  1. Greetings, fellow beta testers and the Skylords Reborn team! I came across a few issues when using the 'Lost Wanderer' unit, so I decided to submit a bug report concerning them. NAME: Lost Wanderer Unit / Ownership Classification Bug SEVERITY: 3 LOCATION: Lost Wanderer unit (in-game) PREVALENCE: Constant DESCRIPTION: A Lost Wanderer entity, summoned by a player, does not seem to count as a friendly ground unit – even if it is your own Lost Wanderer. You can control the unit without any issues, but having it next to a treasure chest will make the chest irretrievable, as if an enemy unit was standing next to it. You can pick up treasure chests once any Lost Wanderers are out of range. Furthermore, Lost Wanderers do not receive healing when standing next to owned or allied Power Wells and Monuments. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Unrelated to the unit / ownership classification issue, but Lost Wanderers also seem to have very poor and possibly bugged unit / order / pathing AI. Lost Wanderers tend to remain idle when given attack-move orders when friendly units are nearby. It seems as if they want to hang back a bit and apply barriers to friendly units, but they often remain idle even after friendly units move out of range, almost as if they dropped any move or attack move orders.

    Skylords Reborn team, this is just a meme joke. xD In all honestly, I appreciate the work you folks are doing and hope you take as much time as you need to release, what you deem to be, a stable and reasonably playable open beta build for the community.

    How Should new Cards be Introduced?

    Would you not extend this to PvP as well? Personally, I don't think that shaking up the PvP portion of the game would do any harm. People seem to be afraid of change because it may meddle with the builds and strategies that they themselves used to use, as well as the builds and strategies used by others. I have zero issue with this, as I personally considered BattleForge PvP to be a rush-fest with a few cookie-cutter builds. I mean, I was never an exceptional BattleForge PvP player, but this does not mean I am incapable of forming a reasonable opinion of the game's PvP based on the moderate time I sunk into PvP and from what I have gathered on forums and other websites. As a former high ELO player of vanilla DoW2 and a former high-end platinum player in SC2, I like to think that I am at least capable of recognizing cookie-cutter builds and underwhelming entities in RTS games that I haven't sunk as much time into. Regardless, it seems to me that the intent is to preserve the PvE and PvP feel that BattleForge had in its glory days, so new cards may not even be released. However, if new cards are released, I cannot see the devs introducing intentionally underwhelming cards for the mere sake of adding new toys to play with in PvE whilst having them remain almost completely useless in PvP for the sake of preserving the old metagame.

    How Should new Cards be Introduced?

    Yes, of course, some of the enemies have overlapping abilities, extremely high stats and so forth. These are things that would need to be tweaked or changed completely, released and then carefully monitored by development. There are so many enemy entities that are unobtainable by the player, which is a wonderful thing if you ask me. As far as custom cards go, the unique enemy models can be used to create a custom unit based off of the enemy using the model, or a unique enemy model can merely even serve as a starting point for a completely new unit that just happens to use the model. I know, personally, that the Twilight could be a great start to try out some custom cards that are based off of enemy entities, considering that there are loads of unobtainable Twilight entities. I wasn't around for the Amii, but do they have a lot of enemy units that are not obtainable cards? I can't seem to find too much information about them. Edit: Is it even possible to create completely custom cards? I wasn't around for the 4th edition content, but I do not remember any fire / frost hybrid cards being released. It would be amazing, perhaps, if completely new cards can be created, but I think that starting off by fooling around with entities that are already in the game, in the form of enemies, would be a much easier undertaking.
  5. Do you think that the Skylords Reborn team should make some of the non-usable enemy creatures and buildings into usable and collectible cards for players? If so, how do you think new cards should be introduced to the game? If not, why would you be against such a decision? I think I stopped playing before the 4th edition was released) Honestly, I think all of the non-usable entities should eventually be put into the game. The Skylords Reborn team could have their own custom edition content patches that introduce a small handful of new cards into the game with each new edition. If only a small handful of custom cards are introduced into the game per patch, the players and devs will be able to clearly see how the new additions impact the meta and will thus have a better idea of how to balance them. Once balance is deemed sufficient after several months of settling in, the next wave of custom cards could be considered. I already know that there are players out there that want the game to retain its vanilla stature, but I personally believe that adding all of the unusable entities as cards over time in waves will keep the game fresh, exciting and alive. Of course, many – if not all – of the unusable enemy entities will need to be tweaked, as some of them are likely overpowered or underpowered with their current stats and abilities. Thus, it may take some time and multiple tweaks in order to get each individual custom card to feel right. I believe that any possible short-term instability of balance caused by introducing new cards, by using the non-playable enemy entities, is worth enduring in the long run. What do some of you think?
  6. Eh, to each their own on this particular issue. I, for one, enjoy having variants of classic units exist within the Twilight, Bandit and Lost Souls factions. In fact, I would argue that the Skylords Reborn team should add the rest of the non-playable Twilight, Bandit and Lost Souls enemies to the collectible card pool. There are loads of enemies (creatures and buildings) from each of these factions that could and should be made into usable cards.

    Yes, I know, but I was wondering about something more along the lines of mass exchanging, where my brother (for example) would trade me all of his shadow cards and I would trade him all of my nature cards. I read, in another thread, that mass sending cards will often trigger an investigation.

    Hey folks, moderators and the rest of the Skylords Reborn team. I have a brother that is interested in playing the game for the first time and I read the thread about two players playing the game via one household, but I have two other specific questions that I would like to ask. 1.) My brother and I are going to be playing together and we are likely going to focus on building different decks. If I decide to focus on shadow and frost while he decides to focus on nature, will we be able to freely send cards back and forth as we desire? 2.) I do not plan on quitting the game, but if my brother ever decides to quit playing the game, would he be able to send his cards to me without us suffering any infractions? I imagine that such an action; even if it was a one-time-only occurrence would trigger an investigation, but I thought that I would ask up front anyways.

    New Element/faction in the game!!!

    A neat idea, for sure, but that might be beyond the dev team's capacity, as I recall there only being a 2D artist on board (correct me if I am wrong). However, NPC entities that are currently not featured as acquirable cards could be made into usable custom cards.
