Hi everyone!
5 years ago, I started this project alongside Blank, it's been a fantastic journey so far, I'm so happy that we managed our goal, which was to play this awesome game again, with you all! I won't lie, it's been hard, we didn't sleep much, it was all in our free time, but in the end, it was worth it, I don't regret any second I've spent on this project. But as some of you know already, I've stepped down a bit from the project, and I focused on my main indie-dev activity, to create my own games. The whole team did a fantastic job maintaining it, and we've progressed a lot since then, to a point where we're closer than ever to official release!
But.. all things must come to an end (not the project, don't worry) - But I'm officially taking a step back from this project, starting today. I'll still be around in the back, to help the team if needed, I'll do some paperwork mostly, but other than that, I won't be here with you guys! But don't worry, I'll leave you in good hands.
@Ladadoos & @Zyna are taking the lead of this project! They've shown great support & motivation within the years, and I'm confident that they'll handle this project very well!
Future is bright Skylords! I hope I'll see you all again someday, I've loved talking with all of you, playing with all of you! This project meant and will always mean a lot to me, love you guys! (I won't cry)

Alright, let's clear things up a bit. First of all, you're making assumptions in your entire post, I'm not even sure on what you're basing those, but most of them are entirely wrong, the fact that you're calling our servers 'trash' when most of our playerbase is currently having no issue whatsoever, isn't the correct way to tell things I'd say. You're having issues? That's totally fine and we're open enough to collect everyone's feedback, logs, and comments of your game experience with our services, but you need to do it the correct way. As far as I can see you've never sent us any messages or logs on the issues you've been facing. We've had in the last few days some issues with our servers, which we've been monitoring and fixing over the days, we're keeping everyone informed over our Discord.
Now, let's talk about the rest of your message, as fiki mentioned, our hardware is absolutely fine, we're not even using half of its current capabilities, so this is out of the equation, what could be involved in your crashes is a software related issue, could be related to our proxy/launcher, could be related to our server code, but we're not magicians, if you don't send us logs, your problems won't be solved easily, or fast.
I'm not sure where you're from and what's the ping you're currently experiencing, but having multiple game servers to host games spread over the entire globe, won't be a viable solution for us, we have very limited funds, and even tho we're getting more and more patrons everyday since release, we're being really cautious with how we spend that money, but the survival of this entire project depends on it. Also this may not solve any issue you're facing at all, Battleforge is a very old game from 2009 and you have to remember this, we didn't make this game and its logic, there's not such thing as reconnection system within the game, so the small instability from your connection, can lead to instant disconnect, it could be related to your internet provider, jitter, ping, packet loss.. Anyway, having different games server around the globe might help with ping related issues, if they're even related to these disconnects you're having, and that we currently can't confirm it is.
But again, calling our servers (and implying many things with it) trash, sucks, are pointless etc.. etc.. isn't the right way to proceed. You have the right to be mad at something, but try to not make false assumptions and direspect this team's work, which we've been doing for free, on our freetime, for over 5 years now, especially when you have no clue how our infrastructure, code or hardware, looks like.
And last but not the least, no, we don't have any player limit on the server, and we're not kicking players randomly when that non-existing limit is reached, I have no idea why you'd think we would do that in the first place.

5 years ago, I started this project alongside Blank, it's been a fantastic journey so far, I'm so happy that we managed our goal, which was to play this awesome game again, with you all! I won't lie, it's been hard, we didn't sleep much, it was all in our free time, but in the end, it was worth it, I don't regret any second I've spent on this project. But as some of you know already, I've stepped down a bit from the project, and I focused on my main indie-dev activity, to create my own games. The whole team did a fantastic job maintaining it, and we've progressed a lot since then, to a point where we're closer than ever to official release!
But.. all things must come to an end (not the project, don't worry) - But I'm officially taking a step back from this project, starting today. Topic has been cleaned, it went totally out of topic.
As fiki said, having something that directly communicating with our server like this is a no go. We though about that kind of utilisation since years now and we came to the conclusion that it won't be something we'll implement, we could do it, but we won't (as for the reason fiki mentioned, and more that are linked to it)
Thanks for your suggestion anyway, and we'll see if someday, we can do something "similar" to what you actually proprosed, but without giving bots an open door to the game's core economic system.

Hello,
You shouldn't trust what the game display as it's most likely inaccurate (it was the case before, that didn't change). But there's something you're right about, it's the feeling you have about units, but again, you probably don't remember as it was ages ago now, but it was the same "slow reaction" experience, if not worst from time to time. This game isn't well optimized or well coded, as Starcraft or other RTS can be, we can even say it is actually poorly made, and there's not much on we can do about it, we can't rewrite the whole game's networking system, there's already too much things we have to do so most likely the experience you'll getting will be the same.
Also, as Kubik mentioned there could be a ping issue, servers are hosted in France by a great known service called "OVH" and we have quite the big dedicated there for Skylords, so there shouldn't be any ping/latency issues on our side as they're offering one of the greatest hosting service in Europe. If you're outside of Europe, there definitely could be more issues with latency, as we only have a European service.
Also don't forget that BattleForge was and still is, a slower paced RTS game, compared to other high APM games, so that combined to all problems the game have that we have to deal with the best we can, plus a possible other issue, that makes you feel this way about the game. Game has been made by a small studio even tho it was under EA's Trademark, the studio behind BattleForge wasn't big and it was approx. made in between 2006 and 2009, so everything is old in this game, systems are old, libraries are old, it didn't get the support and QA service other games had.
We're sorry that we can't offer a better experience, but this is the best we can do with the stuff we have!

On our end, the development is still ongoing on many aspects, some that you can see directly in-game, some that you may not, but a lot of progress has been made since this stress test started!
And we're proud to announce that we now have a Web Developer! Welcome in the team @freund17
He'll be working first on a internal web interface for the staff, but, when we'll have that working/in place, he'll be able also to work on some web interface for you guys, so you can expect a lot of improvements and new features on our actual websites and (possibly?) new ones!
