  1. Uh, did not really get all that you said Treim. But later more on that what I understood.

The first thing I have to realize for myself is that not only do I have no experience with the speedrun titles, but I also have a very limited and personal perspective on the game. I play mainly battlegrounds and only had those 3 ladders in mind - I had completely forgotten that there is that campain thingy :P

Also, only today, through Mephisto's last post, I understood that the numbers of Treim are normal XP. I had thought, because they are speedrun titles, that this is a completely separate point system. This would be another valid option for our new system btw. Especially with the option that you can choose your titles freely among the titles you have already received, it would be a possibility for the 4 speedrun titles to simply introduce their own point system. This would solve the problem that speedruns are very effective in some PvE maps to gain experience. Both together, the problems of "overlapping" titles would no longer be a problem.

The beauty of the normal pve ranks is that you can see from the rank which players have invested a lot of time in this (pve) game and which players are relative new. So it is basically a way to show off your experience.

This rather does not correspond with my experience. I am a good example for this, having Archon rank atm. Guess I did 99% of my XP in Battlegrounds - but many people may assume from my rank that I am perhaps a usefull mate for expert campains, I don't have a clue on most of these. There are some maps that I have perhaps never completet on expert so far.

And on the other hand, I see almost daily purple ranks in BG9 or BG10 that have not even a clue on the most basic mechanics there. (its the right hut seen from the entrance !!! :) )

But if many people share your view, this is a thing we have to concern about indeed. But I personally guess if someone earns one of the speedrun titels, takes the option to show this speedrun title instead of his quite low pve rank, the speedrun rank still shows more about that player then his, lets say high silver rank, does. Because if he can do constant top10 ranks over month that show quite some skill.

To give you some inspiration, one of the ideas we had so far is a New Game+ experience which basically is a button to reset all your progression (bfp, cards, gold, etc.) which only is possible once you collected all cards fully upgraded. The reward for this would be these ranks, so after doing this 4 times you would become master of the Forge.

Love this idea, though it would be a crazy achievement!

In order to carry the idea forward, how would it be to invent and introduce 4 further titles with the community as additional "collecter ranks"?
Together with the idea of making the titles freely selectable, that sounds - for me - more and more round.

He wants the speed rank! :-D

Not sure if you are speaking of Zyna, or me :)

But I guess you are right in both cases. Zyna has it and I wouldn't say no to that titles. Thats was my reason to ask for it. :D

Only taking part with the mobile, some deeper thoughts later.

First step should be what MephistoRoss already did, collecting general ideas about a system we can agree on - not too detailed for now. I will sum up those ideas in the opening thread later, too

On the issue that the golden ranks "overwrite" those normal pve ranks:

I think that shouldn't be a big problem. First of all those golden ranks seem to be more shiny. Most people would not even complain if their 4*Purple rank would be overwritten by a golden rank, or?

But perhaps it would be possible to implement a system where people could choose among their obtained titles which one they want to display, as many games do. @Devs: What would you say from the gut, would such a thing be very complicated to implement? (Long term seen ofc)

  3. Ah thanks Treim, do you remember numbers for the ranks too?

Guess the first pretty "easy" while the last totally insane?

Was is like an alltime achievement, or was it kinda connected to the activity?

  4. Hey folks, hey devs,

not really sure where to put this, as it is a mix of a suggestion and a question:

Are there any plans to make this ranks aviable again? If not, wouldn't it be an idea to do so - not sure with how much work this comes

    grafik.png.88247ee4b5145908b4a1241b9852652c.png

In the old days I was so casual that I never even recognized those ranks, I don't even know how they are to obtain.

But it would certainly increase the competition a bit.

Especially the 1 Player Map is often only played by a handfull of people - and I know there are at least a few dozen people that are able to beat BG10.

And furthermore - it looks so cool :D

    Cheers

  5. Rpve 10 has the same, or prolly more, waiting time. Even on weekends during EU prime time.

But it is our decision to play those modes, I am not sure if that should be taken into account

Your thoughts are good. But I see problems comming, if playing a certain mode is mainly driven by the rewards

  6. Sup

Another word on defect replays here, try the following: Copy the replay out of the Replay-Folder and copy it back (I renamed it too) -> replay works for me

Maybe this will help others of you too :)

kk - so now I am looking for a mate for this project. Preferably a middle european, middle aged, relaxed mate that plays in the evening and weekends. Send me a tell via Forums/Discord/Game if YOU are interested

    cheers

PS: Preferably european because of the reason to share the timezone

But if i would want anything to change with AH, is to add a 1-2 week option so that cards can stay longer than 24 hours and keep the prices more stable.

We don't got enough players to naturally keep the market competitive with 10+ sellers of each card, so by increasing the auction limit, people will be in more competition and make the prices drop/be more stable.

    Wise words

  8. Hi all,

I made a list of all cards for different personal purposes. I looked long to find a complete card list as excel sheet and improved the best one I could find. As this took quite some time, I want to share it for all data freaks who wanted to such a list (as me):D  The sheet is view only, but you should be able to make a copy. If you people find any mistakes, please let me know!

