If you want to solve the issues with Frost at the start of the game (lack of swift units), you would seriously need to re-think how the faction works in T1. Right now, the slow start of Frost is one of the things that stops the faction from being too good in T1. It's not ideal, but it's not entirely broken either. Another possibility would be to balance the maps and diminish the early game advantage of swift units. But that should be a topic of its own and should involve people such as RadicalX.
As for the main topic: If a Fire/Frost faction would be made, it would realistically consist of re-skins of existing units (for the most part at least). I explored this idea many years ago and made some "coule-be" Fire/Frost cards accordingly. In case somebody's interested here are some of the edited cards and the link to the topic with all the cards I made.

It gets faster with the third update. Then it's as fast as most other XL-units.

Have you ever written a program?
If you can measure how long it will take you to fix bugs, you are probably the only one on the world.
I work over 40 hours per week on it, how can I count how long it will take from that?

--Updated/Corrected a few timesand doublechecked all times during the past days--
Kubik told me, that the times are not always correct in the replays.
That idea sounds really interesting and I would love to compete in such events. The only problem is, that there is only one full team doing the speedruns at the moment. So we are missing some competiton. Hopefully the number of full teams will increase to two at the end of this weekend. For the future we can do such events, but I think, there should be at least three active teams to make such events worth it. The reason for the Duo and Trio rankings is, that there could be more smaller teams compete each other. Otherwise you can say, that your team is the best in BF, but it is not better than any other team, since there is simply no other team playing at the moment.
  5. Navarr liked a post in a topic by Chibiterasu in Improvement to Tortuguns AI
I've played Totruguns for a very long time in the original Battleforge and they were my first deck I build in Skylords. A pure Tortugun Deck is by far my favorite deck because they are very strong but are a hell to manage. Perfect Risc and Reward unit. You got many things wrong about the AI of those turtles:
    1. They never walk in random directions when they are in amok state. When they become hungry, they will walk to the last place you told them before their amok state and only when they reached that place (even when it's on the other side of them map), they will look for food nearby and walk straight to that unit to eat it. (Pro Tip: You can hold Shift to give your units a path they shell go with more than one destination. With that you can tell your Tortugun to walk back and forth and they will ignore any friendly units until they finished that path even when they get in the amok state right away. This way you can delay the time when they will eat your own units and time it with the amok state of other Tortuguns.) When they are in Amok state and no friendly unit is nearby, they will just stay there until you send or spawn a unit next to them.
    2. They will always eat the unit that is closest to them. Not being able to eat their own kind would elimiate the most efficient way to play them. The best strategie is to cast 2 Tortuguns at almost the same time. This way they will also reach the amok state at the same time. You just have to feed one with the other. Then you got from 2 Tortuguns in amok state to 1 Tortugun with almost full stomach. Using Bloodhorn to feed them isn't ideal. Most of the time Bloodhorn isn't at full HP so the amok state is only delayed for a few seconds. Another way is to sacrifice the Tortuguns with Offering before they get hungry. That is a good strategy when you only have one Tortugun with low stomach (you can't offering them when they are in amok state though).
In general this unit need much care. You always have to pay attention to their stomach bars and think ahead. I don't think they need a better AI. Once you know how they behave, they are very consistence and every time they eat a unit you don't want them to eat, you know you didn't pay enough attention to them

So it's entertaining for you that your toxic behaviour is called out? Very interesting.
For me it doesn't look like you, one of the best PvE players, are interested in growing the speedrunning community and teaching them. You seem to be more interested in showing off how good of a player you are which seems to be the only reason why you even shared one tactic (Guns Of Lyr) that wasn't popular before. But it's your decision and i respect that. I'm just stating that I find your behaviour inappropriate - I have the strong impression that you enhance the toxicity in the already split up and not very cooperative pve community which is a bad thing because the player that has most rank 1s in PvE COULD be some kind of role model for the newer ones which would have some advantages. But as I said it's your decision which role you want to play here.
Also, as I stated multiple times: As a PvP player I am not interested in doing competitive PvE, I just like playing efficient and the current system forces me to play PvE if i want to play competitive PvP so I am obviously interested in using meta tactics (that were, in most part, not developped by you, Prit, even though you seem to want to think that). BTW: Getting some rank 1s when the month starts is a fun thing that isn't very competitive because it's free/easy due to the fact that only very few players know the pve meta tactics.
One thing I also find hypocritical is that you flame everyone for copying tactics while using the community made meta tactics on your own. The game has a limited amount of options and everyone is using some of these.
Last point: Nobody cares if you need a bug or not. It was discovered by a player that wasn't you, like all the other bugs in this game. And you want to know it, which is totally fine. But how about asking Halis and respecting his answer? Instead, you insult him and spread more toxicity. I really don't like your way of "competition" and communication.

