I was really looking forward to this, but it does only account for keystrokes, not mouseclicks. Any chance to further it for the latter?

    Patch #400041
We're happy to share a small but enjoyable update with you, featuring new content and bug fixes. In this update, we've added the time-limited "Bunny Brawler" Easter Achievement, which unlocks a unique cosmetic banner when you win on the new community map "The Easter Tree". Prepare to hop into action as a Skybunny in our egg-citing event, where you have to push an egg to return it to the Easter Tree as quickly as possible! We hope you appreciate these improvements and have fun with the new content!

    General Changes
Introduced a new Easter Achievement, "Bunny Brawler", which requires winning on the new community map "The Easter Tree" to unlock a unique Easter cosmetic banner. The new and existing Easter achievements will be active from now until April 15th, 2023, at 23:59 UTC. Changed the mission outcry subtitles setting to be active by default on initial game launch, and changed it for all existing players. This can be toggled off at any time in the game tab of the options menu. Changed the friend list to display only online friends by default. Added a new map script "CutsceneCameraPlayAdvanced" with identical functionality to "CutsceneCameraPlay" but the addition of a player-specific tag to exclusively display it for that player. Syntax: CutsceneCameraPlayAdvanced ({Camera = "", TargetTag = "default", Player =""}) Added various objects and units related to this year's Easter event, which can now be used by everyone for community map-making.
    General Fixes
Fixed an issue where re-rolled quests occasionally provided incorrect BFP rewards. Added an error message for empty deck imports. Resolved incorrect tooltip displays for Locked/Info/Price icons related to cosmetics. Implemented an experimental fix for the invisible Nightguard and Storm Singer issues. Addressed lighting problems with flight blocker objects.
That's all! See you in the Forge, Skybunnies!

    Greetings Skylords!
A new month; a new Community Update! It's time to bring you up to speed with everything going on in Skylords Reborn!

    • Huge Announcement

Today, we have a very special surprise for you! Many have requested Skylords to be available on other platforms besides PC. After years of hard work, we are super excited to bring Skylords to the palm of your hand!

    • Upcoming Lost Souls Changes

Recently, we shared our Stonekin Deep Dive, giving you a sneak peek at the changes coming to the faction. It is only fitting for the Lost Souls faction to mess with the timeline, resulting in their balance changes actually releasing before our Stonekin rework.
Over the past few months, we have been hard at work on the Lost Souls faction, tackling many of their issues and finding design space to improve the feel of the faction as a whole.
We have enlisted the help of @Volin and @T1421 (Ultralord) to give you an overview video of some of the changes coming to the faction. Please take a look!
We hope you are excited about these changes! Here are some of the concrete changes coming to the faction:
Lost Banestone - Lost Banestone is receiving one of the largest reworks. The building's aura have been reworked and now indefinitely extend the lifespan of friendly revenant's in a 30m radius. This makes it ideal for turning your leftover T2 units into a free defensive force. Additionally, its ability no longer prevents enemy spawns. It now damages a target enemy, and if that enemy dies during the duration, a Lost Shade revenant spawns out of its remains under the player's control. This allows Banestone to slowly grow its revenant defensive force over time.

Lost Warlord - Lost Warlord's Onslaught ability and affinities have received major changes. Onslaught no longer teleports Lost Warlord. Instead, it spawns a revenant of Lost Warlord within a 40m radius. Additionally, the Fire affinity now provides all revenants spawned from Lost Warlord a +50% damage bonus, while the Frost affinity provides the unit's revenants a strong 3000 strength Ice Shield that refreshes every 25 seconds.

Lost Spirit Ship - Lost Spirit Ship has received a number of changes to its stats, alongside a cost reduction to 230p. Most importantly, its Recycling ability is now capable of working on revenants and buildings. This synergizes strongly with revenant generating abilities such as Lost Warlord's new Onslaught ability, as well as Lost Banestone and Lost Evocation. These changes will help Lost Spirit Ship to better fulfil its role as a hybrid damage dealer and supporter in pure Lost Souls decks, while remaining useful on its own.

Ethereal Storm - In its unchanged state, Ethereal Storm remains one of the worst cards in the game with poor payoff, high requirements, and bug-riddled functionality. We are reducing the spell's requirements so that only one revenant is required in the area to achieve its full effect, doubling its charges from 8 to 16, and reducing the power costs. The spell's damage has also been substantially buffed to 100 damage/sec with new affinity effects. The Fire affinity causes enemies to receive 20% more damage, while the Frost affinity removes the damage reduction from frozen enemies in the area.

