Will you be implementing a token authentication for auctions, perhaps for a future mobile app on which to follow and do trades efficiently an on the go?

    Never, unfortunately.

Explained somewhere that it opens up too much boting possibilities.

hmm... so many possibilities ;). I think i'll play around a bit with it.

Do you have a list of all current cardids/names and maybe images of all cards?
My backup of bf programming stuff from 10 years ago is not as good as I hoped ;).

Yea, have a list but without images.

Playing around with the API and QlikView and it works pretty nice.

But I was wondering if a “User Based” API is possible or planned?
So you can request Statistics from a User:
    - Get which maps have been played
    - Current card collection
    - Etc.

Of cures not for all users. Just for yourself with maybe an API Key form the Forum Page.

Would be nice to make a Completionist – Dashboard.
-> You are missing this card, this map and this Upgrades + this Charge upgrades.

Also would be fun to connect your current collection with the current (or historical) AH price to see how much it is worth.

Glad you like it. All suggestions are welcome here: https://github.com/fiki574/Skylords-Reborn-API-UI/issues

Is there anyway to get data when an item is actually bought/sold on the AH? Or are we limited to just the listings (the information we would normally be able to obtain via the game client)?

    Just the live listings.

Is there a way to tell what the affinity of a card is? There are for axample two card ID for gladiatrix, but there is no stats mentioning the affinity.

There isn't a way to get it directly, but you can query the card details endpoint to see what can be used.

    Steps:

    1. Fetch the auctions: https://github.com/fiki574/Skylords-Reborn-API-UI/tree/master/Auctions#post-apiauctionspagenumber

    2. Use the cardId fields from the response array

    3. Fetch card details: https://github.com/fiki574/Skylords-Reborn-API-UI/tree/master/Auctions#get-apicardscardid

    Excellent job on this!

Would it be feasible to have an endpoint that outputs a csv or something similar of the current auctions? Purpose being that I would like to be able to import data into a spreadsheet for my own searching/filtering but need the auction information in a digestable format.

All suggestions are welcome here: https://github.com/fiki574/Skylords-Reborn-API-UI/issues

The backend returns JSON as a response, which is definetly a digestable and convertable format. Not sure about the default spreadsheet support for it, but you could always temporarily use some kind of an online converter, like so: https://www.convertcsv.com/json-to-csv.htm

In my log I noticed, that the total number of auctions in the API hasn't changed since 6 pm CET when the number first reached 5000 auctions, even though there are clear price fluctuations visible for most cards since then.

So I wanted to ask if the number of auctions that the api responds with is capped at 5000, or if this is just some extreme coincidence? Thanks. :)

    Unintentional cap, removed it.

  5. Hello everyone.

I'll keep it short. Past few months, I've been working on our web API that is completely public and available for everyone to use. I've also created simple, functional (but stylistically not very pretty) user interfaces that visualize and consume the said API.

User interface applications are open-sourced on my GitHub. The repository also contains complete instructions on how to consume the API yourselves, if you were to decide to create your own frontend applications. But, you have to be somewhat profficient in web development to understand and begin doing stuff on your own.

Issues tab is to be used freely for any and all suggestions and bug reports.

Pull Requests that improve and extend the existing UIs are more than welcome. After manual review, they might get merged into the master branch and appear as a part of the next website update.

    Links:

All applications are caching data periodically, so you're actually "querying" the in-memory data, and not the database directly, which does not have any kind of impact on the game servers and database itself. Have in mind these applications are also the first version, they will definetly get improved and extended, as well as the API.

For some of you, these applications and the API open up whole lot of possibilities.

For example, now you could create an application that tracks the average price of every card and makes a nice graph. You could even extend the search options with card orbs, expansion, rarity, etc.

Or you could create an application that tracks all auctions for a specific card and sends you a mail or push notification when a card appears on the auction house, but is equal or below the specified price.

Average concurrent players/matches graph could be visualized by querying the Statistics API every 2/5/X minutes.

Those of you who understood everything said and know what you're doing, will use this to its maximum potential.

    Have fun! :)

Could you salvage some pieces of your work in those shut-down-projects, or could they even be revived with different creative content like artwork, voice-acting and story? or was everything but the experience simply gone?

Everything but experience is unfortunately gone. Those projects dated back to pre-2015.

Most of my public contributions and repositories can be found on my Github.

There is no contract. It's just a verbal "go ahead" with some boundaries. They can retract that for any reason at any time.

It doesn't even have to do anything with EA specifically, this wouldn't be the first fan project about some IP that got verbal permission first but then ends up getting Cease and Desist-ed anyway.

Fan projects that you're referring to most likely broke a part of the verbal agreement.

Fan projects I've been involved in, that got shut down, in 100% of the cases, had wrongdoing on their own end (this is my 4th fan project, previous 3 were DMCA'd).

It always boiled down to one thing: trying to monetize a part of the game, and not be particularly careful or clever about it.

