    Greetings Skylords!

It's been three weeks since our last community update so it's time to bring you up to speed with everything going on in Skylords Reborn.
This update is kind of a Bandits-Special, with new card reveals, a Deep Dive for the faction and insight in the process of adding a new PvP card. Let's get started!

    Anniversary Stream Announcement
Mark your calendars because we have some celebrating to do! On December 18th, Skylords Reborn reaches its 1-year anniversary. It has been a wild ride; from resurrecting the game to a playable state, to actively developing new features and even brand new cards.
Join us for a special anniversary stream on December 17th with news, card reveals, give-aways and more, celebrating the past, present and future of Skylords Reborn! More details will be shared in the coming weeks. We hope to see you there!

    New Card Reveal
Please note: We are still testing the card. While we are generally happy about it and feel comfortable revealing it, its numbers and effects might still change. We hope to release this card before the end of the year and will share more information at a later date.
Today we are excited to reveal a card that might see play in both PvP and PvE, and solve some of the problems Bandits have in PvP.

Bandit Minefield is a tier 2 Spell for Fire/Shadow. Upgrading the card reduces its cooldown (up to 10 seconds) and powercost (80 to 70). It will be a rare and won't have an affinity. Here is how the card works:
Creates 4 clusters of mines in a line of 20m. If a hostile ground unit gets as close as 10m to a cluster, its mines will detonate in 6 bursting waves. Each wave deals 100 damage to hostile units and 25 damage to buildings in a 15m radius, up to 300 in total. If no enemy approaches a cluster within 10 seconds, its mines will disappear again. Affects ground targets only. Cannot damage wall segments, Power Wells or Monuments. Cannot be placed nearby hostile units or structures, excluding walls. Knocks back small units. Reusable every 35/35/35/25 seconds.
Bandit Minefield requires the selection of source and target location. Mines will be placed in a straight line in the direction you choose.

    Design and expected use
Because this is our first new card that will see play in the PvP-meta, we asked our designer RadicalX to share some insights about the design process of the card. We cover why the card was created, what role it has in the meta and how it was changed during testing. Bandits has been one of the weaker factions in PvP, so we are very excited to see how this new tool will help them out.
    Bandit_Minefield_Design_Choices.pdf

    Affinity and Rarity
A quick word about this cards rarity and lack of affinity. Affinities were added to every expansion of BattleForge, mostly as a way to increase the number of cards in each expansion. While there are some cards where the different affinities result in interesting choices, there are also a lot of cards that struggle under this design restriction. The Skylord Reborn team decided that going forward, we will add affinities where they feel right, but leave them out when we can't add a meaningful difference between them, or adding them would undermine what the card is supposed to do.
As for the rarity, we actually wrote a document about rarity, and according to those guidelines, Bandit Minefield will be a rare. It is worth noting that Bandit Minefield will be added to the free PvP-bandit deck. We expect this card to be crucial in the PvP scene, and find it important that everyone who wants to play PvP can do so without grinding for cards or upgrades first.

    Artwork
The artwork has been designed by our talented artist Tweeto, and we thought it would be cool to share some sketches to show you the progress.

As always, a lot of time and changes went into this artwork. A big thanks to Tweeto for constantly accepting feedback and improving the artwork. We are really happy with the final result, and hope you are too!

    Vote for Cardnames
Just like with Coat of Protection and Wasteland Wing, we need your suggestions for the final cardname. During testing we came up with the cardname ''Bandit Minefield" and ''Treacherous Path" as the effect name. However, part of our promise to our Patrons is to let them help with naming new cards based on suggestions from the community. For this, we will need your help!
Please reply in the comments below what you feel is the perfect cardname for this card and how you would name the ability.
    Example:
    Name: Bandit Minefield
    Ability: Treacherous Path
Please only suggest one name. We will collect all the suggestions and let our Avatar-of-Frost-tier (and higher) Patrons vote for the final name, starting next week.

    Bandit Deep Dive
Back in July we shared our Deep Dive into Frost; an exploration into what makes the faction tick and how we planned to tackle the issues Pure Frost struggled with. We have since then shifted our focus away from the frosty Lyrish Reaches and moved on to the scorching Southern Wastes; attached you will find the Bandits Deep Dive!
In this document we will be exploring the Bandits-faction in detail, including upcoming changes and even a tease of another new card! It is our goal with documents such as these to give our players a glimpse into how we think about factions and where we are planning to take the game.

    Upcoming Tournaments & Events
NEW: Official PvE Contest#4 Winter is coming - Until 17.12.2021
For this challenge, we want to see you succeed in playing the map Guns of Lyr, while accomplishing several winter and Christmas themed objectives. This event has a point system and boosters for the top performers. Check out the rules and how to apply here and have fun!

FINISHED: Official PvE Contest#3 Skylords Raid
Our 3th PvE contest has concluded, thanks to everyone who participated! Originally the idea was to have a stream, but because we are already streaming for our anniversary and most of the runs used the same tactics, the winners will instead be announced through a youtube video in the near-future. We also saw a lot less participants in this style of contest, so we will try to stay away from multiple-map contests in the future.

    • Host your own event / tournament
Want to host a tournament or event? Please reach out to our Event Organisers Hiko or Metagross to have your event prizes sponsored by us. If you have a cool idea for a PvE event, or want to host a PvP tournament, please don't hesitate to reach out to us, we will gladly assist you.

New Team Members / Open Positions
We are very happy to announce a new addition to our team: RookieN has joined the team as a Map Designer / Map Developer / Map Artist! You can expect great things from him, and we hope to be able to share them soon.
We also added another Event Manager to the team; Metagross will work together with our other Event Manager Hiko to provide you with a steady stream of contests and tournaments. His community contest on King's Ridge was a success, so we are happy to officially welcome him to the team.
At the same time we are sad to see Kerkk leave the team as a Web Developer. He unfortunately does not have enough time to help us out anymore. We would like to thank him for his time and all he did for Skylords Reborn!
Last Community Update we posted our cry for help for Balance Developers, and we are very grateful for the response. We hope to add new Balance Developers to the team soon, who will help us implement new cards and balance changes. We did experience some delays because of the lack of staff for quite a while now, but we hope this will improve with new members being added to the team. This is always an area that we need help with, so if you are still interested, please let us know.
There are still some other areas we would like additional help to expand and grow Skylords Reborn. If you want to help, we would love to have you on our team. Below we have highlighted some roles, but you can find more information, desired traits and all our open positions here. If you are unsure if you qualify, please reach out and have a talk!

NEW: Open Position - Video Editor
As a video editor you are responsible for creating exciting video content for Skylords Reborn. This can range from short card reveal videos to exciting trailers and cutting up Twitch-stream content for highlight videos on our Youtube channel. If you have any experience with audio post production, you can also help us out with the process of adding new voice-lines and sound effects into the game. More Information.

