  1. Thanks for mentioning me, but that is a day when i won't have any free time to play... :( At least definitely not before 8pm... But, @Natiac might be interested in this one. Good luck to everybody who's participating!
  2. First of all, thank you @MephistoRoss for finnaly posting this one, it is getting annoying to see even for me how many people just simply refuse to read the other posts... Maybe an even better way would be if you could place the link to this post on the main page, that way hopefully less people will complain. This is not how you solve the problem. Anyone who did it, shame on you, your real life is much more important than a stupid game! And yes, i say this even though i was addicted to this game, and i can hardly wait for it to be ready, BUT there should be a line what you shouldn't cross. I know it is your passion, and you would like the game to finally be ready without any bugs, but don't give up your real life. Don't forget: You are the most important thing in your life. There is only 1 of You, while there are millions of others!
  3. The same happens to me too: probably the servers are overloaded, because it sais 2 times out of 3 that the servers are full, while when it lets me in it sais "Your client lost connection". I'll simply try again tomorrow. Have fun for all of those who can play. Also, thanks guys for getting this far with reimplementing this game. Much love.
  4. Well, then please add me to the PvE section as well, with the addition that i would like to help anyone who needs it from the mid to high level in this part, on most maps even speedruns included (not sure if i remember all I knew before, but i definitely have the knowledge of 50-80% of the maps' speedrun tactics). If we add the battlegrounds to this as well, I'd gladly help anyone from level 7 to 10. Also, please cut my availability to the following: weekdays from 8 pm ( CET ) to midnight and weekends from 5 to 9 pm. It is possible that I will be available for more time, but during this period hopefully I will not forget to join the tutoring discord channel where anyone can contact me.
  5. I definitely agree with this point of yours, and in my opinion the best way would be to make it possible to log in invisible (similar to how it is done on skype or the battle.net account) and only login to the private messages chat + the groupchat with the matchmade chat. I know this makes the whole friendlist a lot more complicated and can arouse issues, but this could be a good way to improve the game after it's already done. Maybe one other possible solution to the anonimity would be having multiple characters, but then only 1 character should be allowed to play solo ranked, the others should be locked out of it. I still can't agree with the fact that you get to play with different decks in ranked without being punished for it on your main account - just as when you are trying to improve your deck with single card-changes (i. e. when you try out the Wrathblades instead of the Skeleton Warriors on t1 shadow and realize they may be similar, but their function is totally different and you will definitely lose some games by the time you get to know how to use them ideally). It may be true that the deck diversity won't reach the same level as if you would be allowed to use multiple accounts, but the number of the games wouldn't change dramatically. Thus the top accounts would just sit on the top with only playing the necesseary amount on their main characters to not decay. This means if you're multiaccounting the number of the players won't change, so the matchmaking won't be much healthier unfortunately, it will only be more colorful. I just wrote the disadvantage of it in my previous post, don't make me repeat myself. With 50-120 stats most likely noone would be in the toplist, since they would be low silver or bronze ranked players. It may seem that you start at 0 ELO when the season starts, but actually you start with 112000 ELO if I remember correctly which is around the lowest gold rank, but you need to play some games to get this rank (as if your rank had been decayed totally). This means only very few people should have negative stats in the toplist, and those also should be wins and losses against higher rank players. Actually there is a slight chance that you have 50-120 stats and still be in the top 100, but only if your opponents are always much higher ranked than you, such as the top 5 players because of the discrepency in the weight of the losses and wins. But as a gold ranked player you will get gold ranked opponents most of the times, not Emperor-Prime ranked players. With this the problem is that when we meet a smurf character we don't have anything knowledge about it, while if you are actually a top player you know everyone's deck at least up to 12-15 cards in the top 50. Even if that character beats us, or we come out victorious we'll have no way of telling who beat us and what rank he is on (except for those who know exactly how the ELO adds up after the game). This also means that you make the ranked into some child's play and mix with unranked, thus the wintrading between high rank friends wouldn't be trackable. Also, there is no way of guaranteeing and forcing the given player to stick to the 1-colortype rule on each of his characters, which leads to this being easily exploitable. Conclusion: I understand the fears of people losing their ranks on their main characters and the problem with the anonimity - as you all know, i was in the top 5 at a time as well-, but these problems don't justify the fact that if you try out new things in solo ranked you should be punished for it; be it single card changes or mastering different colors.
