  1. Even more obvious tips: Don't select Expert difficulty 😉 Skylord Ladies must not get hit by the bombards/artilleries You got two Heroes that have abilities to break walls and buildings
  2. I always felt that Twilight is Nature gone wrong, infused with the aggression of Fire. Guess my impression stems in large parts from how Rogan introduces them: "When we returned to the surface, we found everything has changed! Become… twisted! They attacked us, like vile beasts!"
  3. I have to double-check in with Myno, but if I remember correctly, it's not random but given under certain circumstances.
  4. Hello Skylords, Skyladies and other Skybeings; and welcome to CCC #2 – the second Crappy Community Contest! THE CONTEST HAS ENDED. To see the winners, click here. If you are just here to grab the booster code, there you go: CCC2-SAVE-THEF-ORGE What are “Crappy Community Contests”? This and future CCC's are meant to be small-scale contests with weird challenges, hopefully luring you away from well-trodden paths. They are small-scale on the organizers side too: there will not be a stream, video or event announcing the winners. What's special about these contests is a participation price for the whole community. What, when, where, how? CCC#2 offers something very special – a completely new map made by Mynoduesp just for this contest: The Besieged Forge - Fastest Time wins As the Skylords return from their efforts to restore Nyn, the Forge itself became infiltrated by Stoneskin and Bandits. For this challenge, win the 1-player community map “CCC - The Besieged Forge” on Advanced difficulty as fast as possible. For instructions how to access the map, see below. The contest has already started – submit your replay together with your In-Game-Name through Discord (DM to Kapo#0116) or the Skylords Forum (DM to @Kapo) until 05. FEB 2022 23:59 CET (= 7 days time total). You can find your replays here: Documents => Battleforge => replays (your last game will always be saved as autosave.pmv). You can submit multiple times, but only the one with the fastest time will count. Please note that the Top 3 Replays will be posted here in the forums. To reduce my workload, you may rename your file to CCC2_<time>_<IGN>.pmv (e.g. CCC2_08.28_Kapo.pmv). Special notice: Since this is a completely new map, if you find any major bug that breaks everything apart, and you finish in ten seconds (or something like that), we reserve the right to disqualify entries. Clever use of mechanics is still encouraged, though. Community Maps How to access “The Besieged Forge”: What's the prize pool? Since this is not just a Crappy Contest, but a Crappy Community Contest, you may earn a price for the whole Community. If we reach more than 25 participants (unique players, not entries), you will unlock a Mini-Booster code for the entire Skylords Community. If more than 40 participants enter, it will be upgraded to a General Booster instead of a Mini-Booster. So tell your fellow Skylords to try this challenge – it raises our chances to hand out a code for everybody. The Skylords with the fastest times will get prices as well. In the unlikely case of a tie, the run that was submitted earlier gets the higher placement in the ranks. 1st place 5 General Boosters + Rogan Kayle Promo + Stronghold + Ravenheart + Mauler 2nd place 4 General Boosters + Lyrish Knight Promo + Mindweaver + Ravenheart + Mauler 3rd place 3 General Boosters + Enlightenment + Moloch + Ravenheart + Mauler 4th place 2 General Boosters + Firedancer + Shadow Worm 5th place 1 General Booster + Wheel of Gifts + Shrine of Martyrs 6th place Spitfire + Bloodhorn P 7th place Core Dredge B + Skyelf Commander 8th place Tortugun R + Lost Grigori R 9th place Matter Mastery G + Cultist Master 10th place Revenge + Skyelf Commander Last place Juice Tank (x4) For participation, there is a random chance to win one of the following cards: Random Draws 5x1 General Booster, Infect, Overlord, Brannoc, Church of Negation, Worldbreaker Gun, Juggernaut, Grinder R, Shrine of War Sponsors If one or more mighty Skylord(s) decides to sponsor this event, please contact me. I would be more than happy to expand the prize pool beyond 5th place, add additional random draws, or any other upgrades to the prize pool. If you like the map as much as I do, go and tell him. 😉 I’d also like to add that the Editor and all necessary tools for creating a map are accessible to every Skylord at all times. So maybe the contest will spark some interest in the art of map making - as many of you already know, one of the most wished for and requested features for Skylords Reborn are new maps to play. The SR Team currently seeks out Map Testers, Map Artists, Map Designers and Map Developers. Good luck and best regards, Kapo Asked Questions Future events If you are interested in helping with these (or better) kinds of events for the community, or want to host one yourself, don't be afraid and simply reach out! Contact our beloved Event Managers Minashigo Hiko and Metagross31 on the forums or discord. They are happy to assist you with upcoming events and with sponsoring your prize pool! If you especially like this small-scale-format, and you have an idea for it, you may also contact me directly to discuss your idea.
