  1. I think a problem with Amii spells is that the dual offensive/defensive nature of them makes it hard to decide between arcane and spell. When they are arcane, you have an offensive spell that doesn't need ground presence, when they are a spell, you have a heal/buff, that does need ground presence. Both kind of defy the usual conventions of the game.

    Would it be technically doable to have the offensive usage require ground presence, but the buff/heal usage require none?

    There are some on YouTube. Many are outdated, but some of the strats could give you an idea on what runners usually do.

    Also, I think what Cocofang meant was that its not a good idea to train an AI model to e.g. sound like Rogan Kayle's voice actor, since that might lead to copyright issues. But using a generic AI Text-to-Speech tool should be fine.

    Yes, I think it was for a booster, but only valid for a limited time (1 month probably).

    AI is quite the broad topic, so maybe give you a short overview.

    In general, some AI tool are sometimes used for specific tasks. For example, when translating the game into German, French and Russian, a first draft is always done with some AI translation tool and then our human translators work over that draft and review it to ensure correctness and consistency with existing texts. For art, I don't know if our artists use it to get inspiration, but generally all the art (card artworks, models and textures, loading screens etc.) is done by humans.

    When it comes to voicelines, official campaign maps use voicelines recorded by actual voiceactors from our community, partly because it allows for higher quality and partly because the copyright situation of training AI on existing voicelines is unclear.

    For community maps, there have been ones, which use AI voicelines, most notably "Thirsty Journey Home". To my knowledge, using AI voicelines for community maps is fine.

    thanks for wanting to support the project.
    The Patreon page has been put on halt indefinitely for now, since enough money was raised to keep the servers running for a long time.

    If you want to support the project in other means, feel free to check out how you can help the team in keeping the project running over here.

    Alternatively, you can do creative work, such as creating your own community maps to share with the playerbase (See here for a detailed map making guide), do some artwork, develop fun or useful tools for players, write guides in the forums etc.

    But you can obviously just play the game. Having an active playerbase that enjoys playing is already a great contribution to the success of the project 🙂

    sadly, we are not planning to translate the game to new languages.
    Adding new languages would not only require every bit of text in the game to be translated (which is A LOT of text), but it would also requrie every new feature, card, map, etc. that will get added in the future to be translated as well. This is just not something the Skylords team can feasibly handle in the near future.

  8. Before the first new maps were published to the game, there was a voting for German, French and Russian players where they could give their oppinion on whether the English voicelines should be used when playing in other languages and the majority voted for English voicelines.

    It is often as as easy as that. There are also explanation videos of some speedruns and difficult seasonal challenges on Youtube, but even with them as a guide, performing the same thing yourself is not always that easy, for example because the execution is really tight and small mistakes add up to large differences in the long run.

    To be honest, I don't know, but it could be the case. It's been a long time since I unlocked all maps.
    Beating the map on standard is comparatively easy though, so best bet is to try and beat it on standard first and see if it works then.

    According to SMJ, the English version uses the card's Fortress category to describe the life threshold ability "To the Last!" in every sentence. In German, instead of using the classification Fortress/"Festung", it used the card type building/"Gebäude" for the explanation in every sentence.

    This causes issues with the later parts of the description due to grammatical gender (building in German is neutral, but Fortress female). The sentences each start with neutral gender ("das Gebäude"), but later parts of the explanation use female gender ("fügt sie").

    To fix this, either change both instances of "das Gebäude" to "die Festung", or change the pronouns from "sie" to "es".

    Thanks for the report! It should probably be "die Festung" indeed, similar to Church of Negation for example.

  11. Happy new year everyone!

    The new card looks really cool, but also quite strong! 220 damage is quite the burst on a first attack and 600hp is beyond eruption+1 hit, even for things like Skyfire drake. I guess the 600hp has been chosen to make it vulnerable to an Eruption kill when dazed, right?
    I'm really interested to see how it will turn out in practice!

  12. Devourer sounds awesome! Could potentially be hella strong when lots of them are in place. Btw, does the passive get buffed by Unholy Hero?

    Would be cool, if Shadow T4 had a not-so-expensive XL unit besides Necrofury (which luckily got buffed in the past), but I guess ultra rare makes sense for it.