  6. Actually if you are not a ack of trades player (which let's admit, there are almost none in this game who can play on the same level with multiple decks) I totally understand your point of view, but if you want to try out new decks in ranked in my opinion you with your rank should be punished for it. You're actually saying that by trying out new decks on other accounts, you'll play with that deck on your main any time at all? Unfortunately I'm pretty sure you will not... And this only means that the top ranked players will just flood the rankings and it is unhealthy for the game IMO. So with this I want to point out the mistake in your argument: the players on the top of the rankings will play with their main deck only regardless of having multi accounts or not. Let me introduce you to a small example: if I am the top 50th ranked player in the game how is it fair for me to be only at the 85th place in the rankings? Because the top 20 players don't dare play other things on their main accounts and thus have 2nd and even 3rd accounts and can beat me with different decks anytime because their knowledge of the game is broader. I think trying out new decks and mastering them is a good thing, but if you do want to take it to ranked you should be punished for experimenting and should not take the place of other players. About the decaying, i definitely remember how it worked, and i didn't like it's way, because as a high-elo player you actually did not lose any elo, only your activity-multiplier decayed. Thus even if you were top1, later afk for 2 years and came back you would get back your prime rank real fast. But that is a totally different thing, plus probably it would happen even more times if the multi-accounting would be permitted. Oh, and I personally know at least 2 people who left multiple games because they got crushed by others. Nobody said that in this project only those will play who once had the Battleforge as their favourite game. There will be new players as well, and they will not be so devoted to the game if they do not get a sense of achievement at all. I do not remember to the bug clearly, but it had something to do with the bfp for sure and one of the auction house or mailing system.
  7. While on one hand I agree with @ImperatorSK and the fact that it will probably affect the pvp-playerbase after a while on the very high end, but i think it is much more important what @MrXLink wrote in order to keep the newcomers we shouldn't be able to have other accounts. Just think about it, if you were a platinum colored pvp ranker and you tried out other decks, you still would beat the sh*t out of everyone who were even on the low-gold ranks as well, not to mention the lower ranked players. What do you think they would feel after they're facing and getting crushed by an acc that has bronze ranks?! Most likely they ragequit, and maybe they stop playing forever - yeah, this would be a huge overreaction, but it can definitely happen. And to @DuellLord and every other players who think about it: ffs, if once you could get to a high rank with one type of deck, you can climb with that back anytime, this way you have the opportunity to try the new decks on higher level. Does it take time? Yes. Does it take away some of your rating? Yes. But on the other hand if you are a high-level player your microing and macroing will be much crisper than those who are not on the same level, regardless of what type of deck you're using. You can outmicro anyone who's lower level with pure nature even if you played lost souls on your main account, doesn't matter, your knowledge of the game is so much higher compared to your opponents that you can beat them easily. And why am I saying these things? I myself tested everything on my main account - true, had a small acc while i could have 2 accs on 1 profile, only used that for trading. First I played fire-nature, then tried pure nature, after that tried pure shadow, in the end settled down with shadow-nature, inside it first did the Embalmer-FoF-Soul Splicer combo and then refined my deck to my taste with trying out at least 10 different cards in it - even tried out the snapjaws in ranked games, so don't blame me, but I cannot understand your nonsense. Just think about this part as in any moba: what happens when they ban your main champion, or you do not get the role you prefer? Will you just leave the ranked, or deal with it and play with another one even if you know your skills are not on the same level with the different characters? Other thing, what @RadicalX and @Eirias mentioned: wait a minute, don't tell me you were annoyed during the battleforge was live because of messages. While you're only a high ranked player you can always put those who bothers you to your ignore-list. As a moderator IMO you have the right to tell them to not bother you. Also, as far as I know only those can see if you are online who added you as friends, and those who actually check the list on the top right, which shows who are standing in the same chat-server as you are. Also, there are other parts of using multi accounts - mainly because of the daily quest system is the only way to get bfp, and this could make too big of a discrepancy. While on the same profile having multiple accounts can solve these bfp-problems, but it generates even more bugs that came out while the game was in it's prime time, and that was one of the reasons the EA shut it down previously. All in all: I totally agree with the decision that was made to disable the multi-accounting, because it disrupts the game.
  8. Thank you for the update, i am not mad, just disappointed... If the game is not ready to be released for the public, it is understandable and acceptable, but making promises and then failing them is something else. If You are not sure about the release date then better not to say anything about it, because this way I believe I'm talking in others' name as well when I say we are just losing hope... I still support the project and still can say I can hardly wait for it - we could say I'm part of the #f5sect if you know what I mean -, so heads up and don't worry about the time you need to fix it, just don't make false statements...