    Open Position - Artist
While we absolutely love Tweeto's output, one artist can only do so much. As an artist you are responsible to create the visuals required for new content. This is a broad position and there are many areas where you could help in, depending on your skills and interests. Think of loading screen artwork for new maps, card artwork for new cards, visual UI elements for new features that involve adding UI to the game, banners for events/tournaments/community challenges/large game updates etc. More Information.

Open Position - Marketeer / Outreach Coordinator
As a Marketeer / Outreach Coordinator you are responsible to spread the word and create awareness about Skylords Reborn and to attract veteran and new players alike. This includes actively researching and reaching out to potentially interested streamers, youtubers, Discord channels, game magazines, among others. You will be responsible for the communication to and from interested parties and for any promotion deals (for example involving scratch codes). Please note that Skylords Reborn cannot do any paid promotions. More Information.

    In Conclusion
And that's it for this Community Update, thanks for reading!
As is tradition, this community update comes with a scratch code.
The code will reward you with a mini-booster: COMM-UNIT-YNEW-S15B
The code is valid till December 25th.
We will update you again on December 18th, during our 1-year anniversary! The next community update will probably stick to the 3 week schedule, meaning it will be posted on the 25th.
As always, we are open to feedback so please let us know!

    Greetings Skylords!

It's been three weeks since our last community update so it's time to bring you up to speed with everything going on in Skylords Reborn!

As we mentioned in an earlier community update, new cards are in development. Last time we showed you our first new card: Coat of Protection. We are very excited to show you the second one today!
    New Card Reveal:
Please note: We are still testing the card. While we are generally happy about it and feel comfortable revealing it, numbers and effects might still change. We hope to release this card before the end of the year and will share more information at a later date.

Joining Windhunters in the sky, Wasteland Wing is an extremely strong tier 4 dragon. With strong stats combined with Life Steal, this new tool will be a great incentive for playing Bandits. It will be uncommon and come in two affinities, each having a different effect for its Cleanse ability. Let's break down the card.
    Breath of Embers
Every 3 seconds, unit spews fiery sand out that deals 630/660/690/720 damage to enemies in a 35m radius around its target, up to 945/990/1035/1080 in total. Knocks back small and medium units.

    Infused Cleanse (Fire-affinity only)
    Cost: 110 Power - Cast Range: 30m
Activate to immediately remove all debuffs from up to 5 friendly units in a 15m radius. Will also revert all status effects like Freeze or Paralyze. Additionally, affected units deal 100% increased siege damage for 10 seconds. Reusable every 30 seconds
    Tainted Cleanse (Shadow-affinity only)
    Cost: 110 Power -  Cast Range: 30m
Activate to immediately remove all debuffs from all units in a 15m radius. Will also revert all status effects like Freeze or Paralyze. Additionally, affected units will be immune to all major debuffs for 10 seconds. Reusable every 30 seconds.
    Life Stealer
15% of the damage dealt by the unit will be added to its life points.

Wasteland Wing is a Pure Bandits alternative to Tortugun for those players who enjoy the Bandits playstyle and aesthetics but who do not want to interact with Tortugun's unique hunger mechanics. With an area-of-effect disenchant ability it will enable the typical Bandits playstyle of hard to pin down agents of destruction.
    Artwork Reveal:
The artwork (and ability icon) has been designed by our talented artist Tweeto, and we gladly show it off in all its glory:

Just like with Coat of Protection, a lot of time and changes went into this artwork. We thought it would be cool to show you some sketches to show the progress. A big thanks to Tweeto for constantly accepting feedback and improving the artwork. We are really happy with the final result, and hope you are too!

    Vote for Cardnames
Just like with Coat of Protection, we need your suggestions for the final cardname. During testing we came up with the cardname ''Wasteland Wing'', and abilities named ''Infused Cleanse'' and ''Tainted Cleanse''. However, part of our promise to our Patreons is to let them help with naming new cards based on suggestions from the community. For this, we will need your help!
Please reply in the comments below what you feel is the perfect cardname for this card, and how you would name the ability. Please note that Infused and Tainted are part of the affinity name, and will not be changed.

    Example:
    Name: Wasteland Wing
    Ability: Tainted/Infused Cleanse
Please only suggest one name. We will collect all the suggestions and let our Avatar-of-Frost-tier (and higher) patreons vote for the final name.

    Voice-actors Update
Last Community Update we opened up applications for voice-acting the new cards. We are very happy with the results, and want to thank everyone for taking the time and effort to apply! We have made a selection of fitting voice-actors and will now work with them for the final script. If you applied but did not get a reply to your e-mail, please reach out to me.
We hope you are looking forward to them bringing the new cards alive!

    Updated 2vs2 Maps (test server)
We have released new versions of the PvP 2vs2 maps to the test server. Now we need your help to test them! Please go on the test server and try out these maps and share your feedback with us. The sooner we have good feedback, the sooner we can bring them to the live server (and create observer versions!). Toggy mentioned multiple times already that he will host another 2vs2 tournament if we have observer maps, so if you enjoy 2vs2, please test them out!
You can find the latest list of map changes on the Wiki.

    Promo Vote Results
As mentioned in our last community update, we plan to add a new promo to the game. The vote was locked behind Juggernaut-tier patreon, but we got permission to make it a community vote instead! Even though Sunderer was ahead on our Facebook poll, after collecting all the votes we have a clear winner: the next promo to be added to the game will be Mana Wing.
We received both negative and positive feedback about our plans to add new promo cards. While some people were hyped about the upcoming new content, some felt the choice of promos was unfair, and others said more than one promo card should be added. We would like to remind you again that we are restricted in both time-resources and fitting artwork. We want to add cool stuff, but everything we do, no matter how small, will take time away from other areas. Currently our top priority is getting the new cards to you as soon as possible. We are always open for feedback, but please keep this in mind when voicing your opinions.
We will share the final look and how you will be able to collect the new promo in a later update.

    Tournaments & Events
    NEW: Skylords Open - 14.11.2021

NEW: Official PvE Contest#3 Skylords Raid - Until 27.11.2021

FINISHED: Official 4p rPvE Contest#1 The Bandit Hunt
Our rPvE contest has concluded! We hope you had a lot of fun, and we were glad to see some new players trying on rPvE. We will definitely do this kind of event again, so keep an eye out for that. The winners were announced on Twitch, which you can rewatch here. A big thanks to Volin for helping us with this event!

    • Host your own event / tournament
Want to host a tournament or event? Please reach out to our Event Organizer Hiko to have your event prizes sponsored by us. If you have a cool idea for a PvE event, or want to host a PvP tournament, please don't hesitate to reach out to us, we will gladly assist you.

New Team Members / Open Positions
We have added two new global mods to the team; a warm welcome to Lontzek and Parity! Together with the rest of the mod-team they will make sure everything is running smooth.

