i did all maps on expert and made the decks which i always wanted to make, then i gathered and opened boosters until i pulled my first promo ever...now i deinstalled and will wait for new updates. i just deinstalled because i realized i was wasting too much time with the game and can not afford to do so at the present time and i basically did everything i ever wanted to before they shut it down back then. my personal endgame was building meme-decks and using them to help random people with their completions. If you are not speedrunning then you can even do stuff like play sunken temple - centered decks and do expert maps with them xD i will be coming back at some point..propable triggered once i see some interesting new updates ^^

Every time I see someone running it on expert, I commonly see the same issue. They just have poor decks designed for it. So I'm writing a guide on how to do it since there isn't any.
Map 2, can be one of the easiest maps if players know what they're doing with the right card setup. So I'm going to break it down.
The first thing you will need is a proper deck. I will say there is THREE must have cards.
Coldsnap + Frostbite (any color), this is to help control Viridia when she spawns in so a light blade can get into position and undaze itself (also it will save you from bad players.)
Light blade: Light blade is essential here as Coldsnap, Paralyze, Sleep all suffer from the hard CC spam has diminishing returns (anything that stops the unit from doing anything.), taunt and slow are minor CC's and are not effected by it. But when she's taunted and doesn't have a direct attack... she will literally just stand there and the second it's off you can just do it again.
Blue/Black or Black/Blue is the two best deck types for this mode. Because you get access to the "BEST" Defensive tower in the game, Lost launcher (Blue) IMO all you really need to push is Master Archers/Forsaken/Nox Troopers, I prefer Master archers due to their natural bulk means you they can tank the towers a bit better. To give you an idea, this was the lanes I was covering my last win. With this deck (I'm the red lines). Yes this deck will literally allow you to control half the map.
    https://allcards.skylords.eu/cards.html?d=TWFwIDIgQXNjZW5zaW9uPjI4NHwyMzl8NjZ8MjY4fDI2MHwyNTl8NTd8MTc2fDE1Nnw2MXw=

But now to the map guide
    Phase 1: Expansion and Setup
Generally depending on the position of 5/6/7/8 you will have some minor strategy changes.
Position 7, it is generally better to get the middle point ASAP, as the attack waves to orb 1/2 will take the same path way (but also means dealing with double attacks. The Mobs also at orb 2 wont do anything while you deal with the linked tower. If someone doesn't have frost glyph, this is the best spot for em. But generally all you will need to do for your middle point is get around 5-6 MA's and charge the link tower to kill one and IMMEDIATELY retreat after it's destruction back to your first orb, have your MA's run behind the orb and pick off the werewolves x 2 attack wave, followed by maulers x 2. With the second linked tower down do the same with retreating if you're not confident in your abilities or taking out the group of guys you've frosted with werewolves first.
Once the primal defender (which is stuck in sky watch mode) is dead, just take the orb and wells, defend it til you can drop around 3 (4 for position 7's case) that will attack and deal with every spawn forever with no repair. For Position 5/6/8, you can take a side orb as your first as you will need to defend both no matter what. This is where the power of lost launchers blue come in. The blues, 3 of them will defend every orb you have without fail from avengers/werewolves/maulers. The best thing is, this will work for Orb 3/4, you can claim every orb with just Master archers (if you want to swap to Darkelf assassins once you have orb 2 if you need to resupply your attack force, be my guest. Try to expand as much as you can (honestly taking your side orbs makes other maps easier as you can offer them support. Also I dont recommend upgrading past orb 2, but do get the wells (and defend them with 3 blue lost launchers.)
For the archer caves, 2 cannon towers will generally do the trick, if it's close to a ledge have a blue lost launcher guarding the cannon tower so it's the first to get smacked by an
    Phase 2: Viridia is here!
This isn't that hard, spawn in a lightblade, freeze and slow her til he's unphased and just taunt her (can if she's close to the portal taunt->frost rune if she's close to the portal and want to play safe. This is the safest thing I've seen so far, aggressors are good but I've also seen aggressors chuck her into the portal, where this is dummy proof. If she gets a portal it's a lost, but it's not hard with the deck I've given you because... with lost launchers blue never have to be repaired with good positioning and you can just focus on that mini map and the V. She will try 3 times instead of the 2 from advanced.
    Phase 3: Expand
Just do what you do in phase 1, upgrade to orb 3. If anyone is struggling help your buddies get their side orbs. (which has caches to help map 1/3.)
Phase 3: Viridia 2 Electric Boogaloo
Same as phase 2 again, she will take a bit longer to despawn, but by now it should be a joke since you have half the map under control
Phase 4: Expand and get orb 4
Phase 5: Viridia 3, this is the third time with the spawn of her and should be the final one
Phase 6: Viridia boss fight, it's not hard stun lock them with Construct and focus dps one by one. Get anything + constructs to keep her knocked down, It's an easy GG at that point. The only thing is it is possible for phase 5 and 6 to be happening at the same time I learned from the match above. Make sure she doesn't get to the portal.

