RPVE Building Spawn Bug

Sometimes when I play a random people versus environment map, I lose because of no apparent reason. However, when I would have to take a guess I think it is due to the spawning of buildings or units outside of the map.
I was able to take a screenshot (NOTE: I had to cute the left side of the picture because the forum only allows3.9MB files and the size was 4.0), but because there is nothing to see in the screenshot I would like to draw your attention to the minimap in the screenshot. There you can see that on the right side of the image the playable map runs out of the minimap screen. In that exact spot, there was a building that I could not attack by right-clicking either the building itself or its health bar. But when I destroyed it with an area of effect spell, it still didn't allow me to win. So I sent all my creatures all over the map to see if I missed something, which wasn't the case. So, I sent a wyrm of the selected wyrms in the screenshot to the place where the building was and it became unclickable and disappeared. Meanwhile, I could not do anything while the timer ran out. And the sad thing is that this was a level 9 rpve. You might doubt that because of the deck, but even if you cannot check up upon that, you can see my name (Spaentje) is in the top 15 or so players that beat a level 9 rpve this month in the ranking screen in-game. 

Another bug I found is that the fire dragon seems to have a hit/miss percentage, which wasn't in the original game either if I remember correctly, which makes the fire dragon miss sometimes, where it attacks but does 0 damage. This usually happens when I have a larger group of flying creatures, like in the game of the screenshot.

I hope my explanation was sufficient, but I will probably hear from you regardless. Thanks in advance and if there is anything I can do let me know because I am studying for my masters degree in Computer Science, even though I don't feel like I have enough knowledge to help you with the remaking of this game.

This is know bug from the game itself, it has nothing to do with server, and we can no fix it on server :(

this bug is specific for very limited amount of maps, and in theory we can remove these maps from rpve, but because it was considered too rare, we chose to ignore it.

in replay the camera angle and fog of war works bit differently and you should be able to see the building (if there was one)

There is no easy way to find these maps and just playing them, just to run to every corner and check replays would take years of playtime.

We did not do any any changes to cards yet, so if card is different it can have folowing reasons: you just misremembering (it is 10 years, and that is a long time), EA change in one of last patches, that you maybe not played.

well I still not find anyone, and it is not that no one responded, but they just go silent after I give them a simple test, so feel free to try :) maybe you found out you underestimating yourself :) or maybe you found out you really do not know enough yet, and you will know that you need to improve :) win-win?

Hey Kubik, thank you for that information. Changing the camera is something that I, indeed, tried but to no avail, unfortunately. 

Is the simple test something that you would have to send me in an e-mail, or just in your quoted post?

I also have one final question. Is it normal that when I put my laptop in standby/ sleep mode while Battleforge was still open in the forge that the game gets stuck 100% of the time when I open my laptop again? Not a huge problem, but still.

well the test is to write simple program, should fit to 1 or 2 screen sizes without trying much to make it small.

:thinking:does any game connected to the server stay connected while laptop is in sleep? Only difference I see with BF is how EA handle the disconnect, they close the socket and wait for timeout (30, or 60 seconds) without trying to reconnect, and they pop up connection lost. But all games get disconnected, and as far as I know if there is a game that even try to reconnect it is very rare exception.

Well, you are right that normally games would probably disconnect but for most games, it is different because they do not rely on a connection to stay in the main menu. Lately, I have only played Battlefield 1 and LOTR ROTWK, which didn't have this problem for me, even though I just realized those are also EA games.

And a dc would be fine because I would just relog, but now it's a tiny bit harder because it states nothing, just doesn't react and if you do not do anything it will stay up doing nothing and even if you do react it takes a minute or so to shut down without saying anything. Luckily I usually have a minute to spare :P

not going to check these other games in detail, but "Forge != menu", you have a chat window there, you can create groups, so analogy in LOTR online would be city with other players probably, and in Battlefield it would be map lobby with other players so you can chat and plan the mission.

Yea, as I said, that's logical, but then you dc to the menu and if the forge is not the menu, then there is no menu, so it also makes sense that I dc from the whole game, but the way I described how this happens is what seems weird to me. But that's ok.

Hey @Kubik,

I have another "this seems like a bug". In my added png you can see that I cannot seem to be able to upgrade sometimes. (Also I am sometimes not able to play PvP, so both work sometimes, too.)
Btw, is the player base so low because everybody is waiting for the reset, or did people lose interest?

of course it is not supposed to happen, you should be able to upgrade cards. long time ago there was a bug that the upgrade option was available even thou you have the card only in tutorial deck.

I checked in DB and it says you have Tremor already upgraded.
