  1. i remember doing an unintentional combo with this: using retreating circle the same moment your teammate uses nasty surprise will trigger the nasty at the original spot and save all your units from its damage. it happen when silverdragen was trolling me in sparring 2v2 (he tried to prevent my nasty using retreating circle). other than intentional trolling, it is not that usefull i guess. how often do you want to retreat in pvp t3? you want to nuke dat base...
  2. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The entire game froze for me after a while, which makes this bug highly abusable to prevent losses in pvp. in addition, i was unable to leave to the forge, the screen only showed the forge ui over a black background and froze.
  3. in terms of raw stats it seems very meh at first, but it really wrecks assasins and ravage is also great at keeping a single unit alive. swift is very nice to prevent kiting as well. a very well desinged counter that manages to act as a counter and not as a pseudo siege unit as one might think due to the power cost. i like the unit a lot, solid design, strong enough and doesn't feel unfair to play against.

    Anime!

@Drezrak ah i see, but still there are anime out there, which don't oversexualize anything. i highly recommend monster as a cliche-free anime for a mature audience, no oversexualizastion here...

    Anime!

@Drezrak well, if your opinion is based solely on one piece, i can understand that very well. i also really dislike the fanservice going on in the anime industry, as well as the just wierd/childish elements in many anime, mosty shounen anime... but please don't discard an entire subgenre of media just because you watched the wrong stuff. go and have a look at adult anime, such as "monster". maybe you will like those.
  6. in my opinion, dayly quests are still fine, chain activity quests are terrible tho. they force you to play every day or else you don't get the reward... that kind of stuff is a terrible abuse of human nature and gets you to play even if you don't want to. just having a well made progression that feels good is enough to keep players, who are interested in the game, playing. doing that progression by quests is fine, you are not forced to play every day to progress and it is still varied enough to not be a chore.
  7. guys, we are bringing a game back, not building the perfect skinner box to keep everyone addicted. dayly quests are ok for me, but plz don't go too far. the game itself is great and we don't need to "learn" from pokemon go. that game has no substance and only progression to keep you playing even if you don't enjoy it anymore (like many many other mobile "games"). our goal should be to make progress as enjoyable and fair for as many kinds of playertypes as possible instead.
  8. I argued that avatar fits into anime better (in my opinion, never stated it as fact. you see, i wrote "feels very eastern to me" and not "is very eastern". big difference) due to the themes/motifs present. i am not alone with this opinion and there have been plenty of arguments about it in the past. also i never said that you can't state your opinion, i am against you forcing your views onto others and stating it as a fact instead of stating it as an opinion. you just said "those are not anime", which doesn't contribute to the discussion at all. if you had said "i don't view them as anime, because..." or "i don't think it counts as anime" or "this isn't anime to me" that would have been just fine. me saying "if others count it as anime, then it is absolutely fine and their choice" was deliberately taken out of context here. with "it" i was CLEARLY refering to avatar and not just any random show. also spongebob and twd are clearly not anime, because they don't deal with the themes/motifs associated to anime at all. i never claimed they could be counted towards anime. stop constructing a strawman here by taking my quotes out of context.
  9. @mudavunts so the exact same show (in this case avatar) would be considered anime if it was made by the same people if they had jap citizenship? how does that make any sense for a genre definition? if that's how you see it, it really is a lable with no meaning. anyways, my favorites include psycho pass, monster, berserk 97 (manga still a lot better), death note, code geas, FMA brotherhood, princess mononoke, one punch man
  10. then how would you define "anime"? just as animation from japan? do you include korea and china (there have been some anime style shows from those countries)? i would argue that we should not just use the country of origin here, that doesn't really much sense for a genre definition. also, animation style is also not really indicative either, i mean just look at the variety of styles there are: ghibli movies, jojo's bizzare adventures, space dandy, berserk 2016 (yes it looks like shit), ufotable animation, tons of wierdly drawn moe shows.... the list just goes on and on. then what makes a show "anime"? to me, what makes it anime are the main motifs/elements the show is about: for anime common ones include: coming of age,, sexuality (no i don't mean hentai...), martial arts, slice of life, morality, suffering and loss, supernatural elements, game elements etc etc. in adition the way characters and plot progression is done is quite distincitive. in general, anime is MOSTLY directed towards youths and young adults, where the main bulk of western animation is meant for kids exclusively and only a small part, which is dominated by superhero adaptations, is directed towards adults. there is some overlap in themes (mainly loss and suffering as well as supernatural elements for the superhero adaptations), but the way plot and characters are done is quite different from eastern animations. avatar feels very eastern to me and it fits better in the "anime" category than in the western animation category. now you can really argue about this and never get to a satisfying conclusion and that's fine. but calling others out for "not listing anime" as if it was a fact that avatar doesn't belong here is really not nessecary. if others count it as anime, then that's absolutely fine and their choice. there is no need to go as far as say that the entire discussion has no meaning because of ONE controversial show. that's a slippery slope fallacy and i am pretty sure you are aware of that. please stop trying to shut down the discussion because others disagree with your opinion. that's not how discussions work.
