You can disagree without getting vulgar and disrespectful. He called devs statements ,,bullshit excuses'' and tells them what to do. How is that not inflammatory? If somebody gets a red rep from me it's not because of him disagreeing with me or somebody else, it's because he lacks manners or respect.

Frankly, the fact that this decision was delayed is the most disappointing thing here. F**k the hype train: don't make promises you can't keep; it's really that simple. We're all perfectly willing to wait and have been for many years. But because it has been such a long time, any promises you make aren't going to build into hype, they're going to be instant hype bombs with just as severe disappointment if you can't deliver. Respect that we're going to be ecstatic about release entirely regardless of when that happens as long as you deliver. And if you don't think the few of us who've been chatting and lurking here for years aren't going to tell literally everyone we know that BattleForge is back, you're sorely mistaken. So forget about us. Forget about hype. Forget about community management or transparency and all your bullshit excuses. Just deliver.

    THE DELAYING METHOD :
Hello There , my name is Eviatar , former player of battleforge by EA , was one of my favorite games EVER.
Now I would like to ask you a question friend ,
this Method of you guys , is that look normal to you pal ?
Have you ever seen a game , promised to release a month after a month and constently and repeatedly fails its fans down?
I can tell you i have never encountered anything like that anywhere else , I rarly knew few games that delayed their release dates ONCE , not more .
Dont get me wrong pal , its not the programming part that i judge you guys about , no no , I had experience with programming before , I know how difficult and hard it can be , in that part you have my tottal understanding ,
so please dont take me for a fool .
the part i judge you guys about is the dates , as i sayd ive never seen anything like this , this is just a torture for some people , delaying again and again and again each time posting another heartbreaking post about the problems of the servers and how much you guys want to make this succeed , i think the people know you want to make it succeed , so do they .
Please , stop making false dates , i think it pisses so many people off (me included) , its really not providing anything.
In my opinion a true date , even a one people may not like , would be batter , even if you talled me now : "something exploded in the game , alot of unexpected problems , the game will release in 3 years" ,
I would still appreciate it more then each month having people waiting in patience and failing them each time.
I want to remind you man that i still appreciate your work guys and i believe you do your best ,as i always did , i just wanted to express my opinion here.
Thank you for your time , have a good day.
this is a latter i wrote to MrXLink , he read it and did not responded.

I've seen primes lose to legends and worse playing pure nature in ranked...

You know the same thing happens all the time when you go inactive and then come back with a bronze- or silverrank? If you get rid of smurfing matchmaking doesn't become transparent and fair all of a sudden.

I strongly disagree, i think the other mentioned motives like anonymity, ranked anxiety, ELO loss prevention with new decks or fun decks played a far bigger roll. I won't deny players used to do the things you describe but your painting a far too dark picture.
I want to repeat a point wich too many new players don't consider: The ELO and matchmaking system produces faaar more unfair matchups than all smurfs combined.
An example where the activity system leads to such: An experienced player with emperor rank (blue shield, no dots) only has time to play on the weekend. Over the week his inactivity makes him lose quite a few ranks. When he starts playing on friday he's going to run through a bunch of gold and lower blue ranked players first, every week until he got back his full activity bonus. This activity system is totaly overcompensating imo, a player that doesn't play 3 weeks isn't going to go drop from blue ranked to bronze level skillwise but the inactivity penalty drops him to those ranks.
The other problematic system is the matchmaking itself, wich has already been discussed a lot in other threads...if the PvP population isn't going to explode suddenly and you're from america chances are you're never going to have matches wich are completly fair.
If the aim is completly fair matchmaking, eliminating smurfing is one step, but it's a really small one, the big bloodhorn in the room is the matchmaking/activity system.