    Recommended Upgraded cards
    Master Archers upgrade 3 + Charge 3
Lost Launchers Upgrade 3 + Charge 3 (really just for the charges)
    Coldsnap Upgrade 2
    Frost Bite upgrade 3 + charge 3

    Card Pick reasons
    Units
Master Archers: about 10 of them can take all of the additional orbs with proper use of frost glyph.
Light Blade: Pay 25 to stop viridia from moving for 15 seconds
Construct: Phase 6 becomes a joke
Lost Ship/Dragon: Helps cover for allies with shitty defences (like blue and green that game), but not really needed
    Buildings
Lost Launcher Blue: indestructable to their attack waves, will stop the air/werewolves/archers/avengers with 3 of them in a group. Will never need to be repaired and therefore eco friendly.
Lost Launcher Red: Covered by blue, in ledge areas where the melee come out to take em out quicker (used in a few specialized cases, but nice to have as one blue + 1 red does around the same work as 3 blue.)
    Cannon Tower: Cover archers caves.
    Spells
Frost Glyph: Cheap freeze to take out towers to get your wells.
Cold Snap: Longer freeze for Viridia so you can get to her while your allies mess up an easy map I spent most of it waiting for the V markers to show up. It's not needed but nice.
Frost bite: Slow, rotate with freezes as it's a light CC.
    Total Cost
    Master Archers x 3 = 45BFP Total
    Light Blade = 3 BFP
    Construct = 130 BFP
    Lost Dragon = 15BFP / Ship = 400 BFP
    Lost Launcher Blue 21 x 4 = 84 BFP
Lost Launcher Red = 3 BFP
    Cannon Tower = 3 BFP
    Frost Bite x 4 = 12 BFP
Glyph of Frost = 50 BFP
    Cold Snap = 300 BFP
Cheap version (Lost Dragon purple + no Coldsnap) = 345 BFP
Middle range version (No lost ship) = 645 BFP
Expensive cover your dumb allies who have issues defending edition: 1045 BFP.)
But yes that's right one day 40 min grind and one daily = the cheap version which can clear this map no issue

Also a paid message sponsored by the lost soul players.
GREEN PLAYERS STOP TRYING TO ROOT/PIG VIRIDIA IT DOES NOTHING! SLEEP IS ALMOST JUST AS BAD!
Replay, is in to give you an idea pretty much the people who did the leg work of the mission was light blue and light green (aka me). Blue was there "there", and green had a defense but no viridia control and luckily had Light blue to light blade them.
    Deck:
Master archers to push + defend
Frost sorcerer / mage are nice as one sorcerer can shield the archer taking the tower hits.
Imperials U3 are nice at holding back maulers from your ranged units.
Soul Splicer (Green) Is nice early on to hold points with minimal units (4 MA's or 2 MA's + 2 Imperials)
But really dropping 4 lost launcher (blue) is the most optimal plan as it keeps you safe from air and the constantly spawning aggressors.
Dropping cannon towers are preferable around archers spawns (2 should keep them perm in check), if beside air instead switch off to blue lost launchers.
Construct makes it so if it's on the viridia boss fight she cant cast spells since she's getting knocked down.

