entirely sure how this is striking the OP so much, but we have different departments handling different situations. When it is this apparent that we are focused on keeping the game environment as safe and healthy as we can, and the rules are referred to often, it should be notable that definitely not all workforce is focused around this, and dedicated developers are working on improving the game as we gather more data from players.
If it wasn't clear so far, Skylords Reborn is in an Open Stress Test (Beta) state right now. What this means is that although features and gameplay are present, in-game bugs (such as disconnects) may occur, and we are using the game this way to gather data on when such problems arise, how frequent and conditional these issues are, and how we can tackle them before going into a more "stable" state of the game. This is literally the main purpose of a Beta; to stress test the server and to iron out bugs that we either missed before, haven't been able to tackle yet, or require more data from more players to figure out. That doesn't mean the game environment is lawless either, and rules will still be enforced accordingly. We wouldn't want an abusive game with nothing but toxicity, insults, disrespect and trash talking going around, now would we? This is an environment with potentially unstable behaviour and regular rule enforcement.
You, as a player, were completely aware of this when you signed up on the forums and installed the game, and therefore I am sorry to say I see zero justification for the reasoning behind your anger. Complaining and shouting will really not get you anywhere; it won't make us work better or faster, it won't improve the game, and it won't help you out with your problems either. Luckily we have a great alternative for you that will actually be productive for the game and hopefully rid you of those pesky disconnects soon enough: whenever you do encounter a problem in-game, head to the forums or discord and report your issue to the team, sending your logs, all while maintaining a civil attitude. Now that might be a hassle, but it is certainly more productive than registering senseless complaints, and it can help all of us on the long run, including yourself. Win-win.
    Make bug reports, not war.

Yeah pretty much that is my problem with Yrmia, overall i think it is a great map, but against Fire you can be cliffed very hard, and through all the chokepoints CCs, Aoe spells, Wildfire, or Air Units can be used very effective. If it would only favor Frost then i would not even have a problem with it since every colour have some advantages on different maps, but pure fire is even without cliffs/walls a very strong colour. Ok also Fire/Nature or Fire/Frost (shielded dragons) is far away to be fun to battle on this map.
  5. felkin liked a post in a topic by ImperatorSK in Strongest PvP Deck?
Some Matchups can be pretty hard for some Decks (like Pure Fire vs Pure Frost), but every deck have in some scissors stone paper
style good and bad matchups. But overall the better player will win in the most cases.

For me Pure Fire and Shadow/Frost are the strongest decks. And Shadow/Frost, Pure Frost or Pure Shadow need the least effort to climb ranks. Frost t1 can be played pretty spammy and will not be punished in lower rankings, and Shadow has a overall good t1 with strong abilitys.
Also a buffed Harvester or a Wareagle spam was easy to play and pretty effective in lower rankings (until higher gold) ^^.

Yeah i also dont get the point of increasing the booster price, cause boosters are expensive anyways, and a gamble if you need specific cards.

In the end that would just result in about the same prices for the trash cards and in higher prices for the important key cards, so it will change not much except that even less people buy booster and so also less selling cards.

btw. i think the pvp quest is too much work compared to all other quests, through the low player base. The requirements should be like 2-3 matches (but not 4), cause even as someone that loves pvp i often prefer to roll it to something else. And there is one quest that said play in any game mode where pvp do not seem to count

Yea I agree Lajesh is really one of the most unfun maps in the game. A removal is needed.

I already voted for Yrmia (remove it) so i cannot change my vote and vote for Wazhai or generated maps.

I really want generated maps back, they were alot of fun, especially the ones where there is enough room to split up and have awesome t1 fights.

I have to agree, without Phasetower and Mortar there will be hopefully more Nature and Frost T1s in the tournament which is better to watch and not really hurt the balance too much. Also Cursed Well is a card that is not that bad, but no one really want to watch battles with it.

    Hey,
For those who don't know me, I am Taker, a 23 year old pure fire player from Germany. I played battleforge since the Renegade beta (with several breaks), where I was in the top 10 for several years.
At the moment I am playing at about 128k ELO (Grandmaster) and still playing pure fire.

I decided to stream some of my ladder sessions.
Probably it will only be possible at weekends, because otherwise there won't be enough people playing ranked PvP and even less around my ELO.
On stream I simply play either ranked or sparring. I will commentate the games while playing, at least I try so.

I try to comment here whenever the stream is online.

Let me know what u think about it.

Sure Amii Monument is a very usefull Card, but i mainly see the issue in Speedruns. pve and rpve is easy anyways as soon as you reach t3 you have so many cheap tactics. So for me Amii Monument is more like a convenience card for casual player to save time and not really one of the worst cards right now. I think there are other cards that not only save time but can make some situations just cheap like Void manipulation cards (Just spam the shit out of spells and dont fear disadvantages, the easy comeback card if you fail)

To all none helpfull and "hate/disappointed" comments, I really wish in one point of your life you encounter the situation these lovely devs are in. Their lives are stressful enough even as it without this project. I want you all to understand that they are under a lot of pressure to release it asap so we could all be happy. I bet that most of them have never worked on anything close to the scale of this project. And to top that, they are doing it in their own free time, not to get paid, but for the love of the game and it's playerbase.
I wish you all a good night!

QUOTE: "When bugs like "accepting group invites causing the crash of the world server" got fixed just now, then it seems like there is still a very long way to go until the game is ready for an OB release."
ANSWER: There is a lot of context missing from those kinds of changes, because I tend to simplify and generalize those changes for the public so people can read nice changelog instead of the one few pages long, which is pointless and boring, both to write and read.