While I was mindlessly watching some YT videos, I came upon something interesting. I happen to like to watch funny talent show entries, and found a funny comedian called "Piff the Dragon". In America's Got Talent 2015 he came quite far, so I decided to watch some of his performances. But this is where it gets funny: on what I believe to be his third performance I was suddenly hit in the feels, and I didn't know why. But then I heard the epic music, what I recognized as a BattleForge soundtrack. So after a bit of searching I found out that "Piff the Dragon" used Battleforge OST - Northern Steel.
    Don't believe me? Just watch:
    Northern Steel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XslaXmoaIU&t=46s
Piff the Dragon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uFBVwnxRlM (1 min 40 sec)

    TL;DR
A comedian used a Battleforge soundtrack in one of his shows, what i found to be amusing/nostalgic.

childrens childrens just be pationt i even once waited over 2 years for a game after official 1. relesasdate and it was worth the wait. in that time they made the game more stable with little to no bugs and in the end it only released 2 patches in total. for me thats a way better solution than lunching a game that isnt realy rdy and then add patch after patch and even after over 250+ patch the game isnt stable at all (look ARK).
a game that runs smooth without many delays or laags is just a so much better expirience and make way more fun to play than one where u have to wait 5 sec every move.
siply said: the more time u wait now the less time u wait during gameplay. i dont know what u guy like but if i watch a movie i will that it runn smooth from start to end without waiting inbeween to load a bit more.
and to all the negative posters in here u may now blow some steam but in the end when the game is out even u will play it and may never ever again writhe a single post. so instead of trashtalk writh it on a piece of paper and throw it in the trash, that will help the dev team way more and saving time that they can use to programm and not have to explain it to u cause they are so kind.

I would feel comfortable playing it if it wasn't that strong, i think it needs a slight nerf before it's fair. If i was all about winning i wouldn't play the decks i play anyway. I understand i'm rather alone with that attitude but i don't want to win a game against a better player who micros his butt off with nature T1 while i just spam a tower. Of course i have a slight disadvantage against nature then but it's more fun and how many nature players are there anyway? I would consider putting it in my deck if BF starts and a lot of players start shadow with phasetower because as you know it's very strong in a mirror, too.

Hype is real, I cannot wait to roll out with my War eagles again.
I played BF most intently around the holidays, and almost exclusively listened to christmas music while playing. This means that every christmas song reminds me of BF, and every christmas I get that itch again to play. Finally I can scratch it at the end of January!

Don't have any problems with you, but maybe it helps you if i tell you what i recognized. First thing is what LagOps said, i have the feeling that sometimes you take an opinion as a thesis wich you have to give a counter argument to. Now, of course sometimes there are facts wich we can't deny and then someone may be right or wrong. But in a thread like yours where it's about nostalgia and design there are a lot of opinions wich can't be negated by logic. For example i remember someone wrote something along the lines of ,,nostalgia plays an important role for me'' and then you answered with something similar to ,,yeah humans are afraid of change...'' It can come along as condescending if you dismiss other peoples feelings because you have another view on a topic. Just accept them with their different views and opinions and people will like you more. If someone writes something extremely wrong and stupid you can still destroy him with logic and be respected, but too often there's no clear line between right and wrong.
Second thing, probably not as important to many people, that winky wink comes of as soooo annoying and smug to me when i'm in an argument with someone. It's almost like the smiley is saying: ,,Hey, don't be mad. How could you have known that...being the idiot that you are...i knew all along '' i know it's not ment that way and maybe it's just me but that winky smiley is the embodiment of passive aggressivenes!
  19. SunWu liked a post in a topic by LagOps in Problems with the lovely "Tobbezockt" :)
@YT Tobbezockt Xlink's feedback he has given you in that thread has summed things up pretty well:

Overall just try to calmly accept criticism instead of starting arguments. Getting feedback is not about you being right, but about getting a second opinion and possibly inspiration. There is no need to defend your position. Wether or not to follow that criticism is your choice in the end and it's perfectly ok to do things your way if you feel that the criticism was unfounded or a poorly informed opinion etc.. I would suggest to respond to criticism only in case you are unclear about what exactly is being criticised, need further information or many forum users have the same/simillar criticism to offer. Please refrain from acting passive-agressive, making fun of others or any such things as this will only lead to arguments and not a constructive discussion.
    I hope this helps