Made some self challenge to clear the 2nd base with pure decks from every starting position (!)
A lil trick which can help -> Sometimes we delay picking up the 2nd orb to have more time until the mini wave reaches our base
    Pure Fire:
Bottom right is the easiest to clear with fire thanks to skyfire drakes, same as with Shadow Phoenix/ Mana wing so this replay is not added
    Pure Frost:
Same as above, just with war eagles, so not added
    Pure Nature:
Bottom left is already covered how to clear many times on this forum by Krumpli or the Speedrun Youtube so it is not added
    Pure shadow:
Since Forsaken + Shadow Phoenixes is the most common strategy it is very much works the same so I do not made replicate replays
Please note these replays can be improved, mostly played with randoms so the outcome was never guaranteed
The purpose of these replays is to show the possibility of many ways to clear the 2nd bases (hardest part) , whatever deck you like to play
    Hope it helps

Have been experimenting on this map in the last couple of days (we even played some with MrKrumpli) and seems like most people have problems with the top-left position
Even when other lanes manage to get the timing, top-left usually fails clearing the 2nd camp, not the mention the 3rd one
This usually brings an unfain towerdefense turtle mode for this position while waiting on others to be helped out and carried
I practiced it a bit and managed to clear even the 3rd camp from top-left with ~1:30 time left with minor changes in Krumpli's strategy
    Replay below if anyone interested

    ...have a w/l ratio of below 60%
    ...feel like they are rookies
are allowed to enter the tournament. I will recheck some of the entries personally.
If you have doubt wether you are allowed into the tournament either ask me via discord or ingame.

    Rules!
-No bugabuse, cheating or insulting the other players. Penalties may vary from a warning to default loss.
-Disconnection during a game results in a default loss. If both sides agree it is possible to have a remake.
-Not showing up to your match after 15 minutes results in a default loss. The plan is to play a round of matches every ~30 mins.
-After your match, go to Challonge and insert the result. That is done by clicking on your match and selecting the winner/stats . The brackets will be updated automatically.
    -The Map Pool is:
1st round: Haladur, 2nd round: Simai, 3rd round: Wazhai, 4th: Elyon, 5th: Lajesh, 6th: Uro and 7th: Yrmia (same pool as in ranked duel). The first match of the round will be played on the fixed map, then it is losers choice.  The winning player (who won the last match in this bo3) also has to lock in his deck first.
-The brackets for the tournament will be shuffled before the tournament starts.
-Use your account name for the tournament. If your Challonge account differs from your Battleforge account name use the "Sign up with an alternate name" feature or change your name for the tournament in the settings. Finding your opponent will be a LOT easier this way. If you do not register for the tournament with your Battleforge name we cannot find you for the prizes!

Reply in this thread if you have questions, I will check it out later. Also recheck this thread before the tournament starts, there might be changes to rules, format, mods or prizepool.

Addendum Encounters with Twilight - I played this on expert with just the starter cards with deck level 0 (first map I played after reset - first to do it on expert):
The spawn on the southeast is the key to complete the 2nd part of the map because the Whisperers and Vileblood respawn there. I pulled in the Vileblood and Twilight whsiperers to let Rogan handle them while i sneaked past with 4 Firestalkers and ran the bottom path to the spawn camp with the Abomination. CC the L and XL units at the spawn camp while attacking the camp on max range with fire stalkers. I think I used 1-2 Surge of Light to keep them alive long enough. Afterwards you can clear everything with windweavers or whatever unit you prefer. Vileblood and Whisperers are taken care of and you can clear the big camp with the Abomination after clearing t3. Swampdrakes sleep in combination with Curse of Oink and a couple Magma Hurlers are enough if you lure them out and take out the 2 L-units you pull first before focusing your attention on the Abomination.
    Addendum Behind Enemy Lines:
The map becomes much easier if you refrain from killing the spawn buildings at your t2 and t3 as killing those triggers stronger waves. You can see this in a replay from @RadicalX: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHd7xVPuIdc
    Addendum Crusade:
Defense in the South - You can trap incomes if you do not kill the archers completely and only kill the melee units. You can achieve this easiest with Mark of the Keeper and taking the wall. The Archers will start running around but never attack anything (make sure to kill them once all the camps are down, otherwise the endwave doesnt trigger) You can also do this with Nomads as demonstrated here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g52hVdIKqq4
Frost you can use Warden's Sigil, Shadow you can decimate the archers as shown in video above and just place 2 Embalmer's Shrine or somthing similar. It takes a while to take them down.