  5. added suggestions from @Majora and @Lans thank you guys 😃
  6. I guess this format would work better not in editions, but in faction limitations. One Season could be "Fire Cards only" etc. You could make an automatic rotation, like every 2 weeks - and some extra reward if you play seasons (most likely Gold?).
  7. Another small proposal: Put the beacon for the wrath of the souls in the middle where the starting orb clusters meet, anybody who puts a unit near it can activate it. (this would also would repair the bug that if noone starts at Pos1, that there is no beacon spawning at all cause it's part of the Pos1-Orb-Cluster)
  8. If I understood the rules right, it doesn't matter how a unit is spawned - through a spell, an effect like Grim Bahir applies.... the only thing that counts is that you gain no ground presence.
  9. THE WRATH OF THE SOULS GAINS STRENGTH!
  10. Whoa, what the hell is happening here 😕 Some time ago there was quite the chill discussion about this on discord, without all that politics dragged into this. The icon in discussion is especially weird, since it has nothing to do with the World of Nyn. Some Hag poledancing disco-style so all males around her into doing nothing? Maybe some kids in mid-puberty are happy with that, but for us grown-ups, this is just lackluster and stupid. I'm by no means a woke social justice warrior, but at some point you just have to notice that there is not one single dancer-type unit that doesn't have their arse on full display. I think you don't have to be a genius to figure out that we see some tropes in play in the artistic design of that game. By the way, that doesn't mean we have to change everything, because nobody proposed this yet, and as far as I know nobody sees this as a priority issue. They are working on new game modes, new maps, new voicelines, etc. So let's not blow this out of proportion like anyone suggested radical changes.
  11. Beginners Guide for Disinterest in Skylords Economy Or: How to not get screwed over by your own mistakes, the market, or other players Skylords Reborn – a wonderful piece of RTS gaming – but also a Trading Card Game with market mechanics. Some enjoy the economic aspects a lot – but maybe you don't. This guide is as short as possible and gives you simple tips of what you should do and what to avoid. If you just want to play the game, make progress and have fun, this guide is for you. Check prices: When buying or selling something over a certain limit – lets say 100 or 200 BFP – check the median price first. You don't need to memorize anything, use www.smj.cards (courtesy of [GM] Maze). Sometimes cheap cards are on temporary low supply and sold for outrageous prices. You only know what's going on if you check the price beyond the lowest market buyout. Sell Boosters: One way to ensure progress is to stay away from the gambling machine. You might end up losing several BFP, or you might win big – but that's especially a bigger risk for someone who is just starting out. For a casual player, staying even also has a downside: selling cards takes time too, and that's time not spent playing the game itself. Plan ahead: As a beginner, select one or two factions/decks you want to put your resources into and stick to them. Don't pump all your resources into fire cards and lose interest the next day. Cycling through your resources usually means losing some amount of BFP. High value - buy on chat, sell on market: On very expensive cards (>500 or 1000 BFP), take some time and buy them on the chat. Bartering can save you a lot – demand a healthy discount, otherwise you could buy from the market anyway. Selling expensive cards goes the other way around, just put them up on the market. Reforge right: The Reforge can be a powerful tool, but don't put random cards into it. To keep it simple and if you don't want to learn the exact mechanics, just put 4 of the exact same cards in, and you will be fine. Just be sure to never trash something of value. Be patient: This is the hardest part – many already mentioned points revolve around the ability to wait if the situation isn't right. You don't have to wait to sell a card for months – just don't sell it while it's at the very bottom. When buying a card you really NEED for a deck to play right now, you can make conscious exceptions for this, but moving fast almost always means losing BFP. Hopefully it helps new players with disinterest in economy a bit. If you have some additional tips for beginners and people who want to participate in the market as little as possible, just suggest them and I will add them here: Have fun: Even though the advice above is sound, don't force yourself to optimize too much. For example, if you have fun opening Boosters, just do it, especially while you are still exploring what cards exist and what factions you may or may not like. Stay Updated: Skylords Reborn is in constant development, there is a regular forum post of changes that also contains a free Booster code. Official streams or videos usually come with codes too.
