Imo the card doesn't belong into fire at all.
It is extremely defensive and slow. That's something I'd expect from a frost or stonekin card, but not from a T4 mono fire card.
And yes, it needs a change. 350 Energy for a creature that moves slow, cant even attack air and also gets CCd / stuck in pathfinding is terrible. Even the stats aren't that great.

Imo if it stays Fire, it should lose the "Slow" affix, and/or make it immune to CC, and not be affected by collision/slow. That way it would maybe find a place in PvE. The unit is just so painful to watch. It never actually gets to attack. Why would anyone spend 350 energy on it when Batariel exists?
Again, it also doesn't thematically fit the fire faction. It is much better suited as a mono T4 frost card. Maybe give it a paint job and put it into the frost/stonekin faction.
Edit: If it stays fire, it needs its own distinctive role. It cannot compete with Batariel as a melee unit. It's lazy, but I'd just give it 10000 attack and 3000 HP or something. Fire doesn't have a T4 artillery unit, which would actually thematically fit the fire faction.
So a siege turtle with 10k attack and 100% Siege dmg would be cool. With another damage type, it would just become a red tortugun. Or maybe make it a semi-caster that spawns lava fields with every attack or something. A T4 artillery mono fire unit would be pretty great. And finally have a unit break the 10000 damage mark (keeping it 350 energy cost)

    Patch #400029
    Greetings Skylords, Skyladies, and Skyfolks,

this is a minor update that contains mostly behind the scenes changes that were required for our maintenance we had on the 22nd of May. It also contains a new feature that allows players to see all of the boosters they have opened in the past!

    General fixes
Fixed postgame screen (after a match) showing a negative BFP gain occasionally.  Players will no longer receive a warning in the middle of their screen that their in-game mailbox is full while in-game. Improved numerous tooltips in the in-game Rankings page. General changes
The selected auction duration will not reset to its default after placing the auction. Instead it will stay at the last selected auction duration. All Snapjaws Promo are now tradeable. They still cannot be obtained from boosters. Changed the `Complete Quests` achievement to reward an All-Editions booster every 20 completed quests. Removed the `Latest Booster` button and replaced it with a `History` button that will open a window showing the complete history of opened boosters for that player.
  3. Cryswar liked a post in a topic by Danol in Choosing Daily Missions - Tired of the chores
Removing daily quests is the easiest way to accomplish that. So, if you're not, I'm asking: Please kill the frustrating, pointless daylies - I've never seen a single game that got better by including daylies and I hate them with a passion for exactly the reasons OP mentioned. Either I adapt my playstyle to the daylies, then I'm not having fun, or I don't, then I'm wasting BFP. Except the situations where a daily asks me to do what I'd do anyways. There is no good choice to be made here, just the lesser of two evils. In the best case the daylies are not having any influence on my games at all. To me, that looks like bad game design.
Additionally, daylies can be harmful for completely unrelated players - I, for example, am not playing the campaign much (except for a few missions I happen to like), so I got very little experience and just suck. Whenever I attempt to do a multiplayer campaign map for a daily, someone is stuck with an inexperienced player that doesn't know what to do.
Just increase the BFP pool for regular playtime accordingly.
If you absolutely want to have daylies, make them share the same BFP pool then the regular playtime - this way you could choose how to farm BFP, with daylies as an option to speed up the process, but not strictly neccessary.

    Greetings Skylords!

It's been two weeks since our first community update so it's time to bring you up to speed with everything going on in Skylords Reborn!
PvP Balance Patch 2 (Patch 400028)
We released a patch filled with balance changes this week. You can check out the detailed patch notes on the Wiki.
Some 1vs1 maps have also been changed (no more offensive walling!) and are now added to ranked play as well.
In the meantime, we are already setting our sights on Balance Patch 3. You can check out the upcoming changes in the document attached to this post. Those changes will hit the test server much earlier than the previous ones. This is an intended move as it allows us to work with more iterations to make sure a lot of fine tuning can be done. This patch is focused more on buffs, and many of the changes will bring some new strategies into the Forge, that require more testing compared to the previous process. On top of that this will also be an opportunity for you to test the changes a little bit longer as well to provide more playtesting feedback, that we can use to reevaluate our proposals. To join the discussion, please check out the balance discord.

