bergerb
Hey, I am currently trying to find out how Dwarven Riddle exactly works. What I got so far: There are different types of groups. These groups dont seem to spawn at the same locations and also not with the same amounts: Spoiler # Bandits1 1 Shaman 4 Crossbow 1 Footmen 1 Sorceress # Bandits2 1 Hornblower 4 Footmen 3 Shaman 1 Sniper # Demons1 4 Nightcrawlers 1 Void Maw # Demons2 3 Nightcrawlers 1 Void Maw 3 Ashbone 2 Mutating Frenzy # Demons3 2 Nightcrawlers 5 Mutating Frenzy 2 Void Maw 1 Wrathgazer 2 Ashbone # Fire1 2 Emberstrike 2 Magma Hurler 2 Vulcan # Fire2 2 Emberstrike 3 Magma Hurler 3 Vulcan 1 Magma Fiend # Fire3 2 Emberstrike 2 Magma Hurler 5 Vulcan 5 Magma Fiend My tries: Spoiler 1 Wave) 4x Bandits1 * Altar * 2 Wave) 6x Demons2 * Altar because they went for my orb * 3 Wave) 6x Fire1 4 Wave) 6x Fire1 2x Fire2 Spoiler 1 Wave) 4x Bandits1 * Altar * 2 Wave) 4x Demons2 3 Wave) 6x Demons2 2x Demons3 2x Demons1 * Altar because they went for my orb * 4 Wave) 6x Fire1 5 Wave) 6x Fire1 2x Fire2 And then I died Spoiler 1 Wave) 4x Bandits1 2 Wave) 6x Bandits1 2x Bandits2 * Altar because too much * 3 Wave) 2x Demons2 4 Wave) 2x Demons3 2x Demons1 5 Wave) * Altar * Then a small group of Fire Guys came and then I won What I am wondering: Why I sometimes get more spawns than other times? And why they sometimes attack my orb and sometimes not? bergerb Dallarian likes this
LEBOVIN
Likely spawns are scripted as semi-random. As u might have noticed this applies to the Crystal order aswell. Edited December 28, 2020 by LEBOVIN

bergerb
Alright soo, Every wave-type (Easy, Advanced, Insane) has a set amount of wave-power. You have an internal wave-power-pool that gets increasingly refilled every minute. Once your 5 minute timer expires, Waves are being spawned until your wave-power-pool is empty. (One Wave-Spawn reduces the wave-power-pool by the wave-power of that wave-type) If you start the altar, your wave-power-pool is reset to a fixed value, which results in a smaller wave power depending on when you start the altar. If you start the alter after a wave, there are 5 minutes of time where you gather wave-power. If you start it seconds before a wave, you reset the wave-power and that is the reason why the wave is very weak. (Not saying that this is the best strategy, since you dont have to fight against a wave at all, if you start the altar AFTER the wave :)) The spawnpoints are random. Multiple spawns can occur at the same spawnpoint. By the way, guardians and thos heavy stonekin hammerfalls (and also the bandit lords) are despawned depending on the order of crystals, so your first crystal is the easiest getting harder with the next crystals.
