I've had the disconnect once now in a rPVE difficulty 9 map. Using fullscreen mode without using a VPN. Not sure if it is the same because it only happend once until now. (started playing this game since a week)

I am no expert on this or anything but have you tried looking at your crash report, and share wat it says? Maybe it gives a little more insight for others to help you.