    PvE: State of PvE

This is the second Balance Patch focused on mostly PvP changes. We understand this might give the impression PvE is less important for us. We would like to take a bit of time to assure you this is not the case and give you an idea of things that are currently being worked on.
First of all, you can expect our Design Philosphy to be shared soon. This document was a bit delayed, but we think it's important to have a clear vision of the PvE scene going forward so everyone knows what to expect and give a better explanation of why we do the things we do.
Of course you can always share your personal feedback in the balance discord, even if we don't respond immediately, all the feedback is important to us and is discussed. We are also planning to restructure the balance discord, you will hear more on that subject soon.
PvE is a lot harder to balance than PvP, because the playerbase is very divided on what they consider fun, fair, or part of the coregame. We know not everyone will agree with all the changes we will make in the future. We encourage you to provide feedback, but please do so in a constructed manner. We are all fans of the game, and we want what's best for it.
    PvE: Patch
Speaking of changes, there is also a PvE patch coming up. Just like with our PvP patches, we will test those changes out on the Test Server first and make adjustments where necessary. You can find all the upcoming changes in the document attached to this post.

    PvE: In Development
Some cool things are also coming to PvE in the future. They are currently in various stages of development.
    - Defensive Random PvE mode
Similar to a 4 player Random PvE, but instead of attacking you are defending against random enemies. We hope this will provide a fun twist to the rPvE scene.

    - Random PvE presets rework
We are reworking existing rPvE factions and adding the 4 basic elements as factions. This means in the future you might go up against Harvesters and Fire Dragons.
    - Polishing Battle Arena
Some of you might already be familiar with Battle Arena, a fun PvP map where you get one random unit and have to score points by killing the other units. Once your unit dies, you get a new one and move slowly up the tiers.
    - New World Map Overview
Still in its early stages, but we are also considering adjusting the world map to include popular PvE community maps. There are some great gems hidden in the community map section and there might be great content waiting for you out there already that you have never discovered.
Most of those things are not ready to go public yet, and we will use the community updates to keep you up to date on their progress. We found it important to share them with you already to show we have definitely not forgotten the PvE scene. We are always in need of map testers, map artists and map creators however, so if you want to help, please check out our open positions.

    Public Test Server
Some of you might not be aware of how easy it is to play on the test server, so here is a quick reminder. To get to the test server, all you have to do is start "LauncherTest.exe" in you Battleforge folder. On the test server you can check out the new changes that are currently being tested and provide feedback on the balancing discord. To get back to the official server, all you have to do is launch the normal launcher again.

    Upcoming Tournaments

    • Skylords Open 7
This sunday (9th of May) you can again battle it out in the Skylords Open #7. A 1vs1 community tournament hosted by Toggy, open for everyone, and with prices!
    • Community Challenge 3
There is also a PvE contest going on until the 31th of May. Try to complete the community map King's Ridge as fast as you can in the Community Challange #3 for a chance to win some prices!
There are also some new events in the works, which brings us to the next point:

    New Team Members
We are happy to announce two new team members have joined the Skylords Reborn team.
First up is Minashigo Hiko, our new Event Organiser. He will be the go-to person for people who want to organize an event in Skylords Reborn. Got a cool PvE contest idea or do you want to host a PvP tournament so Toggy can actually play instead of host? Please contact Hiko and he will help you make it happen! Hiko is also hard at work at creating fun events for you to play, so look forward to that as well.
We would like to point out that the event organizer role is not exclusive. If you want to help organizing events, you can still apply for this position as well.
We are also very excited to have MarcoMaar join the team as our new Client Developer. He will be responsible for adding new features, modifying user interfaces, or fixing bugs in our game client. Up until recently, he was working on a new ingame section, where you are able to see all of your opened boosters. Below, you can see a sneak peek of this new feature

We are still looking for new team members however! For example, we currently have a lack of Discord Moderators, which actually prevents us from being very active with our marketing (in the current state we would risk being overrun with new players without moderators). If you want to see Skylords Reborn succeed, please take a look at how you can help. We will also added new positions: backend web developer, frontend web developer and C# developer.

    List of Discord channels
Skylords Reborn is a big project, and it can be tricky to keep track of everything that is going on. To help you with this we have started these very community updates, but if you want to be right there where the discussions are, discord is the place to be. Below you can find a complete list of all Skylords Reborn discords and their roles. If a discord channel is missing, please reach out to @Majora. We also created a #discord channel in our official server where you can also find the list of servers.