  9. congratz @Ultrakool, hope you'll enjoy being part of the team
  10. Naturally, I tried almost everything (even the usage of snapjaws), BUT the nightguard-spam is something you never want to use against anything (except for sunderer-spam, but it will never happen). True, it has more dmg over the nox-spam, but you also never want to spam only 1 unit at all against anything, ma-spam simply beats the shadow if you cannot use dreadcharger / witchclaws / skeleton warriors with nox troopers AND forsaken as a backup (except if you use phase tower, that beats almost everything from frost and nature). Simple reason is the master archers' stats. These are 300/600 with S-counter for 50 power, it's just stronger than any shadow t1 ranged unit. The dreadcharger-spam will not work against players who plan to do ma-spam from the start because they'll use wintertide for an easy trade against the trampling of the horses. Also I'm missing the Witchclaws from the list, it is a decent cheap-version of the dreadcharger if you do not own that card, and also against the frost it is not worse at all (unlike against nature /see amazon/ and against shadow and fire /because of being a squad unit, 1 dies too soon to nox charge or to scavanger bite + sunstriders/ ). Against the frost players (with ma-spam rushing tactics) I mostly used 1-2 dreadcharger, with 1 skeleton warrior on the front (ability used, if gets disregarded first use it for constant dmg, maybe bomb with nasty - even though it's damage is not that useful against frost, the knockup from the explosion can help. If the ma-spam falls back, just use the dreadcharger's ability on it), and with mostly noxes on the back with 1 forsaken squad at a time, naturally ability used as well. The motivate was only needed if the frost used home soil, frost bite or wintertide. Also, what @Anonymos wrote is totally correct, I only wrote this because I played an unconventional niche deck - talking about my time, heard that later more shadow-nature players rose, don't know their decks - which contained 8 cards on t1 without using phase tower.
  11. I totally agree with all things what @RadicalX said, maybe a little bit i would argue about the Thugs, but that's only because I mostly played shadow t1 and against me it was one of the cards that made the matchup at the least even for the fire because of the passive power-gain from the thugs... But I wanted to say something about the Embalmer-Shadow Phoenix combo: it's one of the most important part of the speedruns in PvE, so it was used really a lot, and during the time I played the "ultra lame Embalmer - Soul Splicer - FoF combo" and even after that I tried the Shadow-Nature with the Soul Splicer and later with the Embalmer (these were without the 2 other buildings). And I only stopped using it because in 1v1 that single deckslot, what the Embalmer took was quite a burden, and also what was already mentioned, the strain in the bound power was too huge within normal circumstances. And after these things I even kept the Shadow Phoenix, because that I believe is still a good tech-card, but the Embalmer needs too much time to set up, and to take in an 80 seconds cooldown (20 sec to build the embalmer + 60 sec initial cd) thing just for a situational unit is just an insane waste of a deckslot. In 2v2 it was used every now and then, but that shifted out as well after a while. And now my question: Why the Snapjaws almost never see play? I know there were tries, and even I tried them, but I found them too expensive for the debuff they did, and also weren't a real t1 card, but much more a t2 (only eception is against the Sunderer on t1)... If it would have been 50 power though I believe one of the 2 types could be used in the t1-heavy shadow decks such as the shadow-nature - but still wouldn't see much play in my opinion.
  12. i don't know about it... First off: each power well generates 1 power every 2 seconds, so if it stands for 2 seconds, it already pays back 1 power and so you only lose 99 power! But really, this number is not wrong, but it's misleading. I would advice you, to use other wording, like "losing 1 power well makes you lose the same amount of power as if you would have used 1000 power in cards". Also, the power well gives other advantages as well, not only the power you can gain from it, but it gives 2 more things: first and most important is that you can summon units at full strenght, without them being dazed, which can play a really important part in the fights, especially if you're shadow and want to use the abilities of a few units (like forsaken). I know you already mentioned it earlier, but it can be the deciding factor to take a well or not. The second is that it has quite a big hp (compared to t1 units) and so you should use it to absorb some area damage (like the nasty surprise) - naturally not mindlessly. These 2 are contradicting each other, so I'm just mentioning it, also would like to point out that against those, who are not running nature splash, you don't need to finish off the small units, it's best for you if you leave a few members of the squads alive (also against shadow t1 you have to be careful because of the motive, but in most cases this statement is still true), but against nature splashes you have to finish off everything. if you are a stonekin player and don't run t3 cards, this may be a bad idea The second part is definitely wrong, if you have the possibility in most cases you should use higher tier units to defend against lower ones, since their ( attack power and hitpoints ) : ( cost ) ratio is better. 1 or 2 power plus or minus is not the end of the world, although I would recommend doing it, but for other reasons: you can use this slight TIME-advantage to get faster to the center of the map and so have a territorial advantage, which is a lot of times even better than having 20-50 power advantage! All in all, it's a nice guide, I just don't like this coloring stuff, but that's my personal opinion.
  13. @Dallarian : Unfortunately something came up, resulting that on the 10th I have to travel quite a lot (6-8 hours), which means i cannot participate... Well, hopefully I'll have more time when the next one comes. And good luck to all of you! You'll need it against @Anonymos if he really goes for the win!