General Changes - In addition to these major reworks, we have several other buffs. Lost Priest's debuff has been increased, and it can now affect up to 10 targets with a larger cast range. Revenant's Blessing has received numerous buffs, including to its radius, affinity effects, and charges. Lost Evocation's Fire affinity now increases allied unit damage by +100%, up from +50%. Finally, the power cost of Revenant's Doom now scales by tier. The ability now costs 75% of the power cost of Tier 2 units, 65% of the power cost of Tier 3 units, and only 50% of the power cost of Tier 4 units.
    Envisioned Playstyles:
Tier 2: Lost Shades will be the primary PvE unit, which will be supported by buffs to Lost Priest and Revenant's Blessing.
Tier 3: Lost Banestone will allow the player to maintain their revenant army of Lost Shades from as a static defensive army, as well as replace losses through its new Underworld Gate ability. For easy maps, players can continue with their army of Lost Shades, but otherwise they can transition into using Lost Horrors like currently. Ethereal Storm is being buffed to work with only 1 Revenant and will provide a good AoE damage spell which is currently lacking in Lost Souls. The red affinity will amplify damage, while the blue affinity will allow the player to bypass freeze's damage reduction.
Tier 4: Lost Evocation(r) will be buffed to enable the unit-based damage playstyle of Lost Souls while the blue affinity will continue to provide strong sustain through damage reduction. Evocation and Lost Warlord's new ability will be able to be combined with Lost Spirit Ship, which can now recycle Revenants as well as buildings. This gives the player the choice between extending Revenant lifetimes or utilizing their remaining life points as fodder for LSS's Crystal ability. Lost Dragon will be useful as a support unit. We are also working to add @UltDragon's Lost Obelisk card from the card creation contest into the game, more on that later!

    • New Card Reveal: Sleet Storm

While we have shifted our focus to map-related content, there are still new cards in development, one of which we can reveal today! Take a look at the upcoming new card Sleet Storm.
Please note: We are still testing the card. While we are generally happy with it, numbers and effects might still change before release.

Sleet Storm is a new tier 3 frost spell that can fit into multiple decks, requiring only 1 frost orb. The card will be Uncommon and will not have different affinities. The effect is as follows:

    Heavy Rain
Covers an area of 15m radius in freezing rain that fetters enemies to the ground. Enemy ground units which stay in the area for 5 seconds are rooted for 15 seconds, while flying units are enchained to the ground and can no longer move. Ground units will be able to attack it while it is bound. After the effect ends, targets are immune to root and Gravity Surge respectively for 10 seconds. Lasts for 10 seconds. Reusable every 20 seconds.
While our changes to Pure Frost over a year ago have proven to be a success, one of the persistent issues we have faced is making it worthwhile to invest in only one or two Frost orbs. This card is intended to provide a reason for players to splash into a single Frost orb in exchange for receiving access to an area of effect Gravity Surge spell. In order to make the card effective even in cases where enemy flies might be lacking, we also attached a rooting effect for ground units. The effect itself synergizes perfectly with Frost's Construct, which also only requires one Frost orb. Overall, this card should provide a boost to archetypes which struggle with flying units, even ground melee decks which we have been trying to improve for more general usage in PvE.
Sleet Storm is planned to release in our next patch.

    • Art Spotlight: Sleet Storm

For the artwork of Sleet Storm, we used ArtRhino's old wallpaper as a base. You can see his wallpaper for Cold Snap below.

To utilize this base, our artist @Tweeto first aligned it in a 1:1 ratio required for card artwork. Then, he auto-filled the empty areas, corrected the colours, added hue shifts in the background, and multiple missiles to accurately depict raining, more in line with the spell's description. (1)
Afterward, Tweeto added more details to the foreground by covering it with Smokey Snow (2).

Although we liked the direction it was taking, there were still some aspects to address. Version 2 depicted the units completely frozen, which was not entirely accurate. Also, it was not clear enough that it was raining in the artwork, rather showing the impact of a spell in the distance. To address these issues, Tweeto made some additional changes, resulting in version 3. Here, only the legs of the units were frozen, indicating that the affected units could still fight.
However, the artwork still did not adequately depict the effect of the spell on flying units, a crucial element of the spell. With Gravity Surge already depicting a dragon being pulled to the ground, we thought it would be interesting to show a different model falling to its presumed doom. The final artwork version shows Spitfire caught in the rain.

    • Team Changes

We are happy to announce two new members joining our team. After they contributed so much to the game already, we decided to create a proper staff role for both @Titan and @CrazyCockerell, who have joind our team as Tech-Artist!
Both will help us out with spell animations, adjustments to models, and other visuals that come with adding and changing cards. You will already have seen some of their work in action, f.e. Wasteland Terror (CrazyCockerell) and the raven effect from the ability of Raven Archwalker (Titan). We are looking forward to their creations!

