  1. Shaman is not bad, but it's not necessary. It's one of best cards in the game. Feel free to keep it.

You have strong T1, T3 and T4, and acceptable T2. The deck looks really solid to me, and should easily take you through campaign on Advanced and large part of it on Expert. Here my knowledge on Nature / Shadow deck ends.

You could use Breeding grounds, though. It's a great card, in case you decide you don't need one of cards.

  2. Cannot receive mails from others?

That sounds a bit weird to me. Are mails "in a void" waiting for player to  be active again to receive notifications, or it's impossible to send ones?

What if I want to type a mail to a friend, do I get error notification "player busy, write mail later"? How does it relate to auction house?

Also you fixed mission objectives, awesome!

  3. With Windweavers and Ensnaring Roots, you already have powerful T1. Shaman greatly helps at that, however, I believe you can get rid of Spearmen.

Consider getting rid of one T2 unit - you do not need 4 squads here.
On T3 you could consider having either Church of Negation, or Necroblaster. Both are awesome, but they fill the same role.
Add on T4 Giant Wyrm - it's a great card, and consider adding Unholy Power.

With free deck slots, you could add some powerful spells, however they tend to be expensive, so I am not going to give names.

When I play Campaign maps, I use 1 tower to cover T1-T2, and sometimes add one more tower to cover T3-T4. You usually do not need towers for each tier.

  4. @DireDRAGON Yes, I even dropped something cool and Lost Spirit Ship from Tournament booster.

Consider asking on Technical Support on Official Discord for better visibility - GMs can track such data and confirm whether you received or not a booster.

  5. We already can influence our displayed chat by "/leave" "/join", "roll",  commands and it's really nice. We can also change size of chat window.

    • I wish there was "/clear" command in game, that would clear particular chat window from all messages, for example for purpose of recording a video or making a nice screenshot. I would be able to temporarly leave all, or some chats and then clear my windows - closing chat is currently not possible, and I do not want to change game files every time I want to make screenshot and then reset the game.

you need to play pve to learn how to read cards ,what each card does and then start pvp ,nobody without knowing just the basics will start pvp the first day in battelforge stop using this excuse is a joke.all new player have to go throw pve first.

as said for me personal free pvp was good but not for the game.

    taking the words of dallarian:

Losing because of weak deck does not encourage players to play the gamemode. Waiting time is largest problem regarding PvP mode, therefore necessary actions were taken to make the mode playable . Also, time limitations would badly influence Tournaments and similar events.

this is correct but the necessary actions should not be permanent ,yes i agree with this suggestion ,10 weeks are more than enough ,because we are talking about good pvp players which dont want to spend time and not new players to the game.

I made some effort of advertising Battleforge on Starcraft forums, during time when Starcraft servers were experiencing large issues. To provide you with enough information, Starcraft is most competitive RTS game, and is what actually created solid Esport across the world. The reason behind Starcraft success, were unique, different to play, balanced factions.

If I had to explain any of players "but there's a catch, after 10 weeks of playing, you can no longer build Ultralisks/Thors/Colosuss, and if you want to have more than one of those, you must sell zerglings on in-game marketplace and try to get good deal on useful units", they would probably laugh at it and move on. Such players play 1-3 PvE maps and go play unranked to find everything out, so I am confident at calling them new. Yes, such players play PvP on first day.

Please notice, that PvE and PvP in Battleforge are two different experiences.

What type of player am I? : PvE
Do I play PvP?: Sometimes, yes. I even defeated RadicalX once.
Do I contribute to PvP activity? : Yes.
Would I continue playing PvP, if after 10 weeks I lost access to some cards? : No, thanks. I am not planning on buying more charges for expensive PvE cards, just to stay competitive on T1, without even mentioning T2 and T3. I'd rather spend them on other decks.

Does my decision matter? : It's for you to determine. However, please keep in mind, there are more players like me, and within two weeks after release we had ~40-60k total players, we got only ~370 players who played ranked PvP. If you are going to cut access to PvP free decks, expect drop of popularity, from both mixed Players, and those who play only a few hours on weekends. PvP community is already minority, and we should aim at making it more popular, not at increasing entry level.