  14. Right now I can say that probably I'll have time, but it will depend on the situation going on in the university: the following week is the first week of the exam period when I will definitely have at least one exam. So sign me up, and if there's anything comes that makes me unable to participate I'll say it beforehand. EDIT: Just as said below, i cannot participate
  15. I'm also willing to teach, tutor anyone after the game comes out, even the very starters, since the basics are the most important (just by mastering the basics one could reach even the Legend rank) and more experienced players as well to polish their gameplay. I was a Sovereign ranked player (green/platine circle 4 dots), maining Shadow-Nature, who has a wide knowledge about the game, but due to lacking mechanical skills I couldn't get higher than the top 4. position. I can teach in english and hungarian. My teaching times probably will be the afternoons of the weekdays (CET) until 1 am, but this can still change according to the exact date of the game's release and the progress of my studies and job. I believe the best method for tutoring is that first we go through the basics broadly and then the one willing to learn plays a game, sends me the replay, we play one together, and after these we talk through both of the games (preferably on skype/teamspeak/discord). My main strength was my T1. But there's only 1 exception: it is the fact that I cannot play, and so don't have the ability to teach pure fire. * a lil' sidenote: I reached Master of the Forge rank in PvE within the first 10 players, so I can give advices in regards of the PvE maps, especially their speedruns.
  16. Pro players can play really good with F2P decks as well, don't you agree @Eirias? Naturally it's understandable, there shouldn't be any problems regarding this. And now, it is time, to add everyone participating and prepare my decks!
  17. I probably will only be able to add everyone who didn't add me around the early hours of Saturday, 'cause I have exams tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and also gonna meet a friend of mine on friday, and I wanna focus on the studies and my friends first, game comes only after that.
  18. Is it because of the date or the 5pm is too late for you?
  19. It's perfect for me, doesn't really matter if it starts an hour later for me - at least i can sleep more (during weekends i don't like to wake up early) What about you guys, @Killhakan, @Anonymos, @Eirias, @LetsEinfallslos002, @Aazrl, @shadowxxs77?
  20. Well, I prefer the Swiss System either, but if not too many players are registered the Round Robin works as well. Still better than the elimination format IMO, where if you make a few mistakes earlier in the tournament, or just unlucky in your first few games, you won't even have the chance to play as much as others... @Dallarian the challonge.com works for single, double elimination, round robin and swiss format as well. And you can "allow participants with Challonge accounts to report their own scores", plus have quite a few other options as well, earlier when we hosted any BF-tournaments we used this site, worked really well for us.
  21. No worries, I didn't play HS competitively (well, I was invited to one last year spring, but instead of it I went to a date), and only played HS for real ladder climbing about that time and before that. True, I have most cards, but my decks are still not up to date, and since the first batch of the exams are starting from 3. October at my university, I won't really have much time to practice either, but I'll try my best! Hmmm, yeah, just what I mentioned: my exams are starting soon, and thus I had to start studying today for them, so I'm pretty sure I won't have time to check this site every single day...
  22. Write me up as well, my battle tag is: Cr4Zy#1398 And the "Chess format" what you wrote is called Swiss System, or Swiss format @Eirias not sure if that would work, since we have no information when that tawern brawl would come out and thus we wouldn't be able to plan ahead. But except this nuisance, I would say sure, why not
  23. I don't have any idea what you did, since the original post didn't change, even after it sais you edited it (since it was quoted totally on the top of this page there's a quite good comparison)... On the other hand, now that i can see the P4F cards (except the one that was swapped for the Mutating Frenzy, because it seems noone knows about what it was), i have a couple more things to ask: 1.: Unholy power: is it allowed or not, on U3 it will be 90 power, but on U0, U1 and U2 it's 100 power. 1.2.: If the answer to the previous question is yes, then at T2 when we're attacking with Rippers, are we allowed to use the Unholy Power to boost our units, or we're not? 2.: Didn't remember the exact hp of the boss, but i'm pretty sure he has more than 15k hp, which means if the "less than 100 mana" + "only P4F cards" are in act, you cannot one-shot him (Rifle cultist ability + unholy power + unholy hero together deals 13.200 damage to a single unit - 16.800 in total). Also we'll have to kill him before the first flying soul gets there or clear those as well. I don't remember if the boss is regenerating or not without getting any of the souls, but if yes, the whole mission seems impossible. If he doesn't regenerate it still will be a pain in the a$$ to finish him, but at least it's possible.
  24. I'll need some clarifications: 1.: The difficulty of the map, will there be any plus points for playing and doing it on expert, or having everything done on standard makes the same amount of points? 2.: Can someone write down eactly which cards were the P4F cards around the end of the game? 'Cause I remember that at least 1, the Mutating Frenzy was changed to something else around the later stages of the game, but don't remember to what card... 3.: Is killing your own units using Stone of Torment count as they die in battle or not? If not then this bonus challange is impossible to do if we want to complete all the challanges. If I would see the P4F cards then probably I would have some other questions as well, but these are the questions I can make at first glance.
  25. The 1349 replies + the previous 1350 means that i'm the next with 1351.
