    There would be no extra gamemode. What there would be however is upgrade three fully charged cards considered as tome cards which can only be used in PvP (ranked and unranked). I don't see this necessarily splitting the community, as PvP players don't seem to play PvE regardless. What this would do is make PvP players not quit the game.

    I was thinking of a 1vs1 custom map in which player A plays normally while player B is not allowed to spawn units and buildings, but could only use spells. However player B is helped by PvE units that spawn from buildings in intervals and attack player A. The PvE enemy also has camps with defenses. Player A wins when all PvE camps are destroyed while player B wins when player A is killed or the time runs out.
    So basically it is a PvE map for player A, but the PvE enemy is helped by a real player (maybe he should be able to micro the spawned units as well). 
    Any map creator who wants to give a shot at this idea?
    I think it should be possible to let player B not spawn any units or buildings by setting his starting monument + power wells (and extra monuments and wells to take) on an island with high mountains in between the rest of the map (so flying units cant fly over). The rest is basically a normal pve map, so maybe an existing PvE map could be used as a base to test if this idea is really as cool as it seems to me. If it turns out to be great it could also be done as a 2vs1 map (with better pve units) or as a 2vs2 map I guess.

    I am not interested in participating in whatever "feud" is ongoing. I simply claim the following:
    1. Back in the days everyone shared everything pretty much (before rankings feature came into play...again this is how I remember it...). Eg. "Look what I did on Crusade, cool ain't it" and then someone replied like "Well, you can save some seconds here and there" and shortly thereafter "Thanks dude, I managed to cut another few seconds off!".
    2. My comment was in general terms and had nothing to do with either side of the "feud". I simply do not like people that do not understand that to take you need also to give and vice versa.

    Idea is simple - somehow give all cards with U3 upgrades, but only for ranked PvP. 
    This will definetely lead us to bigger activity in PvP and also game will become more attractive for player from other RTS games, where in PvP matches you usually have access to every unit from the start. These new people will help us to keep game and community alive.
    I know at least one SC2 player with good youtube audience who had an idea to play in BF PvP until he realized that even for PvP he should collect and upgrade so many cards... If he would start to play we could have more players from his youtube channel, and also it will be easier for newcommers from other RTS enjoy Battleforge and many other cases like this.
    For unranked PvP, cPvE and rPvE you will still have to collect cards and enjoy collection.

    Most players are from Europe, so you checked for the player count when most players were sleeping. Usually there are more than 100 persons online during the day. We've picked up the development pace in the last couple of months and we're moving towards release faster than ever before. We definitely expect the player base to go up then, since many people are waiting for the reset on release. With an increased player base, the auction house prices should also be more healthy.

    I wasn't able to keep Revenant alive throughout a whole battlegrounds. I think my maximum was about 4:30 to 5 minutes which is still considerable but far from indefinite. Generally the duration ran out after 3 to 4 minutes. The strategy has massive issues with long distance travel, so dead ends really kill the strategy as time is overall limited and the as you cant stay within Revenants Blessing to move you cut that time down further just by moving like that. That is why you need to plan your route meticously and scout the general map layout through the fog of war.
    The deck revolved around using Lost Evocation + Blood Healing for sustain, 2x Revenants Blessing and both Netherwarps and staying clumped up with units as much as possible within bases to minimize the useage of Revenants Blessing.
    A pure lost Souls deck is relatively underwhelming as is the case for most factions. What I like to do is build decks around keycards from these factions and if there are 2 cards that are relatively close in useability you choose the one that is of the faction even if slightly weaker than the "optimal choice". I think that way you can build a useable deck that can stay true to the factions/key cards identitiy without sacrificing playability too much.
    To stay on topic of Lost Souls here you might want to play Viridya with Lost shades + Home Soil-Ice Barrier/ Motivate (Frostbite and Gravity Surge if necassary). While that makes it a non pure deck the core unit still is Lost Shades and you merely use supporting cards to enable/enhance the strategy.
    You can generally build around 1 or 2 such concepts/ key cards for each tier and then build around that accordingly. You just need to ensure that certain cards do not take over the deck. Prominent examples are the aforementioned Frenetic assault and Infect as it is all too easy to suddenly make the deck reliant on those cards rather on the key cards you initially chose as such.
    So e.g. you have the theoretical choice between Frenetic Assault and Coldsnap, Knight of Chaos or Glyph of Frost, Lost Converter --> discard Frenetic Assault as it is most likely to overbearing and pick one of the other ones that either works well with your current deck on the current map and that you can execute on. If choose the Freezing stuff maybe think about picking up complementary units like Lost Wanderer to enhance damage against frozen units or use netherwarp to teleport(requires t3) units into the effect radius of Lost Converter use Soul splicer to pick up souls and feed the converter, use Lost Vigils as main unit to make use of the building in t3 --> etc. You get the drill. Maybe you can make certain buildings or cards work at multiple times in the game that way.

