Please use your Live account name, otherwise we do not know where to send the rewards. On the test server there are not many people, so your opponent should be able to find you anyways.
Please confirm with @Toggy

A reminder that you are still able to sign in!
It is a lot of fun to play pvp in a unconventional way with a limited card pool. The real challenge is making the deck.

Greetings Skyfolk!
This update is a small content update with various bug fixes, enjoy!
Check out our recent community update for more information. Feedback to these changes can be given in this topic or on Discord!
Where are balance changes discussed?
For now we have a Discord server dedicated for this. An invite link to the server: https://discord.gg/NvSUwpf
How can I join the test server?
To join the test server you simply need to launch LauncherTest.exe located in your BattleForge installation folder. It is important you run the updater first, so you download the latest test server files. In the future we plan to make it easier to join the test server.
Changes
Add a new Winterforge theme! You can change your theme in the forge menu. Seasonal: The forge will automatically adjust based on the season of the year. Legacy: The old forge you know and love. Winter: The new cool and frosty winter forge.
Update booster images so they are more consistent.
Add new and less strict filter options for advanced filtering! A new filter is "edition" and many other keywords got alternative names now. Add work-in-progress documentation for the advanced filters under "Battleforge/docs/advanced_filtering.txt". Add a new "StartBattleforgeDev.bat" alongside the Battleforge.exe. It allows you to enable experimental language switching on the test server: CTRL + D => Display German Language CTRL + E => Display English Language CTRL + F => Display French Language CTRL + R => Display Russian Language Add milliseconds of replays to the replays window. Now a notification will pop-up whenever one of your friends logs in! Add the Fireland preset in the map editor. Add upgrades for the new cards from the anniversary patch: Add Banzai Lord (Green) and (Purple) on all difficulties to Mo. Add Coat of Protection (Blue) and (Purple) on all difficulties to Empire. Add Amii Paladins on all difficulties to Nightmare's End. Add Bandit Minefield on all difficulties to Slave Master. Add Bandit Sniper on all difficulties to Raven's End. Add new config value to allow randomization of card order in boosters. You can enable it in the "Documents/BattleForge/config.json" file by setting "randomize_cards_in_booster" to true in the "ui" section. In the future we will make this configurable in the ingame UI.
Fixes
Banzai Bird (spawned by Banzai Lord): The unit now will die properly when targetting boss units. Amii Phantom is not invisible anymore on lower texture settings. Properly disable ranked queue button, if you are already searching for a match. Players now cannot queue up twice anymore. Use correct booster image for Bandit edition in booster history. It previously was using the Twilight edition image. Fix crash when Howling Shrine is placed in the map editor. Fix crash associated with Molten Golem in fire rPvE (IncomingDamageDistribution ability). Do not play sounds while the game is minimized. Charge cards in the upgrade menu will now be correctly displayed. The scroll postion in the upgrade inventory will now update correctly. Newly selected free PvP decks are now immediately visible. You do not have to relog anymore. Automatically assigned names of free PvP decks will now not exceed the deck name limit of 16 characters anymore.
Thanks for reading up until the end! See you in the forge!

Please stop complaining about "SJWs" ruining the game. We redesigned the boosters because they were inconsistent. The fact that female units got less visible on the artwork due to this change was not really something we thought about. Frost Mage, Fire Dancer, and Fallen Skyelf are actually still visible on the image, but just more in the background.
@Fimion@Fundus@Toshio If you wish to continue discussing this topic, feel free to do it in your private messages with whoever is interested.