We are also happy to add Progamer001 to our team. If you are active on our discord, you might have seen some of his alternative color schemes for units and buildings. He will help us with creating bosses for our rPvE modes and help out with our new cards.

We are in dire need of Balance Developers!
As mentioned in our last Community Update, we are in dire need of Balance Developers. If we do not get new members, we will not be able to release new cards in the future. Balancing will also have to be put on hold and/or drastically reduced.
If you want to help, we would love to have you on our team. Below are two roles highlighted, but you can find more information, desired traits and all our open positions here. If you are unsure if you qualify, please reach out and have a talk!

    Open Position - Balance Developer
As a balance developer you are responsible to implement design changes to in-game cards using our internal balancing tool. In other words, you are responsible to implement new cards and changes to existing cards. These implementation requests can come from balance updates and content patches from our Faction Designers but also from the official Skylords Reborn map making team (for example, new bosses for a new map). An integral part of this role is learning our internal balancing tool, as that is the tool that allows us to perform all these changes. You are by no means required to have any programming experience. More information.
    Open Position - Map Artist
As a map artist you are responsible to polish the aesthetics of a map. This includes texture the map, add decorations and add different effects and sounds. In other words, responsible for making the map look and feel good. More Information.

    In Conclusion
We hope you liked this Community Update, thanks for reading!
As is tradition, this community update comes with a scratch code. But this time you get to choose!
One code will reward you with a mini-booster, the other will give you 100BFP.

Once you select one, the other one will be blocked. Choose wisely!
    100 bfp: COMM-UNIT-YNEW-S14P
    Mini booster: COMM-UNIT-YNEW-S14B
The code is valid till December 3rd.
We will update you again on December 4th. We will reveal another new card, so you don't want to miss it!
As always, we are open to feedback so please let us know!

  3. JarodDempsey liked a post in a topic by SunWu in what do you guys think about these unit classes
I remember that the class system confused me when i started playing BF. I had the feeling that there might be a counter mechanic i'm missing out on. Now it rather feels like something the original devs thought has to be in the game but then didn't put too many thought into.

Dang this looks all just so awesome, i cant wait to see which promo its gonna be, and also hyped to see what kind of changes you are gonna bring to my most favorite fire card Moloch. The artwork looks mindblowing, extremely well done.
Just one more thing, i think everyone who has been working on skylords reborn, can and should be extremely proud of their work. This whole project is just getting better and better and its fascinating, keep up the great work!

    Greetings Skylords!

It's been three weeks since our last community update so it's time to bring you up to speed with everything going on in Skylords Reborn!
There are a lot of exciting things to talk about, so lets get started!

As we mentioned in an earlier community update, new cards are in development. We are very excited to show you the first one today!
Please note: We are still testing the card. While we are generally happy about it and feel comfortable revealing it, numbers and effects might still change. We hope to release this card before the end of the year and will share more information at a later date.
New Card Reveal: "Coat of Protection"

Coat of Protection will be a pure-frost tier 4 arcane spell. Upgrading the card reduces its cooldown (-10 sec), increases the number of targets (+2) and reduces powercost (-15). It will be uncommon and come in two affinities, each having a different effect.
    Frost affinity:
    Blessed Shielding
Activate to wrap up to 6/6/8/8 friendly units in a 25m radius in an Ice Shield. Each Ice Shield absorbs up to 1800 damage for 30 seconds and can be strengthened to absorb up to 2500 damage. Reusable every 30/20/20/20 seconds.
    Shadow affinity:
    Tainted Shielding
Activate to wrap up to 6/6/8/8 friendly units in a 25m radius in an Ice Shield that initially absorbs up to 2500 damage, but slowly decays by 100 strength every second. Lasts until Ice Shield is depleted. Reusable every 30/20/20/20 seconds.
Coat of Protection, alongside changes coming to the card Ice Age, will continue our pure frost rework and allow for further sustainability and shield play styles in PvE. We are excited to bring brand new cards into the game and would love to hear your thoughts!
    Artwork
The artwork has been designed by our talented artist Tweeto. Even though it looks great on the card, it does not do justice to the full piece. Can you spot all the cool little details?

A lot of time and changes went into the artwork, which can be seen in the time-lapse bellow. A big thanks to Tweeto for constantly accepting feedback and improving the artwork. We are really happy with the final result, and hope you are too!

    Vote for cardnames
During testing we came up with the cardname ''Coat of Protection'', and abilities named ''Blessed Shielding'' and ''Tainted Shielding''. However, part of our promise to our patreons is to let them help with naming new cards based on suggestions from the community. For this, we will need your help!
Please reply in the comments below what you feel is the perfect cardname for this card, and how you would name the ability. Please note that Blessed and Tainted are part of the affinity name, and will not be changed.

    Example:
    Name: Coat of Protection
    Ability: Tainted/Blessed Shielding
Please only suggest one name. We will collect all the suggestions and let our Avatar-of-Frost-tier (and higher) patreons vote for the final name.

    New Promo
Speaking of patreon, we have reached out to our Juggernaut-tier patreon for a vote for the next promo card to make it into the game!
We offered 5 options (restricted by fitting artwork we have available) and asked them to vote for their favorite. The options are:

    - Promo Sunderer
    - Promo Manawing
    - Promo Moloch*
    - Promo Deathray
    - Promo Skyelf Commander*
The images below are mock-ups and might receive changes to fit with the new promo-look. Cards with a * will receive buffs in the future.

We will share the results and how you will be able to collect the new promo in a later update.

    Voice-actor positions are now open
As mentioned in the last community update, we are planning to add new (English) voice-lines into the game, and for that we need voice-actors! We will need both male and female voices. To apply, follow the instructions below and send in your recording per e-mail as a single MP3 file per role you apply for, keeping a pause between the lines. To get a feel for your sound, we included only a couple of different lines for you to record. If we feel you are a match, we will get in contact with you for the full script.
    How to apply

    Available voice-line roles
    Brannoc, Rogan, Moon, Viridya
If you sound exactly like Brannoc, Rogan, Moon or Viridya, we would definitly be interested in working together! For your application, please reference a few lines from them that are currently in the game (attached below) and try to sound as close as possible in your recording.
    Female: Moon
    Female: Viridya
    Male: Brannoc
    Male: Rogan
For our new cards, we also will be in need of new voice-lines. For each line we have included a preferred mood/tone-of-voice. Read the background info and try to make the character come to life.
    Male: A - Voiceline Bandit
    Male: B - Voiceline Bandit
    Male: C - Voiceline Amii
    Female: D - Voiceline Amii
We expect to need a few weeks to collect and review all the voicelines. We hope you consider applying!

