Second Account or an Alternative

Hello!

This has come up before, I know, but... when will there be a way to play the game in a fresh way, starting from scratch, WHILST being able to keep your account?

I'm not gonna explain why because it is obvious how much fun it is to start from scratch, but I refuse to delete my account that I have built up over many dozens of hours.

 

Currently we are forced to thrash our main account if we want that fresh experience and I believe this is a big loss, Look at Runecape, people start new characters all the time just to get that great experience. In fact, I feel the best possible experience in this game is denied to veterans, unless we thrash our main account which is not cool. 

Double account is a no-no, fine, but at least give us an alternative.

 

I'll be back in a year or so to bitch about this again.

Dear @Jodekoek,

as we don´t allow to have an additional account, the only option is to reset your account and start from the scratch.

We know that it´s fun to play like a beginner but creating additional accounts is always a potential risk of multi-accounting including unbalanced trades that are not allowed by our rules.

To add to this, we are aware of this demand of players, and it came up in (I believe two) player surveys as well.

One of the things discussed in the past was a second "NewGame+ like" account that would prevent trading. However, details are not fleshed out yet, and its on the backlog in favor of other features and content. 

So for now, the current rules apply.

Hm yes, I don't know, maybe I am underestimating the difficulty of this, but with the enormous amount of replayability and fun added by allowing this, I have trouble understanding why it has not been implemented yet. I mean, all we need really is a mechanism to prevent trading, don't we? Seems to me like a huge boost to the game in exchange for extremely little effort. I for one would have played quite a bit more if that were an option. Currently I am not motivated enough to play. No offensive to new content, but it cannot replace the pure joy of starting from scratch. If games like Runescape and Diablo 2 did not offer the ability to start from scratch [without having to delete your other account/character.....], I would not have played those games for the many, many hundreds of hours I have over the years

 

I also feel the argument of 'just delete your main account' is unreasonable if that is on anyone's mind

 

I have no power to overrule any of the devs, and I appreciate all the content added. The Unexpected Visitors map was pretty cool I have to say. But still, nothing replaces that joy of starting from scratch, and nothing comes close to the replayability that would add to the game, and if I am very frank then I'd say I'm a bit disappointed this has been given so little priority