Greetings Skylords!
Every three weeks, we give an update on the things going on behind the scenes of Skylords Reborn. Welcome to another Community Update!
• Small Patch
We are hard at work on our new content patch, which will still take quite a while. However, we plan to release a small patch this weekend including some small features and bug fixes. We have also added a much requested feature: you will now be notified when a friend comes online.
Below, you can read about two highlighted changes from this patch. The patch also includes various bugfixes, for example being able to queue into yourself in PvP.
• Adjustments to the booster images
During our anniversary patch, we noticed that the booster images in the game had plenty of issues. First of all, the ratios are all over the place, with some boosters being tall, where others are wide. Additionally, the positioning angles and BattleForge logo placement is not consistent and some images had shadows where others didn't. We gave them some touchups and have added new images for the boosters.
Old booster packaging:
New booster packaging:
• Winter Forge
While the holidays are over, winter is still here. We thought it would be fun to give the Forge a different look during winter, spring, summer and autumn, so we have updated it to a snowy theme! For the spring, summer and autumn Forges we plan to include the Community, so stay tuned for that!
In a previous patch, we added powerwells and monuments into the forge for testing. We are curious to hear if you enjoy changes like this, even if they are purely cosmetic.
Is the new look too cold for your taste? Feel free to swap it back to the neutral forge with the new slider on the top right.
• Current State of the Economy & Reforging
On the 18th of December we released both Reforging and a 100BFP booster discount. As expected, this heavily impacted the economy of Skylords Reborn. Now that the dust has settled and the booster discount has expired, we can slowly start looking at the state of the economy. Windhunter has shared some statistics and thoughts on this topic.
"The market trends pre-update (not shown here) were that Common cards were largely worthless, Uncommon cards were following the same trend, Rare cards were steadily decreasing in price (even among sought after cards such as Overlord, Bloodhorn, and Amii Monument), and desirable Ultra-rare and promo cards were increasingly inflating. This was because Ultra-rare and promo cards were the only remaining sources of value left in the economy. Reforging changed this by condensing the total price range of the market and by giving each card in the game a base level of value."
You can read the whole post and check the stats for yourself here.
• Deep Dive: Towers
As we continue to work towards the release of DRPvE, a topic of much discussion has been the current state of towers in the game. While some towers over perform, most are not worth a deckslot.
In this Deep Dive, we take a look at the different kinds of towers in Skylords Reborn, their strengths and weaknesses, and how we plan to make changes to them in the future. Please note we are still in the early stages of our tower rebalance; ideas are not final and these changes will take quite a while to implement once they are finalized. Either way, we hope you enjoy this insight into our current philosophy regarding Towers in Skylords Reborn, and that it provides you with the necessary information to join the discussion in our balance discord.
DeepDive_Towers.pdf
The next design document you can expect will be our in progress Nature Deep Dive. You can find all our Deep Dives and other documents here.
• Changing the size of buildings
While working on the above topic, we came across a new possibility for the game: resizing towers. We are now able to change the size of a building (visual and collision-shape-wise), which will be very relevant for cards like Rocket Tower, that take up way more space than you would expect from its model. This will be another helpful tool in adding some QoL changes to Skylords Reborn!
Please note: the image below is an example, there are currently no concrete changes to Tunnel planned.
• Art Timelapse
With our anniversary patch, it was revealed that the artwork of the new bandit cards combine into a single art piece: the new Bandit loading screen. If you are a frequent reader of the community updates, you have seen the work that went into each different new bandit cards over the last few months, including sketches of early iterations. However, if you are interested in more behind the scenes, we have a nice treat for you. Tweeto has actually recorded his design process, and we created a time-lapse video showing all the steps that went into this latest art piece. Did you know Bandit Sniper is actually standing on a dead Burrower? Find out everything that was added (and removed) in the video here.
Big thanks to Tweeto for his hard work and jabbyay for helping to create this video. Tweeto is already hard at work on the next art piece, which we will show off in a later community update. Like this kind of content? Please be sure to let us know!
• Advanced Filtering
We would like to take a quick moment to thank everyone for taking our survey about your use of advanced filtering. We are working on a full documentation for the filters that are currently available in the game. If you don't want to wait for that, you can find a Work in Progress version in the game files under BattleForge/docs/advanced_filtering.txt once the patch hits.
We have also added a few new filters and a lot of alternative words for current filters.
• Tournaments & Events
• NEW - Toggy's Tome Tournament - 30.01.2022
It's time for another Tome Tournament! In Tome you play 1vs1 PvP but with a twist; your deck is build right before the tournament from the content of a number of boosters. This results in wacky decks and a very different PvP experience, so be sure to check it out. The tournament will be streamed live, check out the full rules and sign-up here.
• NEW - CCC #2 The Besieged Forge - UNTIL 05.02.2022
Kapo has started another Crappy Community Contest! Participating in it will result in a reward for the entire community, so be sure to check it out. In this contest, players are playing on a new map created specifically for this contest! Check out the full rules here.
• ALMOST ENDING - Official 2p rPvE Contest#2: The Bandit alliance UNTIL 31.01.2022
You only have a few days left to compete in this event! For this challenge, we want to see your adaptability in unique situations.
We are looking for the fastest time with only one rule: each player may only spawn one single unit with ground presence through the whole run!
• COMING SOON – Community 1p PvE Contest – early February
Hope you didn’t hide your warm clothes yet! To celebrate the end of winter, we will pay a visit to another Frost themed map. This time the challenge will be for a single Skylord, so bring your best deck and face the unknown. All the details should be published next week, stay tuned.
• Host your own event/tournament
Want to host a tournament or event? Please reach out to our Event Organizers Hiko and/or Metagross to have your event prizes sponsored by us. If you have a cool idea for a PvE event, or want to host a PvP tournament, please don't hesitate to reach out to us, we will gladly assist you.
• We need your help!
Now that we are able to implement voicelines and audio into the game (thanks to some great voiceactors helping us out!), we are looking for someone to help us with audio post-production and quality control. Unfortunately we currently do not have enough volunteers to continue implementing any further voicelines and sound effects into the game.
• Open Position: Audio Editor
We would love to continue adding voicelines for more cards and narration for new maps. As an Audio Editor, you will be responsible for selecting and extracting the best takes, doing post-production and making sure the overall quality is high enough to be implemented into the game. If you have more skills, you will also be able to design new sounds for the game as Audio Producer. Click here to read more and apply.
• Team changes
We are excited to finally add a marketeer/outreach coordinator to our team! Runeseeker will help us out with promoting the project and attracting new and old players alike. We appreciate the help and are happy to have him on our team!
We also have various potential team members doing their trial tasks. In the near future we hope to add more balance developers, moderators and an artist.
• In Conclusion
And that's it for this Community Update, thanks for reading!
As is tradition, this community update comes with a scratch code.
The code will reward you with a mini-booster: COMM-UNIT-YNEW-S18B
The code is valid till February 19th, when we will bring you another Community Update.
As always, we are open to feedback, so please let us know if you have any questions, suggestions or comments!