    Tournaments & Events
NEW: Official 4p rPvE Contest#1 The Bandit Hunt
Last week our official rPvE contest started, which will run until 25-10-2021. Create a team of four players, each playing a different color, and compete in the rPvE map of the month on difficulty 9 for the fastest time. All the rules can be found here. Due to the high amount of players already joining, we have even increased the prize support already. A big thanks to Volin for helping us with this event! The winners will be revealed on a live stream on our official Twitch channel on November 7th.

FINISHED: Official PvP Rookie Tournament#1: Clashes of Swords
Our first official Rookie tournament was a great success! 50 players entered the ring, with many new players for their first PvP-experience. The tournament was streamed live and you can rewatch it on our official Twitch channel. We will definitely host more rookie tournaments, so look forward to those!

As you can see, we are actively developing exciting new cards and game modes, but we would love to speed up the progress. If you want to help, we would love to have you on our team. Below are three roles highlighted, but you can find more information, desired traits and all our open positions here. If you are unsure if you qualify, please reach out and have a talk! We are in dire need of Balance developers!

    Open Position - Client Developer
As a game client developer you are responsible to maintain and develop the game client. This mostly includes add new pre-game features (content outside of matches, so no game mechanics) through .pak files used by the game. You will be responsible to create and design in-game interfaces for new features, add networking support for new features that require it, solve bugs etc. using LUA, XML and little bit of Rust. BattleForge uses LUA and XML in their .pak files which are loaded by the client. Communication with the server happens through a proxy written in Rust. More information.

    Open Position - Voice actor
    See information above.

    In Conclusion

    Patch #400030
    Greetings Skylords, Skyladies and Skyfolk!
This update contains our third balance patch for the game alonside some other changes, enjoy! In this patch we put our main focus on making Pure Frost a more competitive deck in PvE and on improving the balance of PvP. All of these changes were implemented and tested in the last four months, so it's built up to be quite a big patch. Feedback to these changes can be given on the balancing discord. When you give feedback make sure to properly support your reasoning by including replays or video footage.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Where are balance changes discussed?
For now we have a Discord server dedicated for this. An invite link to the server: https://discord.gg/NvSUwpf
How can I join the test server?
To join the test server you simply need to launch LauncherTest.exe located in your BattleForge installation folder. It is important you run the updater first, so you download the latest test server files. In the future we plan to make it easier to join the test server.

A detailed list of all changes can be found on our wiki. However, since the patch notes are quite long, we prepared a summary document for you! You can find it attached to this post. Patch #400030 - September 2021.pdf

    Greetings Skylords!

It's been two weeks already since our last community update so it's time to bring you up to speed with everything going on in Skylords Reborn!

Share your feedback, get a booster!
You are currently reading the 10th Community Update! We hope you find these updates interesting, whether you are an active player or someone who wants to keep an eye on the project.
Time for some reflection and feedback. Last month we asked for your feedback regarding the Official PvE contests, but this time we want to know your opinion about Skylords Reborn in general. What do you like? What could be better? We want to keep improving the game and growing our playerbase, and your feedback is crucial for us.
Please give us your feedback here. As a thank you there will be a booster for everyone who fills in the survey. Your feedback will be anonymous.

    Next Patch Soontm
Our next patch is finally nearing completion! We expect the full patch to hit the test server at the end of this weekend. Once we are sure no bugs are within these changes, we plan to patch to live as soon as possible. There are truly a ton of changes in this patch, resulting in the patch notes already being 12 pages long, excluding bug and description changes!
We will post the patch notes on our Patreon first, but of course we will share the full notes with everyone when the patch goes live on our main servers. And for those who are wondering; yes, Ravenheart will finally get its rework this patch.

A discussion of upcoming map changes
The Skylords Reborn team recently discussed changes to PvE campaign maps. The goal of these changes would be to maintain the identity of the map as closely as possible while improving aspects such as major exploits, unused sections of maps, and problem areas where players feel forced to "break" the map to play it.
It is important to note that all of these changes are proposals, none of them are guaranteed to be implemented! We do not want to make changes to something as fundamental as campaign maps without input from the community and what they want to see or not see change-wise.
Please discuss what you think of the proposed changes and share your ideas in this topic or the discord.
You can find all of the proposed changes in the attached PDF.
    Proposed Upcoming PvE Map Changes.pdf

    PvP Improvements in development

We are also looking at ways to make it easier to find matches in PvP. One of the low-hanging fruits here is better rewards. Currently, the reward system is heavily favoring playing PvE over PvP. The low number of players currently playing PvP also isn't helping with completing Daily PvP Quests, and can cause for a lot of idle time for players. To counter this and reward players for playing PvP, we are currently looking into options like draining the BFP-reserve while being in the ranked queue.
Another nice feature we are working on are PvP Happy Hours. During specific time periods, players will receive additional rewards playing PvP. We notice the current PvP is quite scattered, with a lot of players wanting to play, but going offline again when they cant find opponents. We hope that by clustering those players together during certain time frames, we can encourage the PvP scene. As mentioned in a previous Community Update, it will soon also be possible to still see sparring lobbies while being in the ranked queue, without having to cancel your matchmaking. We also expect the next balance patch to cause a breath of fresh air.
Currently we are planning to offer Happy Hours for both 1vs1 and 2vs2. During Happy Hours, there will be an in-game announcement and the icon on the world map will indicate Happy Hours are active. When we have fleshed out our ideas a bit more, we will announce more details.

    Tournaments & Events
    • Finished: Community Tournament: Toggy's Tome Tournament - August 22th
Last weekend Toggy hosted another Tome tournament, meaning players had to build a deck from a selection of random cards and play PvP matches with them. You can rewatch the stream here in case you missed it.

We have a new Map Tester! We are very happy to welcome Rawne!
At the same time we are sad to see our balance developer Razeroc go. We want to thank him again for all the hard work he put into the project, and we hope to still see you in the forge from time to time!

We could definitely need some more help with the Skylords Reborn project however.
Below are three roles highlighted, but you can find more information, desired traits and all our open positions here.
If you are unsure if you qualify, please reach out and have a talk!

    Open Position - Map Artist
As a map artist you are responsible to polish the aesthetics of a map. This includes texture the map, add decorations and add different effects and sounds. In other words, responsible for making the map look and feel good.

    In Conclusion
    Thanks for reading!
This marks the 10th Community Update already. Is there anything you wish us to cover in upcoming community updates? How do you feel about the structure of the updates? As always, we are open to feedback so please let us know!