Not even sorry for calling this out. Prit is just mad because he don't seem to know the bug Halis used (?!)
Edit: Also calling someone a shame for the pve community while doing everything they can to restrict the accessibility of speedruns to a broader range of players and calling him a hypocrit in the same time while doing this hypocritical statement is really sad.

    Just my 2 cents:
I feel like solo times are still interesting. 2 and 3 player completion for me is a minor category. If you have fun with it, just do it, it is not really relevant or interestinng to me though. Not every category has to be interesting for everyone though.
What would be much more interesting to me would be limitations in regards to cards. So a category where cards like enlightenment, decomposer, batariel, amii monument (just to name a few) were banned. That would currently require to upload the replays though, so developping strategies actually only becomes an advantage for a few weeks or months and execution becomes the much more relevant skillset. Whether that would be a good change is up to taste/ debate.

Playing as 3 player in 4 player maps is really different way and expirience.. Im completely sure you know this.
That's very unpolite and unreasonable to write something like this, especially in public. You tried to insult Halis, but this better describes your own feelings.
I also watched Halis's streams, and played with him last 2-3 weeks, so I can also ensure you that he has become much better.
It's more than normally to become better after some practice. For example IronTits couldnt do Soultree in less than 10 minutes, and now he managed to beat my old record there.
    P.S.
About the bug with energy - I hope it will be fixed by dev team.

    We havent discussed this.
Please help me understand, why is it any different than killing a goldwagon in Treasure Fleet to let the next one leave faster? Or when everyone in RPvE used the second chance bug to get an almost instant t4 army? Using this bug also will let you finish way faster than any experienced player who doesnt use the bug.
Speedrunners in all games always used these 'glitches' to finish a game really fast, so why would we treat them any different? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speedrun

Aaaand that's the point where Navarr joins the discussion again xD
Can you all please stay with the topic which is not PvP but the fact that beginners can't get a hold onto the current system? This way the community can't grow and we all don't want to see the downfall of Skylords earlier than expected. So, what are we gonna do? Maybe focus on the topic and evaluate the already stated points instead of dodging to other debates.
I would really wish that some points we brought up about PvE and general BFP : Booster value and market balance would be adressed. Also Kubik, we all appreciate what you do here so no worries about that. I just think your comparisons to other games don't quite fit in my opinion as they are very different in almost all aspects, not only concerning target audience and scale. In my opinion the community would profit much more from a discussion where we figure out how to fix the obviously broken current system. I heard that you are planning to fix some things simultaniously with the reset because of just how much the market is messed up at the moment. So if I were a developer here, I'd try to find out with the help of the community, how to make an efficient fix (and tweaking a few numbers is one of the most efficient things that can be done at the moment). So, many people already stated throughout different forums, different ideas for solutions that help both the market problems and the beginner problems which are obviously strongly interconnected. Why fight them instead of discuss? I don't get it.

ps: One last thing about PvP that I see is getting misunderstood. PvP is only 1% of matches (if this is true) BECAUSE it's so hard to get into it. Not the other way round obviously.

