Each day have a map which is incentivised to be run that day, by either pure random or some logic like, Monday-Tuesday; solo player map, Wednesday/Thursday; Duo player Map, Fridya/Saturday; Four player Map and then Sunday 12 player Map.
The incentive can be anything like (not limited to); bounty, a pack, BFP per run or a new meter of 100bfp for the daily map kind of like how reserve works
Idea I had seeing the map is rarely looking for campaign maps but always 2+ looking for RPvE runs regardless of time of day
    Suggestions/Thoughts on this?

    Greetings Skylords!

It's been three weeks since our last community update so it's time to bring you up to speed with everything going on in Skylords Reborn!

As we mentioned in an earlier community update, new cards are in development. Last time we showed you our first new card: Coat of Protection. We are very excited to show you the second one today!
    New Card Reveal:
Please note: We are still testing the card. While we are generally happy about it and feel comfortable revealing it, numbers and effects might still change. We hope to release this card before the end of the year and will share more information at a later date.

Joining Windhunters in the sky, Wasteland Wing is an extremely strong tier 4 dragon. With strong stats combined with Life Steal, this new tool will be a great incentive for playing Bandits. It will be uncommon and come in two affinities, each having a different effect for its Cleanse ability. Let's break down the card.
    Breath of Embers
Every 3 seconds, unit spews fiery sand out that deals 630/660/690/720 damage to enemies in a 35m radius around its target, up to 945/990/1035/1080 in total. Knocks back small and medium units.

    Infused Cleanse (Fire-affinity only)
    Cost: 110 Power - Cast Range: 30m
Activate to immediately remove all debuffs from up to 5 friendly units in a 15m radius. Will also revert all status effects like Freeze or Paralyze. Additionally, affected units deal 100% increased siege damage for 10 seconds. Reusable every 30 seconds
    Tainted Cleanse (Shadow-affinity only)
    Cost: 110 Power -  Cast Range: 30m
Activate to immediately remove all debuffs from all units in a 15m radius. Will also revert all status effects like Freeze or Paralyze. Additionally, affected units will be immune to all major debuffs for 10 seconds. Reusable every 30 seconds.
    Life Stealer
15% of the damage dealt by the unit will be added to its life points.

Wasteland Wing is a Pure Bandits alternative to Tortugun for those players who enjoy the Bandits playstyle and aesthetics but who do not want to interact with Tortugun's unique hunger mechanics. With an area-of-effect disenchant ability it will enable the typical Bandits playstyle of hard to pin down agents of destruction.
    Artwork Reveal:
The artwork (and ability icon) has been designed by our talented artist Tweeto, and we gladly show it off in all its glory:

Just like with Coat of Protection, a lot of time and changes went into this artwork. We thought it would be cool to show you some sketches to show the progress. A big thanks to Tweeto for constantly accepting feedback and improving the artwork. We are really happy with the final result, and hope you are too!

    Vote for Cardnames
Just like with Coat of Protection, we need your suggestions for the final cardname. During testing we came up with the cardname ''Wasteland Wing'', and abilities named ''Infused Cleanse'' and ''Tainted Cleanse''. However, part of our promise to our Patreons is to let them help with naming new cards based on suggestions from the community. For this, we will need your help!
Please reply in the comments below what you feel is the perfect cardname for this card, and how you would name the ability. Please note that Infused and Tainted are part of the affinity name, and will not be changed.

    Example:
    Name: Wasteland Wing
    Ability: Tainted/Infused Cleanse
Please only suggest one name. We will collect all the suggestions and let our Avatar-of-Frost-tier (and higher) patreons vote for the final name.

    Voice-actors Update
Last Community Update we opened up applications for voice-acting the new cards. We are very happy with the results, and want to thank everyone for taking the time and effort to apply! We have made a selection of fitting voice-actors and will now work with them for the final script. If you applied but did not get a reply to your e-mail, please reach out to me.
We hope you are looking forward to them bringing the new cards alive!

    Updated 2vs2 Maps (test server)
We have released new versions of the PvP 2vs2 maps to the test server. Now we need your help to test them! Please go on the test server and try out these maps and share your feedback with us. The sooner we have good feedback, the sooner we can bring them to the live server (and create observer versions!). Toggy mentioned multiple times already that he will host another 2vs2 tournament if we have observer maps, so if you enjoy 2vs2, please test them out!
You can find the latest list of map changes on the Wiki.

