nerosa
Hello, I’m the type of player who rarely writes on forums or complains publicly. I usually just play quietly and enjoy myself. But when I finally do write something, it’s because I’ve reached a point where I feel like I might not return to the game anymore. I’ve had some really great times in Battleforge over the years, especially playing with friends. But over the last year, the updates and new content seem to be more and more focused on maybe 10% of the player base, the very hardcore players. I’m honestly not sure who this new content is really aimed at. As someone who works full-time and isn’t retired yet, I just don’t have endless hours to spend grinding or trying to perfect strategies. Today, my friend and I spent basically an entire Saturday playing. Instead of feeling accomplished, we ended up frustrated and stressed, with nothing to show for it. I appreciate that you are putting in so much effort, creating new content and trying to keep the game alive. I know that everyone involved is doing this for free, in their own free time, and I truly respect that. That’s why I want to ask: who exactly is the target audience right now? Because, honestly, it doesn’t feel like it’s players like me anymore. I’m not saying I should be able to finish all the content in one session, but right now, it feels like we’re making no progress at all. It sometimes feels like players are being forced to play in a very specific way, rather than being given the freedom to play how they enjoy. On top of that, the game hasn’t been the most stable over the past six months, which adds another layer of frustration. The Nightmare category itself makes sense, but some of the new challenges feel overly restrictive and honestly a bit unreasonable especially when they dictate exactly how and with what to play. And to be completely honest, I still haven’t fully forgiven the changes made to the Ami...but that’s a different story, haha. I truly wish the best for this project and for everyone working on it. Maybe I’ll come back and check it out again in a year or so. I’m rooting for you and I really hope Battleforge continues to grow. Thank you for all the time and passion you’ve put into the game. 4esan4o95 and Bkingn like this
RadicalX
Hey, First and foremost, we’re sorry to hear that your recent experience with the seasonal system has left you feeling frustrated. The seasons are still in a beta stage and we are still trying to improve it. Missions are supposed to cover a wide span of difficulty ranges in order to make sure every player gets to progress at their own pace. Casual or time-constrained players are supposed to get quick access to our new cards, whereas veterans and very invested players can grind towards cosmetics, leaderboards and the seasonal promo card. If you miss out on content you can also obtain it at a later point in time through the relic shop. In terms of overly restrictive challenges, do you mean the unit category changes (i.e. 4.5. - Play with primordial, beast and artifact units only)? We already noticed some players felt excluded and stressed as the lower end of mission requirements ended up being overly difficult. For future missions we will include standard difficulty and there will be less bonus points for pushing beyond the intended difficulty level. Furthermore, we will change the repeatable system, so players have more freedom to chose the gamemode they enjoy while being less forced to grind in a specific way. Either way thanks for taking the time to provide some feedback. Hopefully you and your friends have a more enjoyable experience if you decide to return to the game for one of the future seasons. 4esan4o95 likes this

Hmmm, in the last year is a bit exaggerated : 1) New RPvE exp level is great for average players tired of adv++ but still not up for the old lv10. 2) Map of the day is great for them too, as is the rebirth booster. 3) For the new maps, Into the Jungle is great and fun overall for any kind of player. Heart of trouble main problem is the need for a crystal snipe strategy + T2 def strategy. After that the map is good. Only Unexpected visitors was not created with casuals in mind. 4) Change of Amii monument was needed for the long term health of the game. The new infections is made with more veteran players in mind, true, but I feel the reward you get is still good & not too hard to get if you go for an RPvE adv++ with infection. It gives a bit of a challenge to casual, like playing RPvE expert, without being too hard. Only the season is not great for casuals. 4esan4o95 likes this