    • Contribute

We have made a name change to one of our critical roles in the project. We noticed a lot of people were not applying for the role of Balance Developer because they thought they had to have development experience, which is not the case. Additionally, players thought balance developers are the ones who adjust the balance of the game. While that is technically true, because they are the ones who adjust the card values for implementation, the Game Designers are the ones who make the actual balance decisions. To more clearly communicate what the role is about, we have changed it to "Card Implementer".
As a Card Implementer, you will be able to help out Skylords Reborn by making the needed adjustments to cards, either for balance purposes or completely new cards. This is a very important role that can really make a difference in our patching schedule, so if you are interested, please check out the position.

Skylords Reborn is a community-driven project fuelled by the passion and dedication of over 30 volunteers. We are always on the lookout for like-minded individuals. If you have a passion for gaming, programming, design, or marketing, we invite you to take a look at our open positions!

Hello again Skylords, Skyladies and other Skybeings; it's time to announce the winners!

BUT! Though Pyro took the win, it has already been decided by the winner that the Hurler Emoticon will be added to the Discord server:

Congratulations to all winners! I will send out all prizes as soon as possible. If you are interested, see below for the top replays, and separate time-lists for Ashbone Pyro and Magma Hurler.

I will send you all prizes as soon as possible through in-game mail. I'm also reserving the right to make corrections on rankings and prizes, since the huge number of names and cards makes it very likely that I made a mistake.

From the feedback and the vibes on the Discord, it seems like many enjoy this "Versus"-format very much - so I'd like to remind everyone that all CCC-content is public domain, and everybody is welcome to use the idea(s) and run something similar in a new event. Additionally, we will most likely see this return in a future CCC as well.

If you have a crappy idea for a future CCC you may share and discuss that with me, I can host your idea, or you can host your own Crappy Contest! Feel free to contact me anytime. If you want to discuss or host a non-crappy contest, contact our Event Managers @Metagross31, @Minashigo Hiko and/or @nukie. They are super supportive and will help you to organize your event!

I am always totally amazed at your dedication and ability to continually improve this game.   You guys are Awesome.
Keep up the good work.  I just wish there was a way we could get the general public to know this game exists and to have people join us in playing this game!
I keep trying but it's hard to get people interested in a game they can't learn about.   Iknow it's not your fault, but I'll keep promoting the game.
Thanks for all you do guys and Gals!  😀

    Patch #400040
We're excited to bring you a new update that addresses some recent issues. Specifically, we've tackled some bugs related to our leaderboard achievements, which now properly use the current month's data. Any rewards you may not have received were rolled out retroactively. Additionally, we've fixed the forge lags that were causing performance issues for some players. Thank you for your patience, and we hope you enjoy this update!

    General Changes
Added an option for players to re-roll the same quest multiple times. The minimum quest reward after re-rolls is now 50 BFP. If a player has excess quests, the quest with the most re-rolls will be reset to zero. The achievements "A Need For Speed" and "Gotta Go Fast" now display the seconds for best time in their tooltips. A new type filter for achievements has been added, with options "All", "One Time", and "Endless". The "Endless" checkbox has been replaced with this new filter.

    General Fixes
Leaderboard achievements now use the current month's data, rather than last month's. Last month's rewards will be granted retroactively on March 1st. The leaderboard reward period now starts at 00:00 UTC on the 1st of each month, instead of the 31st of each month. The achievement for completing rPvE quickly now completes correctly after reaching the last milestone. The context menu now appears when right-clicking on all areas of a player banner. The name tooltip for players in the leaderboard now updates correctly when changing pages. The achievement "Too Heavy to Carry" now has a description in Russian. Fixed lag in the Forge that was causing performance issues.

    Post-Patch Fixes - 31 March 2023
The promo version of Worldbreaker Gun now also counts for the "The Tools of Ultimate Destruction" achievement.

Hello Skylords, Skyladies, and other Skybeings; Welcome to CCC #10 – the tenth Crappy Community Contest!

    THE CONTEST HAS ENDED.
If you want to check out the winners, CLICK HERE. If you are just here to grab the code, there you go: CCCA-SHBO-NEHU-RLER

    What are “Crappy Community Contests”?
CCC's are meant to be small-scale contests with weird challenges, hopefully luring you away from well-trodden paths. They are small-scale on the organizers side too: usually there will be no stream, video, or event announcing the winners. What's special about these contests is a participation prize for the whole Skylords community.

    What, when, where, how?
    Ashbone Pyro vs. Magma Hurler

Both strong and revered - but which of them is the stronger card?

    This challenge is to win
the custom map "CCC#10 - Ash vs. Hurler"
on expert difficulty in the fastest time
    under severe deck limitations.