    Addendum Sunbridge:
Even if you use the Gate trick on the right side at around 6 minutes an archer will come through and if it gets to your monument on the very right side on the map (if you already build it), it will pull the camp on top of it. You can prevent this by placing a unit at the gate to take care of that archer.
Also you can use t1 towers to outrange archers at the wall. Phase tower with their relocation is especially good. Termite hill works wonders on those as well. If you start nature t1 you can use hurricane to blow archers of the walls and make the clear way easier. Furthermore the wall breaks down after you destroyed exactly half of the segments. You can use this to stay out of range of 1 half of the archers on the wall, if you positions yourself properly.

The longer the gate is open within its 30 second cycle before the 2nd shrine is defeated the stronger the income will be that attacks you. The side that is attacked depends on which side the gate was last open when the last shrine was destroyed.
    Addendum  - Convoy:
After the Grinder teleports in the middle path you can shoot him with Rifle Cultists' ability from the outside to end the map a bit earlier.
You can also use undead army at the beginning of the map and then scythe fiends ability to get in that area and then prevent walkers from advancing with placing buildings at the bottom at the bottom at the path. Left player can then shoot with Rifle Cultists from the outside to destroy the shrine after capturing t4. The walker block essentially eliminates any time limit you have on the map and makes this map pretty much unloseable.

Overall a good initial overview for maps that should help newer players to get a idea on what is going on on these maps and to avoid replaying map starts over and over again or be stuck in them for 40 minutes+.
I think especially the Nightmare maps are very bothersome if you do not understand whats going on and what to do (tbf they are bothersome even if you know).
Looking forward for what you have for some of the 4 player maps.

    Fellow Skylords and Cute Beings,
As second person to ever complete “Among the Old Gods” achievement in Battleforge, I started using title “The Old God of Battleships”. As we learn from King of the World himself, best way of starting a cult is being friendly and helpful. Therefore I wish you will enjoy this read, aimed at providing you with both comprehensive and powerful knowledge.

    Introduction

The thread is aimed at players who struggle with Among the Old Gods. In order to complete the achievement, you have to win all campaign missions on expert difficulty. You will be rewarded generously in 8 General Boosters. Many maps have different exploits and tricks that may make the map trivial – however, as they feel unfair, require particular cards and may be removed by developers, they are not covered here.
Deck choice usually is irrelevant when it comes to expert difficulty. The important aspect is to specialise your deck for each map, and prepare it for particular threats you may encounter. On my first playthrough I have completed the campaign with  Pure Frost deck, as it is my favourite faction. It was before first balance patch, so back then all factions were weaker and had lower amount of viable cards. Pure Fire still may struggle with the achievement, nonetheless, overall you should be able to finish the campaign with your favourite PvE faction. There is no need to sacrifice fun for playing meta, as there is no “the only correct way” – the only limits are in your head.

    Approach is important
Expert is not meant to be easy.
    Try, lose, improve.
This is how humans become better – by making mistakes and learning from them. Thanks to the guide, you can learn on my mistakes and significantly decrease amount of necessary tries to complete the achievement. Pay attention to which enemies you will face, what is their position, weak points and how to exploit the situation. Check map topography to quickly reach Power Wells and intercept enemy attacks. Learn attack timings and understand triggers. [1] Be prepared and do not leave anything to a chance. You will come across problems – enemy attack too strong to deal with, restricted access to cards or monuments, mechanics that doesn’t work like you expected.

[1]. Trigger is a condition that starts a particular event. For example in Behind Enemy Lines if you destroy any of spawners that are nearby your Tier 2 locations, enemy waves will become significantly stronger and use specialised units. Keeping spawners alive allows you to explore the map and prepare defence in a more relieved way.

    Explore. Adapt. Overcome.
There are many cards in Battleforge that are neglected and overlooked, as they are not as flexible as the most popular choices. If someone told me I would be using Icefang Raptor to complete Ocean, or pre-rework Sunken Temple to win Soultree with Pure Nature, I would laugh, as those cards seemed worthless to me. I was wrong, niche cards are awesome in niche situations. When you will start looking for solutions, you will notice those little gems in your collection.
If you are looking for something cheap and solid, you may want to check @Weak1ings ‘s deck, as he was the first person to complete Among the Old Gods, he used an affordable flexible meta deck.

    Weak1ings' deck:

Make sure to use what you already have to forge your path to victory, possibly in an unique way. Amii Monument may make many missions easier – however, it is easy to get lazy because of it, and majority of maps are difficult due to situations that happen before you reach Tier 3.
