The 1.8.3 version of Towny (http://towny.palmergames.com/dev-build-towny-advanced-0-91-0-2-1-8-4/) works for 1.9 aswell

Using Towny instead of GreifPrevention would allow for a better community to run within the server as people would actually be living together instead of scattered around the world.

Actually the only downsides would be people using bad names and IP-bans has to be done. These are the only two I can think of.