In this challenge, you are sent to win a copy of the campaign map "Crusade", using either Ashbone Pyro OR Magma Hurlers to destroy your enemies. The map provides instant access to those units and enough energy to get going right from the start.
Additionally, to said units, you are allowed to use Regrowth in your deck to quickly heal up your army. So in total, you are only using Magma Hurler + Regrowth _OR_ Ashbone Pyro + Regrowth.

Ashbone and Hurler fill a very similar role with comparable orb requirements, and we will settle once and for all what's the card better fulfilling its role. As a special feature, the winner of this challenge will get the special honour of deciding if the Official Skylords Discord will get an Ashbone or Hurler emoticon (CLICK HERE) provided by the talented @Titan. The winner may decide freely, you don't need to use Hurler in your contest entry if you want to decide for Hurler.

    How to enter:
Battleforge automatically saves a replay file of the last match you play, named autosave.pmv.  After playing the map, rename this file, so it doesn't get overwritten. You can find your replays here: Documents => Battleforge => replays.

The contest has started with the release of this post – submit your replay through Discord (DM to Kapo#0116) or the Skylords Forum (DM to @Kapo) until 12.03.2023 23:59 CET  (= 11 days time total). You can submit multiple times, but only your last entry will count. Please note that any submitted replays may be posted here in the forums.

To lessen my workload, please rename your replay to the following format: CCC10_<your-time>_<your-name>.pmv  (e.g. CCC10_5_11.23_Kapo.pmv)

    How to access the map:

    What's the prize pool?
Since this is not just a crappy contest, but a Crappy Community Contest, you may help with your participation to earn a prize for the whole community. If we reach more than 25 participants (unique players, not entries), we will unlock a Mini-Booster code for the entire Skylords community. If more than 40 participants enter, the code will be upgraded to a Booster instead of a Mini-Booster. So tell your fellow Skylords to try this challenge – it's an occasion to try something completely new, and it raises our chances to hand out a code for everybody.
Of course, the top ranking Skylords will get prizes too, sponsored by myself, the Community and the Skylords Reborn Team:
1st place               5 General Boosters + Promo Rogan Kayle + Discord Emoticon Choice (see above)
    2nd place              4 General Boosters + Nether Warp (G) + Ashbone Pyro

    Greetings Skylords!
A new month; a new Community Update! It's time to bring you up to speed with everything going on in Skylords Reborn!

    • Forge Lag and Leaderboard Achievements

We want to take a moment to address the Forge lag issue that many of our players have been experiencing. We understand that it has been causing frustration, and we're sorry for any inconvenience it has caused. Luckily, we're happy to report that we've made significant progress in resolving the issue. Because we introduced major features such as cosmetics with our latest patch, it took us some time to pinpoint the cause of the lag, but we have now identified and fixed the issue through a patch. You should now experience a smoother and more enjoyable experience in the Forge.
In addition to addressing the lag issue, we have also fixed the problems with leaderboard achievements and retroactively distributed rewards for the past month. Furthermore, we've fixed a bug that affected the display of achieved rankings for this month's leaderboard achievements. The displayed rankings now accurately reflect your current rank, so you can see how you're doing and earn rewards accordingly.
Click here to read the full patch notes.

    • Upcoming Feature: Drop Locations

Upgrading cards is a fundamental aspect of Skylords Reborn, and finding the locations of these upgrades can be challenging, especially for new players. We understand that browsing external sources like the Wiki can be a significant barrier for players to gather information. That's why we're happy to announce the upcoming feature of in-game drop locations!

With the new "View Upgrades" button added to the create-a-lobby screen, finding upgrade locations is just one click away. You can easily access the upgrade locations you need without ever leaving the game, making the process of finding the upgrades you need more straightforward and easier.

Clicking on the "View Upgrades" button will reveal a list of upgrades that can be found on the map. You can filter the list by colour, difficulty, and whether you already own the upgrades. This will help you to quickly and easily find the upgrades you need.

Moreover, we've added an upgrade location feature to the "Claim Upgrade" section of your cards. Right-click a card from your inventory, click "Upgrade", and you will now be able to see the drop location of the upgrade. This is in addition to the existing feature of purchasing the upgrade with gold. This makes it easier for you to decide whether to spend gold on an upgrade, or complete the map to try to gather it.

We are happy to introduce this feature into the game, and believe it will help our players to more easily complete their collection. We hope to include this feature in our next patch and are excited to see how it will improve the player experience in Skylords Reborn.

    • Upcoming Feature: Comparing Profiles

In our latest patch, we introduced new cosmetics and achievements, which brought a fresh set of challenges for players. We are excited to announce that we are working on a new feature – Comparing Profiles – that will allow players to compare their progress with others.

