    Bonjour mate,

when your game crashes it will not put a replay in the replay folder but in the "Diag" folder in documents, together with a crashlog (hopefully)

You find you crashdata here (I guess you can relate tho it is german, if not hit me up and I try to find this screenshot in French or English)

There you will also find there the files "crashdata.mdmp" and "_log_proxy_latest.log", those two files are what is usually needed to identify the problems.
The "movie.pmv" you find in that folder is the replay of the latest crashed game.

All this will not help on this issue, as I guess you played a game afterwards, but maybe the information can be helpful next time.

    Cheers

Never seen a late game scenario where fire is not anywhere between viable and A-tier. Where do you struggle with pure fire after T3? Perhaps I can help

Well, I suppose the counter argument to that is that this is how it's always been up to this point and it hasn't really worked out in a way that players are being on-boarded to make the jump from 9s to 10s.
On the contrary, the achievement that required people to play 10s was in part received negatively because it disrupted the veteran experience by pushing unprepared players into lobbies for 10s. There they were mostly perceived as a nuisance that has to be carried. In addition, taking the extra step and asking for a mentor isn't something most people will generally do.
So it's probably fair to say that the difficulty curve has to instead be smoothed out so that players can more or less help themselves.

I'm not sure everyone understands that some of those decisions are not questions of "better" or "worse", but more of a general vision of how the game should work and function, so about game design. There are several valid options, especially for needed or not-needed nerfs, which take the game in a slightly different direction. You may or may not agree if this is the correct vision for the game, but if anyone would want to engage in a productive discussion should beef up their abstraction level to understand that a slight shifting of the meta serves just a different vision of the game.
You may still disagree if this is the right direction for the game, but saying some changes or nerfs make "the game worse" with a close-minded laser focus on how the game is "supposed to be", maybe mixed in with some nostalgia for oldschool BattleForge, is not very helpful.
What I do is just throw feedback at the devs as productive as I can, and I'm far from happy with every change. Still, to quote Toggy again, what we got right now is by far "the best BattleForge has ever existed".

Thanks @Majora for your explanation. I was also there when the servers were shut down, so I know the feeling, i think its also nice for the devs to look back and think about what you've achieved so far. The game is currently imo in the best state it has ever been in. Very inspiring what you guys are doing, looking forward to everything you have planned.
Oh and of course, thanks for everything!

Can't talk for the whole team but:

Love for the game. Me and most of us were there when the original servers were down, and I was pretty devastated about it, having wonderful memories of playing it with my brother, ex girlfriend and friends. Its quite rare (especially for an online-only game) to be revived, so I personally count my blessing to be able to enjoy it once more.

Potential. This game is super unique. I have not encountered anything like it. While it has some issues because of this (how on earth do you market this?) I still fully believe in what this game has to offer, and still hold on to hope that sometimes it will be discovered by the right group of people.

New players. We still have an influx of new players coming in, either returning from the EA days, or finding the game as its own thing. This is not a case of a group of people slowly dwindling, there are people coming in and going out.

Non-active players. While active players go up and down, there is still a large number of players with warm feelings towards Skylords Reborn, as we tend to see with, f.e. the Yearly Feedback Survey. As was mentioned in this topic already, we also see numbers go down a bit during summer time in general. I also don't expect people to continue playing daily for 2+ years straight. There is only so much content to experience and replay. But most of them keep a close eye on the project and return for big patches or other exciting changes. Leading to:

Upcoming new Campaign Maps. When I joined the team, one of my first pushes was for new cards to enter development. The team achieved bringing back BattleForge into a playable state, but if we wanted it to not face the same fate, we had to keep improving on it, and the easiest way to communicate new stuff is new cards. But new cards only do so much for time spend playing the game; we need people to actually have new content to play. Achievements, rPvE Nature and Fire and the upcoming 9.5 difficulty are good examples of this (and previously mentioned Map Modifiers will also do a ton for replayability) . But the biggest ask from the Community has been New Campaign Maps. We still have this up our sleeve, and I fully expect a lot of those non-active players will return to take a look once we start releasing them. Non-active players need a hook to come back, and I expect this will do the trick.

