    Hey!

is it possible for u guys to implement some kind of card destruction system? I like to keep my collection tidy, and at this point i have a lot of common cards that cant sell on auction since they all go for 3bfp. So i have to put a lot of auctions up every second day just for them to not get sold. It would be awesome if we were able to destroy cards we dont want/need, and maybe get 1bfp for that no matter the rarity, or maybe small amount of gold, or maybe nothing, just so i can keep my collection neat and tidy.

    Thank you!

    Greetings Skylords, Skyladies, and Skyfolks,

this is a minor update that contains mostly behind the scenes changes that were required for our maintenance we had on the 22nd of May. It also contains a new feature that allows players to see all of the boosters they have opened in the past!

    General fixes
Fixed postgame screen (after a match) showing a negative BFP gain occasionally.  Players will no longer receive a warning in the middle of their screen that their in-game mailbox is full while in-game. Improved numerous tooltips in the in-game Rankings page. General changes
The selected auction duration will not reset to its default after placing the auction. Instead it will stay at the last selected auction duration. All Snapjaws Promo are now tradeable. They still cannot be obtained from boosters. Changed the `Complete Quests` achievement to reward an All-Editions booster every 20 completed quests. Removed the `Latest Booster` button and replaced it with a `History` button that will open a window showing the complete history of opened boosters for that player.

I am sorry: everyone works on this in their free time and the weekend is a good time for us because then most developers have time to help.

With that being said, servers are up and running again!

The game servers will be down for a few hours for the maintenance starting now, but it could also take considerably longer. It depends on how long it takes our data to be exported and imported between our new machines. We will update here once it goes live again.

    Hey everyone,

we're planning on doing some maintenance work today, on the 22nd May of 2021, as we're in the process of changing our server providers. We are expecting a downtime of our forums starting from 12:00 until at least 19:00 CEST. For the majority of time in that period, our game servers will still be accessible, although there will also be a short downtime of approximately 30 minutes to 90 minutes sometime during that period. The test game server will be unaffected by the downtime.

    Best regards, Skylords Reborn Team.

    EDIT:
Unfortunately the downtime is longer than expected and might take a few hours to finish. We are sorry for the inconvenience, we are proceeding as quickly as possible.

Sounds fun and what's the prize pool?

There will be two prize pools: Novice and Expert. Submissions will be categorized in one of those two groups depending on how many points the submission has: if the submission has a low amount of points it will be in the Novice group and if it has a high amount of points it will be in the Expert group. We will not disclose in what category a submission belongs, in the case of a draw, the faster time ranks higher. Each group has different rewards and all booster packs are the standard (all-editions) booster packs.

    Expert prize pool

1st place              Promo of your choice   + 4 Booster packs
2nd place             Promo Razorleaf          + 2 Booster packs
    3rd- 8th place     3 Booster packs

    Novice prize pool

    1st place             4 Booster packs
    2nd place            3 Booster packs
    3rd- 8th place    1 Booster packs

    Wait, there is more!
The following award will be given out by the community at the end of the challenge.
Every participant can nominate themselves for the Community Award (only those who apply for the award will be able to win it).

The voting for the winner will take place on Twitch, where we will reveal the contest winners as well.
    https://www.twitch.tv/skylordsreborn

    The Community Award:

    The Creative Kill

The One who showed the Twilight Infester their dominance.
--> Kill the final boss as uniquely as possible.
For example: try not to use the same units as another participant for the final kill.
This will decrease the chance for both of you to win this category.
     4 Booster packs

    Some Clarification

    Map Clarification
    GREEN(A):    2 small western camps
    YELLOW(B):  Center camp
    PURPLE(C):   Southern camp
    BLUE(D):       Northern camp
    ORANGE(E): Final camp

    Card Clarification
(YELLOW(A)) A tower is mainly recognizable by its damage number.
(GREEN(B)) The rarity of a card can be found at the bottom right corner.
The lost Launcher is common (bronze). The color is important and not the symbol!
You can find all card rarities here.