I am a bit torn. On the one hand, it was a lot of fun to build the decks (under certain time pressure) at the last Tome tournament and especially to take the one round from you. Damn I was a bit proud 🙂 But on the other hand I'm no pvp player at all and feel aways a bit uncomfortable. I will make up my mind until tomorrow evening.
Anyways I'll join the stream party as usual of course!

Hello Skylords, Skyladies and other Skybeings; and welcome to CCC #2 – the second Crappy Community Contest!
THE CONTEST HAS ENDED.
To see the winners, click here. If you are just here to grab the booster code, there you go: CCC2-SAVE-THEF-ORGE
What are “Crappy Community Contests”?
This and future CCC's are meant to be small-scale contests with weird challenges, hopefully luring you away from well-trodden paths. They are small-scale on the organizers side too: there will not be a stream, video or event announcing the winners. What's special about these contests is a participation price for the whole community.
What, when, where, how?
CCC#2 offers something very special – a completely new map made by Mynoduesp just for this contest:
The Besieged Forge - Fastest Time wins
As the Skylords return from their efforts to restore Nyn, the Forge itself became infiltrated by Stoneskin and Bandits.
For this challenge, win the 1-player community map
“CCC - The Besieged Forge” on Advanced difficulty
as fast as possible.
For instructions how to access the map, see below. The contest has already started – submit your replay together with your In-Game-Name through Discord (DM to Kapo#0116) or the Skylords Forum (DM to @Kapo) until 05. FEB 2022 23:59 CET (= 7 days time total).
You can find your replays here: Documents => Battleforge => replays (your last game will always be saved as autosave.pmv).
You can submit multiple times, but only the one with the fastest time will count. Please note that the Top 3 Replays will be posted here in the forums. To reduce my workload, you may rename your file to CCC2_<time>_<IGN>.pmv (e.g. CCC2_08.28_Kapo.pmv).
Special notice: Since this is a completely new map, if you find any major bug that breaks everything apart, and you finish in ten seconds (or something like that), we reserve the right to disqualify entries. Clever use of mechanics is still encouraged, though.
Community Maps
How to access “The Besieged Forge”:
What's the prize pool?
Since this is not just a Crappy Contest, but a Crappy Community Contest, you may earn a price for the whole Community. If we reach more than 25 participants (unique players, not entries), you will unlock a Mini-Booster code for the entire Skylords Community. If more than 40 participants enter, it will be upgraded to a General Booster instead of a Mini-Booster. So tell your fellow Skylords to try this challenge – it raises our chances to hand out a code for everybody.
The Skylords with the fastest times will get prices as well.
In the unlikely case of a tie, the run that was submitted earlier gets the higher placement in the ranks.
1st place 5 General Boosters + Rogan Kayle Promo + Stronghold + Ravenheart + Mauler
2nd place 4 General Boosters + Lyrish Knight Promo + Mindweaver + Ravenheart + Mauler
3rd place 3 General Boosters + Enlightenment + Moloch + Ravenheart + Mauler
4th place 2 General Boosters + Firedancer + Shadow Worm
5th place 1 General Booster + Wheel of Gifts + Shrine of Martyrs
6th place Spitfire + Bloodhorn P
7th place Core Dredge B + Skyelf Commander
8th place Tortugun R + Lost Grigori R
9th place Matter Mastery G + Cultist Master
10th place Revenge + Skyelf Commander
Last place Juice Tank (x4)
For participation, there is a random chance to win one of the following cards:
Random Draws 5x1 General Booster, Infect, Overlord, Brannoc, Church of Negation, Worldbreaker Gun, Juggernaut, Grinder R, Shrine of War
Sponsors
If one or more mighty Skylord(s) decides to sponsor this event, please contact me. I would be more than happy to expand the prize pool beyond 5th place, add additional random draws, or any other upgrades to the prize pool.
The following prices have been sponsored so far:
Skylords Team General Boosters (x20), Community Booster Code
Kapo Enlightenment, Moloch, Church of Negation, Mindweaver
Odessa Wheel of Gifts, Infect, Overlord, Brannoc, Firedancer, Shadow Worm
arabika Lyrish Knight Promo
THE_BIG_WET Rogan Kayle Promo
Damo Juice Tank (x4)
SylarXXI Core Dredge B, Tortugun R, Matter Mastery G, Shrine of Martyrs, Bloodhorn P, Skyelf Commander
Metagross31 Spitfire, Juggernaut, Cultist Master, Worldbreaker Gun, Revenge, Lost Grigori R, Revenge, Grinder R, Mauler (x3)
Glurak Shrine of War
Donaar Ravenheart (x3)
In conclusion
My very special thanks goes out to @Mynoduesp for proposing to make a map for the CCC and his awesome work. If you like the map as much as I do, go and tell him. 😉
I’d also like to add that the Editor and all necessary tools for creating a map are accessible to every Skylord at all times. So maybe the contest will spark some interest in the art of map making - as many of you already know, one of the most wished for and requested features for Skylords Reborn are new maps to play. The SR Team currently seeks out Map Testers, Map Artists, Map Designers and Map Developers.
Good luck and best regards,
Kapo