The Community. Skylords Reborn has an amazing community. Its a bit of a cliché for a Community Manager to say this is the best community to be in, but honestly, the absolute majority of our players are amazing! When things get rough, I sometimes take a look at the kind words our players mention in f.e. the Survey. At the end of the day, everyone is grateful for all the hours we pour into this, and its important to remember this.
Though I will admit, sometimes I wish some players remember a bit more that we do this in our free time as well 😅 There have been a couple of moments where some of our teammembers, myself included, got very demotivated by the way certain players expressed their disagreement. So to everyone reading, if I could ask for a single favor to keep the motivation up for both me and the team; please keep in mind we are all volunteers. We do not get paid, yet we show up day after day, working on the game while we have a lot of things to deal with, both in Skylords Reborn and outside of it. Most of us combine the hours we pour into this game with a job, study, kids, marriage, etc, to the point where we don't even have time to play the game we put so much hours in as much as we would like. We love the game, and want to see it succeed, and for that we absolutely want to hear your feedback, we create this game for our players after all. But be constructive, and be kind. It really goes a long way for our motivation and the health of the project.
Thank you for being a part of this game. ❤️

In any other game a beginner wouldn't join a pro or semi pro game, if you did and asked these players to instruct you beforehand you would get kicked out of the lobby. The first thing they would say is learn basics first before rejoining. rPvE 10 is not a beginner mode that you can just 'try', it is the hardest mode in the game and extremely unforgiving. rPvE 10 requires a high deck level, a semi-meta or meta deck so you can hold your own and not be a liability to your team. If you would like to try the rPvE 10 then there is the 1p option but to join a 4p rPvE 10 and expect to be carried to get your boosters is being selfish. Veteran 10s players are actually being bullied by new players when we say they need to learn the basics before joining 10s.

Hello Skylords, Skyladies and other Skybeings; and welcome to CCC #11 – the eleventh Crappy Community Contest!

    What are “Crappy Community Contests”?
CCC's are meant to be small-scale contests with weird challenges, hopefully luring you away from well-trodden paths. They are small-scale on the organizers side too: there will be no stream, video, or event announcing the winners. What's special about these contests is a participation price for the whole Skylords community.

    What, when, where, how?

While CCC's are now well known for varying gameplay contests, every once in a while it is time to do something for developing the community, like the Screenshot Contest, Contest-Contest or Card Idea contest (which even became official). And, to be honest, I have identified a real shame for our community – let's try to fix this together:

    Meme-fy BattleForge

You see a barren land, void of any options.

This challenge is to submit an animated GIF
to get the community some BattleForge options for Discord.

On our Discord there is a wide range of memes used, but there is not a single BattleForge or Skylords Reborn option on the GIF-Keyboard to chose from – literally NOTHING. I hope many of you agree that our beloved game has some meme-worthy content. You are allowed to enter with up to two different ideas.
The only limitation placed on your ideas is that it must be an ANIMATION, so it fits the database (Tenor) that Discord is using. Here are some examples of what anyone could easily come up with (thanks to @Ultralord for helping with those!):

By entering, you are giving permission to upload and use your entry on Tenor, as well as the SR Team using it on Social Media. Your entries will be judged by a well-known three-person jury: @Dutchy, @Majora and @Ultralord. The jurors will receive the entries from me in an anonymized format.
If you submit two entries, you will receive only the highest tier prize. The contest has started with the release of this post – submit your entry through Discord (DM to Kapo#0116) or the Skylords Forum (DM to @Kapo) until 03.07.2023 23:59 CEST  (= 8 days time total). As already said, you may submit up to two entries.

    Inspiration and tips
Some information that you might find helpful:

    What's the price pool?
Since this is not just a Crappy Contest, but a Crappy Community Contest, you may help with your participation to earn a price for the whole Community. If we reach more than 15 participants (unique players, not entries), we will unlock a Mini-Booster code for the entire Skylords Community. So tell your fellow Skylords to submit and idea – it's an occasion to contribute to future events, and it raises our chances to hand out a code for everybody.
Of course, the best ideas will get prices too, split up into a grand prize, as well as Gold and Silver tier winners.
Platinum Tier                  Swamp Drake Promo for the best entry
Gold Tier                         2 Boosters (limited to a maximum of 5 Gold tier winners)
Silver Tier                        1 Booster (limited to a maximum of 10 Silver tier winners)

    Sponsors
If one or more mighty Skylord(s) decides to sponsor this event, please contact me. You can make a "Kapo's Choice" type of award and select an extra-winner yourself, or task the Jury to curate something like "best LOL meme" or "best angry meme", or whatever you like.
The following prices have been sponsored so far:
Skylords Team          General Boosters (up to x20), Community Booster Code
    @Kapo                Swamp Drake Promo

    Conclusion
Skylords Reborn is a community project, so we as a community should be involved in the way we can – this is an opportunity for it.
Good luck, I hope you enjoy spinning some ideas, and I'm hyped for what GIFs you guys will come up with!