  12. I had a very similar thought. If Boosters are economically worth, it is not the same thing how Booster-Opening _feels_. Pre-Patch, you had a Crap Booster filled with Portal Nexus and Altars of Nihils, but HUGE rushes when you got your LSS/Shaman/Frost Mage or your Wheel/Shrine of War/etc. In the new situation, those rushes are dampened, cause the big cards ain't that big anymore, but the crappy Uncommons and Rares gained hugely in value. But those gains doesn't make you feel good, our ape-brains do not care if an Uncommon is 30 BFP or 3, and they do not care if Altar of Nihil is 10 or 70. But, economically, this makes a HUGE difference. (As a sidenote, I'd like to add that sometimes in games you have to design how it feels for the player and not the cold-heart truth. But the market economics of this game is not the right place for such an approach.) Something different that RX8Toxic wrote, I agree with his assessment of the first weekend. Long-time players, especially those who cycled through Boosters for a while, had a huge opportunity to cash in BIG on piles of Commons and Uncommons. Just imagine what could have been if it were the other way around - worse rates for the first rush and after that then an improvement in %-rates. But it's all too easy to talk smart afterwards, the damage is done, and the best course of action is to wait for the market to settle - "sit tight and assess". I'm 100% sure the system is already alot better then before the patch, and there is no need for instant action.

    Crash in PTD

I was just looking at some dying units of another skylord, so that could be possible. BTW, it wasnt just me that crashed, everyone in the game did - if this is some helpful information in finding the Bug.

    Crash in PTD

NAME: see Title DESCRIPTION: Played PTD - game crashed, got no warning message. REPRODUCIBILITY: No idea 😃 SCREENSHOT/VIDEO: n/a LOG: log and crashdmp attached ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: n/a _log_proxy_0.log crashdata.mdmp
  15. I didnt openly post the full list because some of the more casual participants would not be comfortable with it. But I can post a total list of entries just of the times (without the tenths, I had to use a tool for that one by one), and since you know your own time you can see how you ranked in the field. I might note that there is an additional Entry of someone getting as close as possible to the lose-condition of 15:00, but the entry of 14:58 isnt in the list - that Skylord also submitted a "real" entry. Additionally I'd like to mention that those 9/10-minute entries are Only-Tower-no-Unit entries. So, there you go:
  16. Finish the rest of the maps with Tutorial Deck
  17. NAME: see title DESCRIPTION: On lower graphic settings, when you cast Sandstorm as a player, everything is fine and visible. But the Slavemasters (Boss) Sandstorm gets invisible - on the Slave Master Map and on rPVE. REPRODUCIBILITY: Set Graphics to low, meet Slave Master, don't kill him too fast 😃 SCREENSHOT/VIDEO: n/a LOG: n/a ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Can be of importance for newer players. You die and you have no idea why. If you already know what you are dealing with, he makes the animation of casting it, and then you just guesstimate another position to move to.
  18. Hey, about one year ago the Beta ended, and all Accounts have been reset - that's most likely the reason why the cards are gone.
  19. Dear Skylords, I just sent out all the prizes - and want to mention again that those came from very generous Skylords sponsoring the Event. When sending them out, I noticed that I forgot to add an Aggressor (B) into the prize pool, so I put him into the Consolation Prize (16th). This concludes all business around the first Crappy Community Contest. If you have any feedback around the event, feel free to chat me up or write me a note. K.
  20. Its a very special one! Thanks for noticing, this has been corrected in 7 seconds.