    Promo Vote Results
As mentioned in our last community update, we plan to add a new promo to the game. The vote was locked behind Juggernaut-tier patreon, but we got permission to make it a community vote instead! Even though Sunderer was ahead on our Facebook poll, after collecting all the votes we have a clear winner: the next promo to be added to the game will be Mana Wing.
We received both negative and positive feedback about our plans to add new promo cards. While some people were hyped about the upcoming new content, some felt the choice of promos was unfair, and others said more than one promo card should be added. We would like to remind you again that we are restricted in both time-resources and fitting artwork. We want to add cool stuff, but everything we do, no matter how small, will take time away from other areas. Currently our top priority is getting the new cards to you as soon as possible. We are always open for feedback, but please keep this in mind when voicing your opinions.
We will share the final look and how you will be able to collect the new promo in a later update.

    Tournaments & Events
    NEW: Skylords Open - 14.11.2021

NEW: Official PvE Contest#3 Skylords Raid - Until 27.11.2021
We hope you didn't have a fallout with your team after the rPvE contest, because you will need a team for our latest event! For this event, show your skills on not one, but three different maps! There are prizes for just participation, so check out the rules and how to apply and have fun!

FINISHED: Official 4p rPvE Contest#1 The Bandit Hunt
Our rPvE contest has concluded! We hope you had a lot of fun, and we were glad to see some new players trying on rPvE. We will definitely do this kind of event again, so keep an eye out for that. The winners were announced on Twitch, which you can rewatch here. A big thanks to Volin for helping us with this event!

    • Host your own event / tournament
Want to host a tournament or event? Please reach out to our Event Organizer Hiko to have your event prizes sponsored by us. If you have a cool idea for a PvE event, or want to host a PvP tournament, please don't hesitate to reach out to us, we will gladly assist you.

New Team Members / Open Positions
We have added two new global mods to the team; a warm welcome to Lontzek and Parity! Together with the rest of the mod-team they will make sure everything is running smooth.

We are also happy to add Progamer001 to our team. If you are active on our discord, you might have seen some of his alternative color schemes for units and buildings. He will help us with creating bosses for our rPvE modes and help out with our new cards.

We are in dire need of Balance Developers!
As mentioned in our last Community Update, we are in dire need of Balance Developers. If we do not get new members, we will not be able to release new cards in the future. Balancing will also have to be put on hold and/or drastically reduced.
If you want to help, we would love to have you on our team. Below are two roles highlighted, but you can find more information, desired traits and all our open positions here. If you are unsure if you qualify, please reach out and have a talk!

    Open Position - Balance Developer
As a balance developer you are responsible to implement design changes to in-game cards using our internal balancing tool. In other words, you are responsible to implement new cards and changes to existing cards. These implementation requests can come from balance updates and content patches from our Faction Designers but also from the official Skylords Reborn map making team (for example, new bosses for a new map). An integral part of this role is learning our internal balancing tool, as that is the tool that allows us to perform all these changes. You are by no means required to have any programming experience. More information.
    Open Position - Map Artist
As a map artist you are responsible to polish the aesthetics of a map. This includes texture the map, add decorations and add different effects and sounds. In other words, responsible for making the map look and feel good. More Information.

    In Conclusion
We hope you liked this Community Update, thanks for reading!
As is tradition, this community update comes with a scratch code. But this time you get to choose!
One code will reward you with a mini-booster, the other will give you 100BFP.

Once you select one, the other one will be blocked. Choose wisely!
    100 bfp: COMM-UNIT-YNEW-S14P
    Mini booster: COMM-UNIT-YNEW-S14B
The code is valid till December 3rd.
We will update you again on December 4th. We will reveal another new card, so you don't want to miss it!
As always, we are open to feedback so please let us know!

    Hype!!!
  10. Dutchy liked a post in a topic by Majora in Barrier to Entry
    Hey there, and welcome back!

