  1. Speedrunning is much more about than simply using bad design of the game. First you need to create a efficient strategy. That requires much knowledge about the map and the cards in BF. The strategy will use the most efficient way to win the map. If bad game design allows you to finish the map faster, you include it in your strategy. After you got that strategy you need to perform it in the best possible time. Every unit needs to placed in time. You need to follow you strategy like a machine. If you place a unit 5 seconds to late, the run is over, you need to restart the map, because other could perform it better and beat your time. This is of course not everyones taste. If someone calls this hole process just "cheaty gameplay" then he does not know much about it. @Kilian Dermoth you do not seem to know much about speedruns. In fact you can not just skip a huge part of the story like Guns of Lyr or Soultree in the majority of the maps. They are probably just the most common speedruns. But still you left so many commend here. So who is the loud one here By the way the about the balancing: I think, the EA devs achieved their goal. It is not coincedence that Nature and Frost are bad for aggresseiv gameplay and fire suits very well for this. It is by design.   2. In my point of view the opinion of the devs should count more than new player's opinion. I would recommend the folowing order: Devs and Community Managers Player's who made really usefull suggestions in the past in the forum (like Treim, who wrote a lot of tutorials in the forum and made really good suggestions) Highly skilled players, Speedrunners and Top PvP Players (like LEBOVIN and HighTech) Players who are playing for a longer time, but are not really good at it Players who started recently playing (categorisation is left to the devs impressions) Dont worry, if Kubik would not care about the community's opinion, he would not have created this topic. You can just explain, why even Santa can be usefull in some speedruns
  3. Generally: Every day some new players from old EA Battleforge join Skylords Reborn. Would be nice, if we could tell them "The game mechanics are still the same" Would be good, to not make battleforge more complicated by unnecessarily changing it into pvp/pve abilities. This helps new players Card changes could satisfy some PvP players, but could also make some old players skeptical Personally: Mixed PvP/PvE maps sounds really cool to me, but I am not PvP player, so I can not tell I think, many players are new. Maybe it is even the majority. They are maybe to shy to write in the forum I think, many people avoid surveys, because they get often harass by surveys on many websites and with many emails
  4. The "Disconnected" pop-up appeared much faster than I thought. It took just 1 Minute. And I was mistaken about how to reproduce it. Seems like, it was not the waiting time. The reason is the messages, that you write. So, if you wait long, you usually write messages to other player's ^^ Now the correct version: write some messages to a person and wait for his answers. Then click on the scroll for "News". 100% crashrate DC-rate for me (tested it also on the testserver)
  5. @KubikThis one is very easy to reproduce. You just need to wait a long time (dont know how much, maybe 5-10 Minutes) in the forge, and dont click anything. Just wait. Then click on the scroll for "New", "Quests" and "Rankings". That will make Battleforge 90% (maybe 100%) freeze. Actually Battleforge does not really freeze, it just looses the connection to the Server. The game freezes for about 5 minutes and then you get the pop-up message "Connection lost" (Dont know the exactly words anymore, but it says that you lost the connection to the server Edit: See below). Playing a map for a long time has the same effect: if you click first on the scroll after a match it will cause an disconnect. But there is a way to avoid the Disconnect: If you click on the market first and use the search and after the search you wait 5 seconds. If you now click on the scroll you wont get a DC by clicking on the scroll. All the players I played with have the same bug. And I really mean all. (I know nobody reported it, including me, sorry for that). Here a list: ducarev Hittimo Speedy92 Loriens Ufonek (All random players I played with and other people in global chat, I dont remember their names anymore) I never played with someone, who did not had this bug What is more: I am not sure, but I think, that the same bug is also causing matches to not load and getting stuck in the loading screen. This bug came in a few weeks ago. I was not there before. I am not sure if this bug is client side. Just ask, if you need help to reproduce it. How it looks like for about 5 minutes (Everything is frozen, you cannot click anything. It is not even possible to close the game normally. The easiest way is to kill the Battleforge Task in the Task Manager): (picture coming soon) What makes me think, that this is a server sided bug is, that other players see you instantly, that you disconnected, while the affected played needs to wait about 5 Minutes before getting this message: Interessting: the "News" did open, after the "Disconnected" pop-up appeared, which makes me thinking, that the bug is server sided. After clicking on ok and relogging everything gets back to normal: (picture coming soon)

  8. Hi Dallarian, that is not a buy bug. The second cannon above is firing. They are shooting across, so at the north wall there should be no shooting anymore, after destroying the 1st cannon (The south cannon)^^

  10. Are you sure it was January and not March? Can you check if you still have the replay?
  11. With better cards, you can get better times. Now it is free to play and you can get all cards for free. Back then you need to buy them for much money. Same story for the PC Hardware. I would be not surprised if will see even better times in the future.
  12. --Updated/Corrected a few timesand doublechecked all times during the past days-- Kubik told me, that the times are not always correct in the replays. That idea sounds really interesting and I would love to compete in such events. The only problem is, that there is only one full team doing the speedruns at the moment. So we are missing some competiton. Hopefully the number of full teams will increase to two at the end of this weekend. For the future we can do such events, but I think, there should be at least three active teams to make such events worth it. The reason for the Duo and Trio rankings is, that there could be more smaller teams compete each other. Otherwise you can say, that your team is the best in BF, but it is not better than any other team, since there is simply no other team playing at the moment.

