Season 3 - 5.2 challenge

Good afternoon,

I'm having a hard time with the 5.2 challenge of the 3rd season : win soultree map on expert under 18 min.

I wonder if the strategy is to spam shadow phoenix to be the fastest. And to pass first waves if I need to abuse nightguards to take control of crabs.

Hello Speedrun Community,

with Patch #400035 the in-game rankings were reset due to substantial balancing changes, rendering the majority of previous records unachievable. The old forum post where the all-time records were tracked has been archived here.

With Patch #400049 times achieved before the resets were again made available in-game.

Below is a comprehensive overview of the all-time fastest speedrun rankings since the official release, as they can be found in-game. The following criteria determine the rank 1 entry in order of importance:

Unless stated otherwise, times are achieved on Expert+ (8) [RPVE] / Expert [Campaign] difficulty.

Disclaimer: Not all times shown below are necessarily still achievable due to balancing changes. Additionally, please note that only the Map of the Month (MotM) is eligible for Random PvE ranking entries and hence each month a different randomly generated PVE scenario takes its place.

Season 3: 2.3 Mo without units

Not sure if anybody else is struggling with this but here is my replay... my strategy did not work as planned but I was able to slowly grind down the map.
So while I am sure there are better ways, here is at least one that should work for everyone who has a lot of time.

Lost Soul Deck Needs A Big Fat Nerf (RPVE)

85% power reduction through altar of nihil? Use that to turn into a massive (and nearly free) T4 army via revenants with that banestone building? And I've seen people teleport across large cliffed/separated map area's using those banestones, what's with that? A litter powercreep is one thing but this is ridiculous, it makes RPVE boring as by comparison his deck seems to make the old OP batariel look like a treespirit, and it basically makes them solo Advanced++ while the rest just watches, lol. Big nerf please, it takes away the fun for other decks

Challenge 5.4 Advice?

We are currently trying to do challenge 5.4, playing duo. It's.. extremely tough? We beat it on difficulty 3 so far with reasonably few attempts, but even just difficulty 4 seems insanely hard. Probably doable with a good map, but restarting rPvE a douzen or so times to get a bandit seed just to then lose to a bad map layout or enemy variations is extremely frustrating. I would imagine this to be a lot easier if the map of the month was decent, so you could tailor your deck to the map - tho not like there is that much wiggle room with just T2 cards either. Maybe we just suck. We feel like T2 fire is just not strong enough in terms of survivability / options. We also struggle with fliers a lot on maps that spamm them, since pre-T3 fire seems to be decently weak against fliers in general.

Our current approach is strikers for T1, which easily works to clear T3 or even T4 with fire force (B) and some artillery support. But from our experience that's where their survivability ends, since soon enough stuff will deal so much damage so quickly that they just all wipe. Be it from T4 units, or certain bosses like the Twins (bandit horses). And then without a frontline it's kinda hard to keep the damage dealers alive. We do check camps and if there is troublesome units in them, pull them into, say, towers or morkley traps, but this is not always possible - and sometimes you just get attacked from 3 sides at the same time. We usually run out of time with 2-3 camps left on difficulty 4 on decent maps.

Any advice is welcome. Be it strategies, meta knowledge, or just telling us to get good lol. There is probably people who did this on difficulty 8, which seems impossible even conceptually to us^^

Hi All,

Sooo.... I've recently got SR working on my pc again and loving the new maps, cards etc but how do you find out which maps you havent completed in each of the dificulty categories?

I'm currently showing that I've completed 26/29 advanced maps and I don't know where to look to find out which ones I need to complete. Sadly I haveony completed 2/29 in expert mode.

Any help finding this info would be much appreciated.

I'm wondering if someone managed to pass under the 3 minutes limit for 2.9 challenge ?

As a reminder :

Win a random PvE scenario in under 10 / 8 / 7 / 5 / 4 / 3 minutes on any difficulty, with all team members playing only Fire cards. Completing the challenge more quickly awards progressively more points.

I'm trying to spam strikers + eruption and suppression for towers but the best I could do is around 5min50. Is there a technique so you can do it ? I suppose It's impossible to go for T2 as 3 min is way too short right ?

Anyway if someone has tips or strategy for this I would be grateful 😉

Bad Harvest Pos 3 - Challenge 2.8 (No twilight edition)

Short strategic synopsis:
Create 2-3 nomads to rush to the wagon
Create 1-2 wells while going T2, once you got a well delete your nomads for void power. Build a Rioter's retreat ASAP and erect the northern wall ASAP
Place commandos on the wall. And use Bandit Spearmen + bandit minefield to fend off the Grinder wave that arrives at 2:30 min

Next get to 4 wells if you haven't already then go T3 and get a Corsair. Use the ability to get Banditos and use Fire Force. This should be enough to the 2nd wave. This should be stabilizing enough for T4 to secure with bandit artillery.