For all that do not trust spooky links some hard facts:

We have 538 cards aviable atm (perhaps +1 these days, as easter is upcoming)

     (Promos included)

    - 173 common

    - 149 uncommon

    - 145 rare

    - 71 ultra rare

GOOGLE-SHEET: All Battle Forge cards - google doc

Have fun and let me know if you find any bugs or encounter any problems.

    Cheers

  9. Imho none card is ever mandatory. As Treim stated, some cards are obvious better then others, and ofc some cards are played way more often then others.

    Reffering to your list:

Green: Surge of Light, Ensuring Roots

If you play Nature T1, yes, this cards are very good. If you play late nature orbs this cards could be a waste slot.

    1 hour ago, Th3S0uL said:

    Red: Eruption, Mine

Same as for green, good if you go fire t1, else perhaps a waste slot. And even if you go fire t1, no card is mandatory (though Mine is ofc what you normally want)

    1 hour ago, Th3S0uL said:

Purple: Furnace of Flesh, Shadow Phoenix

Two very good cards, but situational: If you play SoW for example, you could decide to leave FoF at home, or or or

    1 hour ago, Th3S0uL said:

    Blue: Coldsnap, Juice Tank

Here comes my harsh disagree! I see often people playing 4x Juice Tanks in rPvE *facepalm* Please don't spread the message that Juice Tank was a "must pick" card - it is NOT. Juice is a very, very situational card, that almost never benefits. Exceptions are the Juice/Booster combo or VERY long campaign maps (for instance if you solo longer 4 Player maps, and even for this purpose they are mostly a waste slot)

Coldsnap is again ofc a very cool card, but can be replaced by other cc cards.

My personal(!) "must pick" list, would be situational, like:

If you play Nature T1 with WW, I would highly recommend Ensnaring Roots.

If you play Fire T1, Mine is recommended.

If you have at least one green orb, you usually want to take "Regrowth"; perhaps Breeding Grounds, but that is again depending on the rest of the deck.

If you don't play pure Frost, consider any Voidmanipulation! SoW>FoF>SoM (imho)

But I think we have enough posts, where we hail the nice cards that everybody plays :D

  10. I go mostly with Flrbb, there is many good advice in his post. What I missed: Breeding Grounds. If you have 1 Green you usually want to take them with you.

    T1:

If you stick to frost t1, which I like very much, try Frost Mage + Master Archers + Homesoil + Barrier, that is usually really strong. Wintertide or the mentioned Frost Glyph may help in higher difficulties.

    T2:

In T2 usual units are Mounty (personally don't like em, but they are common and need to be mentioned first), Razorshard (super cheap, super strong), Aggressor (as said, lacks dmg but gives superb crowd control) or Stormsinger red (cheap, M-Counter, Anti-Air).

Nice spells for T2 where all mentioned imho. Matter Mastery is very strong, though it is a waste slot when you face Lost Souls. But if not, you have a great combo with your T1 Homesoil even in the late match.

    T3:

Depends imo if you go solo/duo or 4player. For 4 player the frost/nature T1-T2 is usually more then strong enough to take T4. If you want to be safe, take 1x T3 unit. If you go solo, your T3 need to be strong enough to face the next camps, you can take 1-2x T3 units then. I like Deepcoil/Core Dredge here, as I prefer not to have melees until t4 in rPve.

Strong spells in t3 are Stone Shell (green!!!!:)) and Revenge.

    T4:

    Completely go with Flrbb!

Other cards you could check out, if you like them: If you go for 2 Green (to get Grinder for example) -> try Shrine of Memories.

Inc Mo (he fits always, if you have a free slot)

    Breeding Grounds

Wheels - expensive, but deluxe buffs

if you try wheels and have a slot: Construction Hut

    Cheers

  11. Thanks for the reply Mephisto!

The intention was (at least for me) only to let you devs know.

I guess it is helpfull for you, if we tell you if this happens again - correct?

I don't want anything back - only want this one fixed till release, cause this is a very nasty major bug imho.

  12. +2 My BFP dropped too 0 too. Not sure if it is related but a few seconds before a player asked us, to send him a blank testmail. Short after sending a Mail (with ofc NO cards or BFP) my BFP where gone, and some players sayed in chat that they lost their points too.

Please do not abuse the rep system, e.g. negative repping because you disagree with a statement, or because someone else does. Use your rep responsibly.

I am really sorry for the offtopic, but this statement made me curious how this Upvoting/Downvoting should be used. Cause I used it so far as you discribed, to show my (strong) agree/disagree with a post.

Ofc I used it responsibly, what means for me: I would use a Upvote much faster, then I would use a Downvote (in never downvoted so far iirc).

But after your post it seems I got this system wrong, how was it intended @MrXLink ?

  14. As mentioned there is no game very similar to BF.

If you look for a TGC with turn-based strategy, I can recommend "Fearia". This is a TCG/board game mix - I enjoyed it quite a while. And if you enjoy draft-tournaments you will spend a few nice hours there.

  15. This triple-delay has one good thing. If only a few of that people that are getting completley mad now are quiting from this community as they promise, the average age raises a bit :P

Jokes aside: It is sad ofc, but if you are not ready for OB, then take the time you need. Really great work, thanks to the complete SR-team!!