  14. @PritstiftI read your comment before it was edited and it really hurt me @Pritstift@MephistoRossDannyxx also known as DieToPlay, a known Speedrunner, got permanently banned in the beginning of the stress test, because he violated the rules. The rules clearly say "The usage of any bugs within any in-game content to any unintended benefit to any user in the game is forbidden and will result in bans." Using bugs/glitches is common for speedrunning as @MephistoRoss mentioned above and also used in Battleforge in 99% of the speedruns. So what is wrong in asking for green light? As I can see in the rankings, that not many players played the 2-Player motm rpve last month. There is also no Solo 2-Player motm rpve of @Treim and afaik he did not liked the map. So I guess, he just did not even tried it. I am pretty sure, if he would have tried, he would have archived a similar time or even a better time. I dont think, that my time was really extraordinary. Even @Loriens and @ducarev (Rank 1 last month) said, that they could have made 14:xx with their strategy. Now I am asking you: Would be your Solo run 16:9.1 in Titans possible without using all the bugs?   15. Updated times for 2-Player King of the Giants and Guns of Lyr @MephistoRossDo the other Admins share that view? I did not used that bug since back then, because I was not sure

Updated times for Empire (with 3 Player) and Guns of Lyr (with 2-Player) and added times for Battlegrounds @MephistoRoss@Kubik For the Blight you can see, that there is actually a case of a disconnected player. I guess, almost every speedrunner will agree with Mepistos opinion. Already the free monument from the disconnected player is a huge advantage. @Kubik I do not know, if I should count the Solo in 2-Player Battlegrounds time, since I used a bug. (I am not sure if it is a bug. Could be also intended from the old devs.) I know in almost every map speedrunner are using bugs like taking energy wells through walls (The Darwen Riddle) or triggering an later state of the game before finishing the current mission (Guns of Lyr) and even using the decomposer to transfering energy form one player to another player is already a bug, but used in almost every multiplayer speedrun. (The description of the decomposer explicitly says "decompose an own unit"). But for some reason, some players blamed me for bug abusing, when I used the bug (if it is actually a bug), so I want to know it. Is it now ok, to use bugs to archive better times or is it against rule "13. Game client and bug abuse"?
  17. There are times, where I had to write "Does not appear in the 10 pages of the rankings" or "possible better times of MONTH are not included". I went until the end of the 10 pages and could not find a single game with the matching amout of players. I think, it would be a nice feature for the speedrunners.

NAME: Lobby bug, which affects all PvP games and Community Map Players SEVERITY: 1 LOCATION: End of a match, Forge, creating a lobby REPRODUCIBILITY: ALWAYS DESCRIPTION: You can not create a new Community Map or PvP lobby after you played a Community or PvP match. The Buttom is greyed out and you cannot press it. There are workarounds commonly used. Relog is the brute force workaround. For the PvP lobby bug all PvP players leave the group after a match and create a new one. That fixes the bug for PvP. For Community Maps it is a little bit easier. You can just create a new lobby for any Campagne Map (or rPvE Map) and press back to go to the Community Maps and create a lobby there. But it is not possible to use the Community Map Workaround to fix the PvP lobby bug, because if you try, it will make Battleforge crash. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Could you just automate that workarounds, if it is not possible to fix it? NAME: Ranking does not show up SEVERITY: 1 LOCATION: Leaderbord Rankings REPRODUCIBILITY: Unknown DESCRIPTION: We broke the All-Time record in Titans with ducarev, but it does not even refresh our time in the leaderbord. I guess, it is caused by the Anti-Cheat. I dont want to share the Replay, but as far as I know, some Admins can access the replay. The Name of the replay is 20190404_112208_11304_PvE_04p_Titans.pmv SCREENSHOT: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I saw 16:06.6 as last time on my screen and ducarev saw 16:06.5 so it was far away form the 16.13.0 in the leaderbord. We waited more than 30 minutes now, so it is not the 5 minutes refresh/cron job

    3-Deck loss

    NAME: Deck disappeared in Forge SEVERITY: 3 LOCATION: Forge REPRODUCIBILITY: Really rare (Something like 1/1000) DESCRIPTION: I got a message with the daily reward. I collected the BFP and clicked then really fast on delete, which caused an Error message ([System]: Fehler beim Löschen der Nachricht! Fehlercode: -1) In Inglish: Error while deleting the message! Errorcode: -1. Then I clicked on the "News" to see the other quests and the Deck disappeared. Please ignore the other 17 messages with "Card is already in your deck".