  11. Honestly, nobody cares what lable you want to put on a show. why is it important where a show was made? how does that define its qualitys/genre? avatar is disinctly eastern in style, in my book i'd count it towards anime (that is in case anime is an actual thing with meaning and not just a lable for jap animation). not convinced? then please tell me if dark souls is a "j-rpg" or not. it is clearly more western in style, isn't it? it lack the typical elements of japanese style rpgs, but it's still from japan.
  12. there are so many good dark souls bosses that i can't pick a single one from them. so i just won't do that and pick the flaggship from FTL. the fight is insanely intense and everything is on the line, wether your run is a success or failure is all determined here. rarely is this much on the line in a game, which makes the boss really special.
  13. 1v1 just froze for me, but i also triggered a bug before, so this might be due to an invalid server state when trying to re-syncronize.
  14. Does this mean we have to change all ingame Battleforge logos as well? if not, it might be a bit confusing if the game is called differently on the web page and in game. otherwise great news, open beta !
  15. a solid unit, but it is a bit squishy at times and makes for some really good lavafield setup if you are not carefull with your micro. it's fine, wouldn't change it.
  16. it would force a root and you bind power in a unit that has no damage and the wrong counter type. also the enemy can just run and attack somewhere else since he will be able to defend a counteroffensive. i highly doubt it is any better than what i am trying right now.
  17. well the thing is bandits need something to intercept swift m units before they reach your base. being able to intercept early would force cc before the enemy reaches your well, which at least gives you a chance to defend. nc can't intercept, the enemy can just run and they get 1 attack at max and continue running at your well. if you want to have any chance to defend, you need to frenzy as soon as they reach the well. too bad the enemy can just cc and let your units die, but at least you can spawn a skyfire drake now (at least if the enemy used oinc and not root (he would have to move units after root and you can at least have stanced assasins if the enemy roots)) that isn't even able to dps the burrowers/scyte fiends down before the well drops. not sure about you, but this seems like a glaring m counter issue for me. nc is great, but not relyable and too abusable and fails to intercept on top of that. now, the spearmen with steadfast would be able to do the same as nc, just without dying and after the cc they might be able to deal some damage before the enemy runs. looking at it like this, yeah that might be a bit better... at least if the enemy does not go straight for another base instead. in that case you are having the same issues as frost t1, minus the protect to stall. the spearmen are just unable to do the task of intercepting the enemy that is SO important for bandits. this is why we need a cheap, ranged m counter imune to knockback and maybe with an ability that forces the enemy to cc to interrupt it or fight you before reaching the well. while giving all kinds of bandits s units steadfast would help, it's a cheap fix that ignores the underlying issue. for instance: if you had a way to intercept early and force a fight, bandit spearmen might do their job just fine without steadfast.
  18. even if you were to add stallwart, i doesn't change the fact that it is slow. at the power cost, cc is quite effective, especially if it is just to stall for burrowers. don't forget that root is also really effective here... for bandits to stand a chance in weak matchups, a ranged m counter that can't be knockbacked is needed (and no, comandos do not do the job, even if buffed. you can just hurricane before they stance, it's not even hard). overall i would not bother playing bandit spearmen in 1v1, in 2v2 however they have a lot more value if your teammate can stall out for you. at least it can force cc in 2v2...
  19. i agree, the red affinity has some insane damage. nature splashes only have ghostspears otherwise and it is pretty clear that they get outperformed by stoneshards. seeing the mad stats and that still nobody crys op gives you a good idea about how easyly mele s units are dealt with, regardless of their stats.
  20. *plz no kill for nekro, this is still relevant, right?* Is there currently anyone in beta able to test 21:9 resolutions in fullscreen? i am thinking about a hardware upgrade to 21:9 and am not sure if bafo can handle it.
  21. i tired it, but it can be avoided too easyly and 40 void bound in the early game make quite a difference; you often end up loosing more units, since you have less power and the void return isn't worth it either, as there isn't much void in t1 to begin with. aside from that, the hp are really really low and the banner often drops before you get enough use out of it. the low hp also make it less usefull in t2, where you would have enough void to make it work. I have seen fire/frost players use this card instead of ice barrier, but i am not sure if it is worth playing, since the hp are so low and it doesn't have a fast construction. with fast construction and/or more hp it could be worth it for fire/frost and see more play.
  22. @SilenceKiller99 m counter is nightcrawler territory and you wouldn't be able to challange that at all with an s unit, as it is swift and can't get hurricaned. l counter doesn't work either since l units knock back s units, also ripper isn't swift so the l unit can just run through and the rippers will be unable to even catch up without cc support.
  23. this card will be underplayed regardless of the stats. it's just outclassed and also too costly. you would have to give it totally broken op stats to make it worth playing.
  24. @Die2Play you spelled "lost souls" wrong! anyways, nice to see you offering your teachings, good luck with that!
  25. If anyone wants to add me, my IGN is lagops91.