    Hello Skyladies and Skylords,
Welcome to the ninth official PvE event!

    Quick Overview:
Map                          - King of the Giants Difficulty                   - Advanced Date                          - 10:30 CET 17.06.2023 until 23:59 CET 26.06.2023 Prizes                        - Boosters Winner reveal           - Via a stream
    Rules and Goals:
There are THREE goals, each goal has its own rankings. Your position in these rankings added together will give your final score for the overall rankings. The three goals rankings will be ranked on how fast you complete them, they must be completed in a single replay.
You can use Ultralord's website to verify your replays, the rankings are also on his website and are live the whole event!
    • Goal 1: Begin building the 12 orbs (T1 does not count), your time will be recorded once the 12th orb's construction begins. You do not need to complete the orbs construction.
    • Goal 2: Completely destroy the 6 walls. The time will be recorded once the final segment of the final wall is destroyed.
    • Goal 3: Activate each of the Amii spell traps (Freeze/Explosion/Heal/Teleporter). The time will be recorded once you have activated each of them at least once.
Your overall score will be calculated by adding up your ranking postion on these 3 ranking boards. If you are rank 1 in goal 1, rank 3 in goal 2 and rank 5 in goal 3 then your score will be 9. In the case of ties, your overall time across the 3 goals will be added together, and the fastest time will win.
    FAQ:
I will update the below as questions are asked throughout the event.
    How can I participate?

Everyone with an ingame account can participate in the event, there is no need to sign up separately.

Any Digital audio workstation (DAW) will do the job. Reaper and audacity are great free ones if you are on windows. Reaper is more flexible and has much more to offer compared to audacity. As for some recording tips - make sure you have a decent microphone, try to reduce room noise as much as possible (echo/reverbs), you can try to make a blanket fort around the mic that is like cheapest DIY option. Cheers and have fun recording! 😄

  14. Volin liked a post in a topic by RadicalX in Reset leaderboards
    1) There was a global reset for speedrun times in September 2022. There are forum posts in the PvE section featuring records before and after the reset. You can also find the times from 2013.
    2) The main reason for a full ladder reset would be drastic changes to the meta and a fundamental shift in strategy on a global scale. In September 2022 Decomposer, Batariel and Nightguard all received major nerfs. This changes the strategic approach on at least 10 campaign maps (probably more, I only count the strategies I know for sure), with every rPvE run also being strongly affected.
To give an example: Prior to September 2022, rPvE 10 4p speedruns were played with 2-3 carries (depends on pathing) on Batariel decks, with the remaining players sacrificing their energy pool into decmposers after the early game. After the changes this pattern has changed to featuring different viable decks depending on a players energy level. Bloodhorn is the go-to deck, but Ember and various dps spell support decks that push a single Batariel player are viable alternatives depending on map conditions.
The last patch removed the possibility for the SoW player to start with double shadow, which did enable a more carry oriented late game role due to access to Ressource Booster. This was not always the optimal play as you trade this for a slower SoW timing slightly weakening the remaining players. The other players are entirely unaffected from this change, the SoW player is losing one scaling option in the opening while still having access to multiple meta tools later on. This is not fundamentally changing the way the game is played here. Same can be said about BG, which delays certain spawnpoints by a few seconds, but every other playpattern stays identical.
    3) Generally, yes. With the exception of Slavemaster (looter vs Twilight Emitter was removed two patches ago -> requires a new strategy) any record post ladder reset should be achievable. Overall it is very difficult to gauge the true impact on all time records per patch as every update features numerous card changes (including mostly buffs and QoL adjustments), player skill and activity varies, cumulative knowledge aquistions have a major impact on map completion times and there is just a general lack of data to make more precise assessments. So unless there will be a major meta update changing strategies entirely, we will not do global resets based on assumptions about theoretical best cleartimes.

  23. Volin liked a post in a topic by Maze in SMJ - Community Decks Database
    Greetings fellow Skyfolk,
Now that the Community Decks Database has reached a passable state with the most recent updates, I wanted to create a separate post specifically for this feature.