However, this does not mean that a similar fate awaits us, or that we should live in the fear of being shut down. So far, the EA has been nice for the past 5 years, hopefully it continues because we've been pretty strict about behaving according to our verbal agreement with them. Any speculations or discussions about our takedown possibilities are pure, non-fact based guessings and just bring negative attention to the thread, and then consequently the project itself.

    Only time will tell.

    Long live the King.

    Hi.

Are you going to release players from ban and give them opportunity to start again after final reset? Does not matter what he/she did. Lets say multi-accounting for a reason.

But its very unfair if you don't. It's not a tragedy. Plus you have corona virus and so many F.... lockdowns and dead people... Only thing that makes me happy is Joe winning the US election.

I think, to be fair, you should give people chance, all of them. I also created some accounts but could not play, i do not remember passwords etc.

If there was old times, like professional stuff was managing this game/forum they would have given chance to everyone. But now, old forumers want to create very strict rules and they try to be professional Moderators and Admins.

Its hard to get ranked PVP matches why you want people to leave the game.

IMHO  you take things very seriously and maybe too personal. I have a feeling, that you treat things like real crime, suing them and punishing.

I don't know your personal life, but maybe you have some issues, who knows what's going on. You do not show kindness. I think most of your stuff is living in his own reality, life sucks etc.

This is the best you've come up with? Ask us for forgiveness, and proceed to be utmost rude and insulting?

Wow, so thousands of players will join after the reset, that you are sure of? How will the servers cope with that?

    // Ponni

I'm sure for at least a couple hundred. Few thousand is a best case scenario.

We hope all will go well and are prepared if it doesn't, but only time will tell, it's hard to give a prediction on that since the most concurrent players were around 200ish number.

I am a bit disapointed with your reasons. Let me explain: As i heard of Battleforge Reborn i was excited.
Because i thought if this is a huge success in playernumbers EA or another company
would take a second look and make a battleforge 2.

What you are basicly saying is that the only reason for a reset is that you announced it years before.
    There are no technical reasons.

    Please remind yourself:
By starting a wipe you are reducing the playerbase even more. There will be less player playing. Why ?

On the programming level this project is a huge success, but it fails on the player count.
To get many players playing doesn't seem to be a goal for the Battleforge Reborn Project.

I am more and more afraid that this project will be a grave stone for this genre.
Because any CEO who decides to make a new game and takes a look and have this question in his head:
If Battleforge for free can't be success, how can a battleforge 2 for money be one ?

And thats just sad. But thx for your effort.

Lots of claims, none of facts.

There are technical reasons for the reset, which have been discussed internally and externally since the start of the OST 2 years ago. Don't jump to conclussions about something you have no clue about.

Can you supply your statement that the reset will result in even less players? Cause I'm aware of few 100k+ YouTubers that are just waiting for the release to happen to start playing. Now imagine how much players they could bring. I'm also aware of certain Polish and Russian communities, each with few thousand members out of which maybe a few hundred plays while rest waits for release.

To get many players playing doesn't seem to be a goal for our project? Lol what? Bold statement, won't even try to give a proper response.

Grave store for this genre? Lmfao, yea, we did that, not EA and other Triple-A greedy companies. A simple community revival was the nail in the coffin.

Lots of nonesense in your post, but hey - this is the Internet, right?

Thank you, this is indeed fabulous news.

Question I'm sure you have thought of, with only 108 views on this update stream, will there be enough players to keep the game alive?

How can you blast this out there so it will get attention and new people will join?

I currently have 32K followers on LinkedIn, but most aren't gamers though I'm happy to lend a shout-out if you feel it would help.

Hey. Online concurrent viewers were around 300 on Twitch, idk where it shows 108.

Most of the people are in the shadows waiting, so they should come (in a small part) by themselves. We have some "marketing/ad strategies" in mind, nothing concrete yet.

  12. Not sure that there are more than those PSD images.

Also would depend on what you would want to do with them, since they are still official artwork and we (staff and community) shouldn't be messing with them a lot.

Nanorhino does our own artwork from scratch, does not reuse existing images.

  13. Nothing changed for months now, except on the test server which is not the live/production you're playing on.

Check if launcher executable is even running, if it's not then it means it got blocked by AV or similar security mechanism.

  14. 9 hours ago, Flrbb said:

    there is a test server?

...so basically the comunity is split in half due to two different servers?

What? Average players on the test server is 0.0000000000000001 per day. No one is testing there, let alone playing.

  15. What I can tell from checking out the database is that you either sent by mail or traded the "missing" cards with a player named Crazy_xD. That includes some of the cards you've mentioned.

Now this looks like 3 possibilities:

    a) you gave someone your login details and then they transfered stuff to your account
    b) that other account is also yours, thus you are multiaccounting
    c) you gave away your cards long ago and tried blaming it on the bug that caused you to lose those cards to somehow get them back

Unfortunately, I do not see a 4th possibility which would include a bug erasing your inventory only partially so. This is the first time anyone ever reported a bug like this to happen, only some of the cards are "missing".