Hello Skyladies and Skylords,
It is time for chaos, it is time for a new tome tournament!
When?
On Sunday 30.01.22 starting on 2pm CET (Berlin time), the stream will start about 30 minutes in advance,
Deckbuilding starts arround 1pm!
Format?
The tournament will be played as a 1on1 best of 3 double elimination tournament, grand finals will be best of 5, no reset. The grand finalist coming from the winnerbracket will start with a win (1-0) already.
The format will be Tome, meaning you will build your decks for this tournament out of a booster pool I provide to you. We will play on the Testserver.
Prize Pool! (subject to change)
1st place - 3 Booster packs
2nd place - 2 Booster packs
3rd place - 1 Booster pack
+ some of the new cards for the top ~50% of all participants!
Organisation and sign-up
The tournament will be organized in challonge, sign up using the button below.
I will send you a list of your cardpool ~1h before the tournament starts, so be available in Discord. I will not send you 8 actual boosters.
We will play on the Testserver.
Rules! (read this)
• Be online in Discord or the forum ~1h before the tournament starts to receive your cardpool. If I cannot find you you cannot participate.
• Disconnection during a game results in a default loss. If both sides agree it is possible to have a remake.
• Not showing up to your match after 15 minutes results in a default loss. The plan is to play a round of matches every ~30 mins.
• After your match, go to Challonge and insert the result. That is done by clicking on your match and selecting the winner/stats . The brackets will be updated automatically.
• The Map Pool is: 1st round: Haladur, 2nd round: Simai, 3rd: Elyon, 4th: Lajesh, 5th: Uro and 6th: Yrmia (same pool as in ranked duel). The first match of the round will be played on the fixed map, then it is losers choice. The winning player (who won the previous match in this bo3) also has to lock in his deck first.
• The brackets for the tournament will be shuffled before the tournament starts.
• Use your Battleforge name for the tournament. If your Challonge account differs from your Battleforge account name use the "Sign up with an alternate name" feature or change your name for the tournament in the settings. Finding your opponent will be a LOT easier this way.
Questions
Reply in this thread if you have questions, I will check it out later.
Best regards,
Toggy