With this feature, you'll be able to right-click on another player and compare your profile with theirs. This comparison will show your achievements and progress in the game, helping you to see how you stack up against other players. We believe that this feature will encourage more players to collaborate and tackle the most challenging achievements together.
To ensure that everyone feels comfortable sharing their progress, profiles will be publicly visible by default, but players will have the option to set their profiles to private, friends-only, or group-only. This will give you control over who can see your progress, and ensure that you are only sharing your achievements with the audience you choose.

We are currently finalizing this feature and are already able to share a sneak peek of how it will look in the game:

We believe that this feature will be a great addition to the game, and we plan to include it in our next patch. We hope players are looking forward to it!

    • Behind the Scenes: Fire Wormlings

As Skylords Reborn continues to evolve, we're constantly hard at work creating new content and cards to keep the game fresh and exciting. However, as with any development process, we sometimes encounter unexpected challenges along the way.
Today, we want to take you behind the scenes of one of our recent projects that didn't go according to plan – the implementation of a new card called "Fire Wormlings", and share some of the challenges we faced.

    Fire Wormlings, Artwork by Tweeto
Designed as a squad of six small worms based on the card "Fire Worm", the Wormlings were intended to be a strong S-squad archer-unit, perfect for our upcoming defensive rPvE mode. Unfortunately, we ran into several unexpected issues during development.
For example, we encountered problems when attempting to mount the squad on walls. This was problematic, since the goal of the card in the first place was to provide additional archers to be used in late game defensive scenario's. Placing the squad on a wall would result in a buggy model with the worms' tails sticking out of the wall segment, looking quite silly in the progress:

Additionally, the death animation of the worms didn't quite look right, as it was designed for a single XL unit, rather than a squad of small S units. Facing them in combat sure looked... dramatic:
Despite these challenges, we're still committed to finding a solution that meets our standards and gives our players new enjoyable cards to play with. We're currently exploring other ways to incorporate the "Fire Wormlings" into the game, though it might be a while before you see them again.
We appreciate your patience as we work through these challenges. We know that players are eager to hear about actual upcoming content, so we would like to know: do you enjoy these behind-the-scenes at our development process, or would you prefer us sticking to announcing more concrete upcoming content? Please let us know in the comments below!

    Hello fellow Skyladies and Skylords!
It is time to get another PvP tournament rolling! Who are the strongest players out there? Who prepared some fancy tricks on the new patch? We will find out! Any player is very welcome to join, regardless of your skill level!

    Tournament Date and Stream
On Sunday 5th March starting at 14:00 p.m. CEST (Berlin time).
A live stream covering the tournament will take place on my twitch.tv channel https://www.twitch.tv/radicalx5. Streaming will start around 13:30 p.m. CEST (Berlin time). I will use the stream to communicate with the players, so be sure to join the stream to be notified of last minute updates. Everyone is welcome to hang out and watch the action as well!

The tournament brackets will be on challonge, so register and join the tournament there using the button below. Deadline will be the start of the tournament, but please sign-up in advance if possible! Reply in this thread if you have questions, I will answer them as soon as possible.

Use your Battleforge name for the tournament. If your Challonge account differs from your Battleforge account name, use the "Sign up with an alternate name" feature or change your name for the tournament in the settings. Finding your opponent will be a LOT easier this way.

    Format
The tournament will be played as a 1on1, Best of 3, double elimination tournament, meaning if you lose a set, you move to the lower bracket and can still make the finals! Grand finals will be bo5, no bracket reset, but game 1 map choice for the player coming from the winnerbracket.

    Prize Pool
I tried to place rewards so that almost every series matters, regardless whether you are playing losers bracket R1 or grand finals! The total price pool will roughly range from 40.000 bfp up to 75.000 bfp. The more players join, the more prices will be headed out. Big shoutouts to MadDoggo and MrDanilov, who helped making this possible with massive donations.
    1) Every participant will win one random card, which is at least rare! With some luck you might even catch something bigger!
    2) Every player, who wins at least a single bo3, will earn 3 boosters!*
    3) Furthermore there will be random draws for a Promo Fallen Skyelf on top of that. Even if you lose in both rounds you will be eligible for the reward as long as you played your matches.
    4) The following winner prizes will be added on top of the previously listed ones.
    Rank 1 - 7 Boosters + Promo Construct
    Rank 2  - 6 Boosters + Infect
    Rank 3 - 5 Boosters
Rank 4 (Locked until we hit 8 players) - 4 Boosters
Rank 5-8  (Locked until we hit 16 players) - 3 Boosters
Rank 9-12 (Locked until we hit 24 players) - 2 Booster
Rank 13-16 (Locked until we hit 32 players) - 1 Booster
    5) The audience reward: You can join some competition even without actively playing. There will be some quizzes during the stream and you can earn some big prices there from a 10.000 bfp pool.
*Blessing in disguise: If you end up being matched with one of the 2 highest rated (base elo) players in round 1, just playing all of your games will also make you eligible for the 3 Boosters.