  7. As LEBOVIN said.

Best farming way except for speedrunning, which is Passage to Darkness Expert, grants you usually 7000 gold for 20 minutes of playing, however players usually choose to get 4000 gold per 20 minutes in rPvE. Ultrarare Upgrades Level 3 cost 15 000 each, and adding them to card costs another 6000. Therefore you can get some upgrades faster by farming particular ultrarare upgrades. When it comes to rare upgrades, those are usually nice addition if you play a map and get them by accident. However, one could consider to play one map with many useful upgrades a few times to get rare upgrades.

  8. There are two important aspects for PvP:

    • Deck upgrade and cards available make a difference between victory and lose, giving weaker player chance to win against superior one by cards only. The amount of time you spend grinding PvE gives you advantage in PvP.
    • PvP community is small.

Losing because of weak deck does not encourage players to play the gamemode. Waiting time is largest problem regarding PvP mode, therefore necessary actions were taken to make the mode playable . Also, time limitations would badly influence Tournaments and similar events.

It has influence over marketplace, however, the cons are significantly smaller than pros.

I cannot understand thought process behind PvP and multiaccounting, though.

I don't know, maybe most people working in catering? Lodging? IT? You can insert almost any profession here and it still will be true. The only narrow minded person here is you, believing we are living in the middle ages where german people only speak german and nothing else. I could pack my stuff, get to Austria tomorrow and I'll be greeted by English speaking personnel in the first, second and third hostel I decide to stay in.

    cough cough chinese

@Mighty_Rathalos, we, or atleast people with believes similar to mine, don't have problems with people speaking German. There are people using French, Russian, Polish, Hungarian and more across in-game chat. We have no problem with that, one message from time to time is fine.

Demirion probably misrepresented a few concepts. While English is official internation languange, and languange of science, it's not important aspect of discussion.

The thing is, English is international European languange, and the project gathered 60 000 people capable of speaking it. After a very nice effect, which is increase in popularity and activity of the project, we got very active 21 000 people, who take ~60% of server's activity (roughly, it's difficult to say whether more people found time to play after Christmas period from those who registered, or it's pure increase by new players). In a situation where there is large amount of German players, conversations in German appear to be pretty long - and while some people understand it, in the same time it breaks English languange discussion, and frustration arises - as shown in "Growing community. Growing diversity. Growing language barrier. Growing Concern." thread.

I could carry on a few hours long discussions on global chat in Russian or Polish, but I would not find it proper - therefore when I speak using those languanges, I use private chats. Chats are a common good of all players, and with two large majorities (international and German players) there is conflict of interests. As you have nicely spotted:

"a) whispers work only between two players

    b) often people still write in chat, be it to look for groups or ask/respond to questions while they wait for a map to fill up. you expect me disband my group to have a discussion?

and "spamming" is not the case if there is a discussion happening, otherwise everyone else would be spamming the chat in english."

Therefore idea behind German languange in-game chat is to allow German players carry discussions, while not interfering with English (international) part of the community. While large majority can be Germans in the project, please keep in mind that only a few Devs have such background, and neither them nor other players want to be put on side.

Please do not assess it in terms of feeling better, or anything like that. We just want to peacefully coexistent. However, you may come across frustrated people who are overwhelmed with anger. I cannot influence that, but I am sure no steps in direction of discrimination of German players will be taken.

@Demiron I understand your feelings, however going off-topic drags us away from why we gathered here. Please do not go further into this direction.

PS. I will probably regret writing this thing tommorow. Sorry everyone. However, I believe my intention was pure. Misunderstanding can easily lead to conflicts, therefore I wanted to describe thought process in a more detailed way, to relief all concers. I believe I understand needs of German players, but I may be wrong at that.  Also I probably wrote some trash.

As pointed out in the other thread by @Dallarian, a /deutsch chat (if possible) would help alleviate this problem by having a place where Germans can, without judgement, speak German to each other. Anyone who doesn't want to speak it can simply /leave the chat like I do with trade. To make this even better it would be great if there was a command to permanently leave a chat group. Right now I have to /leave trade every time log-in and it would be the same for a /deutsch chat.