So godsent that most topplayers didn't even consider using it
No, witchclaw is inferior - useless ability, squad of two (half dmg once at a certain HP), only 2 can attack a well

Edit: I'm gonna stop here now, at this point it's just you venting and being wrong most of the time (when it comes to facts and not opinion, totally respect you not liking the change, hate how you handle it)
  14. MrDanilov liked a post in a topic by SunWu in Wintertide Red: What were you guys thinking?
He thinks it's funny that you're complaining about a certain niche use not being available anymore and then turn around and say ,,I feel its problematic to balance things base on such niche situation''. You see the contradiction. And while killing XL units with S units and wintertide IS a niche situation, dread vs MAs in pvp is not, it's a standard scenario.
  15. MrDanilov liked a post in a topic by SunWu in Wintertide Red: What were you guys thinking?
    It's really not that complicated:
Frost is the strongest in close well situations. This has nothing to do with playstyle, meta or players adapting to mapping... Ice guardians are just really strong and in close well situations you actually get to use them. Fire and shadow really struggle cause they can't rely on their S sized M counters as usual, cause they get destroyed by master archers.
So: big map bad for frost. Small map good. There's no adapting to that, it's been like that for years. One of the reasons frost was never really popular, a lot of players don't want to be that dependant on rng.
  16. MrDanilov liked a post in a topic by SunWu in Wintertide Red: What were you guys thinking?
You obviously didn't notice they reworked a lot of the maps so that frost now has much better chances of gaining mapcontrol / defending swift rushes.

    Greetings Skylords!

It's been two weeks already since our last community update so it's time to bring you up to speed with everything going on in Skylords Reborn!

This community update is a bit shorter than you have come to expect from us. Every area of development is progressing nicely, but we are currently not in a position where we can share the results just yet. Rest assured new cards are still actively in development, and so are our new game modes. Skylords Reborn is being developed alongside our jobs and studies, and real life can get in the way sometimes. We also don't make any money from the game, since all our Patreon income goes directly toward server upkeep. Some of our team members also struggled with the flood from two weeks ago. We know you are all excited for new content, and we try to provide you with a steady stream of information in these Community Updates, but some tasks might take a bit longer than expected.

    Upcoming Patch
We are still hard at work on our upcoming balance patch to the live servers. Sadly, we are running into some delays because of all the changes that accumulated on the test server and now have to move to the live server. We are now looking at an expected release of mid-august. In our next community update we should be able to provide the patch notes, but you can expect some changes to pure frost (check our deep dive if you haven't already!) and a lot of cool changes for both PvE and PvP.

    Free PvP Decks Adjustments
When Skylords Reborn released in 2020, we introduced our free PvP decks. Every week you can select up to two decks that are fully upgraded and can compete in the PvP meta. For our new players, here is a quick recap:

    - Select the sword on the top right of the menu to select your 2 free PvP decks.
    - Free PvP decks are fully upgraded decks, that can only be used in PvP.
    - You can select two new decks every week, if you want to switch things up.
    - You can freely swap around cards in those decks with cards in your collection to customize the decks to your liking. You can do this by clicking the tab in your inventory on the top left (see the image).

The meta of Skylords Reborn has seen a lot of changes ever since release, with multiple balance patches hitting the live servers. The contents of the free PvP decks did not change with them however. We plan to change that with the next patch*, and will continue to adjust them when new patches hit the server. Below you can find a list of all the changes coming to the free PvP decks. As mentioned above, if you don't want to alter your deck, you can still use your own cards to adjust your list to your liking. Keep in mind some cards might increase in price however, since they will no longer be available in some, or all, of the free PvP decks.

Those changes to the Free PvP decks are planned alongside our new balance patch, planned for release mid-August*. This might give you a bit of a sneak peek at some cards receiving buffs this iteration. We hope you are looking forward to a fresh new meta!
*We do want to make sure changing those decks will not break the game, so they might release a bit later.

    Special Effect Editor
We have made some great progress in the project in a different area: the special effect editor. With this tool we are able to edit the special effects of BattleForge and create new ones from scratch. This is particularly useful for spells, since they are for the majority special effects. Many units also have special effects on their models though, like the flames of Batariel or the frosty cold effect emitted from Frost Mage. We can create complex new effects like Fire Sphere or meteors that leave ice shards on impact. Even though we are currently not able to add new models to the game, this is a great step in allowing us to create new visually appealing content.
The tool is currently still work in progress. After it matures a little and we gain experience creating new special effects, we should barely be limited anymore for creating new special effects.

Yes, this is why it would be horrible to take away the free decks again (like he proposed earlier). PVE still has about 200 cards wich are not OP, but playable. In PvP every colour has only 25-35 viable cards including 15 or more wich are must haves. Some of them are really expensive and without them you can't comepte. The free decks do not only cut down on the grind a lot, but also give a quick instruction on what's meta. (And you really can't compete with non meta decks, take away 2 or 3 random cards from a topplayers deck and he should have problems going ranked with that.)

    Greetings Skylords!

It's been two weeks already since our last community update so it's time to bring you up to speed with everything going on in Skylords Reborn!

    Test Server Patch
A new patch has hit the test server, including another batch of balance changes and adjustments. This patch contains many balancing changes and experimental changes for both PvE and PvP, with Frost specifically getting some love this time. We have also sent the first reworked versions of the 2vs2 maps to the test server!
Please take a look at the patch notes, test them out on the test server and take part in the discussion.
A detailed list of changes with images will become available in the wiki in the upcoming days.
There have now been a couple of patches to the test server, resulting in a big difference between the current state of the game on the live server and the card adjustments on the test server. Which brings us to:

    Upcoming Patch
We are now preparing the next patch for the live servers. It has been a while since our last patch, so expect this to be a big one with tons of balance changes for both PvP and PvE. Because of this, we have quite a bit of work ahead of us and we expect this patch to release in the beginning of August. We hope you are looking forward to a new meta with new strategies to play with.
We will share more information about the specific changes in our next community update on the 31st of July.

    New Cards development update
To manage expectations: we will not release new cards in this upcoming patch. As mentioned in a previous community update, we are currently creating new cards for Bandits (Fire/Shadow), Amii (Nature/Shadow) and Pure Frost.
New card development is going well, but we are treading new territory here and want to take our time to make sure our first new cards are the best they could be. This still could take quite a while, but please rest assured we are working hard to give you some cool new cards to play with!
Meanwhile we are continuing rolling out balance patches to give underplayed cards some love, and offer you new strategies and options for all the factions in the game. New cards can be tools to help fill these specific roles, but we are also looking at adjusting existing cards to reach the desired result.
We are also taking a deep dive into each faction separately, spending a lot of time figuring out what makes the faction tick, its strengths and weaknesses and where it could need some help to allow for a more diverse play style.

    Deep Dive: Pure Frost
Frost has been our primary focus for the past several months and our team is excited to finally get to share our work with the community. Attached you will find a document exploring the Frost faction in detail, including upcoming changes and a tease of our first new card!
While Frost has been the first faction on our list, in the future other factions will also be receiving major changes. As our focus shifts from one faction to another we will continue to provide insights into our thinking through future documents like this one.
We hope this look into Frost has helped you to understand both the faction better and our reasoning behind the upcoming changes.