Rules (read this if you want to participate!)
    • Disconnection during a game results in a default loss. If both sides agree, it is possible to have a remake.
    • Not showing up to your match after 15 minutes results in a default loss. The plan is to play a round of matches every ~30 mins.
    • After your match, go to Challonge and insert the result. That is done by clicking on your match and selecting the winner/stats. The brackets will be updated automatically.
    • The Map Pool is: Haladur, Simai, Elyon, Lajesh, Uro, Yrmia and Wazhai (beware as this not the same pool as in ranked duel!).
    • The first map to play on will be decided by the players alternately banning maps (grand finals are an exception with G1 mapchoice for the winnerbracket player). The first player to ban is decided at random (use the /roll function).
    • After that it is the loser's choice
    • The winning player (who won the previous match in the bo3) also has to lock in his deck first.
    • The brackets for the tournament will be shuffled before the tournament starts!

Looking forward to a lot of sign ups and an awesome tournament!

    Best regards,
    RadicalX
  12. Xanatoss liked a post in a topic by Majora in I'm one of the PvP Players who left and tried to come back, here are my thoughts
Just to clarify, we moved away from the old rotate-every-seven-days, to rotate-every-24 hours since this original post. This should offer a lot more flexability into finding your deck, especially considering you can combine pools and add your own cards. For example, picking the two decks that contain the most cards you want out of Pure Nature / Pure Fire / Twilight N-start / Twilight F-start and adding your own cards to the result should give you great flexibility to make your own decks. Especially considering the most expensive PvP cards are almost all found in the free PvP decks.
An example; say I want to play Pure Fire, but I prefer Disenchant Purple over Disenchant Green. Then I can select Pure Fire for the bulk of my cards, and Fire Nature, which contains disenchant purple. I can then swap those cards around.
The biggest roadblock I have found ever since I started playing PvP, was not having the other affinity Netherwarp, but that should be a big exception and not the rule of the average PvP deckbuilding experience.
On a more broader note; back when SR got revived, there was a lot of discussion about the availability of PvP cards. Some people complained that giving out free PvP decks would completely ruin the collecting part of the game, and they wanted the experience of slowly building their decks over time. Others opted to have every single card available, which (beside other reasons) would result in choice paralyzis and overwhelming new players without a guideline or framework. In the end we settled on our current system: free competitive PvP decks for every color, with the option to swap between them and add your own cards. This will put everyone on equal footing* from the start, but still allow for experimentation (like me putting Viridya in almost every single deck 😛 ).
*While its common in games these days to have the starter decks be just that; starter decks, the decks provided by SR are very competitive and used by most of the player base. Its more rare to see exceptions then you might think.
Having the rotate system was also another way to allow dedicated PvP players to have a ''point'' in collecting cards and interacting with the market. If you want 3 fully upgraded decks, you would need to collect the cards for one of them. But you should not have to play PvE for months before you can dive into PvP. The old 7-days rotation system was removed however, due to it needleslly block players from trying out decks in their first week(s).

Out of interest, I have tried to visualise this large amount of ordinal evaluations. Here are my results:
Each line contains the ratings of the guide, weighted by the categories "favourable / skill / difficult matchup" (see legend below right).
In each column, this results in the additional perspective "How does every other deck perceive the strength of this deck?"
From this, a total value can be aggregated column by column, which I then scaled, once against the deck with the highest value (Stonekin; line 13) and once against the theoretical maximum value (line 14).
Column L also describes the distance to the theoretical maximum value or "How much better would the deck have to be for each matchup to be favourable?".
For comparison, I have also included the guide ratings for the overall decks and NPEs.

Has this guide been sneakily updated?
  16. Hirooo liked a post in a topic by Xanatoss in Lyrish Knight Discussion
Lyrish Knight has excellent stat efficiency as is. In fact there was a short time in mid 2021 where slightly increased dmg was tested but deemed to oppressive, as Lyrish would have become an all around counter.
It does see pvp play though in
    - Stonekin (where it synergizes well with decks built around ice barrier, homesoil, burrower)
    - Lost Souls (synergies with Nasty Surprise and Shadow Phoenix)
    - Fire/Frost (Rallying Banner + Homesoil)
Its not a mainstay card but far from beeing useless.
  17. Xanatoss liked a post in a topic by Metagross31 in Patch #400039 - 14 January 2023
Strikers were off-meta in old EA days, but after the Thugs nerf, people figured out how broken Strikers were and there was a short period, were the whole T1 meta was focused arouns them and it was completely ridiculous.
Pure decks also received attention in PvP. Fire even got a whole new card in Burning Spears, Frost received buffs to White Rangers and Mountain Rowdy and Pure Nature received a massive overhaul with buffs/reworks to many cards, including Parasite, Parasite Swarm, Deep One, Ghostspears etc.
Furthermore, splash decks have also been hit with nerfes, e.g. Mountaineer, Ghostspears being made pure nature and Nerfs to Stonekin units such as Stone Tempest.
In fact, the team managed to give each faction more of an individual identity and more playstyle options than ever before.
The PvP balance developers in our team are also some of the best players there are and saying they never play PvP is just completely wrong.

