The Soultree - Discussion Thread

Responsible members of the Skylords Reborn team recently met to discuss possible changes to campaign maps. What is outlined here are the proposed changes to the map The Soultree. These changes are not final and are only proposed. As a warning, other map projects such as more RPvE presets and Defensive RPvE have a much higher priority for our team. As such, these, or any campaign map changes, may not happen for a very long time.

Some changes here are firmer than others, all italicized proposals have accompanying explanations for why we are considering them, but they are the most tentative of all the proposals.

Proposed Changes:

1.   Add 1 gold chest to standardize all 1p maps at 4 gold chests.

2.   Make gold reward largely affected by whether or not the player build the existing 5th orb in the final camp.

Main Issue:
Amii Monument. It undermines the final objective, making the last orb obsolete. Removes any need to engage with the final camp in any way.

Context:
The final camp isn't hard to destroy, Amii Monument simply skips it. Additionally, the camp doesn't even need to be wiped out, it's enough to get ground presence up there and clear enough for the Orb to be built.

Fix:
Make it necessary to capture the fifth orb.

I also think that Amii Monument is chnaging the map pretty hard.
The last objective is just a nice to have / to do.

You could change the objective from “Build 5 Orbs” to “Build this 5 Orbs”
(Of course this had to be coded 😉 )

I think changing the gold reward won’t change much.
If you have an Amii Monument you must likely will use it on this map.
