      @Crosego Thanks! I've got 2 or 3 more on the way :)

nice, waiting for those then ^^

  2. That's because windweavers shoot every 2, 5 seconds. I'm not sure if that's every 2.5 seconds or twice every five seconds (one shot after 2 seconds, one shot after 3 more seconds) but either way, it works out to 8 shots in a 20 second window, which is 480 damage. @Ladadoos I just looked at the allbfcards. It just says every 2 seconds. Is that a problem for all the archers?
  3. Good job! I like the pictures. My only comment is that you should probably specialize and advertise this as maybe a graphic or interface guide to For overall guides, you'd have to be competing with Kaldra's and Circadia's (both are super awesome and I'd suggest you check them out). I'm not saying you can't compete with them, but Circadia's guide is one of the best guides I've seen for any game, ever.
  4. I think this is a great idea. Both stats should be available (because games played is super important), but it won't stop smurfing. I think the biggest reason for it, like you said, was that nobody wants to deal with the trash talk from noobs while you try out a new deck. Also, people won't play with you. Towards the end of Battleforge, when I was hovering around Legend/Hero, I wanted to try out a couple different decks. The only problem was that I wasn't that good with any deck besides my main (using kobold trick was so weird for me that I forgot to do it most of the time ). I didn't want to get crushed by the people I normally play with, since I was probably playing below gold shield in terms of rank, so I tried to enter sparring grounds with players of that rank. Nobody wanted to play with me, because all they saw was my shiny ELO and they thought I would crush them with my normal deck. Of course, if and when they beat me, I'm sure they would brag for a while about how they beat a Hero and post my failure online. As annoying as that would be, I can only imagine how much worse it would be if I was good enough for them to know WHO I was, and brag specifically about beating ME.
  5. Well, the point is that players good enough to know better only get irritated by mistakes. That's not a real problem. The actual problem is that sometimes less experienced players may be lead astray. Entertainment value is great, and is the main reason I post most of the replays (if people want to learn things, I can make separate series for that). But I cast the blanket statement that disenchant and hurricane are useless in a fire-nature deck (it's true that I used neither, but not true that I believe that statement) and beginners believe me and don't use them because of that, then I need to take responsibility for misleading them. I can recall a livecast FarRock played against someone (LostCronus I think) and FarRock completely misdiagnosed why he lost and claimed that his opponent was laming and playing broken cards (while FarRock himself was doing some heavy sunderer laming). That was more the exception than the rule, and I definitely enjoyed the majority of FarRock's replays, but I think it's unhealthy for new players to see "top" players complain about the brokenness of their enemies instead of acknowledging their own faults. At any rate, I'm not bashing FarRock and I think his videos are quite good for what they are. I just wanted a public statement about what I'm trying to do so that others can keep me on course if I start to wander . @YaBro0 I might have a bit of time this weekend. PM me if you want to try to work something out.
  6. I agree with all of this. That's one of the things I'm worried about as I commentate, because I know that I wasn't SUPER good and I especially didn't have a lot of match-up knowledge that didn't involve fire-nature. I try to emphasize that my comments are suggestions and that I can't say for sure, but some day I might get cocky and start asserting myself I'd love to dual commentate with anyone! And I think that would help a lot, because I can say something and my co-commentator can offer a differing opinion.
  7. On my guide, each faction has a subsection called "evolution of the deck." In this subsection, I ask a player who played that faction (LagOps and Taker are my previous volunteers) to explain their process on how their deck changed as they became better players. Obviously this section isn't useful if you picked up a faction after you were really good. The point is to illustrate the reasons you changed your deck to make it better, and why you made those changes. Speaking of this, I still need a Fire-Frost player to do this section as well.
  8. Now contracting someone to write the "Evolution of the Deck" for pure nature! @dekka @beijingguy @Darian DelFord
  9. Nope, this card is actually fairly essential in fire splashes (especially fire-nature). I agree that it's not very good, but it has solid stats and a solid ability. Since Sun Reaver got nerfed to oblivion, this is really the only L unit worth playing for Fire-Nature-Fire (other candidates include magma hurler, mutating maniac, thornbark, sun reaver, twilight creeper, and vulcan). I would dearly love for something like mutating maniac to get buffed and replace virtuoso, but until then, it remains the best fire splash siege unit (I like giant slayers more because they're cheaper and have higher dps, but they die so easily.)
  10. If you cancel the building of an orb, I believe you only lose 25 power. Let me check to find the exact amount. But yes, it's less.
  11. This guide seems to be a aimed a lot more at general information than shadow-specific info. You should check out @RadicalX's guide: Since RadicalX is one of the most respected members of this community, and one of the best players of all time, you have a lot to compete with if you want to make the same type of guide as him. I'd suggest finding a way to differentiate your guide from his. If you're curious about the other guides out there, I also made a thread highlighting some of the best guides out there. If there were more than one guide discussing the exact same topic, I just included the better one.
  12. How's the guide coming along? My offer to check it over for English readability still stands.
  13. Yeah, there's lots of little things, but those really only separate ranks when you get past the gold shield ranks. What @xHighTech is saying is that "big-picture" knowledge and skill is much better than small micro moves. I completely agree with him (but that's not really your question, was it?). Yeah, you should play a whole bunch and by the time you understand the game fundamentals, you'll probably have picked up most of the small tricks. That said, I am planning a video series when the game comes out. This will cover small "techs" that lead to small advantages. However, you have to be good enough to capitalize on gaining that small advantage first. Some of the things I plan to discuss are bodyblocking and killing S units, fake frenzy, charge and rage manipulation, etc. If you don't know what some of those are I can give you a brief explanation, and if you (or someone else) can think of other things to add to my list, I'll add it to my list.
  14. Just wanted to let y'all know that I'm temporarily suspending my work on this guide. The forums have grown quite a bit since I last updated it, and I'm still taking suggestions and making notes if anyone who never noticed this has anything else to add. However, I don't have a ton of time right now (and I have lots of things coming up in mid-February) and I think my resources are better spent making videos than updating this guide. Of course, if people would rather me write this guide than make videos, I can do this instead. I actually prefer writing than commentating (but I have a do a LOT of writing normally, so casting videos is a nice break), but I think more people watch videos than read this monstrous guide. I really shouldn't be spending any time here right now, but Battleforge is important to me and I'm willing to make sacrifices for it. Anyway, sorry for such a long break, but you don't have to worry about me quitting. This WILL get finished!
  15. I knew a few LS players who liked to use them. Nobody higher than Legend or so, but I know they used to be used for their high health. Before nerfs, it worked well with that furnace of flesh combo, and they nastied super well. If I recall, at one point in the game I was talking with @MaranV and he showed me his stonekin deck. I asked him why he didn't have lyrish knight and he told me there was this big debate about whether lyrish or phalanx and lightblade were better XL counters. He was on the side of phalanx and lightblade, but I don't think he stayed with them. At high level play, I think they just get microed around too often.
  16. Slightly off topic....but maybe it's a type of badger/wolverine? Or something in that family. @ the firedancer, there are plenty of threads entirely devoted to it
  17. But how easy is it to trick someone into spawning too many sunstriders, and then rushing a different base with burrowers? Or just using lavafield? What does frost do against deathglider? I never used that type of tactic, but I did play deathgliders before I could afford scythe fiends. When I was super poor, I remember using a combination of fire stalker and deathglider for my S counter. But that was even before I could afford burrowers, so firestalker made sense as an all-around siege, swift, L-counter, S-knockback unit. Deathgliders are great for noobstomping and surprise attacks, but I think there are other cards that should go in that deck slot.
  18. I can tutor basic to advanced. I'm especially willing to review replays and post commentary to my youtube channel. I mained fire-nature so I can teach that deck at a much higher level than others, but I can teach fundamentals with any deck. It's hard to say when I'm online, but I live in the US, so that might give people an idea of when I'll be awake.