On a personal note; it is hard to believe this is Community Update 30 already! Preparing and writing these always takes much more time than expected, but I hope its appreciated by the playerbase.
Community Updates started out as a way to keep the playerbase informed about all the work going on behind the scenes, as we are always working on more content, quality of life fixes or other ways to expand upon Skylords Reborn, even if it can take a while for a new patch to go live. All of this is done by a team of about 35 volunteers working in different departments on their evenings, weekends or holidays, alongside their job, studies and social responsibilities. It's always impressive to me to see how much we get done and are willing to invest into a fan project for no profit. Sometimes the workload can be a lot, but I am extremely grateful for the fact BattleForge was not only resurrected and I get to play it again, but I also get to work with a bunch of talented and passionate people in a great community.
Lets celebrate another year of Skylords together, and I hope to see you during the stream and in the Forge. 😄

    Greetings Skylords!
This Community Update is a few days ahead of schedule because we have two events that we don't want you to miss! From today until 2nd of November there is a special Halloween event, and on Saturday 29th October we have a PvP tournament with a participation prize! Let's get you up to date.

    • Halloween Event

The Lost Souls have altered the timeline for a special Halloween event! Instead of Encountering Twilight, Rogan Kayle finds himself in the face of new horrors. Enjoy a spooky experience on this adjusted map to celebrate Halloween, and the upcoming release of the new card "Evil Eye" with us!

You can find the full event details here. This is a temporary event which ends on 2nd of November. Check it out now to not miss out!

    • Evil Eye release and adjustments

Evil Eye will release next week in a small dedicated patch (which will not break replays).
Players participating in the Halloween event will have the chance to be rewarded with the new Twilight card the moment it comes out! After the event is over Evil Eye will also be eligible to drop from General and Twilight boosters as an uncommon card. So save your boosters till then!
Since its original reveal, we have made some adjustments to the card based on testing feedback.
The original design had a couple of issues, including a lack of splash damage, squishiness, mobility issues and increased susceptibility against crowd control. While the damage output of the card has a very high potential peak, in practice the card turned out to be hard to use and didn't add much to the Twilight faction besides a new transformation effect.
To make the card feel more rewarding to play, we gave it a new mechanic; a unit being attacked by Evil Eye explodes if it dies (thematically its insides are superheated and explode), dealing damage in a small area. Having on-enemy-death mechanics is already part of Twilight's identity (i.e. Twilight Warfare) and we found this could solve the splash issue in a more creative manner.
While this addition goes against the single-target attacker role we originally had in mind, it makes the card more fun to play and gives the player the option to either focus on a strong unit (i.e. a boss) by making use of its passive Rage ability, or micro it to benefit from Searing Sight's new on-death ability.
Lastly, we gave the card a much-needed health increase from 3300 to 3800. We are happy with how the card turned out, and hope you will enjoy playing it!

    CHANGED: Searing Sight
Casts a superheated beam that deals 200 damage to a target enemy every second. If a unit directly attacked by Evil Eye dies, its corpse explodes, spewing forth boiling liquids that deal 1000 damage in a 15m radius, up to 3000 in total.

    Transform
Evil Eye has the faction's ability "Transformation", allowing it to transform into other Twilight units. Because Evil Eye is already a strong tier 4 card, it has a special passive ability to make transforming it worthwhile.

    Conjuration
If the unit is transformed, it will restore spell card charges. The card of every Fire, Nature, and Twilight spell will be granted one more charge and will be immediately reusable. The maximum number of possible card charges for a specific card will not be exceeded.

    ADDED: Rage
Unit does increasingly more damage the longer it attacks, up to a maximum of 300% more damage, but falls back to its original damage output if it doesn't fight for 5 seconds or changes target.

