for real, shadow mage that costs over 50 energy is just not fair in pvp - not balanced, with harvester its the only reason why u would go for double shadow and making it cost even more energy is just bad imo... interested about your thoughts

This change was the result of much testing and shadow constantly reaching the top in tournaments. It was not a random change, and the unit (and faction!) are still top tier. What makes you feel its not balanced? 

On a personal note, I'm a shadow player myself, and the unit is still fine and a core card for the deck. It sucks to have a unit you love nerfed (and shadow mage is actually my favourite unit!) but it was not a nerf implemented lightly.
