I really like the thought process behind the proposed pve map changes. However, it is of course, still subjective depending on our views on which areas should be kept the same or not. I have my own views on it but would rather create a video to verbalize it instead of writing an entire chunk of words haha

Would love to have the option to choose between the altered PVE maps and the original ones.

Some people are back to this game due the nostalgia it brings, and they like the original maps even when they are not perfect 🙂

Well, that line is murky as hell, isn't it. Does the fact you cannot buy cards anymore detract from the nostalgia? Promos from boosters? Buffs to bad cards? Balance changes in general? Quests and Achievements? New cards? New game modes? Fixes to exploits and broken mechanics? And had the game not died it would look drastically different today too.

We could maybe, if the demand is big enough, have kind of like an "archive" category in the custom map section, where old maps can still be played without getting gold rewards, so farming them is no longer an option.

That's an incredible idea. All current cPvE maps could be uploaded to the custom maps under names like "LEGACY Nightmare Shard". But obviously with upgrades and gold removed, just like it's the case with other custom maps. Maybe add an extra sub-category for legacy maps.

Now, they would obviously not be exempt from changes to cards and mechanics. But this way people that are truly and honestly simply all about wanting to experience the original versions these maps offer, exploits, bugs and all, could seek each other out and still play them.

This is something that should definitely be looked into.

Everybody who has ever tried to transform a campaign map into a community map knows this is sadly way more work than it might seem, usually a lot of things break. It certainly can be done but each map will require a customised solution.

I could imagine a slightly different solution, but we prolly need to wait for the new updater to have something like that be realistically possible…