    • New Card Reveal: Raven Walker

While Evil Eye releases in the coming days, there are more new cards in development. We are hard at work adding a new legendary card into the game: the infamous Raven Walker.
Raven Walker is a powerful tier 4 Legendary card, meaning only one can be summoned on the battlefield at a time (like i.e. Viridya or Ravenheart).  Besides being a strong ranged unit, Raven Walker has the ability to corrupt the very air around it, causing played out cards to backlash, dealing huge amounts of damage to both allies and enemies, including buildings! If Ravenheart or its summoned Raven Ships are nearby, Raven Walker will lose its slow passive ability and move like a general XL unit.
Please note: We are still testing the card. While we are generally happy with it, numbers and effects might still change before release.

    Slow
    Unit has Slow movement.

    Blackpowder Turret
Every 4 seconds, unit fires an explosive shot that deals 920 damage to enemies in a 10m radius around its target, up to 1380 in total. Knocks back small and medium units. Affects ground targets only.

    Corrupting Aura (100p)
Activate to cast a destructive aura of 30m radius at the target location. Every card played out within it will backlash, dealing 10 times their power cost times their orb count as area damage distributed among all hostile and friendly entities, up to 10000 in total. Lasts for 30 seconds. Reusable every 60 seconds.

    Fleet Support
If Raven Walker is within 25m radius of a Raven Ship or Ravenheart, it will lose Slow.

Some of you might be wondering why Raven Walker is a Legendary card, instead of a Bandit card. While exploring our options, we found two issues with a Bandit approach. First, we feel Bandits as a faction is currently quite complete in terms of T4 units, and this unit would not add anything interesting to the faction; it would not be much different from Construct-decks which already use double Shadow for Nether Warp.
Additionally, Raven Walker's Corrupting Aura ability works on buildings. This means it can be used even with healing spells to destroy enemies and important structures, allowing for a wide variety of decks to build around it. But because of how Corrupting Aura works, it can be stacked infinitely, which is problematic from a balance point of view. It does not come up often that we want something to be limited to a single instance, making this the perfect Legendary. It is also a good opportunity to expand the existing Legendary deck and slowly add Blight's entire raven squadron to the game.
Raven Walker is planned to release in an upcoming content patch. We are not ready to announce a release date yet.

Since Community Updates are posted on a monthly schedule, events might come and go in between Community Updates. Be sure to keep a close eye on the ingame event-tab and the forum calendar to not miss any events!

    • NEW - Official Halloween Event - until 02-11-2022
The Lost Souls have altered the timeline for this special Halloween event! Instead of Encountering Twilight, Rogan Kayle finds himself in the face of new horrors. Enjoy a spooky experience and celebrate Halloween and the release of the new card "Evil Eye" with us! More information.

    • NEW - Official PvP Tournament - 29-10-2022
On Saturday 29.10 we are hosting an official PvP tournament with prizes! The tournament starts at 14:00 p.m. CEST (Berlin time) and will also be livestreamed on our Twitch. Every player who participates will get a booster, so be sure to join even if you are inexperienced! More information.

    • FINISHED - Battle of Tactics #2: Perfectly Balanced
Ultralords latest contest has finished, and the winner reveal can be watched on Twitch. Big thanks to Ultralord for hosting this event, please let us know if you liked it! More information.

    • Host your own tournament / event
Want to host a tournament or event yourself? Please reach out to our Event Organizer, Metagross! We can help you out with various topics and are glad to discuss potential ideas. We can also sponsor the prize pool for your event. If you have a cool idea for a PvE event, or want to host a PvP tournament, please don't hesitate to reach out to us, we will gladly assist you.

    • Team changes

We are glad to announce two new members to the team behind Skylords Reborn. WaterMelonLord has joined us as a Global Moderator. Cool.

Mynoduesp has also joined the team as Quality Assurance (QA), helping with maintenance and player friendliness, for example by improving descriptions.

We also had a couple of replies to our translator roles, thank you! We could always use more translators, so if you are fluid in French, Russian or German, please consider doing some translations for us.

    • Contribute to the Project

We have opened up a new staff role: Social Media Manager. We heard multiple times that people are intimidated to join the team as a marketeer, so we split up the responsibilities and tasks, making the entry barrier a lot lower. As a Social Media Manager, you are responsible for keeping our Social Media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Reddit) up to date. Help with our Twitch and Instagram account would also be greatly appreciated.
As always, we hope you will also consider helping out the project. Please take a look at all our open positions on how you can do so.

There are also a variety of contributor roles like translator, that don't require you to join the staff, but still allow you to help out now and then. Please take a look.

    • In Conclusion

And that's it for this Community Update, thanks for reading!
As is tradition, this community update comes with a scratch code.
The code will reward you with a Lost Souls-booster: LOST-SOUL-TIME-LINE

The code is valid until December 1st, when we will bring you another Community Update.
As always, we are open to feedback, so please let us know if you have any questions, suggestions, or comments!
