    Just finished Encouter with Twilight on expert with the deck in my first try. I took my time (38 minutes), so not the most fun replay to watch. Made several mistakes so I am sure it can be done a lot faster.

  4. New website features

    As was hinted in the progress thread "Daily Reward (Web)", there will most likely be a link between the game server database and the website. Except for just the daily rewards, a link from the game database to the website (and forum) offers many new opportunities which wont need any client modification. So with this thread I want to encourage everybody to generate and discuss ideas of cool new features that will be possible with this connection. Please keep it realistic but lets not worry too much about the technical stuff (e.g. server load/security issues) as the Devs will do that for us. Of course these new features are not needed to be implemented with the initial release of Battleforge Reborn, but they could get added later once the game is up and running. I will keep a list of all suggestions posted in this thread here: 1. Make the ranking lists visible through the website, existing rankings like the PvP and Speedrun rankings, as well as new rankings like for example collected gold rankings, PvE victory counts on expert or all-time speedrun rankings (fastest times which will reset for a map whenever a significant nerf has been made), PvP alltime ranking of highest ELO and speedrun ranking of custom maps. 2. Show game statistics on the website, for example the total earned BFP/gold, total BFP/gold currently in circulation as well as real-time data like Total player online, total players ingame, people currently match-making, people currently playing ranked-pvp, how many direct trades/auction house sells were made or average/median completion time of each map difficulty (seperated speedrun/non-speedrun) and log of PvP battle results inclusing the statistics of the decks that were used. 3. Show/search Auction house prices on the websites (and maybe add some historical/statistical data like average card buy-out prices or how many times each card was sold), would be cool so people could copy data and paste in into excel sheets for example. 4. Add a detailed rating system for custom maps on the website. 5. On the forum, add quick links to cards like with names of people is already implemented (all-cards or another database). 6. On the forum, add an option to preview your post before submitting it. 7. Connect the in-game chat with the website chat so people can chat with the people ingame through the website (with something to prevent spam (bots)). 8. Add a tournament organisation feature so people can easily organise tournaments (with automatic registration of matches and prize distribution). 9. Add a section for replays, so you can easily browse, search and rate them (similar to bfcards.info). For the following suggestions, a link between each players in-game account and their website/forum account is needed (I made a seperate category for these suggestions as I am not sure if this will be possible): P1. Show ingame profile information at your forum profile page. For example, win/loss ratios, gold/bfp collected, experience pvp/pve, time spend in game, time spend connected to the server and also show in-game rank titles + symbol at your forum posts. P2. Showing your deck through the website/forum has been mentioned in a different thread, maybe just an option to show your favorite deck on your profile page of the forum to keep this simple. P3. Viewing all the cards you collected on the website (maybe with some integration with the all-cards website from Dawn). P4. An even bigger expansion of 3 would be to make the auction house functions available through the website, so you can also buy cards through the website. Selling cards would only be possible in combination with P3. The same could be done with direct trade. P5. See the log of your BFP transactions (described in detail in a post below). P6. View your daily quests/achievements on the website so you can monitor your current and past quests/achievements. P7. Add a guild system (with guild chat). P8. Add a share replay function (connected to the replay section of point 9). P9. Add a settings page for in-game preferences like automatic collecting of in-game mail attachments. P10. Manage your ingame mail through the website. P11. Add a section where you can input specifc interests like rPvE lvl10, bad harvest speedrun, ptd advanced etc., and you get notified once someone comes online with the same interest. Please let me know what you think of these ideas and let me know if you have good suggestions yourself which I should add to this list.

    Only if the tutor selects the apprentice as his friend too. But yes, this rewarding system would work for non-tutoring friends too. Therefore it should be only a small extra reward.

    Just throwing an idea in here without thinking of all details: How about if everyone can select one friend (or tutor) on the website and for each game they play together (only) the selected friend gets an extra reward (an amount of bfp based on the length of the match). -The reward is BFP because it is the tradeable currency and it is already abusable by multiaccounting. -The reward amount shouldnt be too high so it doesnt give an unfair advantage to players with many friends/apprentices, but just a little extra to make it worth their time. -It is possible to select a different friend once a week (replaces the old friend). -One player could be selected by several apprentices/friends and thus gain rewards for playing with each of them. And maybe tutors could also get a special forum badge + a rank for each apprentice or something.
  7. I agree that this is a good idea to be able to handle low amount of active players with matchmaking. Although I wouldnt start any matches during the timer or change the length of an active timer. I would prefer to vary the length of each timer (at the start of the timer) based on the amount of people online on the server. So when there are very many players online, the length of the timer will be a lot shorter than when there are only a couple players online. (With counting the number of online players, the server could exclude players who play PvE over 80% of their games and players who are afk for over 30min.) And if there are an uneven number of players in the queue when the timer ends, I would exclude the last person who entered the queue.

In the old Battleforge I was a PvE (speedrun) player, I only did a bit 2vs2 (with smookes) and some sparring grounds for fun. However, in Skylords Reborn I want to do more PvP. I already did some sparring during the beta and @LagOps gave me some good tips. But I feel like I still have a lot to learn. Eirias made a cast of us sparring together and I would love feedback about my PvP play. In Skylords Reborn I want to focus on Shadow-Nature as my main deck.

    Thank you all for your feedback, this is really helpfull. I am not really planning to play a lot Stonekin, but I want to focus on shadow-nature. I agree that I have much to learn about the strong and weak points of each faction and how to exploit them using shadow-nature (including using CC's). I will try to make an overview for myself using @RadicalX and @Hirooo's guide. The same goes for knowing the maps, but I guess that is also a bit depended on which faction your enemy is using. Also looking forward to your guide @tbpeti. Another thing that I will try, is to get a more aggresive playstyle, something @RadicalX told me in pm. I think an aggresive playstyle will suit me well with this faction. And @tbpeti is also very right about me not using abilties, I noticed for example that I hardly use frenzy on forsaken/NC. I will try to improve this too by frenzying one unit at a time during fights. I think better power-management and not using dazed units will probably improve automatically with more experience (and analyse more of my own replays), but I will keep focussing on it.

    I was looking in my old Battleforge dir and I found this tool to analyse replays. I dont know who made it though. http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=46711419385746523007 I tested it and it still seems to work, you need Java for it though. You can use it to load replays and see some details about it. You can even 'play' the replay and it will display the power amount of all players over time and the type of cards that were used at what time.