Expanded strategic synopsis:

Core cards

- Nomads: I have seen some badass walking to the wagon with ice mages before but please don't try this with Firesworn...

- Rioter's retreat(Green): This will be your key card glues everything together. Your Commandos and Bandit Spearmen will be very durable under its

- Commandos (Blue): Combined with Rioter's Retreat and you will be able to defeat many of the smaller waves with these 2 alone. In a pinch it can even take a few hits from Grinder when it comes to it.

- Bandit Spearmen (Blue): The most dangerous early game enemies are all melee. Combined with Fire Force under Rioter's retreat and you have some exceptional durable melee units.

- Bandit Sorcercess (Blue): I had some internal debating whether i want to consider this a 'core' card but it gives so much safety to the strategy that i decided to add it in. Especially early on it allows for Rioter's retreat takes a few extra hits from Grinder or Deepfang in desperate situations.

- Corsair (Green): Gives you extra bodies and a powerfull flying ranged unit that can deal with Grinder and Deepfang. I'm afraid we're going to need this relatively expensive card, it's only T3 card i've found that synergized well with Rioter's retreat and powerfull enough to deal with both Grinder and Deepfang.

- Bandit Minefield: Does a lot of damage for only 70 power and gets rid of the smallers units really quickly.

- Fire Force (Blue): Combined with Rioter's retreat; your melee unit can even tank Deepfang for a duration, make sure to not let the designated fire leader die.

- Artillery (both affinity): Get BOTH, there are not enough charges to sufficiently finalize the defences for both the wagon and south, add in Bandit Sorceress as an another layer of safety.

- Amok: It's your only form of CC and a way to help your team across the map, your life will be a lot easier with this card.

Gameplay:
Despite my best attempts there will be some variance but even in the replay shows that a rough start makes the challenge still doable. This is a tough challenge, there is no shame is asking for help. This guide assumes the convention of other players defending your base is adhered to.

The first major strategic objective after reaching the wagon is to survive the 2:30 wave with Grinder and the 2nd wave at 07:00 consisting of Grinder and Deepfang. After those 2 major difficulty curves are dealt with, the rest of the game should be relatively easy.

Use the nomads to go to the wagon, i used 2 in the replay but as you can see it's rather risky. If you want to play safer then have some power in the reserve to summon an another nomad or 2 in an area that isn't bogged down. After they arrive at the wagon, go to the north sets of monument and power wells and get 1 or 2 wells depending how well this process went.

Go to T2 and get the wall up along with Rioter's retreat, be sure position it somewhere farther in the back to give room for your melee units to move around. Add in Commandos to the wall to absorb the Crystalfriend attack. If possible add Bandit sorceress to the Rioter's retreat. Then summon the Bandit Spearmens wherever appropiate and try to conquer and divide by selectively pulling aggro, the wall should distract some of the Stonekin. Use Bandit minefields to rack up additional damage as the other units tie down the Stonekin. This should leave you with enough room to respond to any developments down south as well.

After defeating the first major wave, get to 4-5 wells if you haven't already and go T3 and summon corsair. Use the ability of Corsair for Banditos and use Fire Force on one of the melee units. Under Rioter's retreat they should be able to last a decent time against Deepfang and Grinder.

Get up to atleast 10 wells before going into T4. Secure your position with Artillery and use the Bandit Sorcercess for bonus 'set and forget' points although Gem Eye will always dent your defences. From this point on, you're free to do respond to your team's need and/or pursue the in-game objective.

Budget 4-player rPVE Pure fire

Solid rPVE, tested up untill ADV++ (6). All cards are below 200 bfp with many around 100 bfp.

The core strategy of this is deck is centered around Fire Worm.

1. Activate Shrine of War

2. Move in your fire worms

3. Cast fire sphere and other spells

4. Finish the rest off with bloodthirst + attack and/or earthshaker

Road to T4:

T1: Summon 4 Strikers to activate their ability and erupt where neccesary. Use fire bombs to deal with flying units or expedite the destruction of enemies.

T2-T3: Fire force makes your Strikers very durable and should be enough to get you to T4 but Magma hurlers + unity are also solid backups.

T4: Build Shrine of Glory and delete units. Build 2 Shrine of War (I personally hotkey them to 2 & 3). After summoning 2-3 Fire worms and have 200 power in reserve for spells, you can move out and execute the core strategy.

