Greetings Skyladies and Skylords,

Welcome to the beginning where it all started.
This event will test your skill with the cards that all start with on the first single player  campaign map “Encounters with twilight ”.
You can use the filter "*starter*" to see all the cards allowed for this challenge.

Quick Overview:

Ranking:              First by deck level (counting only all the used cards), then by time.
Map                     Encounters with twilight
Difficulty              Advanced
Goal                     To play a deck containing only starter cards and with a low deck level.
Date                     01.05.2025 until 18.05.2025 23:59 CEST
Prizes                   Boosters + BFP
Tipp:                    You can use advanced filtering: "*starter*" (Search bar in you collection)
                           

Ranking:

1st Place:    5 General Boosters            + 500bfp
                       
2nd Place:  4 General Boosters            + 250bf
                              
3rd Place:   3 General Boosters            + 125bfp
                                      
4th Place:   2 General Boosters
                   
5th Place:   2 General Boosters
                   
 
All players competing will get at least 1 General booster if the deck level is below or equal to 60.
                

How to send in my replay?

There is a new section on my Website: https://t1421.de/
You need to upload the replay and if its valid run ->  you're done
(You can find your replays here: Documents=>BattleForge=>replays)

How will the winners be revealed?

Once the event is over, I will analyse the replays as soon as possible.
@Ultralord has offered to host a stream in which he will show off some of the winning replays.
The stream will happen one the 30.05.2025 at 19:00 CEST on Ultralord's Twitch channel (https://www.twitch.tv/Ultralord_T1421).

Very nice event! Do we have to manually unupgrade the used cards or is there some way to make it so they are unupgraded just for the event map?

How is deck level defined? If we all set our units to level 0 the total deck level becomes 0 no?

Deck level = total upgrades applied + total charge upgrades applied and can be seen in the deck selection menu.

Thats why I asked if there is a better way to get it to 0 than to uncheck 6 boxes each on 20 cards and then reapply upgrades whenever they are needed again for something else 😃

Interesting idea. I guess the play could be removing charges but not upgrades?

Encounters Expert is (one of?) the easiest maps to do with the tutorial deck, which is an even "worse" restriction than this event, so the winners will definitely need to go down to 0.

But if all you want to do is get the 1 booster for beating the event with a deck level of at most 60 then only removing charges would be enough.

so in the end the winner will be a 0 mana deck, and the actual challenge is beating it the fastest with level 0...

 

So just to be sure. If i run a deck with 2 cards 0 changes/uogrades each, and finish them map and someone with a full deck of 20 cards 0charges/upgrades each beats me with a faster time, he wins?

 

Hoped this would be more challenging like doing it with 2 or 3 cards -,.-

From the way I understand it, yes, since a U0 card does not add any deck level it doesnt matter if you have 1 or 20 of them in your deck, the total deck level is still 0.

The resulting effect of all the top players having the maximum "main score" was also present in the last Battle of Tactics which results in time tiebreaks being the actual goal for top spots. I dont think that is bad but rather an unavoidable effect as long as it is possible to beat the challenge with the maximum difficulty enabled. Even if this event was run in Encounters Expert there would still be only 0 deck level submissions for the top spots. Might make more sense to look at this as a speedrun competition.

Deck size as part of the scoring criteria would probably lead to people doing insanely slow runs with 1 or 2 cards on Encounters since it doesnt punish you for stalling out. Doesnt sound particularly fun to me personally, but the deck size idea might be nice on a map that has an internal timer where you cant just wait for card recharge as long as you want.

Nah, wouldnt be that slow, just finished 17 mins with 2 cards ^^

But good to know lets find the fastest level 0 deck, also fine as competition.

Yeah, that one of my biggest challenges: finding a ranking which is not BE FAST. 
Which is actually harder then you think.

 

Also i know that some played beat Encounter with TW on EXP with only 1 unupgraded Card.
Which is impressive, but not a lot of fun to watch on Stream 😉

You only have to click onceNeue Bitmap.bmp to uncheck all 6 checkboxes

I enjoyed the challenge, but after winning with a 0-deck level and under 18 minutes, I did not have the desire to lower my time by 1 to 2 minutes.  Thanks for hosting this and hopefully more challenges will come along.
