  1. Hey Xathe,

welcome to the game and to the forums ๐Ÿ™‚
Do you want to keep playing Bandits/Fire/Shadow for now or are you looking for deckbuilding advice in general?

One thing I see right off the bat is, that you do not have any healing/sustain spells besides Ravage. Maybe you should try out Bloodthirst, Bloodhealing or Unity. Especially the blue affinity of Unity gives a lot of sustain and either Bloodthirst applied to your T4 army or Bloodhealing used on a freshly spawned Emberstrike can give very nice healing ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hello speedrunning and community map enthusiasts,

Since the ingame speedrunning rankings only track official campaign maps and rPvE map of the month, @Emmaerzeh and I decided to create a forum post to track the speedrunning records for community maps as well. Since there are a lot of community maps out there, of which some are not suited for speedrunning or have other issues, we picked a few maps which we deemed worthy of a ranking. This list might be expanded in the future.

    Have fun speedrunning! ๐Ÿ™‚

How to get your time listed

In order to get your time listed in the rankings, you first have to make sure that your run follows all the rules (see below). In order to get your time verified, you have to send a replay of the run to me either via Discord (Metagross31#1103) or via DM in the forums (@Metagross31). I will not share any replays for the rankings without explicit permission of the runners.
You may also feel free to also post your times publicly as responses to this post to share them with everyone else. However, the rankings will only be updated once I verified that the time is legit.

    Rules

    1. Every run for the rankings has to be performed on expert difficulty.
    2. Whenever there are multiple versions of a map available, you have to use the one that explicitly matches the name in the rankings.
    3. If the version of a map is updated, the rankings for that map might be reset.
    4. There are no restrictions on deck building and gameplay, other than those employed by the maps themselves.
    5. If a replay is not watchable or desyncs when watched on the same patch the run was performed on, the replay is not valid.
    6. Any modifications to maps or replay files are strictly prohibited.

I was thinking to implement it in the interface, if not too demanding in coding/figuring it out.

'extra cards', 'excess cards', 'spare cards' ... just saying ^^

The problem with adding it to the UI is, that it takes much more work and we are very much short on UI developers.

I think it was always cheaper than infect, used to be around 1000BFP for some time and now 600BFP, probably due to reforging.

Another situation where wheels are really wasted: If there's lots of stonekin units; the devensive wheel buff only adds another 5% onto the 15% adamantium skin. For grinders the regeneration buff is redundant, too.

Wait, isn't Wheel an external buff and Adamant Skin an internal one, meaning they should stack?

  5. It is less about demolishing than about wastly transforming.
There is definitely a sweet spot, where she would be quite balanced and not broken, but even if we found that, it would result in some factions and matchups functioning way differently.

Currently, one of the main interactions/synergies in the Fire/Frost deck in PvP is to use Frost Sorceress' shield on a Skyfire Drake, giving a unit with a high damage value a shield. If we make her autocast, it is much harder to do that intentionally while decreasing the strength of the shielded Drake. So while this can probably be balanced, it would shift the way the faction is played and how it feels drastically.

    ย

I know, that it sometimes feels like a bit of a waste, when cards are (almost) completely useless in one of the gamemodes, but that's never entirely avoidable. Also, maybe there is potential for custom maps, which require heavy tanks in T1? There a Lightblade buffed with one of her shields would probably excell!

๐Ÿค” what existing afk checks are you talking about?

The one that checks, if you are afk when you are in a match. Don't know, if it is applicable to the forge as well though.

I checked the guide and made few adjustment. I think ill stick with shadow as my T1 at least for now. Deck looks like this after the changes.

Wasteland Terror looks very cool tho. Kindย a shame that it is off-meta.ย  Which card should i consider swaping for nether warp(G) ?
Thanks for all the helpย ๐Ÿ™‚

    ย

Even if it is off-meta, it can still be very fun to use, if you like it ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, I am not sure, if Grim Bahir is worth it without Offering. Maybe Volin can elaborate on that.

Something to try would be Grimbahir+Disenchant out, Wasteland Terror+Netherwarp in. No guarantees, that this works though.ย

Lastly, Amok has been buffed recently, so Amok+Frenetic(g) is a worthy alternative to both Frenetics.

  8. Hey zxcvbnb,
first off, welcome to the Forums ๐Ÿ™‚
@Volin made a guide on Fire/shadow for rPvE a while back:

It is still reasonably up to date, but was written before Wasteland Terror and Banzai Lord were in the game.
Since you want to run Bloodhorn, I guess Banzai Lord is not really what you want, since this a different kind of deck.
To be honest, I have not really tried out a lot of Wasteland Terror yet, so I can not say, whether it is a good replacement for Disenchant.

Shadow T1 is very solid and allows for early Resource Boosters. Since you want to play mainly rPvE 10, you should consider Shadow Phoenix in T2, since it is usually the more reliable option than Harvester. If you play them, make sure to combine them with Embalmer's Shrine though!

What you definitely need is some form of healing/sustain. Life Weaving is already a good start, but you do not have a strong heal yet. I personally like the combo of Undead Army + Bloodhealing, which can give tons of healing to your Bloodhorn. The Undead Army also synergizes very well with Unity (especially the blue affinity).

Also, consider replacing Unholy Power with Unholy Hero since it scales much better into the late game and Life Weaving is typically enough at the T2 stage.

I would highly recommend to get at least one upgrade on your Soul Splicer, since this allows you to collect corpses from far away. Infect Upgrades are also really good, since they can give you even more crawlers.

Other than that you got a really solid base. I hope those tips are helpful to you ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Here comes another one for far down the priority list!

I recently played a little bit of Guild Wars and noticed, that they have a system, where you can create a code from your character build from ingame, share it with other people and then they can use it to quickly copy your build.

How about adding a similar feature to Skylords, where you can create a code (basically like a hash, but reversable) from your current deck, which the game displays to you and you can copy it to your clipboard and share it with other people. Those people then have a button when creating a deck, which says something like "create deck from code", and when you paste the code in there, the game automatically creates the deck for you.
This could make sharing decks more convenient then taking screenshots of decklists, especially when newer players don't know the name of all cards just from a small icon. This way one could also create a Discord bot, that can show a decklist from a given code.

Is this possible given what resources are available to us?

PvE Map Modifiers LET'S GOOO. This is a feature I want so much that I might learn C++ย just for this.

Reading the requirements on theย staff position posts really makes one appreciate all the hard work that has been put into the project. thanks to the whole team for all their contributions up until now!

For most of the client development it is sufficient to know a bit of XML (quite similar to html) and some LUA, which is much easier than C++. ๐Ÿ™‚
