PvP is simply more frustrating for me, as I don't want to lose against someone who simply had more luck drawing cards, or grinds like crazy. Because you trade blows, every card that counts as a weaker blow, is a handicap. In PvE the motivation is different, you can do maps with a half decent deck and the right strategy, only if you are into speed runnning, you really need the best of the best.
With free decks, I can tell friends "Hey you want to play some PvP?" and we have enough variety and balanced decks. Without it, we would have to craft cheap decks and balance on our own. Or tell them to invest hundreds of hours before we can play. The PvP is fun on it's own, no need to lock people out with card collecting, otherwise I would rather play AoE2/WC3/SC2 etc. with zero grind and balanced races.

I am against removing. To get a deck like that, you would need to farm for hundreds of hours. Maybe you can argue about reducing the upgrade level to T2, as most cards will still stay viable, while also giving a higher motivation for grind. Or a checkbox for the queue, allow free PvP Decks or not, kind of like optional Crossplay.
But asking for removing, I am sorry. There was once a time where you could spend 1000 hours in games like these, WoW etc. But for me, that time is over, I don't want to be a level 1 thug for hundreds of hours, until I can be a mafia boss lvl 30 with a Mountaineer lvl 3. I still have to work, playing all the other games on my pile of shame, and I think that many players have developed some kind of aversion against mandatory grind.

Agreed. Also, many people say "they take away a part of the game, i.e. grinding for a PvP deck", but imo it's the opposite, they open a new part of the game for me.
The thing is, that I do not have that much time to play because of family and work. But with the free PvP decks I can still play some PvP when I have the time and, at least in theory, compete with everyone. If I had to build a PvP deck from scratch, I would already have a disadvantage, because I wasn't able to play over the weekend. This would make it, that even with perfect gameplay I would start with a disadvantage from having worse cards/upgrades. This would snowball over the months to come and I would virtually be locked out of PvP until I have a competitive 120 deck, which might take months. In the meantime I would have to grind BG9 for months, if I wanted to get into PvP as quickly as possible, which would get boring and repetitive very quickly, making me lose interest in this project.
Long story short, if you want to grind - go for it, but don't force everyone to do it, since it makes people have to do "shores" in order to even play the game. If I wanted to grind 24/7 I would play World of Warcraft or smthng.

I think the decision to introduce these lvl 120 decks was awesome. It allows actual PvP matches right from the start and gives me an option of introducing new players into PvP immediately without farming hours of rPvE. In order to build up a solid PvP playerbase over time we need immediate access to the actual gamemode, which is built around U3 cards. Most PvP games are played around lvl 120 decks, the meta got built and balanced around it.
I do understand, that some players are interested in grinding for PvP decks in order to have some fun games with more random interactions, but for a competitive realm, which ranked PvP is supposed to be, games should be decided by decisionmaking & micro mangement rather than upgrade differences.
I support the option of opening up a sparring section for "only grinded decks" though, so players can easily set up games without lvl 120 decks. The issue with different ranked ques is the playerbase atm. Once there is a large playerbase to sustain such different modes you could go for grind based ques and also different modes like tome PvP for example. But dividing our current playerbase would lead to long que times, worse matchmaking and therefore a worse experience.

Depends on how youre playing, i usually play rPvE9 4 player matches only with 2 or 3 players
sometimes with certain rules, for example no Support Buildings or no Batariel.
And for rPvE 10 you also need a very good deck.

    Greetings Skylords, Skyladies and Skyfolk,
We are about one week away from release and with that we would like to share our schedule and plans around release. This way you know what to expect.

December 16, 2020: We will reset everyone's progression in preparation for the reset on actual release day. This allows us to make sure our systems work properly after a reset and to potentially fix any remaining issues that could be caused by resetting the progression of all our players. A progression reset means you will lose your gold, BFP, cards, boosters, PvE and PvP ranks, friends lists, auctions etc.  Both the main server and the test server will stay online and you can continue to play the game. Any in-game items gained after this initial progression reset will not be carried over after release.

December 17, 2020: The main server will be closed until release. This will give us time to prepare the server for release and to fix any potential issues found with the reset from the previous day. During this downtime everyone's progression will be reset for release and you will be asked to create a new in-game character when you login for the first time after release. You do not need to create a new account for release and can login with your current account after release. The test server will still be open throughout the release period. The server will likely be closed in the evening (UTC).

December 18, 2020: Release date. This is the day we will put the servers online again and is the day you can join and start playing again with a fresh start. After this day there will be no more resets so you can play/grind all you want. Depending on how drastically the player base suddenly increases, we might have to resort to putting a limit on the number of people allowed on the server at a time. Our current server is very performant and should be able to handle a lot more players than it currently is, so even though we don't expect to need to do this, you never know. There will also be a countdown livestream on our twitch channel https://www.twitch.tv/skylordsreborn, after which we will open the servers again. The release will likely happen in the afternoon (UTC).

We hope everything is clear. If you have any remaining questions feel free to ask them and we will update this post accordingly.
Have fun playing and hope everyone is looking forward for release!

    - Skylords Reborn

I'm sure that many others and myself are so grateful for all the hard work that you have done.  Thank you so much!  This was and still is an awesome game, and now thanks to you we have it functioning very well and you the developers can work on awesome things like new maps and cards to make the game even better.  This is a perfect example of what dedicated gamer's can do!   All the best for the development team in the future and we will never forget this!  Cheers!

It will most likely include an update, but not too big of a one.

I encourage everyone to try the code PROM-OMOU-NTAI-NEER after the release. You'll get something nice!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Anyways, potential profits, no matter if real or only in colorful pixels, will lead to people trying to exploit. Self reported prices won't work. Without objective input like through an API I wouldn't trust these numbers. Because I know people try to manipulate prices (and sometimes successfully do so) EVEN IF there is access to an objective graph as a resource.

The current server should easily be able to handle at least 1k players, very likely quite a bit more (currently 100-150 at peak).

If you want to know the consequences of you suggestion, look at WC3. They did multiple balance changes, but boosted 2 units so much (KotG, Ballista), that they destroyed the whole meta that was in place for like 10 years. It didn't add fun variety, but killed many strategies instead (to stay with battleforge, imagine a t1 unit gets so good, that it would make no sense to even go for t2 or t3 anymore). BUT, you could achieve something similiar by nerfing, which is less fragile (the worst thing that could happen, is that the card vanishes. You could destroy 1 race/element, but at least the other races/units are untouched).
Same with Hearthstone, where they use this abusive balancing to promote new seasons of cards to generate money. The majority won't enjoy it, it's the number one reason people quit. If you want to grind, go to the fitness studio.