    Greetings Skylords!
We are happy to bring you the first official community update, a biweekly update to give you an overview of whats happening (and going to happen) in Skylords Reborn. We have heard your desire for communication loud and clear, and as your fresh Community Manager, I will do my best to deliver.
The goal of these updates is to give you an idea of the things going on behind the scenes and cool stuff that you might have missed. Not every update will have the same content, but we hope to provide you with some cool details and insights.
Without further ado, lets get to it!
    Balance Patch #2
What better way to start than with a new patch announcement! Balance Patch #2 is hitting the live servers soon, bringing with it a lot of PvP balance changes and map updates. We have decided to wait with the release until Toggy's PvE contest is finished to not cause issues for the contenders. You can expect the patch to go live at the beginning of May. The patch notes will be posted soon.
    In-game Tournament tab
Once logged in, you will now be greeted with a tab showing upcoming tournaments and events in Skylords Reborn. Full event details will still be posted on the forums, but we hope this will help tournament organisers with spotlighting their events.

We would like to take this moment to point out we are still looking for an Event Manager. If you are up for the task, please apply! Check our Open Staff Positions for more information.
    Upcoming Community Tournaments
There is a 1v1 tournament hosted by Toggy this saturday. Because we had to delay the patch, it will be played on the test-server.

Toggy is also giving PvE players a challenge with his speedrunning contest of the map Ocean.

Both tournaments will reward booster prices.
    PvE
Don't worry PvE players, you are not forgotten. We are not ready to bring you a PvE patch just yet, but rest assured that a lot of work is put into improving the PvE experience.
There have been a lot of heated arguments in the forum and the discord about what the ideal PvE scene should look like. We will release a philosophy document in the near future explaining our stance on certain topics and what you can expect from the balance team going forward. We cant share any details yet, but WindHunter will soon be in touch with you with more information.
    Balance Discord
Most of you might be aware, but alongside the regular discord we have a discord specifically focused on balancing PvE and PvP. You are encouraged to discuss potential changes and ideas with us here.
    Card Description Project
You might have noticed that cards in Battleforge aren't always very consistent or clear. A group of volunteers has started the huge undertaking to fix this. Not only are they clearing up sentences and details for every single card, they are also adding relevant hidden information like gender (girl-power anyone?), abilities, movement speed, a better reflection of a cards true damage output and much much more. Here is an example:

*please note this is a mockup and not final yet
With hundreds of cards this might take a while before you see this in game, but I wanted to mention it already. I'm truly baffled by all the hours people put into this project behind the scene. If you want to help out with this project, they are currently in need of a French translator. If you know anyone, please reach out to them via the Description Changes Discord.
    Map Testers
Some new map testers are helping us out with the project as well. They have already been a great help and we are grateful for their time. Thank you cswordmaster, LEBOVIM, LegitNacho, Liorans, Mister_Mv, Perthos and Wanky [CH][Ger].
    New Team Members
To those who missed the announcements, we added two new members to the team in the past weeks.
Going forward I will be your community manager and will be in charge of keeping the community updated on the latest information, while also making sure suggestions and concerns from the community reach the developers.
Tweeto has also joined the team as a 2D artist. He has already created two beautiful artworks for Amii Phantom and a possible new Amii card. We will have a staff meeting soon to get him underway to create even more awesome artwork. If you are interested in seeing how his artwork comes to live, we can also share that kind of information in the future.

We still have some open positions on our team to help with the project. We are looking for map artists, designers, discord moderators and more. Please have a look at the Open Staff Positions for more open positions and information on how to apply!
    Twitter and Facebook
Are you following us on Twitter and Facebook already? They have been inactive for a while, but I have heard from a very reliable source that going over there might be.. rewarding for you. Expect us to use those channels to keep you updated from now on as well.
    In conclusion
And that's it for your very first Community Update! Just to set expectations: we definitely wont be releasing a new patch with every update and some weeks will have more news than others.
In future updates, we would also like to take a moment to give some information on what we can and can't do in the game, and what a realistic flow of content will be. As you might have noticed, we have added quite a few members to the team lately and in the past week I have been absolutely blown away by all the work that is being done behind the scenes. I look forward to sharing more with you in the future.
What do you guys think of this first biweekly status update? Is there something you would want to see covered more? We are open to feedback so please let us know.