  20. That was from Circadia's guide, I believe. @Dallarian If you want to see the rest of that guide, you can check out http://www.mediafire.com/download/mj4oxmdxqz1/BF-PvP+Guide.pdf There are 2 or 3 other guides that also explain void power. You might want to check out http://forum.bfreborn.com/index.php?/topic/898-guide-navigation-new-players-come-here-for-all-your-needs/ to see if there are any other mechanics of battleforge you didn't know about.
  21. Avatar of Frost is pretty bad in PvP... I mean, you really only need silverwind, tremor, timeless one, and shield building for an OP frost t3. But if you do want more, I wouldn't take avatar of frost. There are too many counters for him. The fact that he only has 500 HP under his shield means he can kill himself against a lifeweaving. (or you can kill the avatar by hurting your own unit with lifeweaving). Disintegration kills him really easily, GS do good burst damage against him... Core Dredge isn't bad, it just isn't needed.
  22. Gonna give you a rep on this post because I can't do the original one twice Would you post your thoughts on maps in my thread about map matchups? Even just for t1, if you don't want to do t2 as well.
  23. I mostly mentioned it to be complete. The cards that only damage units aren't very useful in t3 PvE (especially ones with a low AoE). Against large armies, when you're t3, it's often better just to cc them and use that extra power to kill something important. T3 is usually so fast paced that cc'd units are as useful as dead units. Cards like Thunderstorm do have their uses as cleanup, but for a faction like fire, you can be aggressive enough that cleanup isn't very important. Backlash is not even good for cleanup though. I'm still not saying Backlash is useless. Every now and then I used it in in my 2v2 deck to help finish out late games and have something to counter t3 air units, but I usually found that I had better cards to use in that slot.
  24. Yeah, not so useful for frost-shadow, but it's not bad. Just not really worth the deck slot for that deck. It pairs well with homesoil and ice barrier. It's also an air unit, and some decks just don't have good t3 AA. (most don't, actually). It's also extra long ranged, which adds another use to it. The idea is to make this card slower, but uncounterable. Every once in a while I see a high(ish) ranked player use it--he gets wins because it's "anti-meta." It's also a staple of the church lamer deck. Sometimes I also see it in 2v2, where cc and buffs make it really difficult to deal with. Usually a Lost Vigil in 2v2 forces the other team to launch an offensive that's stronger than the lost vigil.