  20. SunWu liked a post in a topic by Cocofang in QOL and multiple accounts
Not to mention Activision Blizzard is more than happy to let people use multiple accounts because that means multiple subscriptions. They are multi-dipping individual power users for extra cash. And even then they eventually decided that they have to at least crack down on automated multiboxing because, you guessed it, it provided too big of an advantage over anyone not doing it. Sure, in their case it was purely a business decision. They probably noticed increasing dissatisfaction among the population with only one account that threatened their bottom line more than the multiboxing population benefited it. This simply proves the point that multi accounting that is tied to progression can be extremely troublesome.
You already got an answer from me regarding that but if you want more, I enjoyed the restrictions of having to work with unupgraded and random cards just as much as I now enjoy having a wealth of resources to build decks from. I even often intentionally restrict myself during deckbuilding, using cards that don't normally see use. I liked trying to make what I had work. Overcoming the difficulties despite suboptimal cards. The short- and mid-term goals were really enjoyable. What progression is more lacking are long-term goals and something to do with excess resources.
Please stop pretending like people are getting banned because they innocently want to play the game more. They are getting banned for actively and intentionally undermining the intended design of the progression system in an extremely drastic fashion that would have them advance many times faster than someone that does not. They are not needlessly getting banned. It's not like they are merely trying to get the most out of the progression on their own account. They want to circumvent it entirely.
The example about someone wanting to start fresh because they invested their resources into things they didn't end up enjoying is a bit outlandish. You won't get more gold on a new account, so in both cases, you'd start from 0. On the contrary even, you won't be able to do the content that nets more gold in the beginning, so you'd be even slower. And the "failed" collection can always be liquefied into BFP to buy something else. That scenario you try to sell as the "innocent rookie case for multi accounting" doesn't really exist in that form.
But one big issue I am seeing from this thread is the disregard and lack of understanding for the underlying psychology that game design strives to adhere to. Almost reducing it to surface level statement like "more stuff faster = better" with little context. Psychology is an extraordinarily important aspect that the current design aims to take into account. What is also missing is, more specifically, an analysis about what the current progression system aims to do and how it tries to achieve that. There are also too few to no critical examination of what the issues of proposed adjustments would be. They're merely presented as being "better", which isn't the case at all. Everything has pros and cons, it's a matter of priorities.
One can definitely feel the frustration about progression speed but then it's mostly unguided ranting. It lacks elaborate specifics. All in all, I don't really feel like a lot of helpful thoughts can be salvaged from this. Best anybody can take from this thread is "dissatisfaction noted, guess we can try to figure out something reasonable, maybe". Which, to my understanding, is something that's already actively being worked on.

    State of the Project
It has been a while since we have released an update to the live server. We'd like to take this opportunity to mention a lot of work is going on behind the scenes to bring you some cool stuff in the future. New card development is going well, although it will still take quite a while for them to be ready. We are also making great progress on our balancing patch on the test-server and hope to bring this to live servers soon, resulting in a ton of changes for both PvP and PvE. Our new game modes are also steadily progressing; we are currently working on bosses for our new Defence rPvE mode, and are still working on adding the mono-factions to rPvE. The BattleArena fun PvP mode is currently being fine-tuned and will probably be the first of those to be complete. We are not able to give you release dates on any of these features yet, but we do want you to know we are still working on them for many hours each week and Skylords Reborn is still going strong.

Here are some other things we are working on:

    Map Editor: clean-up
We are doing a big clean-up in the Map Editor that will make it easier to work with.
All the units have been organized in a way that if you use these squads or buildings for making your own maps, you can be sure that your map won't be broken by future balance changes. All the upgrade levels are now also available in the map editor.
We will give a more detailed explanation of all the changes when they go live. We expect to release this in August.
Interested in making maps yourself? Please check out these tutorials!

Map Editor: new extended map settings
In our next test server patch, we will add more options which map makers can use for their custom PvP maps.
This can affect the predefined goals for PvP maps. So far this feature is only useful if you want to define non-standard win conditions for your fun PvP maps. However, we do plan to expand this configuration with more options in the future!
Please note that this new feature is only on the test server so far, and will hit the live servers within the next months! This is an experimental feature, and might break the game in some rare cases.
So far it seems to work, however, please inform us if you encounter any issues after playing a map which uses these new options. Please also let us know if there any other variables we should add to this new configuration!

    Community Maps User Interface
A common complaint for the community maps is the map section UI. Currently, it's hard to find a specific map and it does not really invite you to look for cool maps. We are interested in working on this, but are currently a bit understaffed for the job. If you are interested in helping out with this and similar tasks (progression on worldmap, marketplace rework, etc.), please apply as a client developer and help out the project!

PvP QoL feature: view lobbies while in a ranked queue
PvP players will know this scenario all too well: you see players in the PvP lobby and queue up for ranked. After a while of searching you start to wonder if there are perhaps unranked games being hosted instead. You cancel the queue to look. At that very moment, the host probably had the same idea and cancelled their game to start the ranked queue.
No more we say! We have developed the option to allow a queuing player to browse the lobbies while waiting for an opponent. Change your mind and want to join that Bad Harvest game that just got hosted instead? Well soon you can!
The feature seems to work, but we want to do some final testing to prevent it from breaking games if you cancel and find an opponent at the very same moment. You can expect this feature to hit the live server soon though!

    Upcoming Tournaments
Last week we announced the winners of our official PvE contest on Twitch. If you missed the fun, you can still rewatch the stream there.
We definitely plan to do more events like this, and will take your feedback into account for the next one. Please look forward to announcements on a later date.
    • NEW: Skylords Open #9
Next week (11th of July) marks the return of the Skylords Open! Battle it out in the Skylords Open #9, a 1vs1 community tournament hosted by Toggy, open for everyone, and with prizes! If you want to participate, it helps a lot if you sign-up in advance!

New Team Members / Team Changes
We are happy to announce Carofex has joined the team as a Balance Developer. He will be helping out the project by implementing balance changes, new cards, new enemies in PvE maps, bug fixes for cards, etc.
We are currently in need of a Russian translator. If you can help, please reach out to us!
And as always; if you want to see Skylords Reborn succeed, please take a look at how you can help. There are still some open positions in our team.

    In conclusion
    Thanks for reading!