    In conclusion
This event is unlike anything we have done so far, so it might be a bit overwhelming. Here is in simple steps what you must do to participate:
    - The map to play on is Siege of Hope on Expert Difficulty
    - Look at the categories and points you wish to achieve and do your best to clear the map earning as many points as possible.
    - Once you are satisfied with your result, DM (Minashigo Hiko#1126 in Discord) or PM (in forum) your best replay to me. You can only send in once.
    - Make sure to add a description of the categories (points) you went for and completed!
    - If you want to apply for the community reward (The Creative Kill), make sure to mention that as well.
    - Wait until the end of the contest (15.06.2021 23:59 CEST) to see if you have won some prizes!
    - We will announce them in a stream on the 26.06.2021 19:00 CEST

    Future events
If you are interested in creating events like this for the community or if you want to help with creating events, don't be afraid and simply send me a direct message via Discord (name as above) or a PM to me on the forum. We are happy to assist you with upcoming events and with sponsoring your prize pool!
We hope you have a lot of fun with this event. We are looking forward to all your replays!
Please do not hesitate to ask, if you have any questions.

    Best regards,
    Skylords Reborn Team

Everyone submits their replay in which they show how they achieved a certain amount of points. Instead of looking at all submissions as one pool, we will divide the submissions into two pools (Novice and Expert) depending on the points. We will not disclose in what group you are in with a certain amount of points. Primary goal of this is to avoid having very good players claim all the rewards, as now we will also look at the "top" novice players.

    Greetings Skylords!

It's been two weeks already since our second community update so it's time to bring you up to speed with everything going on in Skylords Reborn!
    Promo Snapjaws
Collectors rejoice! Promo Snapjaws will be trade-able after the next maintenance update. This promo was handed out through a scratch code that was only valid around the time of the game release. If you missed out on this one, you can now trade or buy them in the AH from other players. If they are willing to part from it of course!
There are currently no plans to distribute the Snapjaw Promo through boosters.

New Patch on the Test Server
A new patch has hit the test server with quite a lot of changes in all kind of categories. Full notes can be found attached to this post, but here are some things that are currently being tested. Please note: none of those are final, and they will not necessarily make their way to the live server in this state! Please give us feedback regarding those changes on the balance discord!
    Global Changes
Various tier 3 units (Swamp Drake, Bandit Lancer, Fallen Skyelf, etc.) have had their charges increased.
    PvE Changes
Thugs have received a new ability to compensate for the nerfs they received with the removal of looter. There is also some love for pure frost.
    PvP Changes
After some necessary nerfs in the last few patches, we are now in a position where we can also buff some cards to provide more options and playstyles. Various tier 3 units (Drones, Unstable Demon, Magma Hurler, etc.) are seeing some buffs, while counter units like Lyrish Knight and Gladiatrix are also being looked at.
    Bug Fixes
A couple of bug fixes and a change that makes Bloodthirst and Unity stackable with every other regeneration ability in the game (others will follow).
    Class Fixes
Some units have had their class changed or fixed. This can mean the correct melee or ranged class, but also creature class (Deathglider is now a Demon for all you Eliminator lovers out there!).
    QoL description changes
Some nice Quality of Life changes in descriptions have been made to make cards easier to understand or consistent. Please note this is not the big description changes mentioned in an earlier update yet; that is still in the works. Noteworthy would be the Mountaineer: It now shows the hidden ammo generation used for its attack and ice shield, so one can better use the card. Additionally U0 now also has the Glacier Shield for consistency with the shown ammo system.

As mentioned before, those changes are still on the test server and you can find the full list of changes in the document attached to this post. Please note that for the changes to be implemented, we had to clear the test server accounts. So don't be startled if you have to create a new account.

