  1. Hi all,

I would like to thank you for all the :hype: and encouragement you have given us, it has been a pleasure seeing the popularity of this open beta. Unfortunately, like Link mentioned, unforeseen bugs prevent us from keeping to the release date, and for that I am personally really sorry and seek your forgiveness. We all, and Fiki especially, have been working countless hours everyday to try to keep to this promise, but unfortunately in development, the Murphy’s Law often applies and in this case it sadly did. I hope you can find it in your hearts to support us through this, and we will come out of this stronger than  ever together as a community.

  2. Hey guys,

This sort of discussion type is going very fast into flaming territory. There are many various sarcastic comments meant to mock or accusations from one player to another. Please calm down abit, and remember that this is an unpaid project. The devs are not getting anything out of this.

As regards to our developers and setting released dates, this is a very huge scale project and as such it is very difficult to estimate when certain features will work or not. The fact that we are reverse engineering the server from the client makes things even harder, not easier. Last minute crucial bugs are a thing, and unfortunately we have had a fair share of them recently. I’m sure you all would rather a stable server than some server that will have many unfixed crucial bugs that will bring about even more frustration.

It is not even the end of the specified release timeframe yet so, if nothing else, at least hold on to your pitchforks until then. Such negative energy is really discouraging for our devs who are hard at work at the very moment I speak to bring back the game we all love!

From what I have taking out of the previous posts, it just seems that some numbers are wrong, is that correct?

The Nox Trooper for example seems to be correct (400 Damage/20s), but in the case of the Nightguard the correct damage would be 480 Damage/20s, while the card says 450. Taking the splash damage into consideration would even boost this value up to 720 Damage/20s.

Is it possible to fix this issue in Skylords Reborn? Or did I just understand the concept wrong?

no your understanding of the concept is totally right, as I said I think its just plain miscalculations on the part of Phenomic. To fix in skylords reborn that is actually a good question and I am not totally qualified to answer but it should be possible. Practicality is a more important issue though because out of 540 cards  that exist right now, probably 100-200 cards have wrong values at least, and changing them all would require some serious coding time and changing the visuals/graphics to match the new values. I wonder when that would become a priority, if ever.

Thank you for your help. While the Nummber is sadly totaly useless as its weird and also often wrong as you said but at least i now know that some units deal more damage against other when the Icon says it so (because other units will point that out like Soul dancer = more damage against Humans which is of course a bit diffrent than just sized characters).

Its tricky, with the units in BF there are actually many hidden information not shown directly on the card values. There is also a difference between single target damage, and another type of damage called "Splash damage". Basically what you watch out for is in the card description itself. As an example, Nox troopers description is: every two seconds, unit fires a blast of energy at an enemy that deal 40 damage. While nightguard's is: Every 2 seconds, unit throws her spear at enemies dealing 48 damage in a 5m radius around its target,  up to 72 in total.

Out of these two examples the nox topper would deal "single target damage" while nightguard deals splash damage, which means if there is one enemy unit she deals 40 damage, while having multiple enemy units in 5m radius of each other she deal up to 72 damage.

Part of this is the reason why the values are so misleading by itself, the other is just poor card design by the original team and poor or in some cases serious miscalculations on their part. TL;DR: see Treim's post above :P Thanks for the ninja @Treim

They released a youtube video about the open beta, where they state that it is likely to be realesed around the 23rd of march.

@NexusNeos96 @SSmurf99 Just to clarify since many people mix this up, this video is not an official video which means it is not from the skylords reborn team. It was made from the community channel from one of the alpha testers(aka me). The estimated date in the video however was not entirely groundless as Fiki had passingly mentioned that in ask_skylords on discord, that however also means it is by NO way fixed(it is not fixed at all) so please take it with a grain of salt and don’t expect OB to be released right on 23rd. It can be earlier or later in the week of 19-26 of March. The only official word from the team is and has always been 19-26 so please rely on those dates more. Sorry for any misconception. :(

yea same is happening to me, maybe we need to wait till the game is 100% working for it to launch

Hey guys nothing is supposed to happen when you click the .exe file. The launcher is a separate file by itself which will be made public for download when open beta is released.

  8. @Skankinpig Projected numbers are really a hard thing. But to put things into perspective, discord giveaways generally tend to attract 300 people on average within the minute or so that it runs, so to extrapolate that I would guess that it’s not impossible that the first 1000 would sign up within a day.

As for concurrent players, it’s impossible to tell but I would guess around 1000 people for the first few days and afterwards maybe 1-2k. I have seen similar revives and with a much higher forum member count their concurrent player count was still 1000 so the figure I predicted is actually pretty optimistic one.

The biggest problem we have though stems back to EA times. Due to (almost non-existent) advertising, more than 60-70%(a pure guess but I’m pretty confident about it) of the playerbase in the original BF and therefore probably also skylords reborn is from Europe, therefore keeping a high concurrent player count during night time in Europe will be a big challenge.

so with regards to advertising it is more important to make sure the revival gets worldwide coverage, with a bigger focus on the americas and Asia. I’m talking about American/Asian based gaming websites etc. I’ve seen a lot of German gaming sites for example post about this project since alpha so I’m pretty sure that will continue at every milestone for the project, but global advertisement is still a huge problem.

@Kiwi Just double checking, that’s something Hawk said to me long ago in not such an “official” fashion, maybe it was just an alpha thing. He also said that way way before we got green light from EA so that might have been a big factor.  thanks for your answer regardless :) From EA’s side it would seem they allow monetization of their game footage through some quick research on their site

Sadly though I don't think we can give anything back in return for payment but you can make money from Twitch and the YouTube videos

Really? Last info I got from Hawk was that monetization on YouTube was not allowed, never heard anything to the contrary.

  10. Yu gi oh? Nice

Avatar o Frost seems Op though, if I understand correctly you gotta attack/ use a spell twice in a turn for it to die?

And omg construct destroying cards left and right
