@Lukaznid My point about the 10:1 ratio is that you should give rep equally. A lot of people tend to take good posts for granted. If you give someone negative rep because the post was mildly annoying, then you should give positive rep to every post you find mildly constructive. And because this site is really good, I think a 10:1 ratio of good posts vs bad posts on this forum is actually conservative (probably more like 40:1).  I try to give positive rep to only the best posts, and negative rep to only the worst. But whatever level--high or low--that you choose to give negative rep to, you should also give positive rep to that same level.

Well, status updates don't archive everything you've done, but there's certainly the impression that you give a lot of negative rep. Maybe you revised it, but I definitely recall there was one thread where you basically downvoted everyone who disagreed with you.

Anyway, if you want it to stop being "cool" to give you negative rep, just give more positive rep and less negative rep yourself .

I didn't search past 10 pages, but if you look at my rep activity, within 10 pages I have only given 1 negative rep, and that was for a profane, non-constructive, direct attack on another player. I've received 3 negative rep in those 10 pages. Sure, it's more than I've given, but it's still a small number. The basic recipe for getting negative rep is when you make someone angry. If you don't give negative rep (and you don't break the rules or insult other players), people will stop giving you negative rep. And if you give positive rep, even to those people you "dislike," it will go a long way toward mending hurt feelings.

I'm also curious...from what I've seen Dyonis isn't the villain everyone seems to think he is. Perhaps he can be a bit rude at times, and I'll agree that he handled the ban poorly, but he's also had his constructive times (mostly before all the neg-rep hat went down). Especially in this thank-you post, it would not have received all this negative rep if someone else had written it, for instance. I think this post was innocent and just expressing thanks. I mean, I did a similar thing once, where LagOps bumped a post he thought had been wrongfully negged, and I thanked him in the thread (didn't make a full front page status report about it though ). People need to stop giving Dyo negative rep for things that you wouldn't give other people negative rep for.

@DyonisX I think the reason everyone gives you negative rep wrongly is because you also give a lot of people negative rep wrongly, and they hold a grudge. There's a platitude "you get what you give." In other words, if you give lots of people positive rep, they'll be more likely to give YOU positive rep. And if you give negative rep, they'll be more likely to give you negative rep. When I look at your rep profile, you've actually given more negative rep than positive rep. IMO, that ratio should be roughly 10 positive reps for 1 negative rep. So if you want to give someone negative rep, you ought to give a bunch of people positive rep first

Now realize, I don't mean you should give people positive rep when they don't deserve it. But when someone posts something Battleforge related, or funny, or something that looks like it took a lot of time, people will see you as a much friendlier person if you give some positive rep. If you give too much positive rep for things "off topic" on the forum, that's also a problem.

Anyway, just thought I'd get this off my chest because I've seen a toxic situation develop, and Dyo really didn't start off this toxic. It seemed to just sort of mutually fester and I hope this helps diffuse the situation!

@Kaliber84 I'm not as good at SSBM, but I do play a little bit. (I don't own a Wii U, so I often play with a tournament Melee player because he has a melee setup).

Have you ever heard of netplay or 20XX melee? I can't play now because of my internet, but it would be cool to play some melee online when I get home.