QUOTE: "The "in no time" line was already a month ago."
ANSWER: So? "in no time" is not a valid period/interval of the time itself, thus can last anywhere from 1 month to 1 year (in my point of view).

QUOTE: "I'm obviously not a programmer but to me it seems very possible that it could very well take another few months until the game is ready for an OB release. "
ANSWER: Yes, sorry for trying to make this game as bug free as possible. Rather have a stable and working game with satisfied community than unstable and crashing one with people raging for the inability of having servers up for consistent 12 hours.

QUOTE: "Statements like the above cause unnecessary hype, and when hyped up expectations can't be fulfilled there will be disappointment and ultimately hate. "
ANSWER: That statement was not intended to create any more hype, I just can't see how you got that feeling out of it.

Should anyone write big bullshit, or insult other Users feel free to downvote. But if he just call his own opinion and you just do not agree, discuss, but do not expect that he will change his mind.

In a forum everyone is free to express his own opinion, as long as he behaves politely and does not violate the forum guidelines.

So have fun playing against always the same Decks in ranking, i bet in a short amount of time the playerbase of pvp will die. And if they are away also Hardcore pvp player will leave cause they can not find matchups (will be still hard with a that small player base).  I will definitely look how its work, but if i cant play other decks with different charakters the play fun will be fast gone.

Elo trading is not really an issue in a low playerbase game like this, there was a player in the old Battleforge who buy his elo from other player and even paid some High ranks for playing his Account, but then everyone knew in no time how he came to his rank. If that player try to play itself on his account he would just have dropped without end (im not going to call a name, but i think any high rank player know anyway which player i mean)
  19. ImperatorSK liked a post in a topic by DuellLord in Multiple Accounts
I know I wrote most of the following some times before in earlier threads. But I think this is a very important question for the game.
First, like @RadicalX mentioned, multiple characters/accounts are necessary for the diversity of played fractions. Especially the smaller community (@MrXLink) would mean, that in higher levels (from about earlier blue rank) you meet everytime the same 20 players (just a arbitrarily number) with the same 20 decks (maybe 5 of them will alternate between 2 or maybe even 3). Not very motivating about some month...Same effect will be in the middle ranks (gold) in a weaker expression.
Just the fact that you as a lower player will meet with higher probabillity a much better player isnt really a convincingly point: Because of the matchmaking-system you meet every rank after a minute or two anyway. This was in old BF depending on the time of the day on average every third match (valued). Because of your mentioned maybe smaller community this will be not really better. But even I think this point can be adjusted: Give the multiple characters on their start an aditionally basic elo not to far away from the "main character" of this account.
The Sparring ground is NO alternative to ranked for testing because of some reasons. ( @MephistoRoss; @MrXLink )
First you need a lot of more games than 10 or 20 for reaching a comparable level with a new fraction to your main fraction -> less diversity in ranked.
Secondly in the ranking queue it will be even more difficult to find a good/fitting opponent because of the splitting -> more fights highrank against beginners -> more frustrating for both. @NedDeppat Do you really think I have fun to follow fleeing werebeasts over the whole map to waste 5 minutes for getting 10 elo???
Even the problem with "unfair" elo-lose isnt really a valid point. In the first weeks of ranked the elo will not say really much about the skill anyway because of the different number of games different players made. After a while, if the elo nearly says something about the skill my mentioned above suggestion with the adapted basic elo would work. A bit imbalance in elo system is existing too, if I play different decks on the same account and character, because if I play my elo down with a new deck somebody can earn easier elo, if I play it up with my usual fraction I will take away more elo of my opponents than they deserve.
The problem of daily rewards can solved if you only can get it on one account (and not on each different character) only one time per day.
Last thing is that I remember someone of the staff explained, that its technically just not possible to find out who is smurfing and not. I know some people playing from the same house than an other player (family, friend ....). So its doubtful to make a rule which observance can not be checked exactly.
All in all i can understand there here are some concerns about smurfing, but if you think about the whole topic in details, there are some reasons pro smurfing and no indisputatable reasons against. All in all the game would profit on allowing smurfs clearly in the purpose of a higher activity of the players. So please rethink about your current decision against smurfs/multicharacters.

I strongly disagree, i think the other mentioned motives like anonymity, ranked anxiety, ELO loss prevention with new decks or fun decks played a far bigger roll. I won't deny players used to do the things you describe but your painting a far too dark picture.
I want to repeat a point wich too many new players don't consider: The ELO and matchmaking system produces faaar more unfair matchups than all smurfs combined.
An example where the activity system leads to such: An experienced player with emperor rank (blue shield, no dots) only has time to play on the weekend. Over the week his inactivity makes him lose quite a few ranks. When he starts playing on friday he's going to run through a bunch of gold and lower blue ranked players first, every week until he got back his full activity bonus. This activity system is totaly overcompensating imo, a player that doesn't play 3 weeks isn't going to go drop from blue ranked to bronze level skillwise but the inactivity penalty drops him to those ranks.
The other problematic system is the matchmaking itself, wich has already been discussed a lot in other threads...if the PvP population isn't going to explode suddenly and you're from america chances are you're never going to have matches wich are completly fair.
If the aim is completly fair matchmaking, eliminating smurfing is one step, but it's a really small one, the big bloodhorn in the room is the matchmaking/activity system.

If you have all your characters on one account there is no problem with elo-boosting against yourself, because you cant logg in with two computers on the same time in one account.
Anyway in old bf there was never a real problem with people who trade elo between their accounts. Because of the small community it would be noticed from other players, if someone wins for example 5000 elo in one night so people know that other players would laugh about them because of this
