Speaking of decks, what is really missing is some way to get decks in and out of the game. Usually, in other games, this is done by some "code" that is used to import/export a (deck) setup.
    Ideally, we could have
a link that gives you the deck in a browser, like:  skylords.eu/deck/ERT6343E654FG23SDFERZHSDFS45DG a button in the game, where you enter that code "ERT6343E654FG23SDFERZHSDFS45DG" and it creates this deck for you (a derivative of cloning a deck from someone else) forum integration, like if you have the code you can add <deck>ERT6343E654FG23SDFERZHSDFS45DG</deck>, and it gives you a picture of the deck, when you click on it, you auto-copy the code also a discord bot function, !deck ERT6343E654FG23SDFERZHSDFS45DG gives you the picture as well Right now we are stumbling around in this area, sharing decks with screenshots all the time, so it would be kinda cool to think about a long-term solution for deck sharing.

    Hi,
Since we are trying to include influencers and find ways to make understanding the game a little bit easier, why not utilize the card builder website we already have and integrating it as something more than just a card builder for the BF geeks?
    - Build decks, export and share them with others. bfcards.com/decks/<deck> -- Probably suggested before, but I think it is worth implementing. It would take connecting the website to the db so that users can login and such, but would be a great future. Instead of searching endlessly on the forum for this or that guide, we have it so say, Sykole uploads a meta deck for the campaign map Behind Enemy Lines, and if others like it, they Upvote/Honor Sykole, and at a certain point, Sykole gets a badge of honor for his good deeds. This way Sykole has incentive to post decks with a neat description on how to use them.
This will make it easier for players to browse decks, and even filter them by the cards they have, or limit their price to XX. We can have any kind of filter.
Also, why not make it feel more modern? Say for example, making it seem like we have this personal assistant that helps you decide whether this deck is fit or not. Say the assistant is called Moon, she will ask you, is this deck for rPvE or PvP? What orbs do you want to use? Then suggests cards, and when you finalize the deck, she gives you tips. "Hey, you do not have an XL unit, how about using this card?" or "Perhaps you could use more spells in the deck, why not include those XYZ nature spells since you already have a nature orb?" and so forth. A colorful website, no complicated AI or anything, just ifs and elses to make it happen. This way, also influencers can say, "Hey guys, my deck is below. Use the link to equip it and get a free 300 gold!" -- OR even make it so there are certain rewards/quests. "Use three decks by influencers in a match to get 100 BFP".
    - Slot machine. On the same website, there is a slot machine where if lucky, you get a card shard. Completely free every X days where you get a free spin, and when you get 2 or 3 of the same card shard, you can forge it into a card. You can also buy slot charges with gold or bfp, something along these lines.
    - Use the website and forums more one way or another. If the game engine itself is hard to crack, we make our own with blackjack and bookers. But the song im listening to is over so im out of ideas

Boosters is RNG indeed, however, we plan to keep the game as "family friendly", therefore I doubt any "hazard-like" mechanics will be ever introduced.

    Greetings Skylords!

It's been three weeks since our last community update so it's time to bring you up to speed with everything going on in Skylords Reborn!

Adding new voice-lines into the game
In our last Community Update we made our new Sounds Converter open source in the hopes of improving the sound quality for adding new voice-lines and sounds into the game.
We are happy to tell you we discovered a different, albeit non-optimal, conversion method. Using this new method, we are able to convert certain files in the mp3 format into the snr format required by the game. This allows us to improve the sound quality to a state where we start to feel confident in adding new voice-lines into the game, especially for our upcoming new cards.
There are still a few things to figure out, for example the fact that some sounds are hardcoded into unit models, or how some special voice-lines are triggered. For the former, we are still in need for volunteers for the "3D Tool Developer" role.
However, in the following weeks you can expect a post asking for volunteer voice actors. If you want to make your mark on the Skylords Reborn legacy, this is definitely one way to do so! We will be in need of both male and female voice actors, and will share more info on how to apply soon.

    Open Sourcing effect editor
After our success with open sourcing the Sound Converter, we will now also be open sourcing the Special Effect Editor. As mentioned in a previous Community Update, with this tool we are able to edit the special effects of BattleForge and create new ones from scratch. This is particularly useful for spells, since they are for the majority special effects. Many units also have special effects on their models though, like the flames of Batariel or the frosty cold effect emitted from Frost Mage.
If you want to give it a try or contribute, you can find detailed instructions how you can get started here. You can compile the tool yourself, or just download it here.
If you feel like you got some cool results, please reach out to us. We are looking for some volenteers to help us out with the effects for new cards.