  6. shroomion liked a post in a topic by Cryswar in Automatic activation button/toggle for Shrine of War when it's ready to use
If it was interesting macro, or any kind of choice was involved (ex. do I spend 100 power to activate the global), then it'd be worth the macro. Meaningful macro/micro adds to the game positively, giving you more to do and more opportunities to git gud.
As is, it's just pointless busywork. 2 Shrines and you just have permanent uptime, there's no choice, nothing interesting about it, no meaningful decisions to make about when to activate it.
It's not a big deal, control groups let me keep my Shrine of Memory or Cultist Masters or whatever up if no one else is doing void manipulation, but some kinda autocast toggle, or doubling the cost but making them work like Wheel of Gifts in terms of just being something you 'turn on' after building, would be a nice QoL change.
  7. Cryswar liked a post in a topic by gdirulez in Growing community. Growing diversity. Growing language barrier. Growing Concern.
If you know english but choose to speak German instead then you're knowingly and purposely making chat more unfriendly and useless for everyone who doesn't know german.
I personally block/ignore anyone who doesn't talk english because seeing non english in chat makes it useless. My native language isn't english yet I only type english because it's better for everyone involved, I can communicate with more people and if people happen to be observing chat they may get something useful out of it instead of people looking at chat and feeling left out or feeling it's useless seeing it.
  8. Cryswar liked a post in a topic by Danol in Growing community. Growing diversity. Growing language barrier. Growing Concern.
That's completely besides the problem. I'm from germany and german is my native language, so I definitely can stand hearing or reading german. But i think it's incredibly disrespectful to join an international community and then refuse to use a language everyone else understands.
  9. Cryswar liked a post in a topic by KhaorvaK in Growing community. Growing diversity. Growing language barrier. Growing Concern.
so I took a bit of German in college, and went to Germany for a summer, and so I can understand it just a little when I'm seeing it typed out.  I'm a little fascinated, and not offended by it.

But here's the thing you gotta understand, IMO:
When someone puts you on ignore because they can't understand your language, it's not a judgement on you, necessarily.  It's not even saying they're upset at you speaking non-English.
All it's saying is:  That person doesn't see any purpose in having you in his chat windows at this moment.  And those chat windows are INCREDIBLY cramped- you have to make the most of your space as it is.
So... I mean... I don't think it's being discriminated against.  I think it's a quality-of-life choice for that user, which has nothing to do with you.

Now... understanding that... you have a choice about whether you're going to speak non-English or not.  There are pros and cons to both, as you've outlined already in your post   But no one has to "not" block you just for equality's sake.
  10. Cryswar liked a post in a topic by shroomion in [BF Sink] Brainstorming Inflation
I would sink all my bfp to turn some of the shadow units into a more shadowy colour..just saying. A black satanael and his snappers? take my bfp AND my gold good sir! A fourth upgrade for willzappers costing bfp and making them at least useable in pve? Deal. In general a costly 4th bfp upgrade on all cards to simply change their colours would be fun. Just a few ideas here..

    wasn't I?

    Edit blurb 7/3/ 22
    ------------------------------------------

This is a balance change observation. I'm going to break down why I think the Thug Balance changes did not work.

I am writing this down knowing nothing will revert, but as an exercise to explore why no one has been thrilled and
it would have been better to do nothing in this case.

    PVE Broken--------------------------------------------------------
1st off, pve Fire is dominated by Mine and Eruption already, Most of the time, hp matters less when the enemy is that weakened or disrupted, you don't tank in pve t1 fire, you kill or unit spam it dead. HP Regen, range and utilty tools like No summoning sickness, swift and L size are more important in pve t1 fire. Looting pve units was the thug's only previous niche. Remember this.

2nd, in PVE, Thugs are in a tough spot compared to North guard, Spearmen, Insert shadow t1 melee, because Scavengers are almost the exact same 60 power unit Thugs are, except better. Giving thugs 720 s dmg, same as scavs does nothing in PVE. Because Scavs have chad slowing and swift, Thugs have +100 hp and loot +power from cpu buildings. That's a fat zero power gained because cpu pve buildings have no power costs, useless. Also, see above about why more hp in pve mostly useless. The result is obvious, now pve players mostly have converted to Scav, Nomad and Sunstriders when they have chance because the thug's new advantages are mostly useless in Fire t1 pve. Essentially, thugs losing unit looting means Scavs are now better in every way that matters.
*edit: would also like to add and remind people, even if Scav equivalence issue is removed, Wreckers are 10 power cheaper (50) , have spearmen range behavior and are overall better even without factoring their game breaking ability, So it's actually even worse for thugs.