For context. the old Battleforge had an entirely German server there were so many Germans, so a single chat seems acceptable without threatening to fracture the community.

"I don't use the trade chat. In fact I disabled it in the config files." - I do not know how to do that, but it's a possibility.

I wish /deutsch was a thing, however it's not trivial to implement, and Devs are working on stability of server first, so I am afraid every action will be postponed in that matter.

  12. I see a Lady of Culture, it's a pleasure.

In PvP there is no fog of war, economical aspect is absolutely easy at entry level, just keep in mind that power well takes 3:20 (minutes) to pay off. At high level, it's a bit more complex, but the idea remains the same.

The game is a lot of about game knowledge, particularly in PvP, so you must learn counters and similar. Micro is significantly slower, and therefore less beneficial, but still engaging.
Overall, amount of knowledge is not huge within one faction, and other mechanics usually solve themselfs. Therefore the game is significantly easier on low and average level than Starcraft 2. To be honest I haven't played most of maps on Expert ever before full release, and I turned out to make accidently a briefing on them, so as you see, it's not that difficult.

It's all relative to available time and used sources of information, though. There is little knowledge gathered on forum, very few online videos, therefore more experienced players are best source of information. Feel free to ask! If you master only one faction, you may need to self-learn a bit, however you do not have to cover the whole game.

Make sure to play Pure Shadow :shadoworb::shadoworb::shadoworb::shadoworb: , use "Motivate" on those human bugs Forsaken, and then use their corpses to raise undead and power your demons. Every time you play Overlord, you praise Supreme Ones. I believe this playstyle should be fitting.

However, do not step between me and Battleships. It's a warning.

  13. Time for update.

With Mo, I have covered 20/26 maps, what is 77% of maps and ~45% of work.

I allowed myself to put everything to Word, and came up with a few interesting facts:

    • 59 pages A4 (not edited to have nicer form/larger gaps).
    • Microsoft Word is awful word text editor - I considered publishing the thread as pdf as well, however there are some annoying problems. If you would be interested in such form, let me know.

I was surprised by 59 pages part. It turned out to be a small book, and with spoiler sections it looks really short. And it's still nothing compared to how much work Skylords Reborn team have put into this project. Thank you very much Devs!

I came across a few errors, also some ideas in terms of description format have evolved over time and I am aware of poor quality of some descriptions, so I may be working from time to time to polish them. Right now only 4 player maps are left and it's difficult and even more time consuming to cover them, as you can see on example of Blight, so do not expect anything coming anytime soon except for King of the Giants and Bad Harvest.

Also I got an idea to merge together all posts at some point using some evil tricks I discovered, but if it was going to happen, it'd be after I cover all the maps.

Another poll is open for next week, I'd appreciate some more feedback.

  14. Lost Soul deck give you access to Shadow deck, and therefore to great void power recycle.

While Spells feel underwhelming, @Treim managed to create a cool deck for rPvE, where he used Revenants only, kept them alive for ~4 minutes and used spells like Ethernal Storm to wreak havoc upon enemies.

I wish this playstyle got buffed/reworked, though, to make it more pleasant to play.

Also, since you need to press a button to activate it, it's not passive but active ^^

  15. Get rid of Stone Shell, Earth Keeper, your T2 is already nice.

Consider Razorshard instead. Also spells like Ensaring Roots. For sure you need more T4 units, like Giant Wyrm. End-game Stonekin unit is Grinder, but it is a bit expensive to get. Great Stonekin advantage is access to Coldsnap and Curse of Oink, they help greatly and it's worth to have both in your deck.

rPvE deck doesn't need towers, and some campaign maps too, so you could get more spells and units instead.

Also what Volin sent is not an actual guide, it's just introduction of maps, and as mentioned earlier, you must polish your deck for particular Expert, and sometimes non-expert maps.

  16. Very useful thread, and appeared way faster than mine description of the same map.
The thread contains a lot of knowledge I do not mention in my description and is an actual guide, which is a great advantage over my content.

However, if you are looking for a more complete list of effects that work or do not work on Viridya, consider checking my thread.
