  1. You don’t have to fear, but you guys should not playon each other’s account.

    For example if your brother goes on a trip, you shouldn’t play on his account and do his quests, this would count as multi-accounting. But also normally stick to your own accounts, and you should be fine.

  3. Ahh ok so @Flrbb using instead a player driven system(Like you said manual decisions to sell or not depending on the user), it sounds like it mimics the WTB on some level. If such a system gets placed it should definitely be limited in

    1) Quantity of the same card you can buy.

    2) Quantities of different cards you can buy

    But such a feature will still indeed still be a step in “controlling” the AH PRECISELY because it is something a lot more permanent than “WTB/WTS”.

    Not to mention we are talking about a completely different section of Auction House the “reverse auction house” which would need to be designed/coded both in client and server.

    We would have to very carefully think this out, it might work economically but there’s also a relative high chance for abuse especially if not enough restrictions are put into place

    Instead of offering cards you enter a "want to buy a certain card for a specific price".

    Don't know how it affects the economy, but right now it sounds like a good addition to me. You instantly could get some BFP, if you want to buy a card. Also it could stabilize the prices a bit.

    Seems like a suggestion for the lazy way of browsing the AH. So if I understand correctly, such a system will (autobuy) cards for you depending on if it drops in price. Some first things that spring to mind that could be an issue.

    1) What happens if multiple people want to buy under x price. How do you determine who gets to buy it?

    2) If lets say people put a “buy order” of harvester for 100, and a hypothetical “market price” of harvester for 120. What happens if someone(a newbie) puts a harvester for 50bfp? It then automatically gets bought?

    3) If you don’t have enough BFP to execute the buy orders, which one will be executed?

    Now im not saying it’s impossible to do, but it seems like there might be a lot of logic conditions involved,  and I’m not so sure how necessary a feature is in the first place. It would (probably) also require significant ui changes to properly display all the needed information

    Yes, hey. I'm new here too. I actually stumbled across this game because I was playing AirMech Strike/Wastelands, but those games are just about dead. So I tried booting up Sacrifice for some challenge, but that doesn't run on Windows 10. So then I goggled for games like Sacrifice, and I came across this.

    It immediately captured my eye because it looked kind of MOBA-ish and fantasy, and the design is beautiful while also not resource-intensive-looking. Also, it involves cards. I never had much interest in things like Magic: The Gathering, but I always considered playing it if it was also an RTS or turn-based tactics game.

    Maybe if I have some time tomorrow I'll play. If not, then on the weekend.

    Hiya,

    it’s always a very pleasant feeling to meet players new to BattleForge as a whole, and not just new to this project (skylords reborn).

    Welcome!

    As WatcherOfSky said, feel free to ask anything and everything about the game. It can be quite daunting for a new player haha

  6. The chance is always there but very low. Multiaccount bans are done on case by case and through use of multiple flags. As long as you are not trading unfairly between the accounts, there shouldn’t be any suspicion on your accounts.

  7. Hey folks,

    Disclaimer: I have tried this method/installation and not managed to make it work, so I’m counting on some Mac genius out there to make it work and perhaps would be willing to make some sort of video guide that would be very(!!) helpful for those of us who aren’t apt with computers.

    I have some exciting news to share to you. I have received information that @Fahrazoid has succeeded in running Skylords reborn updater(and therefore BattleForge) via wine! He has been nice enough to pass along the instructions so that you fans on Mac out there can enjoy BattleForge too! Without further ado here are the instructions! You need to paste the lines enclosed by [] to the terminal! Do not include the [] themselves.

    1 (optional). Install brew. I believe it would be easier for major amount of users to complete package installation steps via brew. It is simple package manager: https://brew.sh/

    2. Install wine and winetricks via brew(need 5.0 version):

    brew install wine

    brew install winetricks

    3. Create wine 32-bit PREFIX. Prefix - simply is the directory for wine 'virtual windows', based on 32-bit system. (Its good, that launcher was patched to work on x32 ):

    [WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 WINEARCH=win32 winecfg]

    (This creates a hidden directory under User, called .wine32, which includes all the C drive and Program Files stuff and opens configuration window)

    4. In configuration window set the Default Settings to Windows 10 version and apply changes. Be aware, that winecfg has to be opened under 32 prefix. If it was accidently closed after 3rd step:

    [WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 winecfg]

    (first part of this command states, which prefix has to be used)

    5. Copy all the unpacked files of Battle Forge and Skylords Launcher preferably into the 32 PREFIX folder, into the Program Files. After all the steps were done, i had this setup:

    ~/.wine32/drive_c/Program Files/BattleForge (all the files were in this folder)

    6. Install dotnet461 via winetricks under the 32 PREFIX - It is.NET

    [WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 winetricks dotnet461]

    7. Install vcrun2010, vcrun2012, vcrun2013, vcrun2015 the same way - It is Microsoft Visual

    [WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 winetricks vcrun2010 (and repeat for other versions)]

    7.B. Repeat 4th step. Change back Windows version to Windows 10 because installation of dotnet461 changed it. Without this step the launcher was crashing.

    [WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 winecfg]

    8. After installation completes, you can try to run Skylordsreborn Updater (of course under 32 PREFIX), but before you should cd to the BattleForge folder:

    cd ~/.wine32/drive_c/Program\ Files/BattleForge WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 wine SkylordsRebornUpdater.exe

    Let me know if it works for you, or any problems you encounter in this thread

  8. Okay so I think there are several points being addressed/mentioned here

    1: A lot of you are talking about the reset. I agree that there is a lot of players waiting for reset and as such right now is not an accurate representation of how the player base would be after reset. There are still things to be done before reset but I feel we should wait for that before implementing/testing any changes to be able to fully see the impact.

    2:  Having a collection faster (Not in weeks/months).

    There are 2 main groups here. One that want a solid progression line and the feeling of building their cards from scratch, trading to get better cards and the other who want most(all) of their cards they previously owned without a lot of effort. Now before there was the possibility of buying BFP/gold to close this gap, however now we have to make a conpromise between these 2 types. The basic cards should provide a solid foundation, and they do, we have added t1 cards for every color, and a very reasonable base for building decks of all colors, on top of 2 premade decks. So if you compare the F2P experience with skylords compared to the original BattleForge you can see that skylords is much more beginner friendly. I think the idea of a temporary full collection in the beginning may seem like a good idea, however there is the downside that new players may be intimidated by the sheer amount of cards that there are. Not to mention the very immense game mechanics present in this game that are even more important to understand for pvp rather than pve. Therefore it is unrealistic to think that even with a full collection they will stand any chance against a more seasoned player. The way I see it there is only one good solution for this, and that is a healthy influx of new players. That way every player can find newbies at their card collection/upgrades/game knowledge level to have a taste of pvp. Mind you, it will not be a full pvp experience but at least it will not lead to as much(any) frustration compared to being roflstomped by old(er) players.

    3: Auction House:

    These are free markets, so with the auction house it may seem like the price is high simply because there isn’t enough supply of cards in the market, with the current model people are inclined to sell boosters, which means the net supply of boosters is much less as less boosters will be “bought” from the auction house itself. The high prices just reflect on that. I agree with the suggestion to make more BFP rewards/rather than boosters available and to scale up the BFP price and reward price.However, there is 1 unimplemented feature which will help with this abit We plan to release different edition/booster types which should also help a lot with specific card supply.

    All in all these are very important things to think about, but I think you guys are rather biased based on the nostalgia and for a new player, it will not be the same experience or mindset. It is nearly impossible to increase progression while still maintaining some form of progression as with the current rate many have already complained it was too fast( we received some requests to reset people’s collection already)