    An update on Defence RPvE
As we mentioned in a previous Community Update, multiple game modes are currently in development. One of them is Defence RPvE. Instead of the normal RPvE where you attack to clear the map of enemies within the time limit, here you have to defend waves of enemies.
We are not ready to release this game mode, since there is still a lot of work to be done.  However, since a lot of people are curious about how it will work, we figured to give you a glimpse of what the mode will look like. Keep in mind these features and mechanics might still change in the future.
DRPvE will be playable by 1 to 4 players. It's a co-op scenario where you will all work towards the same goal. If you play alone or with 2 players, the other spots will not get enemy waves.
You play against one of the 8 enemy factions, randomly chosen. Each of those factions has one custom final boss. For each phase, 3 out of 5 units are randomly chosen from the available options for that faction. This means that even if you play against the same faction twice, you might have a different experience on both runs.
There are 4 phases of enemy attackers, with each phase being concluded by a mini-boss. At this point the current wall will be destroyed and you will unlock the next tech-tier. During the small break you can advance to the next wall and build up new defences.
Each player will also have a switch that can be activated as soon as the mini-boss of the current phase has been spawned. If all players press it, the new phase starts immediately, allowing different timings of RPvE runs.
Each position/lane (see the picture) gets a free unit or units at phase 2.
    Optional objectives
    - There are 2 guarded shrines that cast spells to defend themselves. Destroying those will reward you with global buffs and energy.
    - There are 4 bases, one for each of the dual color factions. Defeating those will reward you a free unit of the corresponding faction.
Below you can see the map. You spawn at the bottom, and slowly make your way to higher placed defence positions.

As mentioned before, we are still hard at work on this game mode. We are currently working on the bosses for this mode and are in need of a Map Artist to work on the look and feel of the map. If you want to help, please reach out to us!
We are curious what you think so far, so please let us know in the comments.

    Patch #400030
    Greetings Skylords, Skyladies and Skyfolk!
This update contains our third balance patch for the game alonside some other changes, enjoy! In this patch we put our main focus on making Pure Frost a more competitive deck in PvE and on improving the balance of PvP. All of these changes were implemented and tested in the last four months, so it's built up to be quite a big patch. Feedback to these changes can be given on the balancing discord. When you give feedback make sure to properly support your reasoning by including replays or video footage.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Where are balance changes discussed?
For now we have a Discord server dedicated for this. An invite link to the server: https://discord.gg/NvSUwpf
How can I join the test server?
To join the test server you simply need to launch LauncherTest.exe located in your BattleForge installation folder. It is important you run the updater first, so you download the latest test server files. In the future we plan to make it easier to join the test server.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Changes
A detailed list of all changes can be found on our wiki. However, since the patch notes are quite long, we prepared a summary document for you! You can find it attached to this post. Patch #400030 - September 2021.pdf

I used the "Stars" system for this example as a placeholder, alot of people encounter the difficulty system in games that is pointed out by stars , self-implying that the more stars the more difficult it is.
It is self explanatory that each map has 3 difficulties with this example, every colored star points out which difficulty you've done.

Now as a further approach to make it easier for players, the lobby could point out the difficulty accompanied by stars as seen in the below example:

As an alternate possibility, the difficulty mentioned followed by stars, to make it even easier for players to understand the stars in the global map.

Brilliant idea. To make it easier to understand, those dots could also be next to the difficulty levels, so for instance the Expert button would have three dots next to it.
Or instead of having one to three dots, it could be one colored dot. Green for completing on Easy, Orange and Red, to signify difficulty. Doesn't take much to notice the pattern after finishing two or three maps.

At the moment the only way to find out which maps you have left to complete on a certain difficulty, is to check the achievement , but even that does not display all of them.
Now looking at the indicator for a player's rank, a simple idea came up, although not sure if it's easy to implement given the limit of the development tools.
When a player completes a campaign map, a small dot or any other indicator that comes to mind can be used to show his progress on that map.
A clearer way of understanding the idea is in the picture below. Each map will have 3 Dots (in my example) for each difficulty completed a dot will appear, with a maximum of 3, making it easier for everyone to understand which maps they have left to play and on which difficulty.

Can be anything from a dot, to a star to w/e would fit.

Sounds fun and what's the prize pool?