Notes on Lost Souls:
- By far the toughest challenge will be the early game Vigils. Prepare 2-3 Blaster cannons and lure them to your base. Incase you secured T2, use Gladiatrix together with Strikers deal with Vigils (also usefull against Treefiends)
- Another challenge is posed by Lost Dragons. I can give all sorts of convoluted tricks but the best advice for beginners i can say is to lean onto your teammate and use Fire Sphere where possible. Incase that's not an option; use Ember Strikers to lead the front to absorb the silence. Just be lucky that the current MotM (50%+ XL boost) doesn't apply to Lost Souls for now 😛

Potential Upgrades:
Mines > Fire bombs
Inferno > Virtuoso
Batariel > Ember Striker
Fire Dancer > Fire Stalkers
Disenchant > Ravage
Anything > Banner of Glory

If anyone knows a budget solution to Lost Dragon (preferably below 200 bfp) that preserves the pure fire challenge then let me know!

Point of discussion: I did think about suggesting Comet Catchers but that's a lot of bound power together with Shrine of War and might overwhelm the intended beginner audience. Furthermore it doesn't cleanly one-shot a Lost Dragon.

Took care to mostly avoid overly expensive cards BFP wise (like Spitfire). While I used Thunder wagons for firepower against Ravenships, they're optional.
Core cards:
- Any swift units, preferably nomads to avoid edge cases against artillery.
- Magma hurlers + Undying breed. Unity comes close to mandatory.
- Fire dragons + bloodthirst. Earthshaker and firespheres will also make your life easy, one of the two is strongly recommended.

Strategy in short:

Wait untill the Twillight breaches the rightmost wall segment. Latest is the 1st abom spawn. Secure the fire emitter and activate it. Nomads sneaks into the wall segment (wallbreak if neccesary) without artillery fire.
Congrats, you skipped T2. Magma hurler + melee to secure T4. Optimizing Undying breed is crucial to build T4 army.
Fire Dragon + Emberstriker + Bloodthirst should secure the rest.
Deck is not meant to defend the emitter, only delay.
Rest of deck is free-style.

Pure fire Titans - Budget-ish edition

Took care to mostly avoid overly expensive cards BFP wise (like Spitfire). While I used Thunder wagons for firepower, they're optional.
Core cards:
- T1 Nomads(R), fire bombs (to deal with Deep Ones), Makeshift tower
- T2 Fire Stalkers, lava field
- T3, Magma hurlers + unity. Use Spitfire by preference but Voodoo shack at your starting is also a viable substitute to destroy MoTK and several other buildings
- T4, technically free style but Fire dragons + Bloodthirst is strongly preferred.

Strategy in short:
Description is mostly for Pos 4 since it's the most difficult. I suggest going north first since it has 4 wells.
Red Nomads are used to 2-shot the Swamp drake. Go in with 4 Nomads incase 1 gets caught by Deep One or sniped by Living tower.
Use fire stalkers + spells to clear your way to T3.
Use Magma hurlers + Unity to get through the rest. Use by preference Spitfire but Voodoo shack can also be used from your starting position.
Finish off with fire dragons + bloodthirst.
Note:Jorne can be blocked with buildings at entry.

Bad Harvest exp solo help

I'm using strategy that Minoxen was commenting, but using time vortex instead of swapping bandit sniper(since nerf you can't use nightguard on him) and it's works fine. My problem comes from shaman/archers that come later at south path. Shaman heals some units and starts to attack templar if i try to relocate templar to redirect aggro from her and use second sigil then whole army start to murder other sigils as well. Same goes with archers, 1 pack just ignores sigil and attacks templar. Any ideas how to improve or just different strategy? I tried building first sigil some pixels to the left/right/up/down, but it didn't help. I gave up after ~40 restarts from the same spot.

Shadow T1 strategy for 4player rPvE 7

Of all four factions, I have not been able to devise a shadow T1 strategy that consistently works at destroying spawners without the need of teammate assistance. The best I can do is to use unholy armor skeleton warriors to try to lure the enemies while forsaken attack the spawners, but this doesn't work very well if the spawner happens to be far in the back from the front enemy (and therefore aggression zone) because it forces the forsaken to slowly walk further and through a crowd while they take damage. Attempts to kill most of the enemies before respawning doesn't work so great either in situations where you are mostly facing small units, since both skeleton warriors and forsaken are M counters.

I tried witchclaws, but they tend to be worse. Often times they die before they can explode, and attempting to get the max corpse without triggering aggression and enemy spawns requires a lot of power input, even when considering embalmer's shrine. Plus using witchclaws means I can't use soulsplicer as a fallback due to them stealing corpses that would otherwise be needed for the soul splicer.

And I am not even talking about lost souls.

Twilight Curse is used on the Rightmost ship to end the map earlier. The only tricky part of this is killing the first camp, if you dodge the first tower shot, or only lose one unit, you can just attack-move the rest.

Optional Cards: Skyfire Drake can be traded for suppression, a defensive tower, or oink if you prefer.

Take your time at start. Get Magma Hurler, Crush game with Magma Hurler/Unity. For the end, let a few skyfires stand in the middle without specific orders and they will keep the spirits clear while the Hurlers kill the boss.

