  • NAME: Bidding at the same time.
  • SEVERITY: 2
  • LOCATION: Aution House, Forge.
  • REPRODUCIBILITY: 2/2
  • DESCRIPTION: Bidding at the same time seems to cause a chain of issues and at the end lead to one player losing BFP. I have posted a bullet list of everything that happened during the test that I did with bobfrog.
  • SCREESHOT: -

TEST:  Bidding at the same time.

Player 1 (ladadoos): ...2851 BFP
Player 2 (bobfrog): ...8539 BFP

Thugs: Current bid: 2 BFP

- Player 1 and 2 bid at the same time:
    - Player 1 bids 4 BFP.
    - Player 2 bids 3 BFP.

- Player 2 doesn't lose BFP and receives an "Invalid" message:
    - Highest bidder is still 2 BFP.
    - After refresh highest bid is 3 BFP.
    - He is not the highest bidder.

- Player 1 loses 4 BFP and receives a "Bid Successful" message:
    - Highest bid is 4 BFP.
    - After refresh highest bid is 3 BFP.

- Player 2 relogs:
    - He loses 3 BFP (Currently has ...8536 BFP).
    - He receives no mail.
    - Highest bid is 3 BFP.
    - He is not the highest bidder.

- Player 1 relogs:
    - He loses 0 BFP (Currently has ...2847 BFP).
    - He receives no mail.
    - Highest bid is 3 BFP.
    - He is the highest bidder.

- Player 2 bids 4 BFP on the card:
    - He loses 4 BFP (Currently has ...8532 BFP).
    - Highest bid: 4 BFP.
    - He isn't the highest bidder.
    - After refresh and relogeverything remains the same.

- Player 1 refreshes:
    - Highest bid: 4 BFP.
    - He is the highest bidder.

- Player 1 relogs:
    - He receives a mail with 4 BFP (Back to ...2851 BFP).
    - Highest bid: 4 BFP.
    - He is the highest bidder.

- Player 2 bids 7 BFP on the card:
    - He loses 7 BFP (Currently has ...8525 BFP).
    - Highest bid: 7 BFP.
    - He is the highest bidder.
    - After refresh and relog everything remains the same.

- Player 1 refreshes:
    - Highest bid: 7 BFP.
    - He isn't the highest bidder.

- Player 1 relogs:
    - He receives a mail with 4 BFP saying he got outbid. (Currently has ...2855 BFP).
    - Highest bid: 7 BFP.
    - He isn't the highest bidder.

- Player 2 bids 8 BFP on the card:
    - He loses 8 BFP (Currently has ...2847 BFP).
    - Highest bid: 8 BFP.
    - He is the highest bidder.
    - After refresh and relog everything remains the same.

- Player 1 relogs:
    - He receives a mail with 7 BFP saying he got outbid (Currently has ...8532 BFP).
    - He isn't the highest bidder.
    - Highest bid: 8 BFP.

  • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: During this test Player 2 lost 7 BFP permanently (His 4 BFP bid and 3 BFP bid vanished). The first issue is when both players bid at the same time,  it takes Player 2's BFP and makes Player 1 the highest bidder, although Player 2 receives an "Invalid" message and Player 1 a "Successful bid" message. After Player 2 made a bid again, his bid vanished directly. Nonetheless, the core problem seems to be that it makes the wrong player the highest bidder and that it takes BFP from the wrong player.

More testing would be appreciated, since this is a complex bug.

You can use this tool to get the timing right https://www.dropbox.com/s/vsmm76kqpkis3lm/timing.exe?dl=0

(it doesnt always get the time right, just make a rough check in skype and restart it) (you can close it with the trayicon)

eg if directbuy is affected too could be tested.

I can test this ad nausea however I will more than likely need a 2nd alpha account to do it.  I have 4 computers in the house so I can use multiple bidders to do it with.

I just tried to do a simu log in on TC's computer and mine and I was blocked.  I can test this however will need an additional temporary access account.  If not possible I guess TS will be the best way to try to time it?