@Kubik The argument of Navarr regarding prices was not tailored to actual bfp price in the market but that as an experienced player you know how good cards are compared to other similar cards in regards to strength, useability, versatility, etc. With that information it is much easier to get a relatively accurate judgement of which cards are currently undervalued and therefor worth picking up. That is because you are not looking at single cards but can see the market as an interconnected web of many different cards. That does not necassirily mean that you know every cards price perfectly but that you can judge much easier how fairly priced something is at the moment.
As a new player you lack a lot of that knowledge and therefor it is easier to fall for „traps“ and/or you have to invest a lot more time into the market.
I hope that cleared things up a bit

I think it is a bit of a 'chicken and egg' problem. I think no one plays PVP because it requires so much 'leg work' in order to properly play it. As I said, having a fully upgraded deck with most of the charges is a HUGE entry barrier (excuse the economics term) for new players. This results in them not entering, which again results in the current PVP player base to be made up of mostly very good players, which again makes it even harder for new players to enter. It's a vicious cycle.
Maybe it could make sense to enable all cards + upgrades for PVP for like a 'trial period', say 4 weeks when joining BAFO. This way new PVP players would see that if they actually had this deck, then the difference would not be THAT huge and that they could actually have a chance when they work on their skills. And then after 4 weeks they do have an incentive to collect this deck on their own.
I am happy to claim that if you give the same deck to a top 50 player with all upgrades, and then the same deck to a newbie without any upgrades, the top 50 player will win 99/100 games, and the newbie will just feel completely discouraged and think he cannot win anyways and quit PVP. Whereas if they both had the same deck with same upgrades, newbie would still lose the aboluste majority, but still feel like he actually could stand a chance if he was playing better.
  18. Navarr liked a post in a topic by Showaren2 in Boring for beginners
In order to play PVP atm you need a nearly fully upgraded deck. Even as an unranked/low-ranked pvp player you will easily get matched against good players. Without a fully upgraded/charged deck, your experience of pvp is going to be getting stomped 99/100 games, and it would take a month of doing dailies every day to change this, completely unrelated to skill or anything. Very fun experience
From my point of view a typical newbie could experience: 'I do not like PVE that much' --> Try Pvp --> get stomped 15 times in a row --> Quit game
  19. myraezel liked a post in a topic by Navarr in Boring for beginners
Then these players are people we probably don't need and want. I don't know a single player that has close to all cards. Also I think there are more people that left or are leaving now (or didn't even start) because they have the same problem like myraezel.
    So 7 x 440 bfp = lvl 120 deck? I cant LOL hard enough.

  20. Navarr liked a post in a topic by TBird in Open Stress Test Information
The problem is that a stress test does not work well with the goal of conducting a long term observation of the ingame economy at the same time.

Let's face it: It's been 10 years since Battleforge was initially released, but today many players have less time due to real-life commitments. In my case that means, I have neither the time nor the desire to refarm my collection up to 3 times including upgrades after every possible reset.

So currently with my crappy starter deck, I will just play through the standard maps once and then be gone until all the resets are done, which should probably not be the goal of a technical stress test.
So in my opinion, it would be preferable to EITHER conduct a technical stress test with quicker access to all cards to enable many players to test expert difficulty, challenges, speedruns, favourite PVP decks, etc. and not having to worry as much about any lost time for farming. OR - once you are happy with the technical aspects of the game - you try a realistic unlocking system to simulate the ingame economy once for a predetermined amount of time. But I don't think mixing up technical issues and balancing the economy is the best solution.

I will also say that while I absolutely appreciate the work the dev team has accomplished, given the length of the current development cycles the problem becomes even more pressing: It's one thing if you have people farm for a month, watch the ingame economy and then reset it and make changes. But if you reset collections every ~8 months - maybe even several times - I suspect a lot of new or casual players will have moved on once the final version of the game goes live.

Then again, I assume that you have statistics concerning the development of player numbers over time and will use these to decide on the best course of action.

    Hello dear communnity :),

i began Skylords Reborn 4 days ago. I know the game, like probably all of you from the past. Of course i was super happy when i learned about Skylords.
In addition, i liked the fact its complete free. But:
It is boring. There is no reason to stay longer ingame, after u did ur 3 (boring) daily quests. The gain in Cards and BFP is so slow it takes probably weeks to get out of the
"i play with a mixed deck i dont like to play with to beat dailies" zone.
That makes me thinking about droping. That makes probably the same with other newcomers. So nobody plays on low elo. So only the same ppl are arround.
I am sure, they are bored too.
Sure, its beta. But dont get that wrong. I dont know much games who lived on launch when they were at the brink of death in beta.
Last sentence of mine: If this is beta, we should test stuff. we cant if we dont get cards or players to play with. Make it fun to test! Afaik their will be a wipe at Beta end anyways.

    Regards,
one who wants the game to be great again!
