  1. Added MrXLinks statements about gold (http://forum.bfreborn.com/index.php?/topic/1227-the-point-of-two-currencies/#comment-28110 / http://forum.bfreborn.com/index.php?/topic/1227-the-point-of-two-currencies/#comment-28166)
  2. That quote was meant as a response to the request of removing the upgrades themselves. I already noted at the changes (point 8) that the tokens will dissappear. Nevertheless, I edited it a bit to make it more clear.
  3. I updated the first post with statements that were made during todays Twitch broadcast, please let me know if I missed anything.
  4. Thanks for doing the broadcast! It was nice to get some more information about Battleforge Reborn.
  5. If anyone wants to use old custom maps as inspiration for making a new one, I uploaded all custom maps I could find on my PC here. If you have any custom maps that are missing, please also upload & post them here so we can play them all again. If you find any map not working, please report. 6. Since everybody will start in Battlefore Reborn with just the starting cards and 0 upgrades, it will probably be the easiest way to gain the majority of the upgrades by playing PvE maps. Therefore, I made a tool in excel to help collecting cards and their upgrades. The idea is that you can insert all the cards you have and the upgrades you want (optional with a priority) in the tool and it will tell you which maps you will need to play. I added card information like edition, faction, type, tier, rarety, counter, size, power, swift/flying and the lootlist so you can easily sort and filter. Note that I inserted all data manual, so please let me know if you find a mistake. Screenshot 1: First tab 'Cards' Here is how it works: The columns that you need to insert yourself on the tab 'Cards' are: -Own: the amount of that card that you own, all cards that are owned will automatically become bold text. -Upgrades wanted: the upgrades (U1, U2 and U3) that you want for each card, dont include upgrades that you already got. Please note that you need to use "U1" "U2" and "U3" as the tool only will detect it that way. -Priority: the priority of the upgrades that you want (this is optional), you can decide yourself what kind of scale you want to maintain, the tool will work as long as you only use numbers. -(Price): the price of the card in the AH (this is an optional column that is not used in the rest of the tool), you can decide yourself if and how you want to use this. For example you can insert the last price you bought the card for or you can keep it updated with the current price of the card or insert the average lowest buyout price. On the tab 'Upgrades wanted per map' it will show you the amount of card upgrades per map you filled in with U1 U2 U3 on the 'cards' tab. I made two views for this, on the top list I split up each difficulty and on the bottom list it has all maps/difficulties as a total (see screenshot 2). If you sort on priority, it will give you the total priority you assigned for all cards of which the upgrades are on that map. If you didnt use the priority column on the first tab, than you can sort it on the Upgrades so you get the maps with the most upgrades that you want. I already marked all the starting cards as 'Owned' and I set some priorities as example (see screenshot 1). On the second tab you can see that Bad Harvest on standard has 10 upgrades of cards I marked with U1 in the 'Upgrades wanted' column on the first tab and those 10 upgrades have a total priority of 28 making it the highest priority. This means I should play Bad Harvest on standard first for getting the upgrades that I want. After earning the upgrades, I should of course remove the ones I got from the first tab so that the total priority is recalculated automatically. You should keep in mind that for using upgrade 2 or 3 you will need upgrade 1 of course, so I suggest you start with the standard maps. Screenshot 2: Second tab 'Upgrades wanted per map' I added some macros on the first tab (in the .xlsm file) to make searching for a card even easier and I added a couple buttons to clear the search, clear all filters and a default sorting method (by tier, faction, own) (see screenshot 1). But in case you dont want to use macros, I also added the normal .xlsx file (there is also a search option if you press the downward arrow for filtering). The file with macros has a minor bug though, when you filter on something the grey/white lines wont be alternately (different sortings works fine though). Normally I would assign the data as a table to fix this, but if I do that the macros will give errors because they reset the filters. Therefore I had to use conditional formatting based on even/odd row numbers. I will look into this later, but it is not a real problem though. If people find a tool like this usefull, it would be great if the Devs could make something in the distant future so you can easily extract the data of cards you own and upgrades you have from the website so you can just copy/paste it in this excel file (or even better if they could integrate this excel functions in the website). As a last note: the Amii edition upgrades are not possible to earn by playing PvE maps (you could only get them with tokens), it is uncertain if the Devs will change this. Also the following cards will need confirmation for U1: Twilight Creeper, Architect's Call, Northland Drake, Firesworn, Dying Breed, Cluster Explosion, Lost Converter, Revenant's Blessing, Lost Banestone, Lost Warlord, Sylvan Gate, Deathglider, Vileblood and Hatecaster. Please let me know what you think about this tool and if you have ideas to improve it or if you have got any questions. Upgrades_collector_v1.5.xlsm Upgrades_collector_v1.5.xlsx
  7. I agree with Treim that it is a bit early to organize a tournament in detail. It is good to discuss the content/idea for a tournament, but registration is pointless right now. That being said, have you had contact with the staff about providing these prizes? Else I would suggest you talk with them first before discussing it here because maybe they dont want to provide anything for this tournament, they have a maximum amount they will provide or they have other ideas about tournament prizes. If the staff even have had time to think/discuss about providing tournament prizes, as I am sure they have higher priority things on their mind right now, so maybe it is better to wait a bit. Unless of course you are going to provide the prizes yourself. As a general note, I would always keep prizes for multiplayer teams in exact balance so they can be evenly devided among team members, so 2x the same for 2-player teams and 4x the same for 4-player teams because some cards you mentioned as one prize will have totally different values so it will not be possible to devide them evenly. For example the second rPvE prize, ashbone pyro (rare) will be way more valuable than all the other cards (commons) together. A last suggestion: it will probably also be possible to hand out some upgrade tokens as prizes, but of course you should also talk about this with the staff first.