You can find the Community Decks Database here:
    https://smj.cards/community/decks
    It is currently possible to:
Look up decks other users created (filter for different settings, like map and orbs order) Copy the deck code and import the deck directly ingame with the command " /importdeck [code] " Vote on decks that you liked or disliked (make it easier for new players to find enjoyable decks) See if the creator is a veteran or if veterans liked the deck Create your own decks directly on the website or import it from the code you got when using the " /exportdeck " command ingame Share your decks and set specific maps and other options that apply for the deck (even featured community maps can be selected) Set the complexity of the deck to show if they are beginner friendly or for veterans only, as well as other additional tags NEW: Add a short description of up to 500 characters (some characters are not allowed, to prevent abuse) Add a forum link to a post to explain in detail how the deck works, what to note when using the deck, or which cards can be swapped for others NEW: Edit your deck, change the maps it is intended for or update the tags Verify your account with your ingame name to show who created the decks Request to become a veteran player NEW: Veteran players are able to flag decks for inappropriate descriptions, this will cause the deck to not be able to be updated or deleted anymore until the issue has been reviewed and resolved with appropriate actions
Veteran Players are able to take some actions to flag a deck, the actions include:
Flag a deck as "Outdated", for example when it's no longer playable due to orb requirement changes to the used cards.
("Outdated" tag is displayed if at least 3 veterans flagged the deck as such.) Remove the "Updated" tag from decks that were edited, if the deck still fits the rating, to prevent abusing the editing feature.
("Updated" tag is removed if at least 3 veterans flagged the tag for removal.) NEW: Flag a deck for "Inappropriate Description", this includes everything that is also not allowed on the forum. Once flagged this way, you are not able to remove your flag and the description will not be displayed for non-veterans anymore.
("Inappropriate Description" tag is added if at least 1 veteran flagged the deck as such.)
    Please note:
If you want to vote on decks or create and share your own decks, you will need to login with your discord account If you want to have your ingame name displayed for the decks you created, you can verify your account and your ingame name will be added If you want to become a veteran, the community and other veterans will need to agree, after which you will be added as a veteran
IMPORTANT: Deck descriptions have been a feature that has repeatedly been requested by multiple people, so please behave in what you write in the free text area or the feature will have to be rethought/removed again, if it is being abused too much. I am relying on your best behavior with this. 🙂

You could also use this topic to reply with a comment to provide additional information for your deck, like YouTube links to videos that show your deck in action and don't want to create a separate topic just for your deck, to then add the link to your comment to the deck when adding it to the database. 🙂

I hope you like it and I would like to hear your opinion and receive feedback, as it is still work in progress and there is room for improvements. 🙂
    Thanks and enjoy 😉

    update:
    - updated orb requirements and affinities of changed cards (all other card values haven't been updated yet)
    - added outdated indicator to median/mean/min/max prices to be able to immediately see if the values are outdated (if they were last updated more than 24h ago) as the script that updates the notable prices hasn't been automated yet
    - added option to add a short description to the community decks with specific parameters and a related veteran action:
descriptions can be up to 500 characters long for now, the only allowed characters aside from letters and numbers are: _ - + > ' , ; . : ! ? ( ) and new line character (if you need a specific additional character for your description, feel free to suggest it) IMPORTANT FOR VETERANS: veterans have a new action that allows them to flag a deck for having an inappropriate description which is then reviewed. these flags are not reversible by veterans and will result in appropriate actions being taken for the deck creator and for false flagging. decks that have been flagged by at least 1 veteran this way can't be edited or deleted until they have been reviewed and the problem resolved.
Deck descriptions have been a repeatedly requested feature by multiple people, so please behave in what you write in the free text area or the feature will have to be rethought/removed again, if it is being abused too much. I am relying on your best behavior. 🙂

    update:
    - added deck complexity to the community deck creation
    - added new additional deck tags, currently only "Creative/Fun" (feel free to suggest more additional deck tags)
    - added functionality to edit decks (you can edit and delete your decks here: https://smj.cards/account/community/decks)
    - added actions that veterans can take for decks, those include: (suggest more, if think others are necessary)
flag deck as "Outdated", for example when it's not playable anymore due to orb requirement changes to cards
("Outdated" flag is displayed if at least 3 veterans flagged the deck as such.) remove "Updated" flags from decks that were edited, if the deck still fits the rating, to prevent editing abuse
("Updated" flag is removed if at least 3 veterans flagged the tag for removal.)
