  1. do you have another idea to reduce/remove RNG that would also not compromise the economy? if you let people straight up choose which cards they want then there isn't much of a point in trading or the AH UNLESS different people have different cards to choose from. if you let people earn cards over the story progression for example there wouldn't be much of a point for trading as well. those are the things that i thought of when you said that you don't want RNG but do tell me more. Tax would be one of the easier things to soak up some BFP to combat inflation a bit yah i would like to see it in action. different boosters would be again a nice solution to reduce RNG and also eat some . would like to see that coming back too. Escape from tarkov is a more "realistic" themed first person shooter made by a Russian studio. I always bring it up as an example since tarkov has a economy with a unlimited currency like we have here with they employ several methods of money sinks to slow down inflation. one of them is a tax for the auction house, others are cosmetics and general equipment you can buy. it is a different game where there is way more possibility for money sinks compared to skylords, at last in my opinion (cant think of much else right now for this game besides skins or other cosmetics)
  2. i didn't say people don't open boosters but the ones that always sell their boosters are getting quite the economy lead in my opinion. Well RNG makes boosters somewhat fun i say but to reduce it (and add more options to spend BFP) why not bring back the different edition Boosters? So if i want more cards from one edition you could buy a booster for that edition. Like they had it back in the day. so it is Less RNG then now. maybe reduce the prices for those edition boosters to less then a booster is right now but that had to be tested first. Inflation isn't TOO bad right now yes, but its only a matter of time and will (probably) go up more quick the more people play. Some other people suggested a BFP tax what would in theory work but may be a bit complicated to introduce seeing how the game works with trading and stuff. i always bring up tarkov as a good example for money sinks but you don't have a direct trade system in that game like we have here. if there was a Tax on the AH only people would maybe shift towards trading more but i don't think the AH would never get used since not everyone likes to interact with human beings i also like the idea to spend BFP on something other then cards, cosmetic things for example. Maybe different hud skins like other RTS games offer to spend those hard earned BFP on. Unit skins, etc. i think the possibilities are only limited by imagination and how hard it would be to implement. @Kubik tell me why you think that RNG should be removed if Boosters are not trade able. Just want to know what you have on your mind.
  3. well there needs to be some place where bfp disappears, the only place right now are boosters from the shop but people rather buy from other people for less, bringing the money back into circulation. I say make boosters not tradeable so when people want them they have to make their quest (for right now) or buy from the store. Side effect would be that the people that would never open boosters to sell them wouldn't get rich to quick, that is a good thing in my opinion. If you cant implement anything that eats BFP the economy will only work for so long till it inflates into nothingness that leaves new players without a chance to buy anything and rich player to manipulate the market as they please. On the turn of market manipulation, maybe there could be something to prevent a player from buying out all the cards of one type in the AH so they cant artificially inflate prices so easy. Lets say you can only buy max 4 copies of a given card from the AH and then you cant buy that card anymore for 24h or something like that. Right now this would still not work well since there are not enough cards on the AH for that to work properly. just some ideas and only my opinion.
  4. yah but its more like about the concept of deck building in general, that i wouldn't play the game as much without a reason to create decks for the different missions. And watching a youtube video on how someone else plays a mission just stifles creativity for new decks that build around the cards that i own but that is something that i find entertaining personally and doesn't has much to do with the other problems outside of that.
  5. building a deck with the cards i have is one of the main things why i play the game. i never said i don't like deckbuilding xD
  6. Hello skylords, i made a post in a thread a few days ago with some thoughts on economy and other aspects of the game what in my opinion need some change (for the end release or sooner) but that was the wrong place to discuss that. i make my own thread where i voice some thoughts and ideas that i had about the game. First of all i played BF back in the EA days a decent amount. i would consider myself a casual BF player, not a complete noob but not a pro player. and everything i write here is my personal opinion that aligns with a few friends of mine that also used to play this game back in the day. one of the big things that I've seen that the game was lacking are any kind of BFP sinks. if we look at a game like escape from tarkov that has a economy where there is infinite currency generated and also involves players controlling most of the prices. that game has many places where you need to spend currency to the system that will disappear form the economy. skylords only money sink are booster from the shop. as @Kubik posted in a other thread there are a decent amount of people buying boosters from the store, i would like to see the number of how many boosters people trade in a day. and since a few individuals stocked tens of thousands BFP on their accounts for those people it would be really easy to just buy every copy of a specific card in the AH and resell them for a MUCH higher price. in tarkov this usualy dosnt happen since there is way to much supply of stuff that people sell even though you can still see is when a person buys the 10 lowest priced things and sells it for highers. But they always pay some extra for buying and selling again so they slowly get drained of funds. There is not much to stop this behaviour so some ideas: more cards so people cant buy everything but then people get cards to fast. give a BFP for accounts that way a card can never exceed a given amount, my only concern is that maybe prices will then be always on the cap after a while. make people pay fees in BFP for putting up cards, gold is not worth anything at a certain point. for most games those fees are a % of the price they sell it, for example 2% feel free to add some ideas. Now some thoughts about something that i also discussed with friends that used to play this game(they don't play right now because of the reset) it is about progression in the game. BF never had a ultra amount of progression or something that you could easily see like in other games. Cards where heavily limited unless you spend a lot of real life money. But getting good cards F2P was a really daunting process. in skylords getting cards isn't that much of a problem anymore and i like that of course! but certain things make me less inclined to play more or keep playing. For example: the only reason right now to play expert maps is for upgrades right? like it used to be back in BF. but i don't need to play Expert if i can just play RPVE9 and farm gold that way. now that i can clear RPVE9 without much problems i started playing less and less, because i don't need to work out a deck with the cards that i own right now to beat a expert map. I could still do it but i am not that kind of person who does something just of the sake of doing it. and RPVE9 is so easy when you get a deck rolling i don't see a point in doing expert since i need to invest waaaay less effort in farming RPVE9 then making a deck for expert work. I know that there are many videos on how to beat a map on expert but that just removes 90% of the difficulty because i don't need to build a deck around the cards that i currently own, and that is the thing that kept me playing for so many hours back in the days. I didnt have much money so i couldn't build a fancy deck that every youtube video was using. I loved the videos that showed people how to beat a map with the starter cards what was amazing. Some ideas: change how i upgrade cards. Tokens existed for a reason. Give me a good reason to play expert if not for the upgrades. to throw something in here, i love the idea that when you beat all maps on expert that you get access to a different profile where you have everything unlocked but you cant trade or sell anything. That would solve the problem what some High end players have voiced that they don't get cards fast enough and they would like to have everything unlocked. make people work for it at last! this was a long post and i hope we can have a constructing discussion about some ideas. PS: Again, this is all my personal opinion.