There is quite a lot to dive into, so ill try to touch on a few subjects shortly, before this too becomes an info dump.
Before I start, here is the link to the Wiki, which also contains tons of information.
    PvP
It is true that the PvP scene is currently quite small and thus has a established meta and most players know what they are doing. I would advice to get a bit more comfortable with the game in general before diving into PvP, but there are a few resources I would like to point out:
    - You can get free, fully upgraded, level 120 decks for playing PvP. Those can only be used in the PvP mode, but it prevents you from having to grind or playing an uneven match. You can find them by clicking the sword on the top right, and you can grab 2 and change them every week if you feel they dont fit your playstyle.
    - Here is a (slightly outdated but still helpfull) pvp guide. I already requested this one to get updated in the future, but it should still help you get started.
    - There is a PvP tournament this Sunday that gets streamed live. Feel free to drop in the Twitch chat, watch a few matches and ask questions. Everyone is always willing to help out new players. Also, there was a Rookie tournament not that long ago, where the best players were not allowed to join. There are definitly more people like you who are interested in PvP but fear the entry barrier. You can rewatch the tournament here on our official Twitch. Lastly, every wednesday Toggy hosts the BattleForge fightclub, where you can watch or play some matches with commentary and support. By watching these for a couple of weeks, I quickly improved myself, and its always fun to hang out.
    PvE
The best advice I can give here is: just go with whatever you enjoy. By playing each day, completing maps and daily quests/archievements, you will quickly find yourself gathering a nice collection. If you have no clue what to play, just pick a card or unit you like or thinks looks cool, and build arround it. Nothing is set in stone, and you can always trade or sell your cards if you change your mind. For playing the game on standard or advanced, you can mostly get arround with basic decks anyway. Otherwise you can quickly find yourself spending hours reading up on the hundreds of cards, and I can imagine that can be quite tedious.

    General Questions
    Some of the specific questions you have are a bit unclear (there are quite a bit of numbers on a card, which one are you referring? :P) but ill try to explain it with a mockup;

    Affinity
The outline of another color you are referring to is an affinity.
Affinity was added to cards from the expansions of the game, essentially making two card types out of each card design and ingame graphics. Each affinity type has separate Abilities, and consequently the utility and value of each affinity of the same card can vary considerably (or not matter at all).
    For example:

Nether Warp comes in two versions, a green affinity and a frost affinity. This has nothing to do with the actual orbs needed to cast it, its just a flavor thing.
Both spells create a teleport zone from A to B, but the Green affinity heals the units that pass through, while the blue affinity slows the units that pass through. This results in the blue version being used more defensively, while the green one gets played more aggresively.
Some cards have affinities that drasticly change the use of a card, while others are completely neglectable because they change something about the card that wasnt used anyway. Regardless, it can explain why some versions of cards are way more expansive on the market than their other affinity.
What are the differences in playstyles between the factions and which ones should I combine?
This is very personal, but here are some general tips and descriptions of the factions:
Frost - Defensive, less micro intensive, units dont have a lot of abilities, easy to understand for newer players
Nature - Control, healing, great archers, good spells and healing can prevent you from being punished for being out of position. Shaman is a very important card though, and he is quite expensive.
Fire - Aggresive, more attack than defence, damage spells, decent for starters (just blow stuff up) but you lack defensive spells. I know a lot of new players do enjoy fire, and it can still work quite well.
Shadow - High Risk, High Reward. Most shadow units use more complicated game mechanics, like sacrificing units, or using corpses. Also, most shadow cards need upgrades (see info below) to be effective. Hence, I would not advice to start with shadow (even though its my favourite faction).
The unit combinations mostly lean into what you could expect of combining two of the above. The factions that are the least supported are Fire/Frost (dont have unique cards) and Nature/Shadow (only one unique card), but even they can work very well together (I completed the campaign with Nature/Shadow myself back in the day).

    Upgrades
Each card can be upgraded 3 times. Sometimes this can be a simple stat buff, but sometimes they gain completely new abilities (mostly Shadow cards). Because of this they are crucial for PvP, and helpfull for PvE. The idea is you slowly upgrade your deck once you reach the harder campaign maps and get more cards. You get upgrades by beating maps, or buying them with gold.

Well, I guess that still ended up being a lot of info, but I hope it answered most of your questions. Lastly, every day you can buy a booster with a discount if you played for 45 minutes. Be sure to do so! If you have no clue what to play yet, Id advice to not bother too much with the market yet, and just see what you get from boosters: play what you like, sell what you dont.
Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

Sorry, Never played in EA times. I did watch my cousin play a couple of times. I remember the Giant Wyrm.

