What about survival mode, PvE map where you have no walls, only some resource incomes and you try to survive as much waves to get in top "ladder". Each wave of enemy gets stronger, buffed, etc. It should be made without completing (no victory conditions) just to climb further in ladder. Top 5 get rewards and ladder maybe resets...

Some more ideas if we're brainstorming:
Twilight Bombs: Every unit in the game will blowup like a twilight slaver upon death (neutral eruption upon death) Stone Skin: Every enemy unit takes 1/3 less damage (stoneskin [-15%] + wheel of gifts damage reduction [-20%] buffs = should be around ~32% damage reduction) Enraged: Every enemy unit has the "Rage" passive (Fire Dragon passive, because it's longer)

I'm bad with names for these effects, but some ideas:
    - Friendly units explode/spawn nightcrawlers on death
    - Friendly units have a X% chance to get CC'ed every Y seconds
    - Enemy units reflect X% of the damage they take back to the attacker
    - Friendly units do not get healed near buildings
    - Every units get spawned with half health and does not heal up to full after a certain duration
Might add some more ideas later...

    - Infected: Squads spawn 1/2 Nightcrawler with activated frenzy (global or only for enemies, spawned units belong either to enemies or to neutral enemy)
    - Powerless: No/less energy/void evergy at the start
    - Onslaught: Generic buffs for enemies (squads and buildings): reduced/increased damage taken, reduced/increased damage dealt, enemies regenerate x% health per second
    - Scorched Earth: Buildings take X% more damage (already mentioned)
    - Shared Pain: damage friendly units recive is also dealt to surrounding friendly units
    - Befallen: Friendly squads cannot be healed
    - Disenchantment: Friendly squads cannot be buffed (both buff and debuff)
    - Spellblock: Squads cannot use their active abilities
    - Martyr: Squads cast a neutral-enemy spell on death

I love playing PvE Campaign maps from time to time but by this point I have, like most other PvE players, beaten every map on expert. I really like the campaign maps cause I think they're beautifully crafted and I'd love too see a way to increase difficulty on them without our overworked devs having to reprogram every map, so I had this idea of optional modifiers you could use to further crank up the challenge on a map. They should be relatively easy to implement and increase the difficulty of a game in different ways but also net you more rewards for completing a map.

Here's an idea of what it could look like:

Motivated Foes: Morale is high amongst your foes. Enemy units deal 20% more damage.
Cursed Wells: An ancient curse was cast upon the wells in this area. They produce energy 25% slower than usual.
Termites: This place is infested with termites. Your structures take 30% more damage. This counts for buildings, walls, power wells and monuments.
Foreign grounds: Far away from your forge, your units have trouble adjusting to being summoned. Every friendly unit enters the game dazed, and the dazed status lasts 20 seconds longer than usual. (can be negated by rallying banner and wrecker)
Unoly Gift: An evil Shaman has blessed your foes with the gift of regeneration. Every Enemy unit gains 2% of their maximum life points every 2 seconds.

I just made these up to make my idea clear, they're not neccecarily balanced. What do you guys think abt somthing like this?

    Rules!
-Disconnection during a game results in a default loss. If both sides agree it is possible to have a remake.
-Not showing up to your match after 15 minutes results in a default loss. The plan is to play a round of matches every ~30 mins.
-After your match, go to Challonge and insert the result. That is done by clicking on your match and selecting the winner/stats . The brackets will be updated automatically.
-The Map Pool is: 1st round: Haladur, 2nd round: Simai, 3rd: Elyon, 4th: Lajesh, 5th: Uro and 6th: Yrmia (same pool as in ranked duel). The first match of the round will be played on the fixed map, then it is losers choice.  The winning player (who won the previous match in this bo3) also has to lock in his deck first.
-The brackets for the tournament will be shuffled before the tournament starts.
-Use your Battleforge name for the tournament. If your Challonge account differs from your Battleforge account name use the "Sign up with an alternate name" feature or change your name for the tournament in the settings. Finding your opponent will be a LOT easier this way.