  22. SunWu liked a post in a topic by Volin in DECK-KIT#2 Stonekin 1/3 - the classical Stonekin (Grinder)
    Hey all,
as the last deck that I showed was more an super-expensive expert deck, let's speak about the most beloved beginner faction this time - Stonekin.
    Prologue:
Even though I don't want to present simple solutions with fixed 20 cards, I have to split the Stonekin topic into 3 parts. There are always nice cards that you can not take because of the limited slots, or other cards that offer other options, but that would be just another deck. Stonekin is a great example.
So that the tension is not quite so unbearable, already the outlook for you:
1/3 will be a classic Stonekin deck with (any row), a macro deck, with a small budget and equally popular among beginners as well as suitable for them.
2/3 will be a bit more expensive and a bit more advanced, taking advantage of the -meta. The deck becomes (slightly) faster, significantly stronger, but in the same measure becomes more "vulnerable" and requires significantly more intervention from the player.
3/3 will follow with the next patch as I have some changes in view on the test server. Here we will focus on the freeze mechanics and build a nice strong, but even more micro-intensive deck. A great fun!
    1/3 Classical Stonekin
Theme/Scope: classic Stonekin deck with (any row), prefering Stonekin-Faction over pure Faction where it makes sense, easy to play

    Playstyle: Macro
    Budget: low budget
    Addresses to beginners

    Core Deck:
(as RPVE Decks mostly happen in T4, every RPVE Deck considering should be done from T4 downwards imo - just to explain my approach)
    - Our scope sets Grinder as core unit as there are only 3 cards in this orb range. The other 2 cards have no value for us here, as they are about defense, a thing that we don't even consider for a second in Battlegrounds. Always forward, never backward.
    - The Grinder is an incredibly good tank, but unfortunately does very little damage - we need a Damage Dealer (DD) and here Gemeye offers itself, more on this below
    - Since we don't have good void manipulation ourselves, we rely more on armies than spells in all tiers. ("more" does not mean only)
    - We use our nice crowd control (CC) spells that we have through all tiers
    - We use large area buffs and heals for maximum efficiency with only a few interventions
    - the 2 dmg Spells that we have speed up killing alot

    T1: Either or
Basically, with any deck, keep the T1/T2/T3 as large as necessary and as small as possible

Nature Start - A classic, the most common start, and yet something to talk about, many do a lot "wrong" here
    - Windweavers (WW), Surge of Light and Ensnaring Roots are usually set and enough for any rpve9. This is the gold standard.
    - Dryad (B) is a great addition, but to me a waste slot as it is not needed. Shaman is a nice Quality of Life (QoL) addition but usually not needed either. If you want to take one of this two cards don't play too much. Usually build not more then 2 Dryads or 2-3 Shamans. For BG10 I would recommend Dryad (B), even more then a Shaman. If you play Dryad (B) I would recommend beginners to switch them to dmg (not using sleeping) it makes them easier to hold in line with your WW.
    - Treespirits or Mana Wings are Rare, aren't they an option to Windweavers? Not a bit, WW are the superior nature allrounder. Mana Wings can be a rare solution against Lost Souls (if you play a MOTM where you know you face LS) as some of their strong units can't attack flying. But this is a too rare case to use Mana Wings as allrounder
    - Melee Units or Amazon are simply no beginner options, please just trust me. Most melee T1 units lead to unintended pulls and Amazon is too weak for BG imo.
    - Other T1 options that are worth mentioning: Mark of the Keeper as Upgrade for BG10, Hurricane is great against S- Units but usually not worth the short T1 stage (nice BG10 Upgrade), Fountain of Rebirth can be a nice addon in 4player groups, solo not worth the pick (BG10 and such... 🙂 )
In BG9 usually bring out 4-6 Windweavers, root smart and have one Surge of Light ready and T2 should be clear. Against LS play 6-8 WW, one of the rare cases where you want to pull enemys to you a bit out of the camp and clean beasts one by one. Fokus your fire a bit and your troops will do better.

Frost Start - the underestimated alternative, a shitload more damage but less sustain
    - Frost Mages mixed with Masterarches in ratios between 1:1 and 1:2 supported by Homesoil/Ice Barrier can handle any BG9. If you choose to go for blue T1 then there is no way around Homesoil/Ice Barrier, use this combination the whole match until late T4 for your Gemeyes
    - again melee tanks are no option in the scope of a beginner deck, though this is a valid option for more sustain melees usually do more harm then they give a benefit (aka unintended pulls)
    - Nice BG10 addons can be: Glyph of Frost, one of the Wintertides, Lightblade (very micro intense), Frost Sorc (very micro intense)
Use your Homesoil (eventual Ice Barrier) to clear T2, ~6 Units deal insane dmg with that support, Barrier can be used to heal units too in some cases.

T2 either or - the opposite of the T1 choice
As we want to make a stonekin Deck, lets go Stonekin with our T2, where we get great options in our faction. As both colors come with some great splash cards at t2 too, we will focus on Stonekin and only go for "mandatory" splash cards, like the omnipresent Oink - never go out without your Oink! 🙂 Again we want to have a most lean T2, so pick at maximum 2 of the following considerable Units:
    - Razorshard (G) is my hidden champion here on the paper he may look not that great (another S-Counter, you need to use ability, delayed damage), but he performs outstanding against most BG9 enemys, he gives your remaining T1 force a nice basic heal that gives a shitload of sustain
    - Crystal Fiend (B) moooore sustain though is audio sucks - a really strong option, but beware that your army does not only consists of supporters and healers, a common "mistake"
    - Stone Tempest a bit fiddly but a good M counter and providing nice CC via his knockback, though in some cases annoying
    - Aggressor - ok'ish unit as L counter if needed, please consider that he is rather a supporter too then a damage dealer
From the Mono color units the following might be worth mentioning: Stormsinger (any) as strong air-counter or Burrower as swift sieger.
As most of the above mentioned are pure supporters or more-supporters keep some/all of your T1 force alive. Usually at T2 a Breeding Ground is not worth (building). After getting mix in - depending on the T3 situation - 0-4 of the above Units. All your T1 options are still viable and your army supported even with your T2 spells now should be fine to deal with anything and everything. The following spells are nice at T2:
    - Oink, as said, never have a deck with a that goes without
    - if you started Frost you still can consider to take a Surge of Light. Usually T1 spells are not worth a T2 slot, this is an exception
    - Matter Mastery, expensive but strong and fun, can be used in combination with Homesoil if you started frost
    - in rare cases: Gravity Surge (B) but Stormsinger would be prolly a better T2 choice for most uses here
    - and finally the big question "to freeze or not to freeze" -> Coldsnap
It is a super strong tool in some rare cases but often used brainless, where it hurts more then it helps. I like to have it with me for seldom super hard T3 camps or to stop a frontline in late match when I am completly on my own. Always have in mind, that freezed enemys only take 50% dmg, which is a very significant penalty. Freeze is very strong against Lost Souls T3 camps, Coldsnap while running in and take out spawner + other buildings to weaken the Lost Vigils.
And please be very careful about freezing units for others, decks that have high burst damage or also rely on triggering their infects can be put in quite a hassle by a single freeze. As a rule of thumb, if you want to help your mates, buff or heal them, but unsolicited freezes are rarely welcome.

    T3  (?)