    Skylords Reborn Design Philosophy
Now that Skylords Reborn has been released fully, we are looking at the future of the game for the next couple of years. Over the past months there have been a lot of discussions and feedback regarding the state of the game and the changes to make (or not make) moving forward. In the attached document, we go extensively into this topic. We understand not everyone will be interested in reading 12 pages, but we did want to take the time to clarify our vision for the future as much as possible.
As unique as Battleforge is, it also has some unique concerns in regards to balance. Where most RTS games only provide a limited number of factions to play, the number of decks in Battleforge is virtually uncountable. And while most other RTS games limit their balancing concerns to either competitive or cooperative play, Battleforge has to serve them both. Fortunately, this is mitigated by the fact that PvE and PvP are often build around different core-cards. However, some overlap between cards is inevitable and some changes will have ripple effects in other formats.
In this document we have striven to detail the thought process behind how we will be balancing the game moving forward. We have broken the document into three parts: Introduction, PvE Balance, and Fundamental Game Principles.
The reason we have written this document is to give you, the community, a clear view into our philosophy and stance on certain topics. We will use the topics described here as guidelines for the changes we will make in the coming months.
This is just a start that covers our fundamentals for faction design and more concrete documents will follow. We want to analyze and discuss each faction in particular and shed light into our roadmap.
As always, we are open to constructive feedback.

New Team Members / Team Changes
Another new member, HardwareHeinz, has joined the Skylords Reborn team. We are happy to have him as our new Global Moderator.
We would also like to take this time to thank MrXLink for all the work he put in Skylords Reborn over the years. After many years and many roles, he has decided to step down as a member of the Skylords Reborn team. You can read his full explanation here. We wish him all the best and are grateful for all his hard work.
We are still looking for new team members! If you want to see Skylords Reborn succeed, please take a look at how you can help. We recently added these new positions: backend web developer, frontend web developer and C# developer.

    In conclusion

What about the player starts with a random deck? Not completely random of course, but a random deck that satisfies a few conditions to make it playable.

Adding a feature to be able to separate decks into folders should be relatively easy. With that being said, the biggest complication with this feature would be figuring out how to properly manage the decks (as in, determine what decks goes where and be able to move them between folders), because drag and drop functionality in BattleForge is quite weird and as of now would require research to figure out if it could be built upon (or if it would require us to build our own drag and drop framework). Or maybe there is a good enough way to manage decks without drag and drop.

Right now all decks you make are just in a giant dump that you have to filter with names and/or which orbs they contain.
As someone who doesn't focus on any particular deck not only did I hit the 100 cap a few times and had to clean up, I also naturally have a giant list of decks. But I noticed that there are already something like subfolders present. Namely "General" and "Beginner". My suggestion is to implement the feature of creating such folders yourself and the ability to open/close them.

Please read what @Aviat0r has posted just a few messages above before assuming that the development team isn't fixing issues. Especially if you post this statement one hour after your initial post!

This feature is technically possible and could be added with relative ease (with an option to disable it) if there's enough interest for it.
Personally though, I think the BattleForge chat can already be quite bloated. Saying hi in the Strategy channel already is [{GM}Ladadoos] says to strategy: hi and with this feature it would only get longer. But I suppose this symptom is alleviated with the setting to disable this feature. The timestamp could perhaps be a tooltip on each message instead, too.

How would you format the timestamp?

I would like to quickly touch upon this because it is, yet again, a wrong assumption that is just randomly being thrown in public.
We are far from having a surplus of developers: there are currently three (client) developers who could work on this feature, being me, Zyna and now MarcoMaar too. There is a reason we have open developer positions as can be seen here.  The booster history feature was an entry test for the client developer position and not a feature our current client developers worked on. So please(!) either contact a staff member to discuss these matters to avoid making false assumptions, or even better, leave it out considering it adds no value to the suggestion you are making. To make matters worse: staff need to spend their time correcting this, which is time that could have been spent developing. Those remarks and comments like "it will most likely die like always and go unnoticed" are also completely unnecessary and just distract from what matters: the suggestion.
Because there is more involved than the implementation and also seemingly simple tasks can more often than not be very difficult or impossible to add. So please let the developers who have the required game knowledge and access to the codebase judge the simplicity of an implementation.

    Now, as for your suggestions:
Adding a new currency is possible. Adding cosmetics is possible and has been WIP for a while. Adding multipliers is possible.