Oh wow really? For how many maps was this done?

Almost all RTS-games with Fog of War dont have the option to spawn in units (and spells!) directly. Scouting is important because you can see what tech and units your opponent has, in battleforge that would only limit to which orbs are available. I think it would also greatly limit factions without CC, since they cant stall and counter attack as easily, making most games play out mostly random. I also dont think this would result in what you think, since towers still bind power, and thus you are still better off having units on the field most of the time. I just dont see this working in Battleforge personally.

Now this I could see happening. I always think free for alls are a ton of fun in RTS games. Im sure this mode will also have some weird balance issues, but it could be interesting, and most spells at least require you to have ground presence. Let me check with the Devs if this is actually possible to add tho.

Good Ideas, new Gamemodes is what could really improve the long-time fun to keep players playing the game.

Personally I´d also like a PvP-Mode, where Fog Of War is enabled - like it´s the case in (almost all) other RTS-games.
-> To then balance this I would also add aother layer of unit-cap (max units you can have in play), bound to the number of Wells you have for example - or even just bound to time. This would prevent overwhelming rushes. This mode could then be about building a nice base - looking for the perfect balance between towers build and units played and so on.
  9. DrunkenGummyBear liked a post in a topic by Cocofang in Organizing decks with folders
Right now all decks you make are just in a giant dump that you have to filter with names and/or which orbs they contain.
As someone who doesn't focus on any particular deck not only did I hit the 100 cap a few times and had to clean up, I also naturally have a giant list of decks. But I noticed that there are already something like subfolders present. Namely "General" and "Beginner". My suggestion is to implement the feature of creating such folders yourself and the ability to open/close them.

    I) there sould be some gamemodes already, just watch into the community maps

II) sounds intresting. But maby hard to creat. (tetris have similar things if u play 1 vs 1 tetris)

III) some maps have a *extra difficulty", but not finisched. f.e. crusade have on top 4 lines to defend on Expert. but if u watch the map in editor, there seems to be even 2 lines more to defend. Sadly this "extra hard" mode was never implementet. I rly would like to get a ultra hard mode for the CPVE maps, but probely only a rly smal playerbase would even able to finisch them.

    Hello again!
You could also add some timestamps on messages. Not really a must in the game but would be convenient.
  13. DrunkenGummyBear liked a post in a topic by Lucam in Option to add titles to game lobbies
I just came up with the idea of adding titles to a match. I looked through all the suggestions and and could not find the same idea.
With titles you can tell what you are up to with your game. For example on bad harvest you could tell like i want to speedrun this or with rpve construction meme decks. This way it would be easier to find like minded people and mess around or find people who know the same strategy in game.
Looking forward to what you guys think

  14. DrunkenGummyBear liked a post in a topic by anonyme0273 in Fear of a slow death of a community
Hi, all you weird people who like me still visit the forum for some reason.
I've come to share my first negative experience with the project and hope to bring more attention to what I believe matters most.
Now we all are here for the game and its community (can't have one without the other for long). The game is almost the same as when we fell in love with it so many years ago. The community changed over the years since the establishment of this project until now - for the better in most cases, I'd say. There is still positivity everywhere I look and support has seemingly never been stronger, now that we can play to our hearts content. But is playing all I expected from this project? Not really.
The game is (essentially) the same, you can tell me all about the changes to BFP, quests, balances... I think I know all of those. But the community, in my opinion, is at a standstill. Not because the hype is dead, that is not the case. But there is nothing official happening. We have a few amazing streamers and content creators and honestly praise be onto them, they keep this project fresh for me. Things are happening BY the community FOR the community, while the staff team hires more people to work on the game. Why is that not a good thing? More maps, more stable development, a clearer image of what the game can be - all those are great, but are all for nothing if the life of the game is stale with no official events, tournaments or something to look forward to by the staff.