    Let's speak about void first.
Stonekin has two obvious options here, either Shrine of Memory () or Shrine of Martyrs () that both can be made available at T3, if we stay in the scope of Stonekin and mixed T2. I don't consider Shrine of Martyrs to be usefull in a deck that is not build around freezing, and even then it is doubtful. Shrine of Memory is very weak too, and I think leaving it out at all can be an option, but after hundreds of games with and hundreds without I have the weak feeling that the 2x 100 energy are just about worth the investment.
I find it very difficult to make an absolute statement here, but my cautious recommendation goes in the direction of SoMem, hence the choice of headline ""
As my Stonekin T1/2 units give usually give a very solid mix I tend not to take any T3 units for the usually quite short T3 stage - spells and my remaining force needs to do the job. If you want to take in a unit, it must be something really beneficial like taking in an XL unit like Deepcoil Worm or Deepfang. There are ofc other nice'ish units, but noting that really adds something that you couldn't do with your T1/T2.
You may now say "Hey, it's Stonekin, what about Rageflame/Stone Warrior" and you are right, those give an excellent combo. But still in this deck they would be aliens and not really solve any ugly T4 camp situations for which you would take them in now. I will have a close look on those two in part 3/3 of this "guide".
Spellwise T3 brings two mandatory ones for me, for this deck:
    - Revenge
    - Stone Shell (G)
Easy to use, both stack, and make your already strong force almost invincible.

Next "mandatory" pick: Thunderstorm - a perfect allrounder you want to have with you if you play a green splash. If there is a Shrine of War from your mates, use your Thunderstorm all the time either for waves (don't stop for them) or when you fight camps. Thunderstorm is as Curse of Oink - this card can't be wrong in most of your decks.
Other spells worth mentioning would be
    - Equilibrium (G) if you feel need for more heal, here it is. Usually this should not be needed but can be a nice filler if you feel better with it
Neither Enlightenment nor Frost Shard would add something at T3, so they are not considerable for me.
And now comes the part where opinions differ: Support Buildings
    - Wheels of Gifts are no option for me in this deck whereby I have to emphasize here "for me" just as much as the "no" option. Wheels bind 540 (405 with construction hut) energy that can't be invested in units. Solo even with taking muuuuch time it is hard to reach even the break even point where the wheels are useful. In groups ofc wheels pay out earlier, but are usually not really worth slowing down one player that strong.
The problem is compounded by the nature of the Stonekin faction, as individual units are not as strong here, but they become stronger when combined, having almost 2 units less on the field hurts me a lot there. Another reason for me to do without the wheels is that only one wheel buff is very profitable for ourselves, namely the attack buff.
On easy maps, a skilled Stonekin player doesn't even need a single heal, to buff this further with Wheels (partly it wouldn't even stack) would be absurd for me.
However, I also know my Battlegrounds so well that many factors are no longer random for me, but well predictable, that it is very difficult for me to fully take a beginner's perspective here. 20% is 20% more - and if you feel better to wait 1-2 min and take that 20%, then do it!
    - Healing Gardens - a great buff! But still I rarely play them, as I consider most content well doable if all decks around are build well, it's a bit the same as for the wheels. But again, of course, if you feel the 300 energy for 2 HG is worth it, then play them (in a group). I would also prefer the HG over the Wheels.

      T4
We have 2 Units in our Faction at T4, as both work together well, why not build around them?
    - Grinder is our tank, usually I would only want to have one slot for it and take one of either affinty. Honestly, the fewest will use the skill. But it's not completely useless, though, so give it a try. I therefore slightly prefer the purple. I think having 2 is recommended, the more the better ofc. Grinders benefit greatly from grouping, I would want to set up 2-3 straight up and have 4-5 towards the end, then they are actually almost immortal, especially if you buff them nicely.
    - Both Gemeyes are great for me, I like to have them both. Usually I play 1 green, put out all my purples and play Grinders or further purple Gemeyes when the cooldown is off. I would recommend to charge the purple Gemeye for this deck sooner or later. Ofc the green can be cut if you have other preferences.
    - always leave some energy left for 1-2 spells
Ofc other Units can support this mix, though I don't feel a need for it. Primeval Watcher for example could go as supporter, Giant Wyrm as super budget DD.
The two spells I recommend the most here are Regrowth and Ice Tornado. The former is mandatory in most unit based decks though I don't often feel the need to use it in a Stonekin Deck. The latter is a great damage spell and should be set in the back of most camps, while you fight the frontline. Also it is a nice support for bosses or just as helper to increase dmg on endless crossing fights. Tornado and Thunderstorm should be used all the time if a Shrine of War of a group member is running.
Maelstorm can be an option to get even more sustain, but hey, freezing, we had this topic - be smart when you freeze!
There are other cool spells in this color range, but none that I would consider for this deck

Any more options throughout the the tiers?
    - Incredible Mo is important against LS, if you play random maps make sure there is one around or take yourself (Yellow buff to avoid anti-range debuff)
    - Amii Mon for solo purpose ofc possible
    - construction hut if you considered any of the Buff Buildings or Amii
    - Frost Bite (P) does work on bosses, usually not worth the slot to me but hey it needs to be mentioned

    Bosses you struggle with:
    - Hellhound can be dangerous, avoid to face him with a too small army alone. Keep your buffs up, take out spawner via Tornado and perhaps focus the boss then
    - fear very early Urzachs and Infester, keep your Gemeyes out of range but close enough for your Grinders to count for their passive heal
Any other dangerous situations for this deck:
    - early bosses, especially when you are on your shitty SoMem. Know your deck and retreat if needed in time
    - Ugly T4 situations end in quite a "zerg" - even t3 units do not change much about that
    - usually not a deck I want to bring to BG10 random maps/groups as it is too slow for the given time frame
    - Willzappers in early match, reason enough for me to justfy Matter Mastery (that is useless against Lost Souls)
Personally tested Deck proposals, as always from Spells over Units to Buildings
    BG9 allrounder

    BG10 Solo

    Replays:

    BG9_4pl_motm_Stonekin_noheals
The very easy current motm, I guess I did not even use a regrowth in that match, perhaps one lazy one in the end. If maps are that easy usually this deck cannot ever be beaten.

    BG10_1pl_MOTM_Stonekin
Current super easy motm tempted me to do it with a stonekin - slow but steady, deck above.
I will add a replay of a close and ugly T4 situation (current motm 3/4 comes to my mind) the next days. This is noting you want to have with this deck, but still doable.
    BG9_4pl_MOTM_Stonekin_close_t4_fight
As I have seen many people struggling with this Pos3/4 (I am sitting in 4 here) I was a bit afraid to play it with this deck. A very low rank, Deck lvl 7 sat next to me. He touched every next camp in advance to trigger useless further spawn and brought non-optimal units to the field - a perfect stress-test for our Stonekin deck.
And what shall I say, have a look yourself, we are super-clean t4 in ~8min. Far from being fast, but for this map and situation still rock-solid imo.

If you have feedback, suggestions, nice replays or storys about this deck, please feel free to post below!

As always, all information without guarantee and with strong personal preference.

    See you in the Battlegrounds!