You guys also broke a niche classic Lost Souls Era deck where you grab a bunch of thugs next to healing and then trigger chaos warrior ability to fight each other to gain power. The new thugs are next to worthless for this as they only get power from buildings. This was THE only way to get free power in the entire game since lost souls and u guys broke it cause pvp. Cool coool coool cool cool. Wow.

    See my frustration below.

    PVP more of the same--------------------------------

Giving thugs with the attack statline of Scavs while looting buildings has pleased no one.
They're still doing the exact same thing except now buffed to kill defenders instead of trading card charges evenly with them.
And they still give free power. Like what changed? The niche thug strategy, if anything is stronger as they're now even more cost efficient backdooring
    as always.

    Overall worth.-----------------------------
This is I believe an example of where old thugs should have been kept. Because the new thug balance is basically the same annoying ass in pvp except buffed in their intended pvp role so it feels even shittier to face when working properly, while completely broke useless for pve usage now.

So we broke thugs for pve, and the same unpopular thug play in pvp is just as strong now in a different way. I would not call that a win, we're back to the beginning with a now completely PVE useless card.

    Patch #400021
    Greetings Skylords,
This update contains mostly minor tweaks/fixes and quality of life improvements, but also an important new mode for PvP that allows players who want to grind their PvP decks to do so. We have heard your feedback on the free PvP decks and hope this is a good compromise.
    General changes
Made mini boosters untradeable. These boosters were meant to be opened and not traded, and we noticed some players were trying to scam with this booster.
Added "Unlimited" PvP mode for sparring. In this sparring mode players can use both the free PvP cards and the cards from their own collection. This is unlike the "Collection" sparring PvP mode which was changed to allow players to only use cards from their own collection (and will not allow free PvP cards to be used). Ranked PvP works as before and players can freely choose what cards they would like to use.
Matches played alone will now not kick the player if they go AFK. Instead, they will not receive any BFP from their daily boost and will also not progress in any quest or achievement. They will still receive the rewards for completing the match (this includes the upgrades).
The Ravenheart card as reward from the achievement "Blight's Black Heart" is now tradable. All Ravenheart cards from this achievement have been made tradeable.
Added an option to save your password in the login screen. General fixes
Improved the description and translations of several achievements and quests. Minor adjustments to UI elements in the quests window. Fixed very rarely being able to open gold chests multiple times. Fixed various issues with distributing rewards and updating UI in the post-game screen.

Whenever it's time for bigger decksizes I'd suggest 24 card decks and place them in two layers of 12 cards. Second layer would be partially hidden behind the first (big enough to be accessible by mouse). The 12 card layers would perfectly correspond to the 12 f-keys which are the games default hotkeys.
I already wish there would be small gabs between card 4 and 5 as well as 8 and 9 for visual clarity.

First, that's probably still illegal and would get the stuff into trouble if it come out.
Second, as soon as some people on Patreon leak the information, everyone can get access.
Third, and imo most importantly, this would ruin the whole experience of the project for me. I love that this project is completely free and breaks with the whole pay2win concept of the old BF. Even if it is just coametics, I would feel left behind for not paying money - it would feel like a two class community. And since this game has a great community, this would make my experience with it way worse. I guess I am not the only person who would get turned off by it. I would actually rather donate now when I don't get rewarded for it.
tl;dr: just no, please don't do it.

Finish ALL maps? Does this include multi-player maps? If it does then no. I can't find anyone in the game lobby and while discord is a possibility I don't think it wise to force people into it or have people beg for assistance in completing maps. If it is just single player maps then I wouldn't be too adverse from it, but all that does is make people who already have it or who have beaten all the missions enrich their ego while doing little to effect actual gameplay or contribute to a healthy growth in the community.
As a newer player myself I am already finding it mind-numbing due to the lack of BP I can get to unlock packs on a daily basis. I only have 2 quests left which require me to PvP for 50 points and beat level 5 missions for 75 which I don't have any good cards to make a basic deck for PvE let alone for PvP. I use my daily pack discount and that is about all I can afford day to day as I replay the same first mission for an upgraded breeding grounds

Have You ever played Guns Of Lyr on 3 or 4 position? Search what cards You need for it. I won't name more maps because on most of them on expert i cant win with 5k deck worth.

Amii as reward for all maps done on expert is just dumb and i guarantee people will stop play because of this cause i will be one of them.