I brought this idea up in Discord without much reply, so I took it then privately to @Ladadoos, who ignored the content of the message because of the way it was worded - a rather shallow behavior. I admit, I lost my temper in how I addressed this, but I will not apologize because I firmly believe that map designers, discord moderators, and more developers are not necessary until the word gets out there to both existing and hopefully new players. We can have the best game, but with only ~1000 active players it won't be long until those numbers start to fall and sooner or later the hype dies with it. What we should be doing, in my opinion, is supporting the community, its content creators, the games public image, rather than the inner workings. I believe noone here can complain about the job done until now - impecable! The game works, we can play, trade, talk, strategize, get better, grind. But that won't last forever, unless the community has something more to look forward to - again, tournaments, events, official livestreams, contests of all kinds. I love this game and the community that grew over the years and don't want it to die just because the staff is busy growing itself and the game mechanics when the player numbers are what essentially matters long term.

So yea, to be blunt and completely honest, in the last few weeks, I couldn't care less about rebalancing cards or hiring new staff and in my opinion @Toggy has done more for the game this year than any other actual staff member. Watching his tournaments and seeing the people root for their favorite deck, player, and generally enjoying the vibes is what I always looked forward to! I am so grateful we get to play the game, and I want it to stay a great place to go to, but not if it's at the cost of the people that came along with it.

If you disagree with me, please, let me know. Maybe I am missing a big picture, some future amazing prospects and plans that elude me, but for now I stand firmly by my beliefs that if nothing changes, soon this game will be just that - another game, nothing special. And that would be the worst thing to happen after all this work.

Ultrarares, rare Squads and buildings so far.
** I recommend using Ctrl F and typing the card name you want to see etc.

Price ref based on pre-reset era
Because over relying on SMJ is weird

Price listed is an expected range, but you will find outliers when
you look because most casual players won't read this list or use SMJ anyways.

*Pricing is subjective and based on my buying experience.
But remember, in pre reset era, I could even flip commons for profit.
Very difficult to do this in the current post reset, so use this list as a reference, not as a
modern daily list trying to flip cards.

    I think
    ----------------------------------------------------
Pricing reference based on Pre-Reset era
    ----------
    Ultra rares:
Low supply, expect soaring and plunging price deviations when
listings expire or supply is lower. No one actually cares much about the consistently
lower priced ultra rares on here so expect derp pricing on promise of life etc.

    Squads:
    Nox carrier (both affinity)  10-30
    Queek queek  50-80
    Tortugun (both affinity) 100
    Wrathgazer 100-130
    Timeshifter 120-150
    Moloch 100-150
    Thunderwagon purp 180-220
Parasite Swarm  150-220  (this one is odd. It used to fly to 350, but was prolly price gouging)
    Shadowworm   250-330
Core Dredge blue   260-330  (high flux)
Core Dredge Red    330-370+  (very high flux)
    Forest elder Purp   300-350
    Abyssal  Red 250-300+
    Abyssal Blue   330-370+
    Rageflame    330-350
Lord Cyrian (was a promo)  5k+ (current reset market 350-400 ish)
Grim bahir (both affinities)   400-450  (high flux, again, expect within range)
Ironclad Red    450-600  (post reset 400-450+) (Was very high flux depending on the day)
    Lost Warlord Red  500-600
Ironclad Blue  550-750  (post reset 400-450+)  (very high flux at the time. It was weird)
    Thunderwagon Red   480-520
Lost warlord Blue   500-700 (usually low 600s, high 500s)
Spitfire   500-700 (high flux at the time)
Skycatcher (both affinities)   500-700  (very high Flux)**    (Modern pricing is 800ish. Anything more is SMJ being weird or supply is low.)
***Addendum. Realistically right now, any price between 860-920 range is okay currently because SMJ is creating a lot of unnatural demand. This is actually why I don't like SMJ, it creates an unnatural third party carfax effect, but in reverse, which inflates the value hence people just buy buy buy. Forgetting hey, instead of trusting strangers, you're now trusting and giving pricing power to 1-4 specific strangers to determine prices.
Dreadnaught  500-800 (was usually close to 600s, not always)
Rageflame blue   500-900 (very high flux in price)
    Forest Elder green 1100-1300
    Fire Dancer    1500-1700
    Avatar of Frost   1800-2300
    Mountaineer   2200-2400
Harvester    2500-2700  (Was almost always 2500 ish)