  8. I dont think an option to choose what type of quest someone wants is needed as without a level system a player can actually already make that choice. For example if the quest is 'Complete Bad Harvest', the player can already choose on which difficulty he will play it. So the level system only makes sense if the Devs want to 'force' veterans to a higher difficulty (but I would understand if they would leave that freedom for the player to decide).
  9. Thank you MrXLink for the detailed description. Have you thought about some sort of level system for the quests, so that the quests become harder while you progress in the game (while the rewards stay the same)? The reason I am asking is that the PvE quests will either be very easy for veteran players or very hard for new players. For example with the quest 'Complete Bad Harvest', new players will only be able to complete it at standard (maybe advanced), while for veterans players completing any map on standard is super easy. So for example with a level system with three levels for each PvE quest you could make the quest complete bad harvest on any difficulty for new players, advanced or expert for players who are around for a while and only on expert for veterans. The same could be done with 'complete Battlegrounds quests' (any level, level 7 or higher, level 9 or higher for example). The server could determine which kind of player you are based on PvE experience or based on how many quests you have completed in the past. And of course some quests could still be the same for all levels (like play a map with a friend). For PvP this is not really a problem as new players will be matched against new players and veterans will be matched against veterans (at least if we have enough players looking for match). Multi accounters could of course just make a new account so they can always do the new player PvE quests, but I dont really see a problem with that. If they want to be lame, it is their choice I guess and they wont earn anything extra than without the level system. Now I dont know what other PvE quests you have in mind and maybe you also have thought of many quests which are not necesarily more easy for veteran players than new players, but I would still would like to hear your take on this.
  10. DragonOfTime 22:56 The ETA for the closed technical alpha is September 30thDragonOfTime 22:56 This will contain only the forge and social features
  11. I think the best way to help new players is to set up a good information page on the website (not forum) specialy made for new players. First of all, new players will always look on the website first (even before downloading, to see if they like the game). Secondly, the forum has way too much information for a new player who wouldnt understand the half of it, so they wont know where to look and probably only get confused more. So one page with a good introduction to the game should be the starting point for new players. This page could be called 'new player help' or 'game info' or something like that. This page should have two sections: first, a section with basic game information containing information like explaining the 'card' part of the game, the different factions, upgrades and how to earn BFP. I dont think this should be walls of text, but just the basics with some pictures to give a good first impression and to quickly learn what the game is about. The other part of this page should be a selection made by the staff with links to good 'new player guides', (tutorial) videos and more detailed game information posted by the community on the forum. This will give the new players a good introduction to the forum and the community while they dont need to find their own way through the thousands of posts because they are guided to the most helpfull threads by the staff. Another idea to improve the New Player Experience could be for good PvP players to give a PvP training. For example a good player could make a thread on the forum where new players can sign up for a sparring training. The advantage in comparison to mentoring is that he might be able to teach several new players at once. In this sparring training, the PvP player will play against the new players one by one while the others will spectate. After each good move or mistake, the PvP player will point out the good and bad things the new player did (and the spectators will be able to ask questions).
  12. I posted several PvE replays on the PvE section of the forum:
  13. yes, just press on the 'p' button (next to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc.
  14. The loot list is posted here: http://forum.bfreborn.com/index.php?/topic/828-loot-list-card-upgrades/. Or did you mean something else?
  15. Some speedrun are posted on youtube: http://forum.bfreborn.com/index.php?/topic/557-speedrun-links/, but most of these are not the record times but it might give you an idea.
  16. I am not sure if the exact percentages of the old booster ratios were ever published. But I think there were always 5 common cards, 2 uncommon cards and the last card was either rare or ultra rare (I would guess around 75% rare, 25% ultra rare). Take a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LdlDa8D_Gg in which they open 38 boosters.
  17. I added the times to the first post. @Treim, wasnt the 4p lvl10 solo that you posted Bandits?
  18. Sometimes when I get bored I like to watch some old Battleforge replays with commentary. 19. Ok, your time was 20:43.6, I added it to the list.
  20. Sure, I guess I can add solo speedrun rankings to list too. I wont add 4-player maps played with 2 or 3 players though (unless they were faster than a team of 4 players of course). So just the fastest time for each map, and the fastest solo time for each map. So if you have a solo record for a 2-player lvl 10 as well, please let me know.
  21. If you are willing to send me the replay, I can extract the exact time from it. Even from old replays.
  22. Hello everyone, I know I am kinda late with introducing myself, but better late then never I am a 28 years old male living in the Netherlands. I have a masters degree in Business IT and I am currently working as a requirements analyst/tester for a software developing company specialized in ERP software. I played Battleforge from just after the start until the very end. At first I was just a casual PvE player, having fun with just completing PvE maps and Battlegrounds. I never got bored of this because I always thought the maps were very unique (compared to other RTS games) and with using another deck, you could play the same map in a totally different way again. I also did some PvP but I never got really into it (although I was always planning to play it more often). During the last year of Battleforge I discovered speedrunning which I really enjoyed. I became quite addicted to this and I spent like all of my free time on Battleforge because of this. After Battleforge ended, I played a bit Starcraft 2, but I got bored after a couple months with it. Currently I dont really play any games as I never found a game again which I really enjoyed. But of course this will change when Battleforge is Reborn! MephistoRoss
  23. On the old forum I kept track of the fastest speedrun times for each map over the last year of Battleforge (from April 2013 to the end). I will continue this list including the new records from Skylords Reborn starting from January 2019. All matches were played on the highest difficulty (Expert/ 10 for Battleground).
