Well Launcher is a separate download anyway, there's the client that you can't download now, and our launcher, that you'll be able to download later.

This has been a hard decision for the staff but our reasoning for deciding and agreeing on a delay is that we have come across a lot of network backend problems regarding both our launcher and the servers which have taken fiki several days longer to detect and fix than was originally planned. Even Bolrader and Boorinio had to assist in some of his fixes. Needless to say, bugs are occurring more and more and the backend has only just been fixed so now the developers can focus on fixing bugs. This does mean that the programmers didn't start on bugfixing yet due to said backend problems.

More importantly, in the last week of January, fiki has his final college exams which are of course at a higher priority than Open Beta. This means that he will be prevented from working on the server at all in the upcoming week. Therefore, we won't be able to make it to the deadline of 30th January exactly. Another one of our developers, Boorinio is also in the same situation with his college finals, and Bolrader has real life work that also has a higher priority than the project and Open Beta at this moment. Please be reminded that Skylords Reborn is completely voluntary and serves as a side project for all of us as our efforts are unpaid.

Another major drawback this pressure causes is that in the past week almost 100 updates were done to both our launcher and the servers. Due to this fiki hasn't been sleeping well as he became obsessed with fixing them and desperatly wanting to hit our deadline of 30th January, which unfortunately took its toll on him; he lost quite some weight, as an example. Fiki's well-being and health is our first priority and we do not want him to stress himself both physically and mentally like this again. We prefer to delay the start of Open Beta for another month and give our developers time to fix everything as stress free as possible, without deteriorating their health.

What does this mean for you, the players? We will have more time to work on the server, and so it will be more stable and contain less bugs and issues alike. The Daily Quest system will be in place. Our Anticheat will be a lot stronger and, if it works as good as we want it to, this could result in the removal of resetting accounts in Phase 2. It is even possible that with the delay there might not be a need for a Phase 2 anymore and we can turn to more of a Full Release after Open Beta. Another big thing we plan to do is called game server clustering; there will be one game server handling matches per ~40 people (not decided fully yet). This will result in fewer disconnects, lag issues and other problems caused by game server's overload. The other servers will still be singular, just the game servers will be in higher numbers (dozens) to ensure our players the best match experience possible.

It is alright for you to be mad or disappointed; we understand your concerns, but we ask you to look at the situation in a brighter daylight; we will provide better quality servers that do not constantly crash, burn and bug out, but rather provide a fully working environment and a more enjoyable experience. To top it off with this statement - If you'd forgive multimillion dollar companies delaying long expected game or new part of a favourite franchise, we hope you can forgive us for underestimating pressure and time constraints, over-hyping and in the end delaying the Open Beta."
 

So now, let's talk about what we're going to do after all you will have to wait a bit longer, and please forgive us for this delay.

We have decided on a few things:

• Everyone will receive 2 boosters once the game will be in open beta (you'll still get them even after a potential reset)
• From the 1st of February and until the Open beta, we'll invite some players everyday to the closed beta, to increase the amount of players, progressively (Giveaways will happen anytime during the day, morning, afternoon, evening ..)
• You'll be able from now to pre-download the client, and we finally after a lot of discussion decided to give the client here on the forum ourselves. Want to pre-download it ? You can use Mediafire or MEGA to download it! (You cannot start the game right now, you'll have to wait for open beta, and the release of our launcher to make it work.)

This isn't going to be your in-game name, but your account name, two different things, once you'll login you'll have to create a character and select a nickname.

It's not a "Nickname" changing, it's a "Username" changing, that involve credentials here, so it's in the administration panel, not the moderator one unfortunatly

As for the rewards... i am not quite sure about the "meet the staff" rewards for 25+ dollars/months. So far in alpha and beta, i could have some talk with the devs on discord every now and then about developement, the game, game design, future plans etc. without much of a hastle. Is this more casual attitude not going to continue past open beta?

I don't have the money for monthly donations, at least not for the 25+ dollars tiers, but would still like to have some talk/input on game design (simillar as to how it was in alpha/beta). What are my options in that case?

If there's big subjects of design, we'll talk at some point generally, but as a Patron, you can be involved deeply in the process.
The more players we'll have, the less talk we can have with everyone as well, we're not anymore the little project we were unfortunatly ^^ So we have to react accordingly

Also, we decided to chose Patreon for the monthly thing yes, you can participate for one month if you want to, and then next month, just remove it ^^ that's up to you !

I'd say Rock of Ages II, it's must playing with friends, such as fun and non-serious game
There's also Dungeon Defenders II that is really a must as well, otherwise for people that want some competition, Battlerite is fun to play in 2v2

[Console emulators (Wii U, PlayStation 3, DS, 3DS)]

So far CEMU is the best to follow I'd say... Showing a lot of progress in a less amount of time compared to others (due to the patreon, that's for sure, but still)

The PS3 emulator is here since so many times and it's still not in a playable state for 70% of games if note more, that's really a shame (it's like the XBOX360 one so far to me)
So yea, I'm following CEMU so far, rest is not worth right now for me. ^^

It's client-sided, so it was like that before.