  7. would be interesting to see that too!
  8. so there are 4000+ POTENTIAL cards in the game? so enemy units or units that are not live in the game that we can't obtain.
  9. Well using the cards you have to make a strategy is a different thing then picking a existing strategy and making a deck for that (that's how i understood your answer). i also like to follow a video and build the deck that is used but that dose not give me as much entertainment as forging a strategy myself since i don't have the cards to follow that specific video for example. it just removes a good portion of the reason to play for me, that's why i also don't play on the test server besides testing things like the new bfp system.
  10. i would argue that MTG and BF not only have cards in common. you have a deck building experience in both games to make a strategy, the difference in that case is that in mtg you cant build your deck to work against specific players unlike BF where you can build a deck that works directly against a mission. But working with what cards you have at hand is part of the reason why i always liked BF, limited cards are a good thing to get different strategies. People used to make videos about how you could beat maps with the starter decks because not many people had access to high end cards. The people that got the high end cards did things faster and better yah, but that's why time rankings in old BF had way more meaning because you had to ether spend lots of real life money so you could be on top with the meta strategies or you had to figure out a way to make it happen with your own limited cards.
  11. Well i would like to throw my 50cts also in here. i have been more active in the last few week/s and have read more on the forums as well and for the most part i don't see much comments from more casual players like myself (probably for good reason). I have plaid a decent amount of BF back in the EA days, not a complete noob but also not a top tier player. The last few posts that i looked into on here was a lot of back and forth about the game resetting and how BFP can be handled. And to mostly the higher players say that they want some way to unlock everything and that you get your cards more fast. I can understand where you are coming from but there needs to be a way to earn that, lebovin said something that i liked where you could make a second profile where you have everything unlocked but cant trade or sell stuff. And i support this idea together with @Kubik post that you would need to play everything on expert first to get that. So far the only reason why i would play expert in the first place is getting upgrades but since i started to be able to consistently Farm RPVE9 i can just do that because you get so much gold. Now i don't have any reason to play stuff on expert, so i don't need to make better decks so i can beat stuff on expert. so in the end i have nothing to do, and just doing things for the sake of doing isn't a great motivation for me. you can say what ever you want about EA but they know how to keep people engaged, that's why you had to get tokens from pvp or rpve if you wanted to get those max upgrades easy. And since we are getting more BFP than we had in the original BF already i don't think its a good idea to hand out even more by making Gold transfer into BFP, for that part i don't think its good that you can even sell Boosters! You can get so many boosters in just a few days when you start out playing with the achievements that the quest system has. For my part i like the Booster opening experience more then selling it but that is one of the big reasons people have 40k+ BFP just laying about. As for the reset, look at other games that consistently reset your progress, like Escape from tarkov. They do wipes so everyone starts on the same play field again so players don't have crazy good gear all the time and give people a reason to even play again, sure there are some people that would like to have everything unlocked because they don't like or don't have the time to put in the hours to get back up. But people that play a lot (streamers for example) always like it when a wipe comes around because they have a reason to play again. I know that BF is a different game with a different prospect but the problem is not that different. One of the big reasons why i enjoyed BF so much back in the days was the aspect of playing it more so i can get better cards so i can beat harder missions. Its called progression, EA didn't really handle that so well since you had to buy BFP for real money and that 1/2 BFP a day wasn't really something that was enjoyable and when people started selling BFP on 3 party sides you couldn't even get anywhere with trading. Well to summarise, i would like a progression system that keeps me in the game for long enough without handing me everything at once, that i have a reason to play harder missions, so i have a reason to make better decks. if i get access to a second profile where everything is unlocked after i beat all the expert maps would be a handy bonus but i wouldn't even use it for the most part. as far as i see it Gold earnings from rpve makes playing maps on expert obsolete and there should be something to balance that out, not more gold to upgrade things no, but the token system back in the day had its use, maybe something like that. getting cards and upgrades fast is not the way to go! unless you want to remove progression from the game then sure. The only reason this RTS is so different from other RTS games out there is the trading card aspect, you have RTS games where you can customise or use different units to change strategies but no other RTS game is unique like BF. and that is why i think this game even got revived, there is nothing out there like BF. ~Grey PS: this is all my personal opinion