    Buildings:
Oracle Mask (both affinities)   10-50 bfp ( no one really cared)
Voo doo  30-50-70   (also no one really cared)
    Volcano Red  50-100 (high flux)
    Volcano Green 50-100 (high flux)
    Mindweaver    100-150+
    Stronghold  400-700 (high Flux)
Church of negation  550-800 (very high flux)

    Spells:
Curse orb 15-20? (Idk how to price this in the current market)
Evocation's Woe  (both affinities) 3-20 bfp?   (this one always puzzled me. Wtf? )
Forest Vim (both affinities)  15-30bfp  (very High flux)
Promise of life (both affinities)   20-30  (very high flux)
Gravity surge purp   15-30  (very high flux)
    Ice Age   (both affinities)  20-40+
    Twi Warfare (both affinities)    15-50+
Backlash  25-70 (insane flux) (im not even sure people know what this card even does .)
    Protector's seal (lost+Twi colors) 75-150
Gravity Surge Blue  100-250 Very Very high flux (popular, but it can get absurd)
Cluster bomb purp  120-170 (have seen 75-200, but don't expect it)
Disenchant purp  180-300  (very high flux)
Nether warp blue  180- 400 (very Veeerrry high flux)
Frost Shard   300-350+  (This used to have tons of meme pricing at 500+. Not in current market)
    Cluster Bomb Red   650-770
Nether Warp Green  1300-1500+  (very popular, don't expect it to be 1300 or on the lower end.)
Disenchant Green  1300-1500+  (very popular, don't expect it to be 1300 or on the lower end.) * It's actually gone crazy right now as of march 2021
Enlightenment   2100-2600  (ooof, 3100 in current market. Feels bad)
Infect  3500-4000  (used to be 3k even, but they discontinued free daily boosters to the current bfp reserve and booster discount system.)
    --------------------
    Rares:
Moderate supply, expect consistent prices. When listings expire or supply is lower,
prices can soar or behave strangely There are some consistently lower priced rares ,
but as before, no one cares as much about the prices of lower priced rares, so they
    are really derpy.

    Squads:
Ice fang raptors (both affinity)    3-9 bfp (modern range is closer to 5-12)
Mountain Rowdy (both affinity)   3-9 bfp  (modern range id 5-12)
    Gladiatrix (purp)  6-15
    Storm Singer (Red)  10-25
    Amazon (blue) 10-25
    Virtuoso 15-30+ (Moderate flux)
Nightguard (purp)  15-25+ (Depending on timing, price could soar . This is no longer a common thing as more players= more supply)
Timeless one   15-20+ (High flux)  (Used to be even higher, but free pvp deck change knocked the price of this card down)
    Treespirit (purp)   15-20+
    Satanels (both affinity)  23-30+
Dryad (Green)  20-30+ (Was usually close to 25)
Grove spirit  20-33+ (Somedays, it was 10 bfp. That's no longer a common thing on modern post reset market)
    Nightshade plant (both affinity)   40-60
Twi Creeper (both affinity) 40-60+ (Usually closer to 50)
Magma Fiend    40-60+ (Was usually around 50's flat)

    Shadowmage 45-55 (consistently)

Treespirit (Green)  40-80+ (Modern post reset price closer to 50s-70)

Lost Shade (purp)  50-100 (Modern is 100-130+)

    War Eagle 100-150
    Scythe fiends 100-150+
Rogan Kayle   50-70  (*Modern range is currently 110+ due to booster achiev, but I'm willing to bet this will get lower)

Amii Monu  500-650 **!! (Post Reset 2500-3000++++. Due to expert and adv now giving massive amounts of booster achievs, influx of
new players and old players trying to get these, this absurd price will stick for a long time and veeerrrryyyy slowly drop. . . if at all.