There will be two prize pools: Novice and Expert. Submissions will be categorized in one of those two groups depending on how many points the submission has: if the submission has a low amount of points it will be in the Novice group and if it has a high amount of points it will be in the Expert group. We will not disclose in what category a submission belongs, in the case of a draw, the faster time ranks higher. Each group has different rewards and all booster packs are the standard (all-editions) booster packs.

    Expert prize pool

1st place              Promo of your choice   + 4 Booster packs
2nd place             Promo Razorleaf          + 2 Booster packs
    3rd- 8th place     3 Booster packs

    Novice prize pool

    1st place             4 Booster packs
    2nd place            3 Booster packs
    3rd- 8th place    1 Booster packs

    Wait, there is more!
The following award will be given out by the community at the end of the challenge.
Every participant can nominate themselves for the Community Award (only those who apply for the award will be able to win it).

The voting for the winner will take place on Twitch, where we will reveal the contest winners as well.

    The Community Award:

    The Creative Kill

The One who showed the Twilight Infester their dominance.
--> Kill the final boss as uniquely as possible.
For example: try not to use the same units as another participant for the final kill.
This will decrease the chance for both of you to win this category.
     4 Booster packs

    In conclusion
This event is unlike anything we have done so far, so it might be a bit overwhelming. Here is in simple steps what you must do to participate:
    - The map to play on is Siege of Hope on Expert Difficulty
    - Look at the categories and points you wish to achieve and do your best to clear the map earning as many points as possible.
    - Once you are satisfied with your result, DM (Minashigo Hiko#1126 in Discord) or PM (in forum) your best replay to me. You can only send in once.
    - Make sure to add a description of the categories (points) you went for and completed!
    - If you want to apply for the community reward (The Creative Kill), make sure to mention that as well.
    - Wait until the end of the contest (15.06.2021 23:59 CEST) to see if you have won some prizes!
    - We will announce them in a stream on the 26.06.2021 19:00 CEST

    Future events
If you are interested in creating events like this for the community or if you want to help with creating events, don't be afraid and simply send me a direct message via Discord (name as above) or a PM to me on the forum. We are happy to assist you with upcoming events and with sponsoring your prize pool!
We hope you have a lot of fun with this event. We are looking forward to all your replays!
Please do not hesitate to ask, if you have any questions.

    Best regards,

    Hi,
Apparently since something like the booster history, which requires a database connection and client modification, can be developed at a time like this when it is (I assume) a low priority project with no impact on the game at all, then you now have a surplus of developers to afford working on such minor things?
If so, here goes another idea I had but didn't share due to limitations.
Name: Forging (Comes from BattleForge, duh)
Function: Allows players to forge cards, boosters, and cosmetic collectables.
    Features:
    - Shards: Can be forged into a random reward.
    - Enhancers: XP and Gold boosters.
    - Cosmetics: New legacy and time-limited avatars, titles (Like PvE/PvP ranks), name colors on the player list the same way as GMs. It could even extend to the forum where you get a special usertitle.
    How it works:
    - Shards: Winning a game, you have a chance to earn a shard. Three shards and you can forge them into a random reward, which can be a booster, random card or a cosmetic. Of course, it can be far more intricate than this, so if you want my detailed plan, sure. This post is just the basics. All within a single tab in the client. A couple of buttons and a few images, all the magic happens in the background in the server (really basic stuff though, a simple database and an RNG).
    - Enhancers: Super simple yet I don't see why it isn't being added. "You have an XP booster for 4 hours". Can be 1.2x multiplier, or even a more advanced system where it scales with your rank. The higher your rank, the higher the multiplier, but the lower the time the booster lasts for. Can be purchasable with Gold or earned with Shards, or by levelling up. It's temporary boosters of course, noting permanent. The point is to increase play time.
    - Cosmetics: A whole new world. Just add more unique and legacy items, like a golden border your avatar for instance. I assume that can be done. Whatever avatar you have is the same way it is, but if the server's packet for the avatar ID is like, "34_0" -> Then you'd have a golden border, since the "_0" is an identifier for golden border, and a LUA script can pick that up. If not, then just introduce new, limited-time avatars. Crop the face of a character from an oil painting of the game for instance, from the loading screens.

Honestly, I can't be bothered to make a more detailed or bigger post because it will most likely die like always and go unnoticed. If you want more information about the technicalities, implementation strategy, or the mechanisms and their effects, let me know and I will reply. I can even make a prototype for you. Peace.

I don't remember us being on good terms, but you did help the project throughout the years and stepped up with Hawk to take the lead, so thanks for your work.
    Best of luck in life.