To everyone who still finds the PvP scene intimidating or has no idea where to start; every Wednesday evening Toggy hosts his Fightclub stream. Here you can watch PvP matches with commentary or participate yourself and get some helpful tips. Personally it has helped me a lot to understand both advantage and disadvantage better.
You can check the stream here, it usually starts somewere around 18:00/19:00.
Another tool is our Tutor discord. Here you can ask for advice and tips from more experienced players.

you can view them ingame --> be in the Forge --> Book icon on the top -->Profile --> Replay icon on the right side --> names will be as they are named in the replay folder but you can see the finish times of the replay selected, so as long as you know what your replay time is you should be fine. The replays are ordered based on recency, so if you know a date you can skip quite a few as well.
Also you can change the names of replays outside the game by changing the name in the following folder: C:\User\Battleforge\replays

Dutchy liked a post in a topic by Volin in Fire Enemies in rPvE
I'd like to give the following video a little more context than the thread here, which of course it relates to.
Of course, I could have played this better, we played a casual round with casual decks and had a nice chat in the Voice about everything and anything. I was a bit distracted.
The Batariel skill was already placed and was supposed to hit the back third of the camp, usually a good idea since the Batariel burns away the whole frontline of a camp while delivering good damage to half the camp. Usually...
And yes, I could have had about 5k more HP on the board, 500 energy reserve was a bit high. However, this situation looked different just a few seconds before, my SoW (which also tie up another 300 energy) had just supplied me with fresh energy again. As a pure fire player, I need something for my sustain - which admittedly could be played a bit better here - and for a fast bata skill- since I depend on fast voidreturn (a.k.a. "kills") on the one hand and since every dead enemy also takes damage out on me.
Unity was running out 1 second before the Fire Sphere hit me. Shame on me. Really.
But, let's imagine that the Bata skill would have been aimed centered, Unity would have been reactivated and I would have had 20,250 HP standing there instead of 15,050 HP. I would have felt way better presenting it, but would it have turned the battle around - let everyone answer this question for themselves 😉
Well and my goodness, if Frenetic/Infect can handle any situation, why doesn't the Volin play it....? 😛
Btw - Brannoc is a great boss, that's not a vote for changing anything here. It's just a small example of Fire's firepower and how quickly it can go to shit.
PS: And just btw, this was my 217th match with pure fire. I have the good experience that in such situations additional Emberstrikes in the mix, that provide 2,6k HP for 120 Energy, are a WAY better meatshield as the commonly played Fire Dragons, that have 2,4HP for 250 Energy. So the vast majority of fire players would have had 2 Batariels and 2 Fire Dragons in the game here at this point.... (Or one Batariel and 3 Fire Dragons)
You can imagine how the situation would have turned out, right? 😄

Dutchy liked a post in a topic by Volin in Fire Enemies in rPvE
After playing a few days again too much rpve I have to come back to this topic once again. 🙂
More and more I can't understand this "Fire is to easy" thing. Many people that I see struggle with the high damage output of the fire faction. I see a comparable amount of wipes against Fire then I see against Lost Souls. Even some above average players struggle if they come with (solid) non-meta decks.
Meta decks struggle partly too, especially when they bring the standard Fire T1 which can perform nicely but must be played very clean. Same for usual FireT1 vs T3 bases - the meta here is countered very well and only works when it is played super clean. Don't get me wrong, that's all doable tasks, but playing random groups I see a complete different picture then Fundus and the TO do see here.
And for the Bosses I see even the total opposite for this beast "Abbadon" - he is unfair strong and wipes most solo or duo engages in the first attempt, as his damage is overpowered high. I think I cleared him 2 times in the first approach in all the times that I met him and have seen the same for other players. This counts too for very strong and known above average players.
The only safe engage is in maps where the last row is a long line where all 4 players naturally gather and walk the path together, but even here I saw very close calls. Another quite safe engage is when you have a Nature (big heals) and a pure Frost player (both big shields) have huge armys or support a boss killer like Bloodhorns - all paired with a running Shrine of War to throw in all the mass heals and shields and the boss is down very fast.
When he stays as he is, I am quite sure some of us will learn to approach him better and better - no question. We will find ways to deal with him. But in the end we would have the same situation as for example a T3 Lost Souls camp, with Vigils, a double spawn on it, that is close to the outer lanes T2 - doable for some of us, while most players just feel desperate how to engage such situations. Or an even better comparison would perhaps be a LS BG10 with Vigils on T2. Yes this is doable, by roughly (if at all) 10 players on this server. Do we really want to tighten things that much?
I already start to read "Oh no fire" as the "Oh no Lost Souls" that we have. I personally still feel the faction is very well balanced and like the complete different feeling to fight them with their high damage output but therefore low HP. I am a big fan of learning how to deal with that instead of running away anything that is harder then a Bandit map with single spawn lanes on T3 - but making fire harder would not have a bit support from me. And according to Abbadon - please consider if his AoE dmg can nerfed to a point where a good player can heal/shield against it if he brings his spells on point. It feels unfair if 3 Players throw in heals and still a strong army is wrecked like nothing.