Optional cards: I guess t1 and t2 are optional, whatever you want to use to get to Hurler/Unity. Could also be done with Swamp Drake of course, so I guess the entire deck is optional :).

Im getting overwhelmed by the cultists on the lower part of the map.
I've tried Forst, Bandit and root Nature and I just cant get a good base going.

Haven't seen anyone post this or make a video for it. After 30x fails managed to do it with even some time left. No Mark of the Keeper and T1 Frost instead of Nature. I only play Frost/Nature and T1 Frost so I can't speak on other Element solutions.

Eliminating the first camp stops Twilight Firedancers from spawning, making getting through and the Southern defense easier. Don't think Bedrock is necessary. Imperials are better against the Crawlers but didn't want to waste the card slot.

I play Skylords mostly on weekends and so I find myself being pretty average player, so for now as I'm tinkering with my decks I'm mostly playing solo, occasionally duo pve maps on standard difficulties.

The scaling between the difficulties seems pretty weird as Standard is the easy one but occasionally still surprises me with something, then Standard+ difficulty is wildly inconsistent as game will just game over me with absurd spawn waves or mixed factions if it decides to, and Standard++ actually is more consistent and easier to deal with, at least in my experience.

The point though is that every now and then (every 5-6 maps I play maybe?) the map generation freaks out a bit and it glues together two monument camps, the T2 one with T3 camp that already has mid game spawns sitting in it. The moment you clear out the T2 camp, patrol waves from all subsequent camps start sweeping towards your starting position, and when they catch you at the T2 camp fighting them will pull units from the T3 camp (sometimes this will also happen by towers having very long range and pulling units in the camp just by shooting at you from the other camp). This results in a massive brawl that forces you to attack the T3 camp head on with whatever you have at the moment (with T2 monument likely still in construction) or you're going to get constantly mobbed, and losing the brawl means your T2 monument gets destroyed and you're back to square one in your starting zone, except now it's getting regularily besieged by patrol waves that don't allow you to do anything.

RPVE: Bandit Encounter Frequency and Difficulty

I wanted to inquire if there have been any recent changes to the RPVE system. I encountered bandits consecutively about 7 or 8 times in a row. Not a single time Fire, Nature or LS.

Unfortunately, there’s very little interest or enjoyment in facing the bandits, considering how shockingly weak they are compared to other colors.

Hi guys, recently joined Skylords and made a post saying I wanted a Lost Soul Deck after spending quite few BF on stonekin cards, but I builded a LS deck anyways without the warlord. Bough the Lost Dragon and the LSS and well, my feeling on T2 is better thanks to Lost Shades and their passive and Lost Launcher. However from T3 and onwards felt like a massive downgrade. Not because the units, I love Horror and Grigori, but been missing equilibrium, hammerfall and stone launcher A LOT. Lost Disruptor is pretty bad only affecting Flyers. Also on T4 as long as LSS is very good, is quite weak, Lost Dragon feels pretty bad overall and since I had no more BF couldn't try Warlord, I just know Gemeye is pretty good and Grinder is freaking op, and both are also cheap to buy + the biggest game changer, Regrowth.

So then I realize, wait, if I get rid of the Dragon, which is not that good, I can keep the same build till T3, add Grimvine (cheap too) instead Grinder and keep everything else, and now I feel the deck is way stronger, but is sad cause I wanted a pure Lost Soul deck, but seems the lack of sustain really hits and there's no point.

I'm not using NEVER the reviving thing of the Lost Soul, to me is not worth cause you can make more units instead, unless I'm doing something wrong, what's the point of this? Which combo would be good to make this useful ingame.

Btw, I'm talking about the PVE campaign. Is what I'm currently doing. But almost finished, I guess rPvE is the next?

Hi guys, first of all, very happy to see this project is alive, I use to love Battleforge and playing this again bring me a lot of good memorys.

Since I don't play from long time ago I'm almost like a newbie and I have few questions mainly about PvE. Probably PvP is only remaning people with a lot of knowledge and with already all the cards so, pointless for now. Back to the PvE, here are my doubts.

1. Is any efficient way to spend the BF? I bough one booster and I felt is such a bad investment and I started buying cards individually. What should I do with my BF points? And, is there any other way to get a good a amount instead the 25-35 I'm getting per campaing chapter?

2. I spended almost everything I got into a Stonekin Deck because seemed the easiest and cheapest option to start and also is my second favorite archetype but I started to regret it because back in the days I use to play Lost Soul and still my favorite but, which is better for PvE? Stonekin feels super strong with the passive healing of crystalfiends/razorshards and aggressors are incredibly useful knocking back large units + grinder and turrets are super strong but don't know on which should I focus from now on.

3. To increase the amount of units by card, If I remember well, I need a copy of that card but it doesn't let me, unless the upgrade is also required.

4. There's many chapters in the campaign for 2 and 4 players, but I'm currently alone, should I give up on them?