  14. Dutchy liked a post in a topic by Metagross31 in What card do you get the strongest BattleForge vibe from?
When I first started, two friends of mine brought me to BF. They told me about all the factions and I was like "holy crap, fire sounds so cool", so for me the thematic fire cards do it.
Especially Fire Worm. The reason is, that one of my friends gave me some starting cards (they bought some BFP, while I did not), including a wildfire. I sold that wildfire and bought some other cards from it, sold them again and so on until I was able to buy a Fire Worm, which I remember as the strongest card in my deck back then.
Another one is the Promo Jugger, since it has always been - and still is - like that holy grail, super rare, super strong, super cool looking card, which I already knew, that I would never be able to get my hands on.
Additionally some of the power houses my friends played are also super nostalgic to me - especially Avatar of Frost, Deepcoil Worm and Wheel of Gifts.

There are cards that always give me a strong nostalgia trip when I see them (on the wiki, in the booklet, ingame, etc.)
I'm curious if anyone else has a strong connection to an art, or perhaps a memory of the first BF card they ever saw.
For me it's Parasite Swarm. It was the card I was most intrigued by when I just got the game. The game came with 3000 bfp back then, and it might even have been my first purchase from those points. Everytime I see it (for example, today in the cardlist), I get a trip down memory lane and a happy battleforge-is-awesome-feeling 😄

    Format
The tournament will be played as a 1on1 best of 3 double elimination tournament, grand finals will be best of 5, no reset.
The grand finalist coming from the winnerbracket will start with a win (1-0) already.

    Prize Pool! (subject to change)

    2nd place - 3 Booster packs
    3rd place - 2 Booster pack
    4th-8th place  - 1 Booster pack

Big thanks to the devs who sponsor the booster packs!

    Organisation and sign-up
The tournament brackets will be on Challonge, so register and join the tournament there.
Please use your in game account name to make communication and finding your enemy easier.

The streaming channel that will be covering the tournament is DasToggy on twitch.tv.
In case of problems contact me or one of my mods via Discord, Battleforge or on twitch.
    Twitch mods: LynnTaki

    Rules (read this!)
    • The Map Pool is: 1st round: Haladur, 2nd round: Simai, 3rd: Elyon, 4th: Lajesh, 5th: Uro and 6th: Yrmia (same pool as in ranked duel).
The first match of the round will be played on the fixed map, then it is losers choice. The winning player (who won the previous match in the bo3) also has to lock in his deck first.
    • Disconnection during a game results in a default loss. If both sides agree it is possible to have a remake.
    • Not showing up to your match after 15 minutes results in a default loss. The plan is to play a round of matches every ~30 mins.
    • After your match, go to Challonge and insert the result. That is done by clicking on your match and selecting the winner/stats . The brackets will be updated automatically.
    • The brackets for the tournament will be shuffled before the tournament starts.
    • Use your Battleforge name for the tournament. If your Challonge account differs from your Battleforge account name use the "Sign up with an alternate name" feature or change your name for the tournament in the settings. Finding your opponent will be a LOT easier this way.

    Hey everyone!
As mentioned in our last community update, we plan to add a new promo to the game. The vote was locked behind Juggernaut-tier patreon, but we got permission to make it a community vote instead!
We have 5 options (restricted by fitting artwork we have available) and want you to vote for your favorite! Moloch and Skyelf Commander will receive buffs in the future, regardless of the vote.
You can vote on our Social Media:
    - Facebook
    - Reddit
    - Discord

Note: The images below are mock-ups and might receive changes to fit with the new promo-look.

We will share the results and how you will be able to collect the new promo in a later update.
  22. Dutchy liked a post in a topic by Majora in What is your favourite campaign map and why?
After the topic of your favorite card, I (as a player, not community manager) am interested in your favorite map.
For me, Treasure Fleet will always have a special place in my heart. I remember playing it at the place of my ex, while she was at work on Saturdays. I wanted to beat it with a mono shadow deck (I think this was before Renegade Edition came out) and without any kind of map abuse. Took me soooo long, but really was worth it. I also have.. mixed.. memories of trying to beat Slave Master during the summer with her, with the added difficulty that after a while her laptop would overheat so we had to hurry or get disconnected.
Present day, Im just a big fan of playing maps the way they were intended. I think Bad Harvest is quite fun. The only map I really dont like is Oracle, since the ending can be really punishing.
Share your cool stories or memories below!