Dutchy liked a post in a topic by WindHunter in The Current State of the Economy & Reforging
Hello everyone,
As everyone knows, the in-game economy shifted massively after the advent of the Reforging system. This has led a number of players to express concerns about the health of the economy, and as such we would like to share some relevant economic data with the community.
Some important information on the data: When it says "Fire Pool" it includes every card in the game which includes a Fire Orb. The data was collected and presented in this manner because this is how Reforging works when it tells you that the output card has an X% chance of containing a Fire Orb. Additionally, all price information presented is an average of actual sales in the auction house over a given period. While some extreme outliers were removed from the data set, such as 5 bfp Harvesters and 400 bfp Northguards, in 99% of instances the data was accepted as-is without tampering from our side.
Control Data Set: Contains data prior to the release of Reforging, from June to September 2021.
Post-Reforging Data Set: Contains data from two weeks after the release of Reforging, approximately December 25th 2021 to January 5th 2022.
Initial Analysis of Data Set:
At first glance, you can quickly see that after the update the following changes occurred:
The average, median, and minimum prices of Common cards increased across the board. The minimum and median prices of Uncommon cards increased across the board, while the maximum and average prices decreased. The decrease in average prices can be attributed to 1-2 outlier cards in most factions, such as Frost Mage and Shaman, which substantially increased the average price of Uncommon cards in their respective factions. The same thing happened to Rare cards as happened to Uncommon cards. Average, median, and max price of Ultra-rare cards decreased across the board while minimum price increased. General booster worth decreased from 378 bfp to 311 bfp. Given booster prices are still discounted by 100 bfp until January 18th, this means it is actually more worthwhile to open boosters after the update than it was before. On average, the daily discounted booster will profit a player 61 bfp post-update versus 28 bfp pre-update. How this data will move after the discount is removed remains to be seen, but we expect a slow creep up in prices for cards across the board. Reforging established a minimum base worth for all cards dependent on rarity that did not exist prior. For now this seems to be: Common: 4-5 bfp Uncommon: 14-16 bfp Rare: 62-64 bfp Ultra-rare: 153-165 bfp Neutral Cards - A Control Set
Control Data Set: Neutral card prices;
Post-Reforging Data Set: Neutral card prices
Neutral cards were purposefully excluded from the Reforging feature. As such, they can only be put into the Reforging system but can never come out. This makes them a good control for examining the data because their prices should only increase when combined with Reforging. While this happened with the Common and Uncommon cards, the same is not true for Rare and Ultra-rare cards. The only increases to Rare and Ultra-rare cards seem to be in-line with those cards increasing to match the base value of other cards of their rarities. This can be seen with Curse Well and Curse Orb and partially in Queek Queek, though it is possible due to the low trading volume of QueekQueek the numbers were simply erratic in the period examined.
This decrease in the value of Rare cards and the value stagnation of undesirable Ultra-rare cards we see in Neutral cards was a consistent trend among all card values pre-update. If you look above, you will see that the maximum price of Shadow Pool cards in the control data is shown as 3865 bfp. As many of you might have guessed, this data point refers to Infect. Now if you were active in the weeks before the update, you will also know that the price of Infect at the time was actually in the 4500-5000 bfp range. In only a 2-month period, the average price of Infect inflated by between 700-1200 bfp. This trend was not confined to only Infect but to every desirable Ultra-rare card in the game.
The market trends pre-update (not shown here) were that Common cards were largely worthless, Uncommon cards were following the same trend, Rare cards were steadily decreasing in price (even among sought after cards such as Overlord, Bloodhorn, and Amii Monument), and desirable Ultra-rare and promo cards were increasingly inflating. This was because Ultra-rare and promo cards were the only remaining sources of value left in the economy. Reforging changed this by condensing the total price range of the market and by giving each card in the game a base level of value.