    i know this is a bit of abstract advice and maybe not the direct one you searched for but i hope that this helps you nonetheless.

    If you want to learn how to change battleforge textures into looking anew without any drawing skills than this tutorial is for you.
    First Step. Open https://deepdreamgenerator.com/ and make yourself an account. This online service is free and allows you to use neural network to make one image looks like other.
    Second Step. When you log in successfully press button in upper right corner. After that generator page will open.
    To change image you need to upload it first - use button and select some battleforge texture or any other image you want to change.
    There are 3 types of changing - Deep Style (that we need), Thin Style (like deep but very simple) and Deep Dream (weird eyes everywhere).
    Deep Style is chosen by default so move forward. You will see default presets but you need to upload your own style (style image). Press the white button with arrow. It'll allow you to upload another image. Select image that you want to turn first one into.

    Third Step. Press the <Settings> menu to open it. You can change how much style will be applied to image, quality of applying, size of image and so on. Press question marks for further details of setting.
    When you choosed you preferable settings press button below settings menu and wait before its completed.
    And here is results of process:

    Thanks for creating the challenge. Was a lot of fun to work out a strategy for the map even if I didn't push my strategy to the asbolut maximum. I am excited for some of the replays and how other people solved this.
    In my opinion it is a little bit disappointing that so few people participated, especially considering how many good PvE and rPvE players decided to forgo the map. Nonetheless great job to the team and all participants. Hopefully there will be more challenges in the future with a bit higher participatioon

    You can try to summon the skeleton warrior army before you run in and have them in front of Harvester/Bata to tank the paralyze of the dragons.

    If you ever wanted to open battleforge model to examine or change it so this tutorial is for you. With the help of k4rr0t I figured out how to get BF models opened. And here is tutorial for that.
    Step 1 - unpacking .pak files.
    They are located in <BattleForge\base\pak> folder. To unpack them you will need to download QuickBMS program at that link: QuickBMS
    Then you will need script for QuickBMS: Battleforge Script
    After launchng QuickBMS it will ask for script (battleforge.bms) that you must choose. Then select your .pak files (units are stored in bf1_gfx_units_skel_*.pak). You can select all .pak files you need at once.
    When your .pak files are selected choose folder where you want extracted files to appear.
    If you did everthing right you will have .drs (models), .dds (textures) and .ska (animations).
     
    Step 2 - looking into files.
    To examine models you will need LightSong program that you can get at moddb: LightSong 0.4
    After install get special .exe to use with battleforge and put in the same folder you installed 0.4 version: LightSong 0.5
    As LightSong.v0.5.exe is ready to use launch it and open .drs model that you need. Sadly some models with a lot of details can't be opened.
    Using right click on model mesh allows to use other .dds texture.
    Model can be exported as .obj or .smd in Tools menu If you have some 3d software like Maya or Milkshape or Blender.
    Step 3 (Optional) - make custom textures and/or models and make Battleforge great again.

    What a tournament! Thanks to everyone who participated, we had some entertaining, high quality games on stream today and I'm looking forward to watch all your replays in the upcoming days. It might take a while, but I will announce the award winners here once I finished watching all games! 
     
    And our final Tournament results for everyone, who didn't get to watch it.
     
    7th-8th Place: Impossible / Fodasseman 
    5th-6th Place: Navarr / Deldrimor
    4th Place: Draken, taking the 1500 bfp price
    3rd Place: Hyp3r, taking the 2000 bfp + Juggernaut price

    We had 39 registered participants and most of them also ended up showing up! Really great numbers for our community! Thanks for the games, it was a  great experience! I will try to hand out the prices as soon as possible! And please send me your replays to be considered for the award ceremony!  
    Stream might be uploaded to youtube (if the twitch export function works this time ...) and I will try to cast alot of your replays in the end!
