Majority of rts players play vs AI, thats normal. Or if they play pvp, its team games.
There are problems in pvp duels with map pool and balance, but the biggest problem i see is the lack of comeback mechanic and poor win condition together.
A small mistake can lead to defeat very fast.
(Giving out lvl 120 pvp decks for free was a good idea)
As for T4 not being viable in pvp is normal, and should be never viable.
In Dawn of War 2 which is very similar game to BF, the pvp is same and the "problems" are the same. Some players argue that T3 (equal as T4 BF) should be more viable in 1v1, but they only say this cos the game offers those units, but u wont use them and its a heartbreak.
In DW2 one comeback mechanic (opjective) is the area control for victory points, which leads to victory also.
But getting resources are very important too (its also has 2 type of resources instead of 1 like in BF), however losing resource farms, doesnt cut away unit production or it is not tied directly to victory condition. This is not the case in BF.
Everything is tied to the resource buildings. If you lose the building you lose everything. there is only 2 option to make this better.
Either make the buildings tankier or introduce a 2. objective/ win condition for the game.
As for making a building tankier, we could have buffs with long cooldown which can be activated and affects all orbs and power buildings, making them invulnerable for x time. This is something Dota is using to compensate.
Another help could be also giving powergain by default for orbs.
Fog of War: playing BF again i was shocked that there is no fog of war in pvp. this should be enabled?

They drive me fucking nuts when they run off to fight. I would love it you could disable their ability to fight so they only repair, no matter what. Wouldn't even mind if you removed their damage entirely.

Premade decks are all 100% known. With this in mind, one could make counter decks much more easily, or at very least be much more prepared against the exact same deck.
The free decks provide a very good base, but are by no means perfect. Therefore if you alter and adapt your deck, you will be much better off than using the free decks forever.
You can then use the bfp you earned and gold to upgrade those counter cards. The only thing the free pvp decks does is give a good base.

It's very unfortunate that many cards just don't have any use in RPVE. Most of them are defensive cards, like Razorleaf, Stronghold and the like, but also some very slow units like Battleship. This is mostly because these Units/Buildings are stationary, slow or mostly geared towards defense, while RPVE is all about offense.
To counter this, I suggest adding a new RPVE-Mode where you have to mostly defend youself against waves of enemies, unlocking access to new orbs and generators by defeating boss waves.
I know that this is hardly a priority so short after launch and that it will be a ton of work (map generation, scripting, testing ...), so I don't expect to see anything like this for the next months, but I do think it would be worthwhile to add variety to RPVE in the long run.

Dropping in here to say that without the free PVP decks i wouldn't play the game at all.
I used to enjoy PVP and only did PVE for the upgrades; which i don't have time or ambitious for anymore. So the free PVP decks increased the playerbase by 1 (me) atleast.

All those agains free PvP deck - please realize that PvP is endangered mode. It needs certain critical mass to be playable - you need enough players online. During beta this was not the really the case. Something had to be changed and free PvP is it. It does the following
- removes huge barrier to entry for newcomers (described above multiple times)
- Hooks players for longer time. E.g. in orignal BF I had to invest some money and time to get one deck. At that point I was very reluctant to do it again to build some different PvP decks. But this barrier made me lose interest gradually. With free PvP decks everyone can "spice it up", try different factions and thus keeping players hooked for longer.
When you are arguing that you like to grind you mean for your favourite PvP deck. Have you considered trying different faction? Add 3+ more "grinds" on top of what is needed for your deck to actually have all PvP factions available.
Also, I dont think that splitting PvP modes is good idea - at least until the plaerbase is really really large enough

I mean, you can still grind? But now you can also play (2) decks while you wait
And so you are not at a disadvantage vs someone just because you didn't grind enough, and newcomers can get directly into PvP without having to grind their way around.
There are still many cards missing that can't capture every possible deck combo; I probably play 3-5 pvp decks every day, and many times I change out another 4-5 cards each deck depending on how I'm feeling
The free decks give dedicated pvp players access to pvp with no barrier except if they want certain tech cards. Anyone interested in grinding for pve must still use the regular, unupgraded cards.

There have been no balance changes on the live servers yet. The game currently is balancing wise still as EA left it. First balancing changes will come to the live servers with the beginning of the new year.
The wiki balancing page only shows the iterations that were tested on the live server, nothing there is guranteed to ship to the live servers, but the list does contain all things that could ship to live.

The abilities on both Ironclad affinities have an initial cooldown of ~15s which is not state on the card description.

Just wanted to make a topic and tell all you devs that are behind this, that you are amazing! Even tho there are some problems right now with server issues and so, i won't complain afterall its a stress test!. I just can't wait to see what happens in the future. I was so nostalgic when i got into the forge and messed around with the cards and open the 2 boosters. I got to play 1 game and its just as good as i remember.
I know my account here is new but i have been following you guys for a long time on other sites! So keep up the amazing work, you should be proud! can't wait for the more stable versions but i will still try now and report bugs and help you guys.

Shortly put, we endorse neither of those actions. There has been a lot of discussion going over this in the past, and we are of mind that smurfing heavily disrupts the ranked PvP scene and will, especially with an even smaller community that will rely heavily on newcomers, result in an insanely unfair PvP environment where matchmaking doesn't even matter anymore due to the sheer amount of artificially low-ranked pros dominating the entire game because they don't dare to face any opponents matched with when trying something new. This is not what ranked PvP is made for. Ranked PvP exists to test your PvP skills comparatively to people at the same level of you. Whether this is regardless of decks is debatable, but this is why unranked PvP exists, why there are Sparring Grounds. It's even in the term; Sparring Grounds. Sparring in boxing (and fighting) means that you're not landing your blows heavily so you can train. The same goes for the game; Sparring Grounds are for training your PvP skills without being judged harshly for it by the matchmaking system. This is, very briefly and shortly put, why we are against multiaccounting and it will result in bans. Smurfing destroys the purpose of the difference between ranked PvP and Sparring PvP, and your training needs are easily resolved by testing your new decks out in Sparring instead.