    Hello everybody,
for a while now I have the problem that the game freezes.
First it just lags, but I can still get some spells out. Then it freezes completely. I do not lose the connection to the server.
While (!) it was freeze, somebody texted me and I responeded to it WHILE (!) the game was freezed. And he responded to my respond WHILE (!) the game was freezed. LOL
I never had such a scenario in any game that I played so far.

But that the game freezes doesn't mean it was crashed. No after the freeze (that lasted about 10s - 5 min) the game continues but in SUPER RAPID MODE. Every unit moves super fast, like it wants to get on the same page with the server again because the other 3 player in random pve played normal for the past 5 min).
I can place cards in the freeze, but it does nothing. I will put a screen to demonstrate:

Anybody having the same problem or suggestions to solve it?
    Best regards

    Hey all,
whould be nice if you could freely categorize your friendlist in groups. e.g i'd like make folders for pvp people / pve / marketplace / favorites e.t.c. Right now they are basically all together. Also you could add notes on top of their names so players can remember who is who.

    Hi,
Apparently since something like the booster history, which requires a database connection and client modification, can be developed at a time like this when it is (I assume) a low priority project with no impact on the game at all, then you now have a surplus of developers to afford working on such minor things?
If so, here goes another idea I had but didn't share due to limitations.
Name: Forging (Comes from BattleForge, duh)
Function: Allows players to forge cards, boosters, and cosmetic collectables.
    Features:
    - Shards: Can be forged into a random reward.
    - Enhancers: XP and Gold boosters.
    - Cosmetics: New legacy and time-limited avatars, titles (Like PvE/PvP ranks), name colors on the player list the same way as GMs. It could even extend to the forum where you get a special usertitle.
    How it works:
    - Shards: Winning a game, you have a chance to earn a shard. Three shards and you can forge them into a random reward, which can be a booster, random card or a cosmetic. Of course, it can be far more intricate than this, so if you want my detailed plan, sure. This post is just the basics. All within a single tab in the client. A couple of buttons and a few images, all the magic happens in the background in the server (really basic stuff though, a simple database and an RNG).
    - Enhancers: Super simple yet I don't see why it isn't being added. "You have an XP booster for 4 hours". Can be 1.2x multiplier, or even a more advanced system where it scales with your rank. The higher your rank, the higher the multiplier, but the lower the time the booster lasts for. Can be purchasable with Gold or earned with Shards, or by levelling up. It's temporary boosters of course, noting permanent. The point is to increase play time.
    - Cosmetics: A whole new world. Just add more unique and legacy items, like a golden border your avatar for instance. I assume that can be done. Whatever avatar you have is the same way it is, but if the server's packet for the avatar ID is like, "34_0" -> Then you'd have a golden border, since the "_0" is an identifier for golden border, and a LUA script can pick that up. If not, then just introduce new, limited-time avatars. Crop the face of a character from an oil painting of the game for instance, from the loading screens.

Honestly, I can't be bothered to make a more detailed or bigger post because it will most likely die like always and go unnoticed. If you want more information about the technicalities, implementation strategy, or the mechanisms and their effects, let me know and I will reply. I can even make a prototype for you. Peace.

Just a quick question in between:
An option to toggle the timestamp only for group/whisper messages independently of channel messages would be cool!
So you could for example have timestamps on whispers and group chat, but not in trade.

    Hello again!
You could also add some timestamps on messages. Not really a must in the game but would be convenient.

Yeah good idea, or the possibility to add Notes to your friendlist (or to each entry) would be nice also.

We are open to feedback, but if you start throwing around childish insults like this, I wont bother replying to you any longer.
